Many, many thanks, Poppy, Mumsnet and Cadbury, for the opportunity to trial this product. My responses are as follows:-
-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
The decorating kit was very user-friendly, with minimal, straightforward instructions. Sometimes it's better to keep things simple - extensive instructions can turn people away. Having said that, although the instructions on the outer box were spot-on, there could have been further 'Icing Tips' inside. That will help people to avoid common pitfalls. For example, children avoiding squeezing too much icing onto one area. We made this error - 6 hours later, and the icing still hadn't dried, and worse still, it was dripping down like Elsa's tears in 'Frozen'.
-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
Very enjoyable activity, although can (will) get messy without adult supervision of very young children.
-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
As always, the Cadbury's chocolate was of very high quality. In a funny way, chocolate egg always seems to taste better than standard chocolate bars (although I'm sure that we make ourselves believe that due to the novelty factor).
-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Yes, recommended, although the popularity of the product will inevitably depend on the retail price. The decorating option ensures for interactive & creative fun - that, added to the quality chocolate egg, makes for an innovative product. However, without getting things too convoluted, the product may have included multiple coloured icing (maybe 3 small tubes of white, red and blue/green). Additionally, the hollow eggs should always have something inside them, I feel - works great with Smarties in Nestle chocolate eggs and toys in Kinder Surprise, so why not with Cadbury's?
The maximum allotted 3 photos uploaded - We had 2 different designs - the more complex, but failed, initial design was on the back of the egg. The simpler 2nd attempt is pictured.
