This is the feedback thread for the MNers who - along with their baby aged up to 6 months who are trying WaterWipes.

Here's what WaterWipes says: "Every time we change our baby's nappies, or use a wipe on their messy face or hands, we can be (without realising it) swabbing their sensitive, delicate, and highly absorbent skin with chemicals. Even when we reach for wipes labelled as "natural" or "sensitive", we do not realize how many ingredients and chemicals they actually contain, as we seldom scrutinise the ingredient list. WaterWipes contain only 2 ingredients: 99.9% Water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract. Non-irritating to even the most sensitive of children’s or Mums’ skin, WaterWipes help prevent and alleviate nappy rash and other sensitive skin conditions. WaterWipes are the only baby wipe ever to be endorsed by Allergy UK."

Below are the questions they’d like testers to answer but please feel free to add any other comments which you may have:

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Please also remember to complete the short survey we email you!

All who take part and who add feedback as required will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice.

Q1. I use Huggies Pure wipes. I found these to be similar in terms of strength and softness - maybe a little thicker.

Q2. Yes it made me read the Huggies Pure pack and I was surprised by the ingredients contained in the wipes. I had (wrongly) assumed that wipes called pure would have less chemicals.

Q3. Yes I used them on my baby's and my toddlers hands and face after feeding/meals. They worked very well.

Q4. Yes - particularly for young babies. They are very expensive normally though - they are on offer at Boots in my home town so I have stocked up - so I would struggle to justify using them on my toddler on a daily basis.

Q1.
They are thick compares to other disposable wipes I have used which makes them more durable.

Q2. I already knew other wipes had more chemicals in and it was good to know the waterwipes had none.

Q3. Brilliant for snotty noses and mucky weaning banana faces.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not? Yes as a natural alternative. I generally use reuseable wipes but they were comparable in performance.

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?
I think they are brilliant. Very strong, large and very wet. I had previously used only cotton wool and water on my 6 month old baby at home, but wanted an equivalent when out and about, and these are the answer! They seem to be less harsh and thicker than the Pampers wipes I had used with my first baby.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes? Yes. I always knew that there were more chemicals than I dared think about, but there didn't appear to be an alternative.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation? Yes! I have since bought 6 packs of them, and have them everywhere - in the car, in the highchair, next to the toilet (for older child),

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not? yes, definitely. My now 8 month baby has never had a single nappy rash, and I put that down to using cotton wool and water when tiny, and now these Water Wipes. They are expensive, so probably would not be able to continue to use them throughout toddlerhood, but I cant see myself giving them up any time soon. One comment another mum made to me at a baby group was that they were very heavy to carry around in the nappy bag, but that doesn't bother me, as I appreciate that must be all the water!

  1. I preferred WaterWipes to any other brand of wipes I've used before. They were indeed thicker than other brands and felt softer to the skin.
  1. Learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract) did make me wonder what actually was in other wipes, so much so that I went and checked exactly what was in other baby wipes!

Q3. I think WaterWipes would be more than suitable for use on face/hand/skin when actual water isn't available, yes. My son suffers from eczema and I wouldn't normally like to wipe his face or skin with other baby wipes. However, I felt a lot more comfortable doing so with the WaterWipes, knowing what was in them as opposed to other wipes.

Q4. I would 100% recommend WaterWipes to other parents and families as they are the next best thing to water for cleaning your child after eating, nappy changing time etc. in my opinion. Not only that, but they were stronger than most other wipes too and didn't have the slightly rough texture some wipes seem to have.

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?
They were easy to use

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?
No mainly because I haven't had any adverse effects from other wipes

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?
Yes, in order to prevent soreness

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not?
Yes as they are sure to not cause irritation

Q1. I thought they were fantastic on my newborns skin. She has reacted to other wipes but didn't to these. I found them thick and durable but slightly hard to remove from the packet.

Q2. Yes it did make me think about other chemicals used.

Q3. I have also used these on my 3 year old at meal times. Other wipes gave her a rash under her mouth but these were fine.

Q4. Yes I would recommend for newborns or sensitive skin.

Q1. How did you find using WaterWipes? Did you notice a difference between them and ordinary wipes you may have used in the past? Were you describe them as being thicker, stronger, softer, more durable?
Really great for newborns with nothing in them meant no sore bottoms and just as good as cotton wool and water which I usually use. Really thick and durable and great for wiping my older chidlrens faces too. Found that they stuck together and so often pulled out several at a time from the packet.

Q2. Did learning that WaterWipes had only 2 ingredients, (99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract), make you think about what was in other normal baby wipes?
Yes it did - I hate most wipes and cant understand why the need to have some many nasty things in them. This was a major plus for me to use on my newborn.

Q3. Did you think the product might be suitable for other uses aside from nappy changing, like face wiping or hand wiping in the teething/dribbling or weaning stages when little faces needs wiping but putting wipes with chemicals on baby’s face might cause some irritation?
Yes - didnt think twice about using them for the face, hands and for the older children - knowing there wasnt anything that may react with my newborns skin.

Q4. Would you recommend WaterWipes to other Mums/ parents? If yes, why? If not, why not? Yes - I would def recommend them. However, I would say that they are on the more expensive side.

Q1, I thought the wipes were thicker and stronger than my usual disposable brand. But much too wet.

Q2, I knew that the wipes only had 2 ingredient and are a good alternative to cotton wool and water when out and about.

Q3, I thought for hands and faces while on the move these would be great certainly better than putting chemicals on babies/toddlers sensitive skin.

Q4, I would recommend them to other Mums for taking out in the changing bag but as they are so expensive probably stick to cotton wool and water at home or washable wipes which I currently use.
