Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
No i was not aware

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
Really loved by me and the whole family did feel as if they were home made .

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
Nice & good taste

SuzCG · 10/03/2016 11:46

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?

I had heard of them but had never bought or tried them.

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

I tried mine out last night with a mid week roast - which we wouldn't normally have as my home made to perfection roasties take too long to do on a week night. The colour was nice but they weren't as crispy as I would like them. Perhaps I will try cooking them for slightly longer next time to see if this makes a difference.

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

They were okay, 7/10 - for my palate could have done with a bit more seasoning if I'm being honest. The texture was slightly odd.

Q4. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?

Quite small and very same sized. I like food that's come from the ground to look natural and have a bit of character. These were a bit 'school uniform' for me. Smell was okay while cooking - my son dashed through the kitchen and told me tea was smelling good.

Q5. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

As a convenience food yes - or to smaller size families where it really isn't worth all the time & dishes it takes to peel, part boil, dry & then roast.

Q6. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?

I would buy to keep in as a quick roastie when needed. But for me, they don't come close to home made. As above - a convenience food, rather than a luxury, top notch Sunday Lunch food.

Carassister · 10/03/2016 12:31

I served these with broccoli and cauliflower cheese for dinner on Monday night. My DP and DS (7) were eating too.
I purposely refrained from looking at the ingredients list until we'd tried the potatoes as I'm always a bit suspicious of convenience foods and what's in them. I didn't want to influence the taste test!

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?

No

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

They looked good, tasted a bit like potato waffles (not necessarily a bad thing, just not very roast potato like)!

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

I don't usually eat ready made foods, or fast food, although I didn't find them unpleasant, they had that processed taste to them.

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?

I usually make my own roast potatoes, as I said before, they looked good once cooked (alarming slimy stuff on them when I turned them during cooking), a nice colour and crispy. They smelt very fatty, and definitely weren't what I'd expect from roast potatoes, not horrible, just different.
DP said he didn't like them, but had seconds (!), and DS said he liked them as much as the ones I make myself. They are lots more convenient than making 'proper' roast potatoes.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably not, I'd much rather eat food that's made from scratch. Also, when I had a look at the ingredients, I noticed Palm Oil was listed. I'd want to be reassured that this was from a sustainable source before buying or encouraging anyone else to buy products that contribute to deforestation of rain forests. wwf.panda.org/what_we_do/footprint/agriculture/palm_oil/

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?

Possibly, as an emergency standby if I knew that the palm oil used was from a sustainable source.

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?

Yes, I've seen them advertised on tv before.

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

I liked the look of them once they were cooked, they looked appetising. I quite like the taste of the outside of the potatoes, they were crispy. The insides were quite disappointing though, the texture was not very nice.

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

I'd rate them as fairly good. The taste was quite nice and they went well as part of a roast dinner. They were also very convenient to cook.

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?

They looked and smelt nice but I do prefer my usual roast potatoes that are made straight from real potatoes.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend them as a quick convenience food if you needed something in to rustle up a meal, but I don't think I'd recommend them over making your own ones.

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?

I may keep a bag in the freezer for unexpected occasions but I wouldn't buy them as a regular thing.

Stej7 · 10/03/2016 13:16

Q1.No, I was aware Aunt Bessie's produced frozen yorkshires but not roast potatoes.
Q2. Good colour, easy to cook, fluffy texture, smelt good when cooking.
Q3. Lovely, fluffy texture, good crunch on outside, not greasy, not too dry despite cooking for ten mins extra than recommended.
Q3. Perfect size and shape. Smelt good when cooking, less greasy smell than homemade potatoes.
Q4. Yes I would highly recommend this product to family/friends especially for time saving as these potatoes taste great.
Q5. Highly likely, especially for mid-week roasts! Smile

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
Yes - I've seen them in the freezer section whilst out shopping but have never tried or bought them.

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
Much better than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised. Good shape, nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
Very tasty! DCs loved them. I would have preferred them a bit more seasoned but they are almost as good as the real thing. We had them with garlic and lemon roast chicken, asparagus and Yorkshire puds.

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?
I would say that they are not as good as 'real' roast potatoes, but are still exceptionally tasty and are an ideal solution for when you are rushed for time.
They are very evenly and uniformly shaped, so very aesthetically pleasing and the smell from the oven was delicious.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would. They are much better than frozen potato wedges. A great convenience food.

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?
If they were on special offer and I was pushed for time, I might just grab some.

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?

Not really, it's never occurred to me to buy frozen potatoes before. Also when I was looking for them all the packaging of all the AB varieties and all the other ones like McCains are similar colours & blend into each other a bit.

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

We had them with sausages, then cauliflower cheese, then a roast chicken.
They needed a good bit longer in the oven than 35 minutes to get the outside crispy. I don't think I'd do them unless I was putting the oven on for something else.
They gave off quite a lot of grease we thought.
The inside stays as hot as the sun for ages!

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
We thought pretty tasty, and also nice cold the next day - not covered in cold grease.

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?

They're probably a bit smaller & more uniform than roast potatoes I would make (husband said they almost didn't look like real potatoes) and more fluffy inside but less crispy outside. Couldn't say we noticed the smell.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I might if they were looking for a quick solution, they're okay, they fill the potato shaped space on a plate, but they're not for smart. I wouldn't recommend them if they were for eg cooking for the in laws for the first time.

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?

I would for maybe day to day - it made doing a basic roast a good bit simpler, often I can't be faffed to roast potatoes. They would make a wee change from mashed or boiled. I wouldn't serve them if I was having people round though, I would do proper ones. Or more likely something easier.

georgiatraher · 10/03/2016 14:28

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
Yes, I've seen them in the supermarket but never tried them before.

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
Generally thought they were okay, powdery on the inside and crispy on the outside.

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
They did remind me of school dinners, but I have fond memories of those, and they soaked up gravy perfectly.

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?
Good size and shape I thought. The crispy skin was a bit too thick for my taste though. aroma? I mean... potatoey? I didnt notice anything.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Sure! It takes a lot of time away from the cooking.

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?
I think for small family dinners it's fine but I wouldnt use it for Christmas etc.

Obs2016 · 10/03/2016 15:37

Yes I was aware. They are a very very poor substitute for real ones. They weren't crispy and it had a really bland taste. I was shocked and disappointed.

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
No. I was aware of the Aunt Bessie's brand, but not really aware of individual products.

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
Overall - good. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the potatoes turned out. They were attractive to look at and all pretty much the same size, which meant they cooked in the same time. They crisped up nicely.

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
Very good - not as good as the roast potatoes my mum makes, but much better than the ones I've had with a pub meal (and a lot of my efforts)

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?
I've never bought frozen roast potatoes before, but they were better than I expected and better than most pub roast potatoes. Not as good as my mums though.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes - they're easy to cook and tasty. A great freezer standby for when you don't have the ingredients/time/inclination to make from scratch. Also handy for making just a couple of potatoes for the DC.

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?
I'm fully intending to buy more to keep in the freezer.

500internalerror · 10/03/2016 17:53

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
Yes
Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
They were fine, but nothing to make them any different to other frozen roasties.
Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
Very nice; ready made ones never taste as good as home made, but comparing like to like they were nice!
Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?
See above, plus these had less eyes/imperfections than the stores-own we usually get.
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would, but not raving about them. They didn't have anything wrong with them, but they weren't outstanding.
Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?
Would do if on special offer :)

TheMasterBaker · 10/03/2016 18:13

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
I was aware of frozen roast potatoes (my husband had picked some up before and I wasn't overly impressed) however I wasn't aware of Aunt Bessie's product.
Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
The price is a little higher than I'd like but they look quite nice and smell and taste ok too.I don't think you can ever replace homemade though.
Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
As far as frozen roast potatoes go, I think these tasted very nice, not as nice as homemade but they're quite tasty.
Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?
They were a bit 'rounded' for my liking (I like the nice sharp angles of homemade as they get super crispy) but when overcooked a tad (to give a bit more colour) they were nice. Something isn't quite 'there' with the smell though.
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not as most of my friends are foody types who would make from scratch. I wouldn't tell anyone to avoid them though.
Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?
They were handy to have for a midweek roast as it cut down on prep and cooking time to make a midweek roast more viable.

Maniacalparrot · 10/03/2016 18:13

Q1 Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?

No, but I had heard good things about their Yorkshire puddings.

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

Great product. Like many others we used these for a midweek roast. I served a generous portion to my family and they were gobbled up and more were requested. I hadn't done a mid week roast before as its a really rush to feed hungry kids after work and after school club but the potatoes (along with rotisserie chicken ) really helped .

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

Delicious; They were lovely and fluffy in the middle and crispy on the outside.

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?

The smell from the oven of roasties was apparent as my kids were circling the oven waiting for their tea. I thought they were tastier and more economical than the M&S ones I have bought before. I thought that they looked nice and were a good size (relatively small) so that you got a good portion of roasted edge to potato.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes definitely for the working mum: in terms of the time saving it's a winner and I didn't feel like we had made a compromise in terms of taste.

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?

For sure, we will add these to our shopping list. Thanks for the opportunity to sample, it's always good to have a new go to meal that the kids will definitely eat.

CallMeDaisy · 10/03/2016 18:31

1 - No I'd never seen or heard of them before

2 - Packaging looked good and decent quality. Potatoes looked ok, maybe a bit pale. Felt a tad greasy? Similar to other precooked frozen items in my experience.

3 - Tasted ok, not a fan of frozen/pre cooked/processed foods but they were edible.

3 - I don't think you can beat homemade roast potatoes for colour, shape, smell and taste. You can't really compare the 2 but they were ok and my kids ate them without complaint.

4 - I would recommend them if someone asked about products to help when time is of the essence when preparing a meal, a roast in particular.

5 - I probably would buy them again just as emergency stock for the freezer or if the kids really fancy a roast during the week.

Padget · 10/03/2016 20:14

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?

I was aware of Aunt Bessie's frozen potatoes, not sure if I was specifically aware of the Homestyle branding

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

They were very nice. They were a very uniform size, lovely and crispy on the outside and due to not being too big they weren't too fluffy on the inside - just how I like them!

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

They were a good taste, but I could tell they were 'different' to homemade potatoes.

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?

They were so uniform, you could never pass them off as being homemade.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, as they are perfectly good substitute for homemade when you need convenience.

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?

I would probably try a supermarket own brand as well, to see if a cheaper product was comparable. But I would certainly consider purchasing them again if I wanted frozen potatoes.

Shortie10 · 10/03/2016 20:22

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?

I'd seen them in the freezer section but not given them much thought as I don't tend to buy frozen roasties!

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

We were quite impressed. The children loved them!

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

They tasted really good. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Think I'd like them just a bit crispier and a bit more fluffy!

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?

The aroma was just like home made roast potatoes. The shape was a bit too uniform for them to be mistaken for home made ones but I was happy with the size.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I definitely would

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?

If I wanted frozen ones I would definitely buy them now I've tried them
Smile

  1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
Yes I was aware of theses potatoes but hadn't tried them Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes? soft and fluffy on the inside. I would've liked them to have been crispier on the outside. Best frozen roast potatoes I tried though. Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes? Very tasty - would def buy again. Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase Perfect size and shape. I like roast potatoes that are not too big. Looked lovely and smelled nice. Not quite as good as home made which are crispier but that is my only (tiny) negative. Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not? yes as for a frozen potato they are delicious and easier than making your own when pushed for time. Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes? I will definitely buy again. I will still make homemade potatoes for special occasions but I will now be buying aunt Bessie's for an everyday meal.

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
No

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
a good quality item no hassle and easy to cook.

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
The outside of the potato is very tasty, but i did find the inside slightly dry, as did DH

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?
I liked the small size of the potatoes, a pretty good second to my home roasties, but to be fair i'm sure they are much healthier than my own!

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family?
I would definitely recommend them to family members who don't know how to cook / short on time / or simply want a break from cooking.

If so, why? because overall they have a good flavour, a yummy outer and easy to bung in oven. Perhaps a bigger bonus for me though, was DD (5) is an unbelievably fussy picky eater, but she loved creating faces and other fun pictures with the potatoes and then devoured them!

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?
If I was going to purchase frozen roasties, i would definitely purchase again. In fact i will purchase again as they are ideal to have as a standby.

We had a bit of a problem using our vouchers in store - they were not recognised at the till and 2 supervisors had to intervene. Cue a long queue behind us and a lot of looking at voucher and our receipt. It was sorted eventually (although I was close to just paying) and they were very kind - not something I'd like to happen again, though.

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?

No - only the frozen Yorkshire puddings that I have used before.

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

Small! Very small. I left them in the oven longer than the recommended time to crisp them up and I sprinkled them with extra seasoning and rosemary.

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

I was surprised by the taste - they were really good! I didn't expect them to be because they were not as appetising to look at as my home-made roast potatoes.

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms
of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?

The shape was good although I thought they were small. They were not as textured as my home-made roast potatoes. I thought they smell delicious!

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would. My mum was with us when we tasted them: we had them with our usual Sunday dinner. The whole family, me, husband, four children and my mum, thought they were tasty and would recommend them.

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?

I don't think I would have them with my Sunday dinner again. Sunday is the day I have the luxury of time and so would probably make my own. However I would certainly keep some in the freezer as they would be the perfect accompaniment for a week day dinner when I am more pressed for time. The whole family enjoyed them and would definitely eat them again.

DaphneWhitethigh · 10/03/2016 20:58

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
I knew that Aunt Bessie did frozen roaast potatoes, but hadn't heard of "Homestyle"

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
As a long standing roast potato snob, who turns her nose up at them in restaurants, let alone from the freezer compartment I was shocked to find they were actually good. Texture in the middle was great, and they soaked up gravy brilliantly. Exterior not quite as crispy as I'd ideally like. Entire family enjoyed them, and my family are really really fussy.

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
Good

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?
The shape was a bit too rounded for my taste, I prefer to have one flat edge so you get crispy edges. Aroma was fine.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I'd recommend them, with the caveats below about price and palm oil.

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?
For a midweek meal they're very nearly as good as homemade from scratch (which is a miracle), more reliable in quality and far less effort. On the other hand they're much more expensive, and they use palm oil which I normally try to avoid. So I might get them for occasional use, but not regularly.

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?

No I wasn't, I was aware of Yorkshire puddings and stuffing balls and had bought both before

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

I loved the fluffy inside, the texture and taste was delicious. I was disappointed that they weren't crispier on the outside. I would say that they weren't comparable to the ones I make with my Sunday roast however my children (4 and 7 ) happily ate them. They would be ideal for a mid week roast when I am shorter on time than on the weekend
I liked the fact they were very similar sized so stopped the arguements between my dcs who had the biggest

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?

I found them very tasty as did my dh and dcs

Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
I'd seen them in supermarkets before but had never bought them.

Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
They got a huge thumbs up from all of us, even from my fussy 9-year-old. The smell of them cooking made our mouths water long before we actually got to taste them.

Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
They were absolutely delicious, crispy on the outside but so soft in the middle. The real test of a roast potato is what they are like cold and these were still delicious!

Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?
The potatoes were pretty much the same size so they cooked evenly which is unusual in a bag of frozen roast potatoes - you usually get some tiny ones and some massive ones so some end up frazzled and some not quite cooked.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely would recommend them

Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?
I've never bought these before because they were quite a bit more expensive than other frozen potatoes but having tasted them, there is no way I would go for the cheaper option again.
