Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
We all did - me, husband and 3 girls

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
We liked them for the novelty value, and the children were very excited by them.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
We prefer the snow bites as chocolates, but the Oreo one was better as a bauble because they were individually wrapped.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I don't think I'd buy them for the family because they're way too big to actually hang on the tree, and I don't like the huge waste of plastic, but maybe as a little gift for someone. I can see that the children might use the plastic baubles to put things in for a while and they really liked the excitement of opening them up, so they would definitely recommend them!

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, DC ages 18, 16, 12 & 11 all tried them.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Nice idea, I like the baubles packaging.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Oreo probably the favourite but both very good.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes definitely. They make a tasty treat and would make a good gift.
Thank you for letting us try them.

HeadfirstForHalos · 19/12/2015 11:44

Myself, my dh and our 4 dc(aged 13, 12, 10 and 8) tried the baubles while we sat down for family film night.

They went down a treat and there were no complaints, so the overall opinion of them was very positive.

They were both nice, but I found the Oreo ones a bit sickly (the rest of the family didn't), so my firm favourite was the Snow Bites. I love the crispy shell with the creamy chocolate inside, I love mini eggs for the same reason.

Yes I would recommend them as a treat. They taste nice and the bauble is reusable, my dd2 (10) has squirrelled then away, she wants to decorate them and refill then with more treats Grin

Thanks for the baubles, the dc and ourselves enjoyed being testers, the dc in particular felt very important!

Testers: Below are some questions we’d like you to answer but feel free to add any other thoughts you may have.
Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? Me, DH and DS (10)
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? I thought they were a great, fun idea. You can use them year after year and fill them with favourite Cadbury treats.....which I've already had to do because we've scoffed all the ones they came with Blush. They tasted great so we couldn't help it!
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? I loved the Snowbites one because I loved the contrast of crunch and chocolate - like festive mini eggs! DH & DS preferred the Oreo one (which meant more Snowbites for me)
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes - I think lots of my friends would like them and they're an ideal little stocking filler too.

OnMyShoulders · 19/12/2015 12:20

Thank you for choosing me to take part in this product test. Getting chocolate in the post is brilliant!

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

We all tried them - me, DH and the DC 14, 11, 9, 6 and 2.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

I really liked the way they were packaged. The outer 'bauble' was nice and big and the little individually wrapped Oreo chocolates were delightful. The small packets of Snow Bites were just the right size. We all thought that they were very tasty.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

DH and I preferred the Snow Bites but the DC preferred the Oreo chocolates.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would. I think they'd make a lovely festive treat for children.

BananaDaiquiri · 19/12/2015 12:26

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? Myself and my 2 girls who are 5 and 3
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? Nice idea, gimmicky for Xmas, but you could keep and re-use next year. Plus they were cat proof!
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? Well I thought the snow balls were scrummy until I tried the Oreo one, the oreo choccies were divine!
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, especially the Oreo one as they were so much nicer than I was expecting.

ShatnersBassoon · 19/12/2015 13:03

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, DH, DCs and grandma.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
We thought they looked very nice and would make a nice alternative to a selection box as a token gift at Christmas.

We weren't so keen on the taste of the chocolate inside, particularly the Oreo one which was far too sweet for the adults.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
The Snow Bites, but these would have been better for sharing if they were individually wrapped like the Oreo ones.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not particularly. Although we liked the presentation, the flavour wasn't good.

lionheart · 19/12/2015 13:52

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? My two DSs tried these. They have different tastes so one bauble went to each.
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? I rather like the idea of the bauble although I do not like a biscuit/chocolate combination, especially if the biscuit is an Oreo. It seems too much of an Anglo-American hybrid. That said, my DS thought it was delicious.
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? I prefer the snowy bauble because of the simplicity of it and the continuation of the Christmas theme.
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, I would but next time I will buy my own snow bauble and hide it. I have refilled the baubles with a new packet of snow treats and some other Cadbury chocolate and love the fact that you can recycle and reuse in this way.

emmabrown123 · 19/12/2015 15:09

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, my husband and DS (1) nicked a couple!

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Lovely! Really liked the idea of the bauble packaging (although they didn't last long on the tree. My DS also enjoyed playing with the empty bauble afterwards.

My only feedback would for them to be slightly smaller so they were easier to hand on the tree.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
It's was a tie in my household - I much preferred the Oreo one as I thought the sweets were tastier but DH preferred the Snowballs. He preferred the crunchiness of them.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I think they are a lovely unique idea and something different to the normal chocolate coins on the tree. I've already told my sister about them!

FromthePinkGlitterySide · 19/12/2015 15:32

Really enjoyed testing these!

DH and I tried them while the kids were at school Blush But we did save some for when they got home so DCs 8, 7 and 4 tried too!

We all actually really liked them. I was pleasantly surprised. The Oreo ones were lovely. As pp have said the snow balls were very much like mini eggs.

3 of us preferred the Oreo ones and 2 the snowball ones. I would probably buy the Oreo ones because they were in seperate wrappers.

I would recommend them and thought they were a nice Christmas treat!

monkeyplastic · 19/12/2015 15:49

My daughter, son, me and my husband tried them. They looked really good hung on the tree and I would definitely buy them again. The oreo were the favourite ones on our house!

TheUltimate · 19/12/2015 17:03

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Myself, DP and 4 year old DS
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

They were very nice, snow bites went down very well. They were too cumbersome to hang on the tree but they looked festive enough on display! The oreo ones were quite plain in taste but still liked.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Snow bites definitely, they were different and very nice! DS preferred. These too because there was more in a pack ;)

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes :)

StickChildNumberTwo · 19/12/2015 17:07

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? me, husband and 4 yr old daughter
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? We liked the chocolate, and the packaging was fun but it seems like an excessive amount of plastic for the amount of chocolate. I thought it worked better with the Oreos than the snow bites - it was a bit disappointing to only have 4 little bags in the bauble, not so easy to share. Random observation from my husband was that if you opened the snow bites where it said to the hole wasn't big enough to get them out!
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? Oreos won 2-1 here
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? I'd recommend the chocolates, not sure about the baubles - I suspect they'd fall foul of my 'maximum amount of chocolate per pound spent' criteria! I wouldn't put anyone off them though, just wouldn't be running around telling people to buy them. And I'm always a bit uncomfortable with how much excessive plastic gets bought and immediately thrown away at this time of year, and the baubles would come into that. (I'm no eco warrior, and I do buy plastic tat, but try not to buy stuff that will just be thrown away). They might be fun to decorate though which would make me feel less bad about them.

Thanks for the opportunity to test them, we did really enjoy the chocolate.

SleepIsForTheWeakAnyway · 19/12/2015 17:37

Q1. me and my DC (13,12 & 9)

Q2. I thought the packaging was quite festive which was good but were too big for the actually quantity of the chocolates within which incidentally was the reason I didn't buy them when I saw them in the shops. I didn't get to taste the Oreo ones as dc3 pinched those the second he saw them (which was fine as I dislike Oreos). I didn't mind the snow bites but I wouldn't buy them. I found them too sickly after about 3 of them. My DC didn't report the same issue however and the rest disappeared as if by magic.

Q3. Dc3 would say the Oreo whilst dc1 would say the snow bites.

Q4. I wouldn't recommend them as a Christmas treat mainly because I think of a treat as something special. Whilst these were OK they weren't really special. Certainly not something to be shared amongst the family. I might get them as a treat for my DC and their friends for a sleepover treat but I couldn't gift them for adults.

Thank you for letting me try them though.

MamaBerg · 19/12/2015 17:53

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me and hubby

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Its an interesting idea. I don't think they would go on a tree as they are far too big but would be good as a small present or stocking filler.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Snowbites are the best although the oreo ones were nice too. Also good they were individually wrapped so you have to at least put in effort to scoff them all at once! The thing is I wouldn't really call them Oreo. They were just a creamy centre with tiny gritty bits in.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would probably give as a small present rather than buy for our own family as a treat.

cornflakegirl · 19/12/2015 17:59

Thanks for sending us these chocolates to try. All four of us tried them - me, DH + 2 DC (6 and 10). The snow balls were very like mini eggs, and were my favourites. DH and the DC preferred the Oreos. DH said they reminded him of the old Dairy Milk biscuit bars.

We preferred the packaging if the Oreos where the sweets were individually wrapped..

Not entirely sure about the bauble idea. They're a bit big to really work on the tree, but I'm not sure I'd give a bauble as a gift. It feels like it isn't really a net of chocs that might go in a stocking, but it's also a bit small for an occasion when you might give eg a box of Roses. So I would happily eat the chocolates, but not sure I'd buy them in the bauble.

Leeanne2205 · 19/12/2015 19:41

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? My husband and my two year old.
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? Good size portion in the baubles liked individual wrapped and little bags. I think the the concept is good don't know if a branch on my christmas tree could hold a bauble up though.
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? The snow bites we found more tasty and nice crunchy shell reminds of mini eggs.
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes as a treat dependant on price of the bauble .

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Myself and my husband. Our children will try them if there are any left!

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I thought that they were a very good idea. Look good on the tree and you can take chocs out and then hang it back up.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
The Snow bites was our favourite. They were very tasty. The Oreo bites were a bit too sickly. I liked the idea of having single chocs in the Oreo bauble though as they would last longer.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would, because they are new and exciting and very tasty too. A differerent take on chocolate decorations for the tree and nice to share with family and friends.

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 19/12/2015 20:56
  1. Me, DH and two DCs.
  1. They were great, Christmassy and very yum. Snow Bites are amongst my favourites (DCs may not have got many of these Blush ). I hadn't tried Oreo chocs before and was a bit dubious as I don't like the biscuits, but with plenty of Cadburys mixed in they're very nice.
  1. Snow Bites. Always.
  1. Yes, I liked them a lot.
Solasum · 19/12/2015 21:04
  1. Me and DP. Would have given to DS(2) but the packaging warns against small children.
  1. Great idea. Format would also suit mini choc bars inside.
  1. I preferred Oreo, DP snowbites, which were far too sweet for me. Individual packaging definitely preferable.
  1. Yes, though I would not pay £4 a bauble. £3 is what I have seen in shops round is, reduced, which I would pay.

Best MN product test we have done yet!

Hoon · 19/12/2015 21:08

Hello and thanks for letting us try the chocs.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
So far our family have tried them - mum, dad, ds aged 8 and dd aged 6.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
The kids loved them as they were novel and contained chocolate. I liked the idea of a different 'brand' of chocolate treat other than the usual selection boxes, and for this role they were great as they weren't so big. However I can't imagine hanging them up anywhere as they seem too big for the Christmas tree and too unwieldy as a decoration. The packaging could have been a little more spangly christmassy perhaps. I also disliked that the snowballs were in packets inside. We emptied these into the bauble to share as otherwise everyone would have grabbed a packet and the bauble would be empty straight away. I much preferred the oreos on this front being singly wrapped hence more lovely to open up and better for sharing.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Three of us preferred the snowballs because of the crunch, ds preferred the Oreos. Both were popular with everyone though.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would to get away from the usual brands whilst still feeling it was a Christmassy treat. Perhaps having a mixed variety bauble would suit this even more.

Thanks again.

Eastpoint · 19/12/2015 21:15

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? dd14, me & dh
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? We thought the container was too big to go on a tree. DD didn't like the ribbon, she thought it looked a bit short (but the bauble looked too heavy to hang anyway)
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? dd & I both preferred the Oreo bauble, although neither of us like Oreos. Dh liked the snowbite too my surprise. I thought they were too mushy
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? We prefer Lindor - better flavor, less greasy. I don't know to whom I could give a bauble - maybe a family friend's child who was under 10? (None left in our family). They remind me of Easter Eggs.

Thank you for letting us try them, I don't think they are for us but I can see them filling a gap in the market.
