  1. My partner and myself. Seemed too nice to waste on the kids 😀
  1. They were delicious. I won't pretend we hung them on the tree, that would just have delayed the process of eating them.
  1. Definitely the Oreo ones.
  1. Yes. Please do feel free to send more 😀

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
We all did. As my sons was damaged on arrival we had to open it to push the dent out. My partner as I shared some of the treats then redivided them between the two.
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

Its a good idea but not good for the environment. I think paper card could have been used to make the Bauble.
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Yes the oreo ones
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. However I'd like to see improvements to packaging next year.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? Myself and DS aged 8
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Distinctive & novel packaging, I like the fact it could be repurposed afterwards, I did have some difficulty unscrewing the lid - small arthritic hands + shape of bauble, but nothing comes between me & chocolate! Hope that there are more choices for next year.
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? My son & childminder loved the Oreos ( I'm gluten free). I liked the snow bites, similar to mini eggs. Individual sweets / bags meant they lasted that bit longer
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, ideal stocking filler / thank you for feeding the cat present or just to scoff whilst wrapping presents

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Myself, my husband, daughter 2 1/2, my parents, my sister and my parents in law.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

The chocolates were tasty and the baubles look good. However although they did hang on our tree (not a real tree) they looked strange and I wouldn't buy them to hang on a tree.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Our favourites were the Oreo, good for sharing as individually wrapped and easy to give daughter a small treat.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Although they tasted good and I would recommend the chocolates themselves I'm not keen on the bauble idea. If someone was looking for chocolate to hang in tree is probably recommend old style individual chocolate decorations.

WowOoo · 18/12/2015 14:02

Thanks for letting me test this product.

Q1. Me and the dc tried them.

Q2. Nice! Christmassy packaging. My youngest loves the plastic baubles they came in.

Q3. The Snowballs. One of my children preferred the oreos. They have a taste that reminds me a bit of mini eggs - the crunchy bit outside that melts.

Q4. Yes, I'd recommend them. it's always nice to try something different and they went down a treat.

They didn't last a full day in this house. Some of the chocolates I wanted to save for the next day mysteriously vanished....

Orangesarenottheonlyfruit · 18/12/2015 14:03

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
DH, me, DD1 (8) and DD2 (5)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I thought they were lovely, very nibbley, great for both adults and kids.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Interestingly, both adults preferred the Snowballs, "mini eggs with white on" as DH put it. The kids preferred the Oreos, especially as you could have them individually.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I think they would be a great little present when visiting someone over Christmas or as a little extra treat on the tree. I would probably buy the Oreo ones though as I'm not sure I could be trusted to have those Snowballs in the house without scoffing the lot!!!

Q1 : Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
A : Myself, my partner, my sons (15) (2) and my daughter (18)
Q2 : What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
A : First impressions, very positive. Lovely spherical shape, nice to hold, packing was very secure and yet easy to open and close. The artwork was clear and the bauble was a very promising Cadbury purple. On opening them up, we discovered that the oreo chocolates were all packaged individually. The snow bites were a handful in small packets. I have to say that the oreo won this round, it was so much easier to share them and fun to unwrap each treat. Because the snow bites were many, but in packets, it gave the impression of just chucking some in there to roll out to the public.
Q3 : Did you have a favourite Bauble? If so, which was it?
A : The answer to that is varied. Favourite flavour? My eldest son preferred the oreo bauble. My daughter, the snow bites. My younger son had no preference. My partner and I agreed that we preferred the snow bites. For us, the oreo tasted of neither Cadbury, nor oreo. Tasty but no flavour to distinguish.
However for packaging we all chose the oreo bauble.
Q4 : Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
A : I would recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles to family, friends and strangers in the street. They are fun, different, fill the criteria of all that is christmas and are just the right amount to share, or quite comfortably eat yourself as a treat.

As a note from myself, my younger son loves the empty baubles so much they have found their way into our toy box. He loves rolling them around, unscrewing the lid and banging it together. An added bonus Smile

Q1: Myself, plus had to let hubby and the children.

Q2: Overall, we thought the concept was good and made a change from the usual Cadbury hanging chocolate decorations. The baubles, though, were a bit on the large side to hang on even our chunky 6 foot tree, so we hung them on the ends of the strong wooden hanger our advent calendar was attached to. Other option would have been to sit them under tree as they have a flat base. We all thought the design on the Snow Bites one was much more appealing for Christmas than the design on the Oreos one, which hubby said looked 'too purple'. We all agreed that given the size of the baubles, the number of sweets inside was lower than expected.

Q3:Bauble looks wise, as said above, our favourite was the Snow Bites. We didn't think, though, that they needed to be in packets, and I in particular felt that having them loose inside would have been fine if either there were more to fill out the bauble or the bauble size reduced. Chocolates wise, my personal favourites were the Snow Bites, whilst the others seemed to prefer the Oreos, albeit we all agreed the biscuit bits in the Oreos weren't as 'crunchy' as we thought they might be and that the milk chocolate 'confused' the overall Oreo effect a little.

Q4: Mmmm, as a Christmas treat, yes, but probably more readily so if they contained some more sweets or the current size of bauble/price was reduced (albeit we sincerely appreciated the chance to try them, regardless of quantity).

Additional thoughts: because the baubles have a flat base, are reasonably sturdy, sit well on surfaces and because the top can be screwed on and off, one of my early thoughts after we ate the contents was that a 'slot' might have been a good addition and would have let the children re-use the baubles as money boxes.

woodwaj · 18/12/2015 14:07

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?I tried both and my partner only tried the snow bites. He's not a fan of biscuits in chocolate.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?I liked them. I thought they were very light so was pleasantly surprised when I opened them and there was plenty inside. My 10 month old enjoyed playing with the baubles.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? The snow balls won hands down in our house. Like my partner I'm not a massive fan of biscuit in chocolate. (Still ate them all though!!) I'd love the oreo ones with just the cream filling!!

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?Yes as a gift. But if I was buying them for myself I'd just buy a bag of snow bites as you'd probably get more for your money.

lottietiger · 18/12/2015 14:10

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
My husband, three year old son and me.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
A lot of packaging for the amount of product but nice little gifts and great to hang if you have a big tree (especially as my son couldn't open them himself!!

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Snow bites 100% loved the crunchy shell. Also the packet was just the right size for a treat. I probably wouldn't buy the oreo ones again but we did eat them all up pretty quickly. ;)

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would, they are a really nice small gift especially as most children get lots of sweets at Christmas, these can hang on the tree and be eaten when all the other stuff has gone.

Great product trial thanks Mumsnet!

gillys · 18/12/2015 14:20

Myself, husband, daughter & a friend tried these.
Thought they were novel & fun but a little heavy to hang on the tree, so just put them on the table.
The adults preferred the snow bites & the kids loved the Oreos.
I would recommend them as they make a nice little gift.

InMySpareTime · 18/12/2015 14:23

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Mostly me, but I very generously allowed DS (14), DD (11) and DH to try a fewGrin
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Nice enough, a decent amount of chocolate, though a bit too heavy to actually hang from the tree. Look like they'd be tricky to display in-store too, unless they sit in a specially designed tray on the supermarket shelf.
Being terribly mature, I stuffed both baubles up the front of my jumper to get a laugh from the DCs (then up the back of same jumper, J-Lo stylee Grin)
The tassels are especially amusing for this!
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Oreos, they tasted nice and I liked that they were individually wrapped, the snowball packet was a bit much all at once.
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not, as I tend not to recommend "Christmas" chocolate to people, (though if you're listening Cadbury, ditch the palm oil, put the milk back, you'll get your UK customers back in a heartbeat)

marsiettina · 18/12/2015 14:31

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? Myself and my two children, aged 13 and 9

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? I liked the idea, but felt they were too big to hang on the tree. I liked the fact that the Oreo one had each chocolate individually wrapped. My children loved them and couldn't wait to open them to try the chocolate inside.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? My favourite was the snow bites, as it reminded me of round mini eggs (and I love mini eggs).
Both my children preferred the Oreo bauble, as they loved the taste and that each chocolate was individual.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend the Baubles as they look pretty and the chocolate inside tastes great. I would prefer the chocolate to be in another shape, maybe like a Christmas tree, so I could put it on display.

jasmine1979 · 18/12/2015 14:52

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? -
We all did. My husband and myself, two teens and an 8 year old.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? -
Loved the novelty idea. I think that the packaging could have been a little prettier/more sparkly maybe? We have a 7ft tree and they were too heavy to hang. The lids were a little tricky to get off sometimes as well.
I would have liked the Oreo chocolates better if they were in a little bag unwrapped. I found it fiddly having to unwrap them whenever I wanted one.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?-
We all liked different ones. Males seemed to prefer the snow bites, females the Oreos. The snow bites reminded me of mini eggs, but maybe not quite as nice. They had a very slight aftertaste, but not enough to stop me eating them. Blush I adored the Oreo baubles, which surprised me as I actually dislike Oreo cookies. They reminded me of another chocolate but can't remember what, and it's driving me crazy!

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? -
Yes I would! I don't think I would pay £4 or so for them regularly however. I would feel like I was paying mainly for the packaging. As a novelty item however they are good value.

babster · 18/12/2015 15:05

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, dh, and all 3 children (15, 13, 10).

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I was surprised at how big they were and how much they contained. The snow bites bauble was very well filled (no complaints here!).

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
The girls loved the Oreo sweets but ds and I preferred the snow bites (ds is super-fussy but he likes mini-eggs, which these resembled in taste).

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely! They are a fun treat with plenty to share. I am also thinking of a clever way to reuse the baubles, which are a handy-sized storage container.

Thank you for choosing us for this most excellent product test!

loosechange · 18/12/2015 15:10

Thank you for these
They were a big hit.

We all tried them. My husband, the children (8, 6, 4) and me.
The children thought they were great. i liked the concept, the packaging and the chocolate, which I had expected to find too sweet.

The oreos were our favourite. They tasted good. I thought only 4 little packets of snow bites didn't seem good value. More packets with less in would have seemed a better deal.

I would get these as a present, recommend them as a treat and ve happy to receive these for the children.

They fit a novelty hole in the market.

PeasOnEarth · 18/12/2015 15:11

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
DH and I, my best friend, my godson (eclectic definition of family based on who was around!) (aged 2/35/41/50 in ascending order)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Yummy. Actually I'd forgotten I'd signed up, cue a very frustrating half a day where my DH and I were racking our brains for who would be so odd as to send chocolate unwrapped and with absolutely zero identification on it!!
I liked both, and I like Cadbury's chocolate despite the recipe change. I have to say they are seriously ugly hanging on the tree (but confess to being a bit particular) but they are pet proof and small hands proof which is a very good thing.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
I like the seperate wrapping of the oreo chocolates. But snowballs were new to my DH and he pointed out the mini-egg nature of them in texture and taste if not colour and shape means they are probably the best chocolates. My godson surprised me and preferred the oreos.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Just read above they are £3 in the shops - yes - especially the oreo one as I said the separate packaging makes it much more attractive as a gift in my opinion.

Thanks for letting us try - we enjoyed!

Etihad · 18/12/2015 15:34
  1. Myself, my dd who has special needs and has just started eating solids (oreos) and my mum and dad who were visiting

  2. Love the packaging, nice being able to hang it on tree. Dd liked playing with it so we have kept one of the empty baubles

  3. The snowbites - they were lovely, I detest white chocolate so great to have something white that doesn't taste vile.

  4. Like earlier posters I would buy these as a present or raffle donation.

purplepandas · 18/12/2015 15:47

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, DD2 (age 6,) and DD3 (age 4)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

A big hit in this house. I loved the packaging and will reuse in future years. THe products were nice although I much preferred the snow bites in terms of taste. I like the fact that the oreos were individually wrapped though instead of the snow bit packets.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Snow bites were lovely! Less keen on the Oreo ones personally but the children seem to love them.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I enjoyed them and the children have demolished them. I would buy again certainly.

Thanks for letting us test these out. :)

mrsronswanson · 18/12/2015 15:47

Q1. We all tried the baubles - myself, my husband and children aged 11 and 13.
Q2. The children liked the baubles. We don't buy chocolate regularly so it was a bit of a treat. The adults found the snow bites really sickly sweet. We shared a bag, definitely could not have finished a whole one.
Q3. We probably preferred the oreo bauble as it tasted less sickly sweet.
Q4. I would not buy these as a Christmas treat for the family. I might buy one as an add on present instead of a selection box for a child though.

MimsyBorogroves · 18/12/2015 15:55

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, DH, DS1 (7) and DS2 (just turned 4)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Oreos - DS1 and 2 loved them. DS1 said "they had a great power of taste and were delicious". I love Oreos, but felt they were a little bit sweet - missing the slightly salty crunch of a proper Oreo biscuit, which cuts through the sugar. DH doesn't particularly like Oreos, but likes these (probably because they are so sweet...)
SnowBites - definitely the favourite. We all agreed they were very like mini eggs, and DS1 thinks they have now surpassed Mini Eggs as his favourite. DH really liked them too. Both DS and DH complained that when they rubbed their fingers on their jeans afterwards, they left marks. I would have liked to have seen more packets of the Snowbites in the baubles, even if it had meant a reduction in packet size so that they lasted longer. In theory anyway.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Snow Bites.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, as long as they weren't £extortionate. We had them sitting at the bottom of the tree, and it was nice to have something a bit different there. Shame they probably won't last until Christmas Day!
DS1 would definitely tell his friends at school about them.

NotEnoughTime · 18/12/2015 15:57

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to Mumsnet/Cadbury's-it was a tough job but someone had to do it Xmas Grin

  1. Myself, my husband and our two DC were the tasters. 2 )I thought the Baubles were a great idea and would make a nice "fun" gift and wouldn't need wrapping
  2. Our favourite bauble was the "Snow Bites" because we thought they tasted the nicest (reminded me of mini eggs) and I liked the size of the packets.
  3. We would all def recommend the baubles as a Christmas treat-they tasted great, they looked great-what's not to like?
loveandsmiles · 18/12/2015 15:59

who tried
Me, DH, and DC (ages 13, 11, 7, 5, 2)

what did we think?
Loved the packaging - DC have reused them to keep little toys in / Lego / sweeties. Think they are too big to hang on a tree but they are nice to display or gift.

favourite
Both!!! They were equally deliciousXmas Grin

recommend as a treat
Yes, definitely. I would buy and I would gift them. I liked the packaging as they are instantly recognised as Cadbury.

Thank you so much for choosing us - it was a lovely surprise to receive them and they really were a treat!

nope, we loved both equally very tasty and a lovely chrismasy design.

ZombiesAteMyBaby · 18/12/2015 16:21

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, dd2 and my dad.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I like the idea, I think they're a nice little gift or stocking filler for Christmas. I didn't get to try the Oreo's as dd2 scoffed the lot before I could get in there! Hmm She really really liked them and wants me to buy her some. I did try the snowballs and I wasn't really fussy on them TBH. My dad tried them and then ate the lot so they're obviously tasty.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
If I'd gotten a chance to try the Oreo's it would have been them. They were dd2's favourite. My dad like the Snowballs the best.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend them. I think they're a nice little tasty present and a good alternative to the usual old box of chocolates.
