Q1. Were you aware of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes before taking part in this product test?
Yes to Aunt Bessie's potatoes in general, but not to this specific range of them.
Q2. What were your overall impressions of Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
We all really enjoyed them. I was slightly sceptical as most frozen roasties we've tried before just can't compare to the real thing when it comes to texture, appearance and taste, but we all commented on the lovely golden colour. They were crispy outside and fluffy inside, just as we wanted them, and when we cooked the second bag in the juices of the roast chicken for Sunday dinner, they were just as good as any homemade ones we've had before.
Q3. In terms of taste, how would you rate Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes?
Delicious. I'd definitely recommend using goose fat or meat juices if you're cooking a roast at the same time, but even just with a splash of vegetable oil we all happily ate them (myself, DH, and DD7 and DD1).
Q3. How did you find Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes in terms of shape and aroma, compared to typical roast potatoes you make/purchase?
They weren't uniform in shape, which meant the bigger ones weren't cooked as well as the others, but I suppose that gives them the homemade sense! Aroma wise, perhaps they weren't quite the same as homemade, but certainly better than other frozen brands we've tried.
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes - easy, reasonably priced and very tasty.
Q5. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Aunt Bessie’s Homestyle frozen roast potatoes if you were in need of roast potatoes?
Very likely, it made cooking the roast dinner less time consuming without compromising on taste.
