This is the feedback thread for the MNers who - along with their baby aged up to 6 months who are trying WaterWipes.

Here's what WaterWipes says: "Every time we change our baby's nappies, or use a wipe on their messy face or hands, we can be (without realising it) swabbing their sensitive, delicate, and highly absorbent skin with chemicals. Even when we reach for wipes labelled as "natural" or "sensitive", we do not realize how many ingredients and chemicals they actually contain, as we seldom scrutinise the ingredient list. WaterWipes contain only 2 ingredients: 99.9% Water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract. Non-irritating to even the most sensitive of children’s or Mums’ skin, WaterWipes help prevent and alleviate nappy rash and other sensitive skin conditions. WaterWipes are the only baby wipe ever to be endorsed by Allergy UK."

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Please also remember to complete the short survey we email you!

All who take part and who add feedback as required will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice.

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

I really enjoyed using the WaterWipes. I found them to be easier to clean up the messier jobs and had the opposite experience to a lot of other testers where the wipes only came out one at a time and it was the first thing I commented on to my partner. They were thicker and therefore I used less of them per bum clean.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

It did make me think as my baby had a negative reaction to Huggies when he was a couple of weeks old. However, it has not made me reconsider using other sensitive brands for that point alone.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

I did use the wipes often for wiping my sons face as he is a sicky and dribbly baby and due to knowing the ingredients I didn't hesitate or worry about possible effects. I will also use them when it comes to weaning.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

I have already recommended them to other parents and purchased a multipack box for myself. I do find the price quite high but was fortunate to get the wipes in a sale. If other sensitive wipes effected my son or he was having a particularly sore time I wouldn't hesitate to use them. I think they will be very beneficial for any child who has sensitive skin as you do not need to apply as much pressure as others to remove dirt.

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer

They are thicker, which doesn't really matter.. and wetter, which does, because the wiped bum doesn't dry as quickly! The combination makes the pack noticeably heavier to carry around.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

It made me think more about what's in these ones. The small print also mentioned that they can go mouldy a while after opening! And they talked about them being in more danger of drying out.. if so, they should provide a better opening because it's actually flimsier than most; more likely to split.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

In most cases, these are slightly less suitable than regular wipes. I'd only choose these watery ones if skin irritation from regular wipes was actually a problem.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Not really, UNLESS the fluids in the normal ones are actually causing irritation. Normal ones are slightly antiseptic, and dry faster on the skin - both useful characteristics.

I think these wipes are trying to address a problem which either they've invented, or which affects relatively few parents. They're whispering to you that if you don't buy them you're a bad parent. Fancy exposing your precious babykins to all those harsh chemicals! Bah and, indeed, humbug. All baby wipes are intended for baby skin and dermatologically tested.

In general WaterWipes are slightly less practical than ordinary wipes.. and apparently more expensive, although I won't be bothering to find out.

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

I found them a lot moister and also stronger than other pure wipes. Yes, they were more durable and I found they cleaned up better.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

Yes, it was something I hadn't thought about before and I noticed less irritation on my baby's skin.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

Definitely. I started trying them out on my face for makeup removal and found they worked well!

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

I would definitely recommend them, though I have no idea what the price point for waterwipes is. If it's in line with other wipes, I would buy them again. Haven't seen them in the stores yet though.

leoteddy · 16/07/2015 14:58

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

They are very thick and soft. They are preferable to mist other brands I've tried

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

Yes it made me think about how necessary the ingredients in other wipes are

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

I found that the wipes were idea for sore, teething cheeks and dribble rash as they are gentle

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

I absolutely recommend these wipes, the only thing I do not like about them is the packaging. The wipe packet leaks. They could do with a plastic flip top lid as seen on some other brands.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 16/07/2015 15:38

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable? we found them easy to pull our the packet unlike some that you end up pulling several out in one go. We found them wetter than normal wipes which meant they cleaned more effectively and we used less. They were stronger and didn't rip or tear. I don't think they were any softer than other wipes.
Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes? yes it did, I questioned the chemicals used in other wipes and why they were needed.
Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation? yes I think they could be used for wiping faces and probably wouldn't cause any irritation. I did use them to wipe my refluxy ewborns hand and face.
Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not? I would recommend them to parents for the quality however I do think they are very expensive compared to other brands and if you were concerned about chemicals then it would be cheaper to use cotton wool or a flannel with water. I also found the pack heavier than my normal pack of wipes which meant I didn't want to be carrying them around in the changing bag.

ChineseFireball · 16/07/2015 15:47

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

The WaterWipes were much thicker and "bouncier" than some other brands and definitely felt wetter. I did find that they felt as though they "dragged" a little bit on the skin though - didn't glide as well as some other brands. They seemed to clump together a bit when removing them from the pack so it was sometimes difficult to remove just one wipe. Overall though I liked them and the fragrance was very pleasant.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

It did - but I'm not hugely worried about the ingredients in my usual brand of wipes because they don't provoke any unwanted reactions on my baby's skin and I am happy with their performance.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

Absolutely. However they are fairly expensive so would need to be bought when on offer! I preferred them to my usual wipes for hand washing because they didn't feel as though they left a residue.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend them but as mentioned above, would also suggest buying in bulk when on offer as they are expensive. My view on wipes is to buy the cheapest you can that do the job because essentially you are just throwing them away. Of course you can use reusable wipes etc but this product is disposable!

JessGG · 16/07/2015 16:12

Q1. I absolutely loved these wipes. So much softer than the usual ones I used and really strong too. Felt silky smooth on my little one and I didn't use as many as I normally do.

Q2. Yes, using these wipes with just two ingredients made me feel sad I'd used ones with chemicals on my other children, especially as these are better in all aspects anyway.

Q3. Yes, I used these wipes for everything around the house - with my older children at mealtimes, and for cleaning up messes. Really effective and it was great knowing they were gentle on my toddlers too.

Q4. I would absolutely recommend Water Wipes and already have done to my friends and family - I'll be using now whenever I can (if I find them on offer, as they cost quite a bit).

Clarabell33 · 16/07/2015 17:27

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

I didn’t notice a difference in thickness or softness, but they did seem larger than other wipes we’ve used. They did the sometimes very messy job just as well as any other wipes we’ve tried.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

Yes. We have found that other wipes sometimes leave a sticky feeling which isn’t very nice if you need to use them on your baby’s face or hands. WaterWipes didn’t seem to leave this sticky feeling.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

Definitely, I really liked that the WaterWipes didn’t leave any residue or stickiness, and they have been great for a quick freshen-up in hot weather - for me as well as my son!

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Yes, main reason being that they don’t leave you feeling sticky, so have many more uses than just for nappy changes.

Sammra · 16/07/2015 17:56

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

I've been using the wipes for a while before doing this review. I have three children and use them for different purposes including nappy changes. I did notice a difference between the other brands and Waterwipes. They are much stronger and don't break when removing from the pack or during use. They are soft and wetter And clean well but for nappy changes I sometimes find them too wet so I need to dry my baby's bottom after using them. This however I do not find a problem as I'd rather use a dry cloth after Wetwipe and not have a baby bottom with nappy rash than use a more drier ordinary wipe and develop a nappy rash. They are definitely more durable it they stick to one another too much that sometimes I end up with a few out of the packet when I just wanted one.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

I like the fact that the wipes had only two ingredients and they are natural. Two of my children have sensitive skin and I devel the same after pregnancies so I find these much kinder to the skin. I used to use water and cotton wool for nappy changes for a long time and now I use the WetWipes. much more practical and still skin friendly.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

I use the wipes for wiping mucky faces and hands (I have a 10 month old who's learning to self feed; a three year old who's constantly ending up with a chocolate face and a 6 year old who's mostly ok but sometimes needs her sticker hands wiped). Very skin friendly.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

I would definitely recommend them. I have stopped using other brands unless no alternative. They do exactly as they say on the packet. They do cost more but very often you'll find them on sale on Amazon or Ocado.

VikingLady · 16/07/2015 18:22
  1. They were very robust compared to most brands, which is good! Easy to use and very efficient.

  2. I hadn't really thought much about what was in baby wipes since my elder dd was tiny. I used the water wipes mainly in my baby DS (2m then) and on the odd occasion I needed to use another brand I really was a bit concerned about the ingredients. And I've noticed him developing redness with other wipes...

  3. I used them to clean faces and hands too, especially my toddler DD. the ingredients made me feel it was better when some is sure to go into her mouth! And they don't leave a smell behind.

  4. I've recommended them to everyone!

NotBeingRudeBut · 16/07/2015 18:49

Q1. I really liked using WaterWipes. They felt really think and strong and they did a great job of cleaning my baby's little bottom. They felt more robust than other brands I've used - some others have torn during use but I didn't have this problem with WaterWipes. Definitely more durable.

Q2. Yes it made me wonder what could be in the other brands, and I started to worry slightly that I may have been exposing my baby's skin to unnecessary chemicals.

Q3. Yes I definitely think WaterWipes are suitable for other uses -I wouldn't have a problem using them to wipe my child's face or hands. In fact, they'd come in very handy.

Q4. Yes I would definitely recommend WaterWipes to other parents. They felt lovely to use. Even my husband agreed they were great.

expectingnumber3 · 16/07/2015 18:54

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?
The first thing I noticed was how heavy the pack was when it arrived in the post! The wipes were very thick and strong, and I only needed on for each nappy change, unless it was a total explosion. Very soft too.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?
Yes, and it had DH scrutinising the back of the Pampers pack. I like to use natural products and use cloth nappies at home so it was great to have a more natural wipe with the convenience of a disposable. They were much gentler on my dd's sensitive skin too and her eczema has been much calmer when using these wipes.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?
Yes. I have used them for faces and fingers, and also on my 3 older children when we were out and about. They removed all the grot and stood up to the wriggling of a 4 year old boy.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend them. They are great, really strong and soft, and less chemicals which is fab. I also liked the lack of chemical, perfumey smell. I found the pack lasted for ages too as I didn't need to use as many for each job. They are quite expensive, but I felt they were better value for money than Pampers or Johnsons as they lasted so long, and better for skin too.

Pepsiaddict · 16/07/2015 20:31

I liked the thick texture and found them very durable. There's no residue left on the skin and I found that they were good at cleaning whereas some other brands just smear poo. My only criticism is that they can be difficult to remove individual wipes from the packet when it is half full.

  1. My daughter has eczema so I normally use reusable wipes and water only so these are a perfect idea for when we are out and about and on holiday when reusable wipes are not as practical.
  1. I used them on my baby and toddlers faces - they were great at cleaning them up when we were out for meals. Before using them on their faces I tried them on mine and found that they were gentle and comfy to use. Other brands sting when you use them on your own face so I wouldn't want to use them on delicate baby skin.
  1. I'd def recommend them to other parents, particularly for babies with sensitive skin. The only disadvantages are the price and the short shelf life once opened. The latter is an inevitable consequence of them not having any preservatives but if, like me, you only use them when out and about and use reusable wipes at home then you may not get through the whole pack in time. Smaller travel packs would be ideal.
Ilovenannyplum · 16/07/2015 21:22
  1. I found the wipes to be thicker and softer than usual brand, they also didn't seem to dry out as much as other ones I've tried

  2. not especially but was quite impressed that they had so few ingredients

  3. absolutely, used for wiping DS's face and hands at meal times as well as nappy changes

  4. yes would definitely recommend to other mums, they are very good quality and I was very impressed!

MrsIB · 16/07/2015 21:31

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?
I love WaterWipes! The first thing I noticed was the thickness, they are very durable - for poonami explosions from my newborn and able to cope with the sticky hands of my toddler! They are so very soft and perfect on newborn skin. I also noticed there were no chemical smells which other wipes can have.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?
Yes, I looked at the other wipe packets and was shocked how many different ingredients there are, many of which I have no idea what they are.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?
I have used these wipes for everything - I don't feel like I have to worry about my newborn's and toddler's skin as they are 99.9% water. They have so many great uses - I have even used them on my face!

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?
Most definitely! They are well worth the price tag, we love them and are converted! We have already bought a box. They are thick, durable and safe on even newborn skin. I also found you don't have to use as many as they are large in size and moist so clean up dirty bottoms very well!

ToniWol · 16/07/2015 21:32

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

The wipes were certainly stronger than other disposables that I've used. They were effective at cleaning up nappies and the aroma was pleasant.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

We use reusable wipes at home, and have been using disposables outside in order to use up those we'd been given as gifts. The number of ingredients in some wipes is scary (and can cause irritation as I discovered with one brand of wipes I used myself). My baby does start getting redness if disposables are used often but this didn't seem to happen with the water wipes.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

We've just started weaning so the wipes were used for hands and face as well as bottom. Cleaned effectively and I had no qualms about using them.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Whilst reusables are my first choice, I would heartily recommend the water wipes to other Mums if they didn't want to go down that route, and it's likely that I'll use them again myself either in the change bag or when we go on holiday where taking the reusable wipes isn't practical.

soggywetlettuceleaf · 16/07/2015 21:45

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

Yes we noticed a difference - it was nice not to have a chemical after-smell and definately stronger and softer and just seemed more natural than other wipes. We liked using them overall.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

Yes - especially as my daughter likes to such on wipes.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

Yes - definately great for the teething and weaning stages - we've been using them for those stages.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

100% yes.

RozTheSchnoz · 17/07/2015 08:57

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

I liked using these wipes. They felt good quality and were definitely stronger and more durable than the wipes I have used in the past.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

I liked the fact that these felt more natural and therefore kinder to my baby's skin.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

I would use these wipes for all sorts of things aside from nappy changes - as I do with other wipes I use. It is reassuring that they are so natural and therefore wouldn't upset anyone's skin.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend these wipes to other parents. My only concern would be the price as I think they are 3 times the price of the wipes I usually use and we buy/ use so many that cost is a real factor.

FizzyBubbly · 17/07/2015 09:19
  1. I've used some really thin wipes in the past which are no good for pooey bums, these were nice and thick!
  1. It makes me think that the big long list of ingredients in other wipes were totally unnecessary
  1. I use wipes for everything - cleaning bums, faces, hands, even to cleanse my own face if I'm short on time. Found Water Wipes were excellent multi taskers too!
  1. Yes I would recommend Water Wipes to other mums, especially those with newborns as it is so much quicker and easier to use the wipes than use cotton wool and water, especially when out and about
ChesterCake · 17/07/2015 09:46

Q1.

We found these to be more durable and kinder to skin than the usual wipes we use, we used substantially fewer wipes per nappy change with the water wipes than we use cotton wool.

Q2.
It certainly did, it is obvious to see why our son reacts so badly to many brands of wipe, even the sensitive ones! There was no reaction or nappy Whilst using these wipes.

Q3.
Definitely yes, they're so handy to have in the changing bad whilst out and about for the whole family to use for spillage or mess!

Q4. We have and will be recommending these to other parents, we will continue to use cotton wool at home for the financial aspect but I think water wipes will now become a staple of our changing bag when out and about.

Bonnie152 · 17/07/2015 14:57

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

I do think the wipes were thicker that my usual baby wipes and they were more durable because I found myself using less wipes per nappy than normal.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

Yes. The natural ingredients really appealed to me and is a major bonus for these wipes.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

I used the wipes for hands and faces. I don't normally use baby wipes wherever possible as my children have sensitive skin (normally use face cloths and water for faces and hands) but was happy to use the water wipes and they didn't irritate their skin.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Yes definitely. They are very moist and strong making nappy changes a bit quicker and easier and the fact that they only contain water and fruit extract is fantastic!

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?
Yes because they are all natural

TwoLittleBlooms · 18/07/2015 21:29

Apologies for the delay posting my feedback and thank you MNHQ for letting me take part in test.

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

I found the water wipes very soft, I have only found another wipe as soft (other than the reusable wipes I use) but that wipe was a lot wetter, which wasn’t a good thing, I found the other very soft wipe meant I had to then dry baby’s bottom. These were soft, just the right amount of wetness (when I turned the packet and squeezed it as the water settled in the bottom of the packet.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

I was already quite conscious of the fact other wipes had extensive amounts of chemicals as my baby has very sensitive skin and that was one of the reasons I originally switched to reusable wipes so that I could avoid the irritations that seemed to always occur. It was nice to find a non-reusable that was almost as pure. These will be more convenient for taking out than reusable wipes.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

Yes, I actually used the WaterWipes on baby’s face and body when she needed a quick wipe down. I would never dream of using normal wipes on her face as she seems to always react very badly to them and had a shocking outbreak of baby acne and eczema combined when she was just a couple of weeks old so am doubly cautious of using anything with chemicals, scents, etc.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

I would definitely recommend WaterWipes to other mums/parents, as they are so delicate and therefore are gentle enough for baby’s bottom and face, although I guess it would depend how many packets of wipes they would normally go through a week. The price of the WaterWipes in the place where I shop is about 40p more expensive than the next leading brand of wipes, someone like myself who would only buy one packet every couple of weeks (as I will continue to use reusable at home) then the difference wouldn’t really matter too much, but if you are going through a couple of packs a week then that 40p would add up over time so in that instance I would probably suggest reusables as once they are bought you have them.

  1. Wipes were very strong. Had no real problems with them. Occasionally more than one came out of the packet.

  2. Loved the fact that they only have two ingredients. I do worry about regular wipes as they seem to get lots of stains out of things so they must have some pretty harsh chemicals in them.

  3. would be suitable for other uses such as hand wiping, but the cost of the product would put me off.

  4. I would definitely recommend the wipes to other parents especially during the first few weeks when you are advised to use cotton wool. The only thing that puts me of is the cost as the wipes are quite expensive.

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

These were great wipes, very thick and satisfyingly wet (I hate 'dry' wipes!). They did the job well, and my husband was pleased they didn't have a 'filmy' finish. I suspect it may have required an extra wipe or two to finish big cleaning jobs because there is no detergent on the wipes, but that is ok given that it is better for baby's skin.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

Yes, but I do wonder quite how bad those additives are, and whether it is worth paying more than 3x for these wipes to avoid them. I could just use a bowl of water and a cloth...

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

Yes, I used these on my baby's face and I don't normally use other wipes because I don't want her to eat the chemicals on them.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Yes, they are great wipes, but only if you can affort to pay a premium for them. Most parents I know are strapped for cash, so these wouldn't be a feasible choice.
