Age: 6 months
Size 4 nappies
Overall, how satisfied were you with Pampers Baby-Dry Pants?
Very satisfied. My daughter normally sleeps from around 6pm/7pm through to 8am so we needed a nappy that didn't leave her clammy and wet overnight. These nappies were perfect, performed well against many of the supermarket brands and were preferable to the standard baby dry nappies (in terms of fit, comfort). Only downside is the price.
- How did Pampers Baby-Dry Pants perform through the day and at night time?
No issues at all - during the day it kept her nice and dry. We tend to change her nappy every feed (every 3 hours or so) and she stayed nice and dry with no nappy rash or soreness. No issues getting the nappy on her, and we liked the tear strip feature which made the nappy easier to take off. This came in very handy for when she had done a poo! We also noticed that because the fit was better and the nappy actually stayed in place, we had less poo related accidents where poo had leaked onto her clothes. One very happy mummy! Overnight, they were excellent. She sleeps 12-13 hrs overnight and we had no issues at all.
I love the fact that these nappies don't appear to mark or dig in to my daughters hip like many nappies do. She seems a lot more comfortable in them and they seem to fit her well compared to other nappies in the pampers range and other brands.
- How would you rate the dryness of the pants?
Excellent protection - no nappy rash, no clamminess, kept her bum dry all night long which allowed her to sleep in peace.
- Would you consider buying them in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would love to buy them again but I do think they should be more competitively priced. We went to buy them from Boots but found that the pants appeared to come in small sized packs and were not on special offer. I've struggled to find them anywhere on a good deal that it is similarly priced to the standard baby dry nappies. I see the standard baby dry nappies on offer for 2 for £20 (86 pack) which meant I paid £20 for 172 nappies (less than 12p each). To buy the pants version - £13 for 72 nappies - 18p per nappy! Doesn't sound like a huge difference, but from a consumer perspective I'd need to spend £26 to get 144 pants compared to paying £20 for 172 nappies. It's a no brainer really - especially when pampers are a premium compared to supermarket brands.
I do think they are worth paying a small amount extra for but I do think they need to be included in promotions in order to make them more affordable.
Additionally, I don't really understand why you sell a 94 nappy box in normal nappies but only sell the pants in 72 packs?
- Did the trial convince you that pants are not just for potty training or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely. Before the trial, my husband and I never knew that you could buy nappy pants for young babies. These pants are fantastic. When we go away on holiday to see family we will definitely buy some. We've had a few incidents where well meaning family members have not put the nappy on correctly and our daughter has ended up wetting herself! Also, not all family members are confident on how to change a nappy - these pants are perfect and uncomplicated. Less hassle all round!
- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Baby-Dry Pants to other parents for dryness and fit?
Already have done so - we were really happy with the fit of these nappies. They looked comfortable and not too bulky, they kept my daughter dry all night long, no leakages, no painful marks from the nappies themselves - overall, extremely happy.
