Slumberland are looking for 15 Mumsnetters to test out their divan sets with Serene or Tempo mattresses.

Here’s what Slumberland say, "Here at Slumberland we know the importance of sleep as a part of a healthy lifestyle, when you have the best night’s sleep possible, you live longer, look better, feel better, concentrate more and perform better at work and play. We understand how the quality of your bed can affect your sleep. Slumberland mattresses are made using a blend of four innovative materials, so that every aspect of your sleep is nurtured.”

Those selected would need to visit the Slumberland factory in Huntingdon during w/c 22nd February, where testers would select the bed of their choice. Testers will be able to choose from:

  • Double (135cm) or Kingsize (150 cm) divan set
  • Serene or Tempo mattress

If selected, once you have chosen your bed at the Slumberland factory in Huntingdon, your chosen bed will be delivered and set up in the room of your choice within 2-3 weeks. You will need to try the bed for a few weeks and so long as you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product. You would need to add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet and at the end of the testing period, we'd also like you to post a review on the Mumsnet review pages.

In order to keep the product, you would need to add your feedback by 4th April, so please only apply if you are able to do this.

If you’re interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

korma do you mind me asking how much extra the ottoman base would have been? That's the one where it lifts up yes?

MaximumVolume · 23/02/2016 16:59

I think it was £357 for the ottoman base. Having tried it I can see why as it's very well engineered to allow you to lift the heavy mattress easily to access the storage.

I think they won't want us to post the headboard price on here as it's a wholesale price for an individual product unlike the ottoman base which is an upgrade. It's a lot cheaper than Furniture Village has them! If I'd had the spare cash I'd have definitely bought one.

Jitterybug · 23/02/2016 17:24

Thanks for the info, ah yes best not to post prices.

5madthings · 23/02/2016 17:24

Ok could you send us a pm? I am debating how much we can afford to pay for extra as we just had to buy a new car. The extra drawer price seems very reasonable.

There was no invoice confirmation. Just written on the pad.
I wasn't asked not to tell the price of the headboard and the info is readily available on the website. We chose the 'Vogue' headboard which is £261 plus vat. in the same fabric as the divan. There are 10 headboards starting at 261 going up to 357. Can I just say, they didn't try to sell us anything. We asked about the headboard. They will send it with the bed and I can either give the delivery guys a cheque or pay he invoice direct.
As an aside, when I tried the bed, the demonstration pillow was fantastic. I got 2 of those I brought them away with me and will pay for them when the bed comes. I used it last night and it is fantastic Grin

Wombatinabathhat · 23/02/2016 17:37

They also gave us a goody bag which contains a water bottle, lip salve and promo video.
mn - if you are monitoring - thank you very much. I am so grateful Thanks

I had my visit this morning, and have come home really excited about the new bed. Everyone there was lovely, including the chap in the little hut at the entrance!
Agree there was no pressure to buy extras or upgrade. We all asked and they simply gave us prices and let us decide.

It was lovely too to meet other MMers, we didn't discuss MM names but it is as nice to meet you all!
Both mattress options were very comfy, I suspect all our reviews are going to be very positive!

Ok so back from choosing, had a great day, loved testing out the different beds!

Yes we were offered choice of other mattresses, the one we chose was called grace. We also opted to upgrade to the ottoman storage as when compared to the drawers there was just so much space it seemed mad not to. And I treated myself to new pillows.

The staff were lovely, as others have said not pushy at all just gave good information and helped us choose what was best for us. The whole experience was really positive and totally rate the customer service, everyone was lovely polite and cheerful.

Now I just can't wait for my new bed to arrive!

Jitterybug · 24/02/2016 18:49

Lucky you 5madthings, I would have loved the ottoman, but couldn't stretch to it, I will already get in trouble for ordering a headboard Grin.

Agree with everyone that all the staff were lovely, it was a really nice experience and the beds were soooo comfy, I can't wait for delivery.

5madthings · 24/02/2016 23:00

We opted for no headboard so we splashed out on the storage, our current bed doesn't have a headboard so I figured I could live without and the ottoman just gave so much more space than the drawers, storage is a premium in our house, I am already planning what will go in there!

And yes it was a great experience, am so grateful to have got the opportunity so massive thanks to mnet and slumberland :)
