What a fabulous new product! Really innovative and different and yet fabulously cadbury's too!

I'd got fed up of buying the same old chocolate tree decorations each year so this was a VERY pleasant surprise as they were way better than i imagined!

The baubles are huge - so the plus side is that they fit lots of choc in them but the down side is that I think they are too big to realistically be hung on the tree without looking too oversized.

Taste was again way better than i imagined.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
me, husband, kids aged 11, 9 and 3

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Really really fun great unique concept! Loved the plastic packaging which i think i could reuse and create into something afterwards if i put some thought into it eg cover with papier mache / decoupage and use as a bauble year after year?

These would make great gifts for others but also great to treat your own family to. Either as a surprise to wake up to on Christmas day hanging on the tree or on door handles or to have as a treat in the run up to Christmas.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

I loved each for a different reason - The oreos one we loved the taste best. The snowballs one we loved that there was so much crammed in there with each minipack containing several snowball chocolates that we could share.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Definitely yes! they make a unique treat gift for the festive season!

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Everyone in the family was very keen to try the baubles, so that's me, dh, dd1, dd2 and ds.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

Everyone liked them. We liked the packaging in the big baubles, dd2 and ds had great fun once they realised the wrappers were statically chargeable and could be stuck to themselves! Dd1 was the only one who liked the Oreo baubles best, the rest of us preferred the snowballs.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

We thought the Oreo baubles were a bit sticky and sickly and couldn't manage more than a couple but we could eat a lot of the snowballs! We particularly liked the crunchy exterior. I liked that you got a few in a treat sized packet, rather than the individually wrapped Oreo ones.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would recommend the snowballs as a Christmas treat, and would personally like to buy them in a larger bag, as well as in treat sized multipacks.

The whole family tried the baubles aged from 6 - 56.
The Oreos chocolates were better than expected (as no one here likes the biscuits). But we would have preferred to have a smooth filling without the crunch. The size was great though and the fact that they were individually wrapped made them feel like a box of chocolates.
The snow bites are basically mini eggs covered in icing sugar. We found these too sweet and would have preferred them with white shelfs and no sugar. Opinion was mixed over the packet size of 10 bites per individual packet / 4 packets per bauble. Some felt the serving size was just right. I would have liked smaller packets of say 5 bites so that the bauble contents could be shared out more.
We would recommend the Oreos but not the snow bites.

How excited we were to receive the Cadbury Baubles. I had just put up the (little fibre optic) tree surrounded by Santas and Snowmen so added the Baubles to my display ready for ds3 getting home from school.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
We all did. Chocoholic Ds3 (9) and myself started off followed by ds1 (20) and ds2 (18) when they came in and some were kept somewhat reluctantly for Dh.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
We all thought they were great. They are a bit different from the usual Christmas chocolate and would make a great gift. I plan to get some for my nephews.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
The Oreo bauble was unanimously voted the best in our house but two of my boys have sensory issues and didn't like the 'white powder' from the snow bites getting on their fingers so it wasn't only the taste.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I think the make a fantastic Christmas treat. Ds3 is still playing with the empty -goldfish bowls-- baubles. He has just said "they were awesome".

lucyanntrevelyan · 20/12/2015 09:26

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

DH, DS (11) DS (8) and me. DDog has tried but can't get in to the bauble which is good as foil wrapped chocs he just eats foil and choc so we can't have them anywhere!

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

I was surprised by the size of them as I thought they would be smaller - they are way too big to hang on our tree. They are a great idea - I am sure we will find a way to re-use the pots once they are all gone, maybe fill with tinsel to decorate a window sill, or refill with chocolates..
The DSs were very excited by the look of them and couldn't wait to open them up to see what was inside, I think they would be really pleased to get one of these as a present. DS1 and I did not like the oreo chocolates as they are too sweet, but DH and DS2 will happily eat all them. DS2 said they are delicious. I have had snow bites before and really like them, I liked the little mini packets with a few in - great to share or enough for a little treat.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Equal split on the favourite bauble here.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes would recommend - they look great and are a really good idea as a small gift for children's friends or teachers, and I like the fact I can re use the bauble when the chocolates are gone.

MiniLop · 20/12/2015 12:20

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, DH and 10mo DS.
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
They were very tasty, the packaging outer packaging was unusual and festive. DS seemed to like them!
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Definitely the snow bites. Although the Oreos were nice, I don't think they were very festive. Although I preferred that they were wrapped individually.
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would recommend the snow bites. They tasted a bit like mini eggs which I love! I wouldn't recommend the Oreos though, they were too soft for me, I like a bit of crunch to my chocolate!

WarmHugs · 20/12/2015 12:42

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, DH, DD (6) and DS (4)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

They were fun, but pricey for what was inside.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

I liked the Oreos, everyone else liked the Snow Bites

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes as a fun treat.

BumbeLion · 20/12/2015 12:44

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
My two dds (9 and 7), my husband and me.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
everyone loved the look of the baubles. When we opened the envelope there were cries of 'Oh look, they're baubles!' The packaging was really nice and Christmassy, and the contents were yummy! Xmas Grin

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
For us, the Oreo ones were the best, as they were really truffley. It was much easier to share them as they were individually wrapped, therefore went a lot further and could also just be opened for one wee goodie on coming home from school. The snow bites were nice and wintery wee snowball choccies, but were used differently - four packets distributed whilst watching a Christmas film. A nice one off family treat.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would recommend both. They would also be nice to take as gifts when visiting family members with kids at Chritmas.

Bearsinmotion · 20/12/2015 13:06

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, DP and DD (3)
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I love snow bites, so they were great. I didn't get to try the Oreo ones as DP and DD ate them all! I'm guessing they liked them Grin
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Snow bites for me, see above! DD won't normally eat chocolate unless it's not got anything in it, but she did love the Oreo ones.
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I think so, but I would rather have something I can put on the tree, I.e. Smaller baubles with one mini pack of snow bites in each, or little Oreos that could go on individually.

Hellohellohowareyou · 20/12/2015 13:29

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Myself husband and son

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

Really like them! They are rather big in comparison to other baubles but hey who can complain at having them stuffed with chocolate!
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Definitely the Oreo one they are delicious and very moreish. Good they are individually wrapped too. I've tried the snow bites before and whilst they are nice I think there are other similar nicer products out there

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes they are a bit of fun for the family but I think once used I wouldn't keep the baubles on display I would bin them

BlueBlueBelles · 20/12/2015 13:40

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
So far me and DP. Waiting on kids to come home this weekend, we have managed to save some!
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Good, they're bigger than I imagined, and more chocolate in them
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Oreo. The snow bites were yummy, but in bigger packets (about four in there) the Oreos being little wrapped ones felt like a better gift - and they tasted amazing!
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I think they're good as an alternative to the usual bar of chocolate for kids. Good stocking fillers.

Will update when kids are back.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Myself,my partner,our 11yr and 7yr daughters,our neighbour,her 8yr son and 10yr daughter!

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

Loved them, great idea,Little heavy to hang on out tree's branches so they were sat on them instead.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Loved them both.My daughter's loved the little bags of snowbites-which we have never tried before, but are like a festive mini egg.Us grown-up's loved the individual oreo dairy milks-they're so moreish!

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Would definitely recommend and have already brought them as a little pressie for my neighbours as they loved them both so much.

Thank you for giving us the chance to test them-my eldest two are gutted they missed out on trying them but, hey,if you snooze, you lose!

watermelonmartini · 20/12/2015 16:24

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Dh, dd (6) and I plus two 30-something colleagues.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
We all liked the novelty factor - would make a fun gift/ secret santa. Tasty, and useful to find the contents were individually wrapped.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
I liked both, as did my colleagues. Dd and dh preferred the oreo ones. Dh did not like the powdery exterior on the snow balls.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes for the reasons above. The oreos especially!

Thank you.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 20/12/2015 17:27

Who tried?
Me, DD (3yrs) and DP

Overall:

Liked them both a lot. DP in particular liked the Oreo ones, which is odd as he's not one for chocolate usually. DD and I were more keen on the snowballs, basically mini eggs so you can't go wrong.

I might have preferred the snowball bauble to just have a load of snowballs in rather than packets. Better to share and eat one or two at a time. (Yep, I'm that delusional about my willpower!)

Would I buy?
Probably not if I'm honest, the snowballs and Oreo balls were nice but not really special enough for a gift. And yet the novelty of the bauble is a bit pointless to buy just for me and the family. Maybe a bigger pack (bit like malteasers size box) would be a nice family share at Christmas, but only if the cost of the bauble pack wasn't way more than a normal box.

ButtonMoonLoon · 20/12/2015 18:28

Q1- Myself and my 4 year old DD
Q2- We loved them! We've actually saved the plastic baubles to keep glittery sprinkles and stuff in for arts and crafts!
Q3- DD loved the Oreo ones, I found them too sweet and preferred the Snowbites.
Q4- Yes, I would. I loved the packaging (see above) and think they look very different to anything else on the market. They'd be a little tricky to wrap, though......!

Thank you for the opportunity to try them :)

IWasThere4Aug12 · 20/12/2015 18:48

Q1. Myself, DH, DS8 and DS6
Q2. Loved them-just a shame they were too heavy to hang on the tree
Q3. We all loved them both but the snow bites were the favourite for taste. Preferred the Oreos ones being individually wrapped
Q4. I probably wouldn't buy them for us because they can't be hung on the tree and they're not great value just for the chocolate. May buy them as a small gift though

BlueBlueBelles · 20/12/2015 19:09

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
DS1 aged 9 and DS2 aged 7
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
"Cool" "great"
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
DS2 - snow ones, as tasted nicer. DS1 - snow ones, as liked the outside crunchy shell
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
DS1 said his teacher got some for Christmas so was really excited to see these, so think he will be recommending them on now to others :-)

deepdarkwood · 20/12/2015 19:44

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, Dh, Ds (11) & Ds (9)
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Very cute! The packaging is usual/different; and we enjoyed the chocolates themselves - esp the snowballs as they were especially christmassy feeling feeling

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
We liked both - but personally I much preferred the taste of the snowballs (Christmas mini eggs according to dd) - I like the texture combination.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes... But I wonder how much the packaging adds to the cost. its a funny level of product for me - not special enough for a big gift but I suspect a bit pricey for a token gift. I think we will reuse the packaging - but indefinitely too big/heavy to hang on our tree.

Thank you for the opportunity to try them - a lovely pre Christmas treat :-)

queenoftheschoolrun · 20/12/2015 20:27

Q1. 7 yr old DD, me and DH

Q2. Liked the bauble idea but it was actually too big and heavy to hang on the tree which was a shame. DD loved them.

Q3. I preferred the Oreos because they were individually wrapped so better for sharing round. Both flavours were a bit sweet for me but no complaints from DD or DH!

Q4. Yes, the Oreos one would be a good novelty gift when visiting families with young children.

Theimpossiblegirl · 20/12/2015 20:33

Q1. Me, DH and the DDs, age 12 & 14.
Q2. I like that they can be reused. They are a bit big for the tree though. They tasted great, much better than expected as tbh I think Cadbury's chocolate has gone downhill a bit. I had a Twirl recently and it was tiny!
Q3. The Oreos won unanimously.
Q4. Yes, if I was shopping with others and saw them I'd point them out.

LadyHonoriaDedlock · 20/12/2015 22:08

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
myself, teen ds and two little dds
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
when I first saw them I was a bit surprised as they were HUGE. Not what I was expecting. I was expecting a tree decoration like those little Cadbury's foil parcels. I wondered what the point of the container was if you couldn't hang it on the tree. The chocolates were great though
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
We all LOVED the Oreo ones and could have eaten them all day! The snow bites were nice, but the sugar coating is a bit tough and if you eat a whole packet it kind of takes the skin off the roof of your mouth.....
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? Not really, sorry, although the chocolate was so nice. If the baubles were smaller and could be used as tree decorations, yes. However as they are, I think it's really wasteful over packaging, as they will just be thrown away when the chocolate is gone. Great idea, execution needs tweaking. Thank you for choosing us as testers.

mshell1231 · 20/12/2015 23:06

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
I tried them along with my partner, my daughter (10) and my son (5).

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I think they were a nice idea. They are different to other chocolate treats available at Christmas. They would be a good stocking filler.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
I preferred the Oreo one as they were wrapped individually and haven't seen Oreo chocolates like that anywhere else.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend them.

Thank you for letting me and my family review them. Smile

PollyPerseid · 20/12/2015 23:31

Many thanks for letting our family of chocoholics taste these Cadbury's and MN, really pleased to take part in any chocolate tasting opportunity!

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

DD's, DH and me. Mainly me. No all of us, really. Xmas Grin

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

The packaging was cute, but way too heavy to hang on our tree. Luckily it was empty quite quickly so if the packaging had been clear and sparkly it might well still be on our tree. As it is, it's waiting to go into school to be recycled into some work of art.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Strangely enough it was the Oreo one, and I normally hate Oreos so I wasn't expecting to like them. They tasted delicious, very truffly with just a little crunch. The girls loved them too. We all adored the Snow Bites as we are big fans of Mini Eggs and these were like a Christmas version.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Despite the bad press Cadbury's has been getting of late for changing their recipe, we would recommend these as they tasted very good indeed, just like Cadbury's chocolate should taste like.

Happy Christmas to you all!

TheBestChocolateIsFree · 20/12/2015 23:32

Q1
DH, me, DD (13) and DS (11). DD is an indiscriminate chocoholic but the rest of us are a bit more discerning and DS is very hard to please.

Q2
I thought they were a bit different in packaging and made a change for a Xmas treat. They tasted nice enough, and came in small bite sized chunks which you could space out for diets and small DC.

Q3 I think I preferred the Oreos but DS went into raptures about the crunchy middle layer on the snowballs - he said it was like glass but in a good way.

Q4
Yes I might recommend them for someone who's in the market for a frivolous Christmas gift for children.

Birnamwood · 20/12/2015 23:42

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Myself and ds1 7 and ds2 4

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

They were very tasty and well packaged. Although I do need to mention that they didn't stay hung on my tree (like a bauble ) for very long! You'd need a reinforced artificial tree or a gigantic scots pine for the whole thing to stay attached for any length of time. Having said that, they didn't need to be on the tree for long before the boys descended upon them...
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

My favourite was the snowball one (I'm not a massive fan of Oreos) but the boys adored the Oreo ones

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, definitely
