Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, my dh plus DS1(14) and DS2(12)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

We thought they were a good idea. We liked the packaging. The baubles held more chocolates than I thought they would.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Our favourite was definitely the snow balls. They reminded us of mini eggs but with snow on!

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend them, but would want to know the price first. I like the fact that the bauble could be re-filled and sealed again. Probably be too big to be hung from a tree. I think they would make a nice gift.

CharleyDavidson · 18/12/2015 20:48

How did people get to try out the baubles?

I signed up and was accepted onto the testing panel to be told we'd be contacted at various points with product tests. Wasn't contacted about this one, or anything else at all Cadbury related so far either.

Sharjeeka · 18/12/2015 20:59

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles? All of us, myself and husband started them one evening and let the kids (2 & 4) try them the next day.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall? Overall they were brilliant, kids and hubby were excited just by the packaging, it is fun and childproof, my children couldn't get into it even when I showed them how! The Oreo bites were lovely and I liked that they were individually wrapped, the snow bites were good too. The baubles are currently in the toy box being reused in many different ways. They were way too heavy and big to hang on the tree, but I'm not going to complain about that! They're also an awkward size to fit in a stocking but it wouldn't stop me buying them in the future.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it? No favourite but if I was only buying one o would go for the Oreo purely as they are individually wrapped making them easier to share.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes I think I will buy them in future and I would gift them too. Nice change from a box of chocs to take over to someone's house at Christmas.

Thanks for choosing us to test a lovely product.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, DH and DD1 (6)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Love the look and design of it, but slightly difficult to remove the lid. Although expected it to be smaller and more bauble size, I was pleasantly surprised by how it it was. The Snowballs coming in small bags was great, as we took them out for "treats", and it meant I didn't eat them all in one go. The Oreo ones we tried for the first time and they were surprisingly nice - not as sweet as I expected. DD enjoyed both chocolates and found the baubles quite "fun".

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
We loved the Snowball ones. Tastes great and love the small packets.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend as a Christmas treat, as it makes a nice change from the usual children's chocolate selection. Would even buy for my friend's children!

TimeForChristmasSpirit · 18/12/2015 21:26

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me and DD were the testers

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Loved them! Nice Christmas concept. Attractive, novel and held a lot of treats.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Absolutely we did! We both loved the Oreo bauble the best.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would. I think they make a nice pre-Christmas treat/gift. The cat loved playing with the empty bauble!

Thank you very much for the opportunity to test.

lolapops1 · 18/12/2015 21:35

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Myself,partner,kids age 4&1
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Amazing I/we really enjoyed them.
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
The oreo one which is weird as usually I am not keen on oreo biscuits but these had the right ratio of chocolate to oreo biscuit for me. I wanted to eat them all!
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would and already have. Not sure I would give the snowballs one to a small child as the shell is really hard,I had to bite them and give to 1 year old. Great treat for adults and children.

Cherry321 · 18/12/2015 21:44
  1. Me, husband and son aged 3.
  2. Yes did like the baubles, did feel there was quite a lot of packaging, so think some innovative ways to use the packaging once the chocolate is gone would be good. Liked that they were sealed.
  3. Favourite was definitely the oreo one, liked the individually wrapped sweets and that they were a bit different. Did feel the oreo sweets could have a bit more biscuit crunch.
  4. Yes would recommend, think they would be a nice little gift and are a bit different. Still think the packaging is a bit excessive though!
RumAppleGinger · 18/12/2015 21:46

Thanks very much for choosing me to test these, they went down a treat.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, DS(5) and DH

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

Really liked them they make a cute wee present. Although I don't think I would just buy them for myself as the packaging is pretty bulky. If I could just buy a bag of the Oreo sweets I would every week

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

Definitely the Oreo one. We'd had the snowballs before but the Oreo chocs were new to us.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would they were delicious.

firsttimekat · 18/12/2015 21:48
  1. Me & DH. I was pleased to see that DS could have them as well, he has a soya allergy and can't eat most Cadbury chocolate but these were OK. Unfortunately he didn't get any as we scoffed them all!
  1. It was a fun novelty idea, although bigger than I expected. The snow bites are just Easter mini eggs with a slightly more powdery finish, which I wasn't keen on, would prefer the mini eggs!
  1. Preferred the individually wrapped Oreo ones.
  1. Maybe, as a one off novelty but not sure I'd buy them again.
Lilliana · 18/12/2015 21:56

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, DH and DD (3)

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I liked the packaging and was pleased that they were quite full (I hate it when the box is half empty before you start)

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
I liked the snow bites, DH liked the Oreos. I thought the Oreos were too sweet but loved the snowy ones - they tasted like mini eggs! DH has a real sweet tooth.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, they are too heavy to put on the tree but seem good value and are perfect to share. The packaging looks great and I like that the Oreo ones are individually wrapped. Would definitely have them again

elpth · 18/12/2015 22:08

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, DH and DD (age almost 3)
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
Bit gimmicky packaging and too large to hang on most trees but fun. The chocolate itself was okay given that Dairy Milk isn't the same as it used to be. They were basically sweet and cloying enough that, if you have a sweet tooth like me, you like them although it would be better if they were more chocolatey.
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
I expected to like the snow bites better and so did DH as neither of us are particular Oreos fans. Plus I don't think Cadbury's (an iconic British brand) and Oreos (an iconic American brand) are a good match in theory. DD liked both as she doesn't get chocolate very often so takes whatever she gets! When we tasted the choc though, both DH and I preferred the Oreos ones. The combination worked really well together and they were v moreish. We opened the snow bites the next night (saving "the best" for last). We were surprised and disappointed that they were not individually wrapped and thought they tasted like inferior mini eggs so were disappointed with that too. They were okay but the lack of decent old recipe dairy milk plus the almost mini eggs but not as good coating wasn't a winning combination. I actually managed to sit on one of the Oreo ones for ages by mistake and it didn't melt at all which tells you something about the quality of the "chocolate". Please bring back the old recipe!
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, more so the Oreo ones than the snow bites and depending on cost. There's a lot of packaging for not much chocolate so I wouldn't say there was more than £1 worth of chocolate there but I suspect the RRP is higher. If they were lying around my office for sharing, I would eat them again but more the Oreos than the snow bites.

mummyeme · 18/12/2015 22:53

Who in your family tried the Christmas baubles?
Me, myself and my mum.
What did you think of the baubles overall?
Lovely idea, I was planning to buy my daughter one of these as a treat when I saw it in the shop so was a great surprise when these arrived.
Did you have a favourite bauble overall? If so which was it?
Definitely the Oreo one, the chocolates were delicious and really a treat, creamy and soft. These were my mum and daughters favourites too.
Would you recommend the Cadbury baubles as a Christmas treat, if not why not?
I'd definitely buy the Oreo bauble again and actively look for them I would recommend these to friends.
However the snow bites were disappointing, too crunchy and dry so I wouldn't buy these again which was disappointing as they looked an Inticing concept and were a nice Christmassy idea.
Thankyou for including me mumsnet!

ScarlettDarling · 18/12/2015 23:09

Many thanks for the chance to try these Cadbury's baubles, we were very excited to receive them!

The baubles were (v eagerly!) sampled by me, Dh, ds (11) and dd (8).

Overall, we really liked these products. Loved the novelty presentation, although ds commented that they'd have been better packaged in material which could be recycled. We were pleased with the amount of sweets in the Oreo bauble, but as the Snow Bites were in 4 small packets inside the bauble, it seemed as if there wasn't as much chocolate to go around!

Which bauble was our favourite? Well, we were split! Me and dd loved the Snow bites, although we both commented that we'd prefer the snow bites to be 'loose' rather than in packets. DH and ds preferred the Oreo bauble. They loved the combination of their favourite biscuit with their favourite chocolate. Dh commented that they went particularly well with a nice cuppa!

I would most definitely recommend these products as a Christmas treat. I've actually gone out and bought four more baubles already, (2 of each variety!,) to give to my niece and nephews to pad out their Christmas presents! We'd love to see some different varieties of these baubles next Christmas and would definitely buy them as a little treat.

Flapdoodles · 18/12/2015 23:14

Firstly, thank you for the opportunity to try these.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Myself, DD aged 7 and DS aged 9
Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
I loved that the Oreos were individually wrapped, the snowbites were popular with the kids but I would have preferred them to be individually wrapped rather than small bags.
Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
I preferred the Oreos, creamy and tasty - I thought the snowbites were a bit sickly.
Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend them, they make a nice treat and look good- especially for Christmas. I like that the bauble is reusable, we took the outer plastic cover off and DD has stored some jewellery in hers.

MegBusset · 18/12/2015 23:22

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me and the DC (age 6 and 8).

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
They were a bit awkward to hang on the tree and then open and close, and didn't exactly look classy on the tree, although our tree is covered in tat anyway so it didn't matter! The kids thought they were brilliant and enjoyed eating the chocolate. I wonder about the excessive packaging, it's a lot of plastic for a small amount of chocolate.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
The Oreos as it felt like you got more. The Snow Bites one only had four little packets in which felt a bit meagre. We liked the taste of them both though.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Would depend on the cost really. I wouldn't pay more than £1 but at that price as an occasional treat, sure, why not.

Houseof5boys · 18/12/2015 23:57

Q1 We all tried them; me, DH and 3 ds (12,9,6).
Q2 DH and I loved the snowballs but weren't so keen on the Oreo, they would be better with a bit more biscuit in them. The DC enjoyed them both and have been pestering me to buy more of the Oreo ones. I found the packaging a bit too much for the amount of chocolate you get and feel they are too big to actually hang on a tree as a bauble.
Q3 We are split over our favourite; Dh and I prefer the snowballs and the dc the Oreo.
Q4 If it was up to me I wouldn't buy them or recommend them in their current form; the packaging is far too big and for the £3 Sainsburys were asking (on offer) I feel it's too expensive. They would be better in a smaller bauble at a lower price. Having said that the dc are desperate for more of the Oreo ones so I guess they don't agree!

BillMurrey · 19/12/2015 00:22

Do we have to have tried these by a certain date? I'm hoping I can keep these as stocking fillers for the dc.

Looking forward to trying them though Smile Chocolate

MarkingMyPlace9 · 19/12/2015 00:33

Q1. Me, My Son (2 and 1/2) and my DH
Q2. I thought they were really cute, and good for Stocking Fillers or a 'Teacher' Present
Q3. I preferred the Oreo one, as did my DS, but my DH preferred the Snowball one
Q4. I actually don't know the current price of them! I would recommend them, but it really would depend on the Price. You do get a lot of Chocolate in them, and the Bauble is nice for the Kids to play with/Hang up on the Tree afterwards

foxessocks · 19/12/2015 00:38

Q1. Me and my husband as 2yo dd was more interested in scoffing her advent calender chocolate!
Q2 I liked them and thought I'd buy for presents in future
Q3 I preferred the snowball one just because the oreo one was a little bit too sweet. Dh agreed, he wasn't too keen on the oreos..I'm fact we haven't finished the oreos so they must be too sweet!
Q4 yes I'd recommend they're good for gifts.

Anneb62 · 19/12/2015 00:58

Q1.Me,my partner and the kids aged 14yrs and 15yrs tried the dairy milk baubles
Q2. We all loved the baubles, they are very festive, but would like to have various sizes and hang them on our tree.
Q3.The females ( me and 15yr old) thought the snow bites were fantastic,1packet contained enough sweets for 1 person, the males preferred the Oreo.
Q4. We loved letting our friends and relatives sample the sweets and they all loved the snow bites but not all of them liked the Oreo but every one of them said they would buy the baubles and hang them on there tree or other decoration,I would also add special treats to them ie,jewellery.

UpTownFuck · 19/12/2015 01:13
  1. Me, DP and Ds all tried the baubles
  1. Can honestly say we all loved them and they didn't last two days! Xmas Blush
  1. My favourite bauble was the Oreo one, my god that stuff was amazing and went down far to easily, wasn't that keen on the snowballs as they reminded me of mini eggs and not keen on them either
  1. Would defiantly recommend them as a Xmas treat as they are the nicest chocolates I've eaten from Cadburys in a while and comes in fun packaging what's not to like!
MetallicBeige · 19/12/2015 04:13

Thank you for letting us try the treats, the DC were thrilled!

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?

Me, dh and my dc aged 8 and 4.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?

The packaging was fun and held quite a lot. The mini bags of Snow Bites went down well, they shared one between them as the portions were generous. (I managed one bag by myself Wink ). The dc have since used the packaging as storage for their Shopkins toys and enjoy carrying them around.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?

For me it was the Snow Bites because I love them, dc probably preferred the Oreo as they loved delving into the individually wrapped chocolates. Of which there were loads.
I prefer the chocolate in the Snow Bites, it tastes more like traditional Dairy Milk for some reason. I found the Oreo shells tasted brittle and greasy, though the inside is lovely.

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, If buying them for gifts myself is recommendation enough. I think they make a nice little stocking filler for all ages.

SmileAndNod · 19/12/2015 06:50

Q1. Who in your family tried the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles?
Me, DH plus DCS aged 8, 5 and 2.

Q2. What did you think of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles overall?
We loved them. They didn't last long at all. Looked festive and tasted good.

Q3. Did you have a favourite bauble? If so, which was it?
Our favourite was the Oreo version. Though we didn't dislike the snow balls either!

Q4. Would you recommend Cadbury Dairy Milk Baubles as a Christmas treat? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I've not spotted them on the shelves around here though. I think they'd make a good gift /stocking filler.

Thank you for letting us test, the children loved taking partSmile

Miaow1234 · 19/12/2015 07:20

Myself, my daughter and husband tried.
Love the idea of them hanging on tree and one bite chocolates so not all eaten at once.
Oreo bauble best as single chocolates which I prefer to the packets.
Yes I would recommend as something to share and portion control. You can reuse the bauble too. Although I prefer Oreo bauble.

Miaow1234 · 19/12/2015 07:21

I think this one was separate to Cadbury panel as it was on product trial thread.
