Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, dh, dd1 (5) and dd2 (2)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

We really liked them, they looked festive and tasted delicious. The only downside was that I had to cut them all in half for the two year old as they are choking-sized.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

The Oreo definitely - although we loved the snowballs as well.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, a perfect Christmas treat for the tree or stockings, or even a secret Santa gift.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 18/12/2015 16:29

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, DH and our 2DDs, aged 4 and 2.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

I was pleasantly surprised. I thought they were a lovely idea and would make a good gift. They're quite different to other chocolate products.
I liked that the chocolates were individually wrapped - it makes it (marginally) easier to not snaffle them all in one go, or means you can pop one in your coat pocket when you go out for a walk etc.
The bauble was fun, although too heavy to hang on the tree. It would be nice if it was sparklier. DD1 announced she was keeping them to put things in. I'm not sure what she has planned, but it's nice to have a reusable container.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Surprisingly it was the Oreo one, which I wasn't expecting to like at all. DD1 preferred the snow bites, but loved both and DH couldn't decide.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. They're fun and different. They'd make a nice little gift.

Q1. Who in your family tried the baubles?
Answer- My daughters, aged 10 and 8.
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Milk baubles overall?
Answer- The girls loved them. They were really excited when they opened the packet and saw them, particularly my younger daughter. They liked the shape, and were keen to try the contents!
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so which was it?
Answer- I thought they would both like the Oreo version best as it was something new and different, but actually they liked both varieties equally. Neither child had a favourite. I wanted to try them but can't eat Gluten so I couldn't eat the Oreo ones and the others were all gone! Not sure if they had gluten in either as there was no point in checking...
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury baubles as a present? If so why (or why not?)
Answer- Yes. They are a cute gift and the chocolate was very tasty according to my daughters. Great to put on the tree. I would like one maybe more sparkly looking, but other than that they are fab, either as a gift for a child, or a little neutral present for anyone. Nice little treats inside so great to share out when opened. much better than a big lump of something. I would buy one for my elderly Mum to share out when the children visit. The packaging helps to keep the chocolate fresh with the screw lid. A tin version would be lovely.

clopper · 18/12/2015 16:45

Q1 my two DD (21) and (12) and me tried them.
Q2 we were surprised how big they were and we liked the individual small packs of snow bites as they were easy to share out equally. Quite big to hang on our flimsy artificial tree.
Q3 we all loved the snow bites best but we are a family mad for mini eggs. Eldest DD loved the Oreo but I wasn't so keen but I'm not mad about Oreo biscuits.
Q4 yes I would recommend as a Christmas treat because there were enough to share in the big bauble and the packaging was Christmassy. Youngest DD has taken off the part of the purple outside covering and has stuffed it with tissue paper and things she has made ( small crafty items )to make her own new bauble ' present' for someone in the family.

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 18/12/2015 16:57

1- Myself, DP and DD have been sharing the baubles.
2- The baubles are a nice idea but I have issues with the waste as it's a lot of plastic to stick in the bin. The bauble isn't particularly decorative so I am not likely to put it on my tree. If it was made of tin, or had a nice pattern all over it and didn't look like a giant featureless plastic ball I'd maybe be inclined to use it as a decoration, but as it stands, it's a bit ugly.
3- We liked the snowballs bauble as it is an actual festive treat. (Although we do all really like oreo and liked them in individually wrapped balls-would probably buy these all year round though as they're not festive.)
4-DD was quite excited about it, I think children would receive them happily but the fact that it's a bit of unrequired plastic heading to the bin would put me off. Either pretty them up or find a suitable replacement. A little decorative card box to hang on the tree would be just as sufficient. You didn't need to put the sweets into a plastic bag when they are individually wrapped AND sealed inside a giant plastic egg. Just overkill.

peronel · 18/12/2015 16:58

!. My two children, ages 13 and 11 tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles.

  1. Overall quite good. I didn't like the heavy branding on my Christmas tree, I felt that the Cadbury's logo should be more discreet. However, my children loved the chocolate, particularly snow bites which were eaten within the day.
  2. Snow bites were the clear favourite.
  3. I would not recommend them, purely because I do not wish to advertise any product on my Christmas tree. Cadbury's colours are well known and the purple, white and gold design with a tiny logo would suffice in my opinion. Kids enjoyed the chocolate treat and it's a nice idea so I'd recommend if this change was made.
mummyzara2 · 18/12/2015 17:12

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? Me, My Fiancee, our 3 children 7yr old and 5yr old girls, and 3yr old boy.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? We all love the way they look, the children suggested next year we buy a mini tree and decorate it with just the "chocolate filled" baubles.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? I personally loved the SnowBites, I found the Oreo's a bit too sweet. My Fiancee didn't have a favourite, and our 3 children loved the SnowBites (not being keen on Oreo's in the first place.)

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes we would recommend these to everyone, for a little festive treat, a novelty gift for friends, family, teachers etc.... and a welcome change from a selection box :)

Thank you for letting us sample these, and a very Happy Christmas to all.

BathshebaDarkstone · 18/12/2015 17:16

I'll add my feedback when I get them. Bloody Royal Mail! Xmas Angry

adognamedboo · 18/12/2015 17:23
  1. Myself, dp and 2dc ages 8 and 11.
  2. I was ever so excited when they arrived and hung them on the tree. I think they're a nice size and colour, very festive looking.
  3. My favourite was the snow bites, I love the crispy shell. I like the individual wrapping, made it easy to take 1 or 2 to share. Dcs loved the oreo, they'd never tried Oreo dairy milk before.
  4. Yes definitely recommend, I think you get a good amount of chocolate for the price. I love the novelty factor, much more festive than a tin of chocolates. I'm going to buy a couple for the family. I do agree that a bit of glitter would add to the 'gift' feeling.
We are now redecorating the containers to make snow globes with Grin
Missydurrani · 18/12/2015 17:31

First of all thanks for letting me try this yummy treat.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Myself, husband, my 6 years old son and the 11 months old baby girl snatched some from her brother's hand so technically we all did lol Xmas Grin
And before someone accuses me of being a bad mum, I don't let my baby eat sweets chocolates etc usually but when we are eating something I let her taste everything a little bit so she can explore different tastes and textures.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I was surprised to receive them in the post as I wasn't expecting any. I couldn't wait for everyone to get home so I opened both and tried them and I must admit the Oreo ones are ADDICTING. I think the packaging was quite nice and festive.
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
The Oreo ones was super tasty and to be honest I ate half of it in one go.
My son liked the other one better, for being good in school he gets one as a treat everyday.
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would definitely recommend it because of the novelty of it and the taste. It makes a nice little present and yummy too.

MrsLittner · 18/12/2015 17:36

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, DH and DS(7) all tried them.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

We really liked them, we thought the snow bites were going to be a bit sweet and sickly but they were lovely.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Definitely the Oreos. They didn't last long tbh. Nice chocolate and liked the fact that they were individually wrapped.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I'd recommend them although I had no idea what the rrp was until I read this thread. They are probably too big to hang on the tree but would make a nice gift or treat.

yearofthehorse · 18/12/2015 17:40

Q1 Me, DH and 4 of the kids.
Q2 We all loved them. They are too big and heavy to hang on the tree but look fantastic on the mantelpiece.
Q3 The kids preferred the Snow Bites as a longstanding Christmas favourite. I thought the contents of this one for the size of the bauble, seemed a little bit mean. I preferred the novelty and sharing ability of the Oreos as haven't had it before.
Q4 Definitely. I really loved them and they seem so much more special than just a packet of sweets.

Thanks so much for the opportunity, it's been a real treat.

Flumplet · 18/12/2015 17:44

I didn't get any baubles to try and I was accepted on to the testing panel!!

RVPisnomore · 18/12/2015 18:50

Q1 - myself (45), DH (42), DS (7)
Q2 - the packaging was very nice to look at but were too heavy to hang on the tree and were difficult to get into. The actual chocolates were really nice and having them individually wrapped was a nice touch
Q3 - the Oreo's were the hands down favourite, the other chocolates whilst nice were a little too sweet/sickly
Q4 - yes, especially the Oreo bauble. We felt these would be a nice stocking filler or small chocolate gift that was a little different to the usual chocolate style presents.

We look forward to testing the next set of chocolates as we take the role very seriously Smile

Loula117 · 18/12/2015 19:24

Thank you very much for the chance to test these - caused much excitement in the household!

Q1. We all tried them, DH and i (aged 39) and two boys, aged 7 and 10.
Q2. The packaging was quite fun but really far too big to consider hanging on a tree. (and I'm a bit precious about my beautiful vintage and handmade decorations so they probably wouldn't get a look in anyway!) We liked them both, but everyone preferred the Snow Bites, the oreos were a bit too sweet and the oreo pieces too tiny to be really noticeable, just a bit gritty.
Q3. Definitely the Snow Bites flavour wise but it was nice that the oreos came individually wrapped.
Q4. I probably wouldn't buy the baubles for our household generally, I think you'd be paying more for the packaging than the sweets, but as a little token gift for a child to take to a friend's house near Christmas, definitely. Father Christmas might consider popping them in a stocking.

katiewalters · 18/12/2015 19:29

The whole family tried the baubles; myself, my partner, my 6year old son and my 2 year old daughter.

We all really liked them, especially the snow bites. They were all our favourites out of the 2. I didn't think the oreo ones tasted anything like actual oreos, but they were still nice.

I would recommend them, but I think the price of what they are in the shops is more than I would expect to pay, for what you actually get

BabyLinthwaite · 18/12/2015 19:38

There is myself and my husband and we have a 17 month old little girl only me and my husband tried it infected we ate the whole lot and had to go out and buy more really nice very Moorish and brilliant with a cup of tea or coffee

I really enjoyed them they kind of melting your mouth very nice

I'll eat the whole lot everything on one of them I do like the snow bite because I like care the year powdered sugar the icing sugar on them and the kind of crunch when you buy into one to the rather nice silky ones with a cup of tea as well. But I also like the plane normal cabarets that wrapped up in foil that you hang up on the Christmas tree they are delicious.

Oh yes I would deafly recommend them exactly we often buy them family members to put on their trees they find it very difficult to actually find the caramel ones in stock in most of their supermarkets and everything and because I live in a big city I can find some and tie and buy an extra but they don't last long on my tree

villagefox · 18/12/2015 19:43

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
I took the chocolates to my parents house after the last day of school, inviting my sisters and their children and taking my son. In total 4 adults and 3 children (aged 4, 5 and 10) sampled the chocolate. Given the size and shape of the chocolate another child aged 2 did not!

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
They were a hit here. We all loved the idea that they were in a bauble and the adults had seen them before (but not purchased them). We liked the fact that the Oreo chocolates were individually wrapped. The only down sides were that given that they were round balls young children really should not eat them. Also the snow bites left a snowy white reside on the floor where they were dropped.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
All the adults like the snow bites - they reminded us if mini eggs which we reflected you could only get at Easter. The children preferred the Oreo chocolates which all the adults found a little too sweet.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
We thought that they were great. I don't know if I would put them on my tree as they were quite heavy. However they would be prefect as gifts or as chocolate snacks left on the side (without their tops). The 4 and 5 year olds have the containers to put their 'treasures' in.

GoingGoingGoth · 18/12/2015 20:03

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Myself, husband & 11yo daughter

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Daughter loved the packaging (has been planning craft ideas since they arrived) I was surprised at size when they arrived (I think the postman was very curious)
Nice amount of sweets in each package, I preferred that the Oreos were individually wrapped as a whole package of Snow Bites were too big for me at one sitting (daughter didn't mind finishing them off)

Snow bites - taste nice & we all really liked the crunchy shell
Oreo bites - smooth & milky, I don't like Oreos so was pleasantly surprised. Daughter was very excited at trying these, but still preferred the others.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
We all preferred the Snow Bites because of the crunch, the Oreos being creamy are very similar to other Christmas treats.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes. Would quite happily recommend both.

DrSausagedog · 18/12/2015 20:09

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Myself and DD age 4 tried them.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I liked the original packaging and design. I don't think I would actually hang it from the tree, but it felt a bit special and different as a Christmas treat.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
The snow bites one, as i like the crunchy sensation when biting into them.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would, as they are something a little bit different and special compared to the usual boxes of chocolates etc.

Cookez · 18/12/2015 20:14

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Myself and my 15 yr old and my 11 yr old daughters.
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
We loved them! the packaging was really lovely and I would definitely buy these for stocking fillers.
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
visually our favourite was the oreos bauble as the chocolates inside were individually wrapped which made it look extra special. Taste wise hands down the snow bites bauble won. The snow bites came in small sealed packets with a handful in each and the crispy shell around the chocolate is a winner.
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would definitely reccommend them as they were beautifully packaged. They would be a real treat for all age groups, they certainly weren't just for children.

vickipickernicker · 18/12/2015 20:16

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Myself and 5 year old son

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Looks special being a large bauble shape, could reuse plastic bauble.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
The snow bites one was best, reminded me of mini eggs with crispy outer shell.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me,hubby,Scott & Tamzin

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

Loved them, really great design & the taste of Cadbury made them a real favourite.great size bigger than I,d have imagined,so that was an added bonus.I,d certainly buy them for gifts as well as selection boxes..as these are different & very appealing ,especially for smaller members of our families.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Defo Oreos for us adults. But the kids loved the gooey snowballs

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Most certainly we would, they are fab & the fact you can hang on the tree is great.
Makes a great treat in novel packaging 10/10 loved them

kierie · 18/12/2015 20:25
  1. Myself, my husband and my son (4) all tried them.
  2. We were surprised that they were so big, they didn't really fit the bauble description, as there's no way they would have gone on the tree. The packaging didnt really work for us, as you couldn't see the design unless they are hanging. I'm not sure how attractive they would look on a shop shelf. I liked the screw top lid, as it did stay secured. I think it should be more obvious that the snow bites are in four individual packets. Most families would have more than four people wanting a pack each.
Both chocolates were tasty. They went down well and we particularly liked the oreos.
  1. The oreos as they were individually wrapped and tasted better.
  2. I'd recommend the oreos as they are good for sharing, tasted great and all the family wanted more!
