Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, DH, DD (5) and DD (2).

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

Looked very Christmassy, like the reusable nature of the packaging. Tasted great too!

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

The adults preferred the oreos, the children preferred the snowbites.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, sensible portion sizes, but nicely packaged enough to be a treat and tasted lovely.

doublechocchip · 22/12/2015 19:21
  1. myself, my sister and 2 dc's (7 and 9)

  2. loved the idea, how it was presented and was pleasantly surprised how many you got inside.

  3. the Oreo one was definitely the biggest hit here. Absolutely delicious. The snowbites were fine, but wasn't keen on the dry powdery shell on the outside. Felt like it got stuck all over my lips. Prefer a smoother finish like mini eggs.

  4. 100% would buy them again great for stocking fillers and small gifts e.g perfect teacher gifts or a secret Santa for at work.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, husband, DD (age 4)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Snowballs were a bit like icing sugar-dusted mini eggs. These tasted great. However, there only being four small packets in the bauble was not so good as much harder to share than the Oreo bauble which had individually-wrapped sweets. I think the baubles are intended for sharing, so in this regard the Oreo one was better. The bauble shape is a nice idea but would have been a nightmare to wrap and didn't really contribute anything to the experience for us - a tube would have been fine.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
I liked the snowballs as did DD; husband preferred the Oreo bauble as he doesn't like the mess of the icing sugar dusting. For me, though, these just tasted of vanilla creme - I didn't get the Oreo at all (a few crunchy bits but no real personality).

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I might give them as an alternative to a selection box or box of chocolates at Christmas depending on price. I wouldn't buy them for us as a family as the snowballs weren't really shareable and I didn't much care for the Oreo version.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
My husband, our son age 6 and I tried these.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I liked the fact that these could be hung on the tree and later eaten. I also liked the fact that the contents were wrapped so that they didn't spoil once the bauble was opened.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
We all preferred the Oreo as the Snowbites were a little too sweet.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not
I would be happy to recommend these. They are good value for money and an interesting twist on decorations and treats at Christmas.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
My 12 year old DS, 9 year old DD, DP and me.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
They were a huge hit with both children; they really liked the concept of the Christmas bauble container (although our tree isn't sturdy enough to use it as an actual bauble) and they loved both types of chocolate. DP was less impressed. He is disappointed in the change of recipe/ingredients compared with the old Dairy Milk, so the flavour was lacking in his opinion. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to chocolate so I enjoyed them a lot, and thought it was a good festive treat in fun packaging.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
The children and I liked both varieties. The snow bites look like little snowballs and taste like mini eggs. The Oreos are very sweet and a softer texture. I would probably say the Oreos were better, mainly due to them being individually wrapped so the bauble lasted longer. There were 4 packets in the snow bites bauble so they were shared between the four of us and were gone straight away.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I think they're a little overpriced for the amount of chocolate you get, but they were very appealing to the children as a novelty festive product so I would recommend them on that basis. However, I'd be more likely to spend my money on a chocolate Father Christmas or the like, as they're generally cheaper and have similar appeal.

modzy78 · 22/12/2015 23:39

Q1. My husband, 3 year old daughter, and I tried them.
Q2. I think they are very nice and would make a fun gift. I probably wouldn't put them in a stocking or on the tree just because the containers are so large.
Q3. I personally preferred the snow bites, and I think my husband did, too. That's because they're so similar to mini eggs. My daughter wanted to eat them all, but I think she might have liked the Oreos a bit more. I found them a bit sweet and could only eat one or two at a time.
Q4. I would definitely recommend the candy inside the baubles. Due to the size of the packaging, I don't know if I'd recommend the baubles themselves. It would depend on the purpose. They would make a nice festive gift.
In all, I really enjoyed these. I admit that, being Cadbury chocolate, I wasn't too surprised.

Michelle1985 · 23/12/2015 13:20

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
As we are all chocoholics we all gave the baubles a try, myself, husband, dd 10, dd 9 and ds 7

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Loved them, think the bauble design stands out on the shelf and think they look 'cute' enough to give as a gift alternative to a selection box

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Has to be the 'OREO'...YUM YUM YUM!!!!!

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely. There is just the right amount of chocolate for eating over time on your own or enough for sharing...although that would end up as a fight in our household! As mentioned above pleasing to the eye!

Thanks for letting us try them :)

georgieandjess · 23/12/2015 13:45

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

We preferred the Snow Bites.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

NornIrishNut · 23/12/2015 17:08

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
What a treat - we all had some. Myself, Husband, DD1 (3.5 years) and DD2 (2 years).

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
The concept was fab; however, i felt the baubles were a little on the large side - the contents I have no fault however.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
My favourite bauble was the snow bites, i love the powdery crunch and smooth chocolate, but my husbands favourite are the oreos. Our kids will eat any.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
As a christmas treat yes, they are something different and make a change from the standard selection box. I would also gift them, but am not sure if the baubles add anything extra given the size. A smaller bauble would allow you to hang them on the tree, otherwise they are too heavy.

Gcalgske · 23/12/2015 17:12

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, DH & DD (3)
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

Nice but a little greasy

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Oreo, less greasy

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thank you Mumsnet for allowing us to take part in this product test was very good.

Han260678 · 24/12/2015 15:16

Q1. My husband, myself , 5 year old son and 20 month old daughter

Q2. We all thought they were great, really new idea.

Q.3 it was a close run thing but overall the snow bites were the favourite. Loved the crunchy white shell and the chocolate inside was lovely.

Q.4 would definitely recommend them as a treat, the chocolates were very nice and the children loved to use the shells to carry around other things in after they were empty!

carz1985 · 25/12/2015 14:13

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? Me, my husband and my daughters who are 3 and 1 tried them all
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? These are a great idea for Christmas time and having them in packs or individualy wrapped was a great idea
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? We liked both thought we did like the oreo ones better
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes these are great treat at Christmas I'd definitely buy them for my girls or as presents for family

enterpriseincarnate · 25/12/2015 20:57

Myself and the two boys have tried them so far (dh can't taste or smell due to a cold, hence delay in feedback!). We thought the oreo ones were yummy but not so keen on the snowballs - also portion control was easier with the oreo as they were individual and not in little bags. I thought the bauble were too big to go on our tree but nice to put on the mantlepiece. I would recommend them as a treat or give them as a gift.

Iamnotanugget · 26/12/2015 05:37

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? Dh, me, dc (7, 4 & 1)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? We liked them. They are a nice novelty and a good change from chocolate coins

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? I preferred the snowbites for taste but only just. If I was to buy another one though it would be the oreo one. I liked them being loose in the bauble. It made them easier to share and they lasted longer. With 5 of us the snowbites went in seconds but we dipped into the oreo's over a few days.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes. The taste was a success with everyone. The dc liked them on the tree.

Cashncarry · 26/12/2015 19:57

Finally posting feedback now Christmas is over ...

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
All of us - two adults, one preteen girl and 7 and 4 yr old boys.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
We loved them. I just about managed to fit them on the tree for Christmas Day. I might have preferred to have smaller baubles with less chocolate just from an aesthetic point of view.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Overall we definitely preferred the Oreo one. Even choco-phobic DH gave in and tried one when he heard all of our appreciative yummy noises! I liked the snow thingys but I was defo in the minority ... Not a problem as I got everyone else's leftovers.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Absolutely. Packaging was cute and can be reused - I'm going to put them with our craft stuff and I'm sure the kids will make good use of them. The chocs themselves were delicious and perfect for that between enormous-Christmas-lunch and light supper peckishness!

Jossykaye · 26/12/2015 20:41

Q1. DS aged 16, DD aged 8, DH and I all tried the baubles.

Q2. We all liked them and I thought they looked Christmassy.

Q3. DH and I preferred the Snowbites, DS preferred the Oreos. DD liked them both the same.

Q4. I would buy them as a Christmas treat but as previous posters have mentioned, they are quite small.

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 26/12/2015 22:25
  1. We alla tried them, but DD and I took our responsibilities extra carefully and ate more.
  2. Very nice, cute packaging.
  3. Oreo zone. Which surprised me as I find the cookies too sweet.
  4. Yes. [santa]

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

I took the baubles to France with me, so my mum, brothers & sisters, nephews & nieces as well as myself and dd tried them.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

We loved the look of them, and once empty, dd was very happy to use the container as a bath toy at grandma's house.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

The one we preferred was the snowball one, however we thought it was a shame that it was in fun treat size rather than individual wrapping, it didn't appealed to us as much as the individual wrapping of the Oreo ones. Also, the baubles were too big and heavy to be hanged in the tree which dd wanted to do with her cousins

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend it as it is fun to little ones, however I would prefer if all chocolates were individually wrapped

danmoore00 · 27/12/2015 15:54

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
My children and we were having a party for my son's 21st - so lots of happy testers!

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Yummy - good products - went rather quickly

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
I personally liked the snowballs, but the general consensus from party goers was that the Oreo ones were lush too!
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat?
If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes we would definitely recommend as a treat and will defintely be purchasing next year - think a lot of our friends and family will be too

ThisUserNameIsAlreadyTaken · 27/12/2015 20:52

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

The whole family tried them,
DH and myself, 2 DDs (18 & 10) and the 2 DSs (15 & 7).

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

We quite liked them, but DH, who doesn't really eat a lot of chocolate, noticed that they didn't taste of proper cadburys, which is saying something!

The packaging is quite large, too heavy to use on a tree if that's the idea behind the balls?

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Overall the family favourite was the snowballs, reminded us of mini eggs.
The Oreo balls we didn't think particularly nice, sort of soft and weird and tasteless.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Having looked up the original price in my local sainsbury, £4 a ball, no probably not, it's not really value for money.

Thank you for letting us try them.

TodmordensDog · 28/12/2015 17:57

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Myself, DH, 18month old DS and my 14 year old Dsis

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

Tasty, but probably too large to hang on the tree.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Yes, I prefer the oreo one. I like that they were loose inside and so could be picked at, rather than all eaten at once.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

I think I would be more likely to do so if they were smaller and so could be hung on the tree.

kennythekangaroo · 28/12/2015 18:48

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
DS(16), DD(8), DP, DM and various friends.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
DD liked their appearance and thought they'd look good on our tree though I think they would be a bit heavy. I liked the little bags for the snowballs. DD was delighted that both sweets were round as she could do the malteser challenge rolling them down a builders tape measure.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
DM preferred the oreos, DS,DD,DP liked all of them (if it's chocolate they'll eat it).

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat?
Yes, if they were sensibly priced- make a nice alternative to a chocolate orange as a small gift.

If so, why? If not, why not?

Fleur78 · 28/12/2015 18:49
  1. My two kids husband and myself all tried the cadburys baubles both Oreo and Snow Bites.
  2. They both looked very Christmasey and kids very excited t try them.
  3. We all preferred the Snow Bites as a bit like cadburys mini eggs, with extra dusting which did get onto fingers a little messy.
  4. Yes would recommend as a Christmas treat as look fantastic and great for sharing, not so keen on the Oreo baubles as a little too salty and buttery in taste. Would be best Snow bites slightly larger and individual wrapped though.
Shiraznowplease · 28/12/2015 20:41

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Myself (39), my dh (38), ds (6) and dd (3)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

The children loved them, they thought it was great that they could be refilled with other chocolates when they were all eaten. I thought a negative was that they were so large so it made it difficult to hang on the tree however I really liked them and think that they are a novel way to give chocolates at Christmas as we tend to buy a lot for TAs, ballet teachers, football coaches etc. I liked that they were purple and that they were robust plastic.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

We much preferred the Oreos bauble as the sweets were individually wrapped so they seemed more of a treat and also made it much easier to share out. We loved both chocolates and so the preference was purely down to the presentation of the sweets, although the adults ate more Oreos and the children more of the snow bites

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would definitely recommend And buy these myself as think it is a great way to give chocolate at Christmas however would stick to the individually wrapped sweets so as things stand the oreos
