I realise this is very late but I just didn't get round to filling in the survey. Kids enjoyed the egg pretty much straight after opening it!
How easy was the decorating kit to use?
Very easy. Some warming needed for the icing tube
-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
Despite the fact the egg was broken when we got it (which is why there are no photos) my kids really enjoyed decorating the big parts left!
-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Without a doubt. They love cadburys chocolate anyway so they were in their element with the egg!
-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Yes I would. And actually already have Smile

How easy?
5yo needed help to get icing out.
Did your DCs enjoy?
Yes but I was expecting it to have different colours or sprinkles or something. I would have been disappointed if I'd paid for it.
taste?
Ish. Didn't get finished. Admit it you have changed the recipe, I found some old Cadburys in a birthday party decoration box and it tasted different and nicer than the current Cadburys. Sorry but its the truth!
Recommend?
Sorry no. Better to get your own bits from the baking section if you want to do this kind of activity.

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
very easy ,bit of a faff to warm the tube
-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
enjoyed it but as they are 7 and 10 didnt keep them entertained for long
-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
they love Cadburys so always a hit
-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
was slightly disappointed as initally thought the 'kit' would have more than the just the icing pen. Not sure of the RRP but the kit as it stands wouldnt make me recommend it. It would be better if had more things in to decorate with such as mini eggs etc

How easy was the decorating kit to use? Fairly easy to use, although we didn't use water to warm the icing I just held the tube in my hands and massaged.

Did your DCs enjoy the activity? They did although 1 egg between 3 did cause a bit of grief and squabbling.

Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg? Of course, Cadbury is there favourite anyway.

Would you recommend this kit to a friend? Yes and no. It needs tweaking a bit, maybe more icing colours, or possible decorations included too.

Our egg arrived cracked in half but this didn't stop us from enjoying it!

We thought that the decorating kit was easy to use, but just to do lines and dots, it's not really suitable for small children to do any intricate designs. I also found that I had to soak it in warm water a few times to keep the icing from solidifying.

My kids enjoyed the activity and we added our own cake decorations to it, to add to the fun and add a bit of colour. This also kept them occupied for longer which was also a bonus!

My DC's enjoyed the taste of the eggs but were hoping for a treat inside.

I would recommend this to a friend-but it would be dependent on the age of the child as I find that it's more suitable for kids ages 6+.

Depending on price as there wasn't much to it, could do with some more decorative items I think!

Our egg arrived with a broken back but we decorated the other side.

Thanks for choosing us as testers, we were very excited about this one! Happily, our egg arrived in one piece.

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
Very easy, the egg fit well in the stand and the icing tube was easy to use after following the instructions on the box. Unfortunately, the icing was too runny and all the patterns and letters that were made all ran into streaks so the end result was a bit of a mess!

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
Yes, he enjoyed both watching me decorate and also having a go himself although the thing he was most interested in was when it would be ready to eat Grin.

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Oh yes! As did I! The icing tasted nice as well, very like the inside of a creme egg.

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
No, due to the runniness of the icing, it would be impossible to create anything like the product suggests you can. If the icing was improved and some other decorations included (chocolate curls, buttons, sprinkles etc) then I would absolutely recommend it.

We were also part of the unfortunate group whose egg arrived broken. On the plus side the egg was delicious and my kids attempted to decorate the larger bits of the shell with the icing set and said that it too tasted lovely.

Oh dear, so all round a bit of a flop then! Sounds like a good enough idea but the products weren't quite up to standard.

Our egg also didn't make it but we decorated some of the bits we had. The icing wasn't that easy to work with and my dc wanted to add various sprinkles from our cupboard. They enjoyed the general idea, it's just a shame that the icing wasn't great and only came in one colour. The egg was eaten and enjoyed by the whole family.

I know this wasn't asked but I thought I'd mention it, I've seen these on sale on the top shelf in Sainsbury's for £3. To be honest I only noticed it because I'd received one and recognised it. The packaging doesn't stand out to suggest it's different from any other egg and the price point is similar to others too. I wonder how many people know it exists because it's the kind of thing people would tell me about because they know my dd would like it.

Our egg arrived in one piece, (I was lucky enough to catch the postman when he delivered it!)

My 11 year old son found the egg easy to decorate but was frustrated by the really gloopy icing.

He did enjoy decorating the egg but was put off but the icing not setting properly and sliding off.

He really enjoyed the taste of the egg but said it was a bit sweet to eat too much at once.

He would recommend with a few tweaks to the icing. He thought the overall idea was really good.

Thank s for choosing us! :-)

Unfortunately, our egg was broken as well, having looked at the stand, I wouldn't have thought that it would have held it particularly well anyway. My girls enjoyed eating the egg and did try a bit if the icing but found it quite sweet. I think the concept is a good idea but it needs a bit of work. For young children trying to use the icing kit, they may get frustrated and with it being so thin, it is unlikely to turn out how they want it to.

Kit arrived broken, so I will do my best.
I think it's a great idea- the icing pen was good- we iced come cookies with it so can say that works a treat.
The children said they would have loved to do this activity.
The Choc was superb though- my littlest one said he could tell it was for Easter as it tasted better than Choc buttons!!!!
I would recommend this kit- don't think we could get the writing to look as good as shop iced ones (ie Thornton's!!) Though!!
Thanks for the trial x

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
Fairly straightforward in terms of warming the icing. However, the tube was too difficult for DD1 to use (4yo), she couldn't squeeze hard enough to control the icing. So I ended up squeezing and she moved the tube to try and draw a picture. It wasn't overly successful Blush
-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
Unfortunately not as she couldn't really do it herself. She soon got fed up, particularly as the icing didn't look very good- thin and drippy! It's a shame as she loves doing this sort of thing usually.
-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
She had a small piece but she's not a big milk chocolate fan strange child. DH and I polished the rest off. It was nice enough once it had been in the fridge.
-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
No unless it was really cheap. Even older kids who could manage to squeeze the tube would probably quickly lose interest. The thin, white icing is difficult to use and doesn't give a very pleasing result

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?

The icing was far too runny. I didn't read any of the feedback before we tried doing it so I followed the instructions and warmed the icing up with warm water. Reading the feedback so far, maybe it would have been better just warming it up by hand? Also, if you use the stand that comes with the kit, gravity takes over and the drips just run down the egg.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
They liked the concept but they found it difficult to use the runny icing and got frustrated that the patterns were getting ruined by the drips.

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Yes... they love Cadburys chocolate!

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
In it's current format... no. If the icing was less running and the stand allowed you to decorate the egg horizontally, then maybe. We all thought the idea was great, but it needs refining.

Lu x

How easy was the decorating kit to use?
Unfortunately the egg arrived in a million pieces and we were not able to decorate it. We used the icing on a different chocolate though and it worked quite well. I found the icing to be a little bit runny and difficult to press out of the tube.

Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
Yes, she did, but she needed some help to get the icing out of the tube.

Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Yes, the chocolate was super tasty.

Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Yes, we would. it's a fun activity for kids.

Depending on the retail price, It is essentially just a plain egg and an icing tube. If priced fairly cheaply then yes would recommend.

This is a great concept but I think it needs a bit of honing.

Our egg arrived smashed up, but we had fun decorating the various bits. The stand was a nice addition to the pack and easy to assemble. Despite following the instructions, the icing was very drippy and ran down the egg, which meant that DS's (3) creations were decidedly abstract in style! Nevertheless, he really enjoyed this activity and liked the taste of the chocolate (I think that the Cadbury's taste isn't as good as it used to be, but he was perfectly happy!).

Depending on the retail price and whether we were just unlucky with the consistency of the icing, I would recommend this to a friend. It is essentially just a plain egg and an icing tube, though, so it would need to be priced fairly cheaply. I think it would be easy to buy the various components, including a variety of coloured icing tubes (rather than just white) and maybe some Smarties for decoration, at a low cost.

All I all, I'd say this is a good initial concept but it needs to be a bit fancier to really attract me. Thank you so much for the opportunity to try it though - we had fun!

The kit was easy to use and DS (nearly 4) enjoyed the activity. The icing was rather runny and sticky but he was able to do blobs and lines which was the extent of his ambition.

He enjoyed eating the egg (of course) but I don't think I'd recommend it - I think the kit was a bit limited and the results were very sticky!

How easy was the decorating kit to use?
Our egg arrived broken into two pieces. This meant it wouldn't sit in the base provided. My son is only 15 months old so needed a lot of help in decorating the egg. This was fine, it was what I expected. We decorated one half at a time. Unfortunately, the icing tube had a hole in it at the top so when we squeezed it, icing came both from the nozzle and the top. This made the whole process extremely messy and both me and my son ended up with more icing on us than the egg! This is why I have no photos, I had icing all over my hands and couldn't operate the camera. The icing was quite difficult for me to get out of the tube, so I can't imagine how a young child would do it. When it did come out, it was very watery and I found it really hard to make any kind of design.

Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
He is very young and doesn't have the coordination yet to be able to operate the icing tube fully himself, although he was very cross that he couldn't! He definitely wanted to be fully involved. Like others have said, I think children would find it a lot more fun if there were more colours and sweets, sprinkles etc. He certainly enjoyed eating the chocolate afterwards, although he only had a little because he is still small (I may have had to help him finish it off)

Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Yes, he loved it. He wanted more and more but wasn't allowed as much as he would have liked! I also liked the taste a lot but I love cadburys chocolate anyway.

Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
As it is right now, no. I think the promise of it is exciting but the reality isn't as much. It needs more colours/ bits and the icing needs to be of an easier consistency to use. The cadburys taste is there so with a bit of tweaking it could be a really good product.

Thank you for letting me try this egg, I enjoyed the experience!

The egg arrived partially broken but we avoided the holes and had a go at icing along the cracks anyway. Plain white icing didn't seem very exciting really and it was very hard to get it and keep it at the right consistency for piping and also to squeeze it out of the tube. We did enjoy the activity however and that's the main thing. The egg tasted lovely of course and I'm glad we tried the product.

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
It was easy to set up
It was quite hard to control the flow of the icing so the kids only really squiggled lines on the egg. Not that they minded, end game was to eat the egg.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?

My kids are quite crafty but they were motivated to finish so they could eat the egg. The icing was not as easy to use as we had anticipated unfortunately which was a shame.

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?

Yes and me - we are diehard Cadbury fans.

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?

Yes, great idea. I think my kids might have enjoyed the decorating a bit more if there has been more colours with the icing/ more bits to stick in and, importantly, If this hasn't been the first Easter egg in months. To be honest, they were desperate to finish up and eat the egg!
