I am using size 3.

As far as dryness they are not the most absorbant, baby dry are far far better. The stretchy fit is quite good.

First impression was it is a soft nappy which I like but a bad smell. They move easier with baby and would recommend them for day time use. No leaks if you change regularly but definitely did not pass the 12 hour challenge.

Mummageddon · 15/10/2014 18:37

DS is 23 months and size 5 (weighs about 11kg).

My overall impression was good, nice and colourful pictures and looked thin in a good way!
They're a bit smaller in size than the sainsburys little ones size 5 we normally use.
No leaks day or night during the product test, they were fine.
I wouldn't buy again purely based on price though. I can get sainsburys nappies (which perform just as well) very cheap on offer.
I probably wouldn't recommend as I think you can get decent nappies more cheaply.

monkeyplastic · 15/10/2014 18:48

I previously used pampers with my daughter, but always considered them too expensive to carry on using. So my son has always had Aldi.
I was testing size 6 and my son is two.
I am impressed with the size of the nappies and they are a comfortable fit, as my son is big for his age. No leaks at night and lots of room to play.
you certainly pay extra for the brand and I am still not sure if they are worth the extra four pound on top on the aldi nappy. I would consider switching if they were a bit cheaper. Overall I impressed, shame about the price.

ricecakeaddict · 15/10/2014 18:54

DD is 7 months old and wears 3+.

  1. I like the fact they are thin and the frills and tabs work well. I don't mind the smell as the clinical nature of it makes me feel like they are actually going to do something! I like the pictures but didn't like the fact they show through white and pale trousers and tights as it looks really messy. Pampers Newborn are much better for this.
  2. They worked well and held in both wee and poo day and night. I thought they worked better than Pampers Baby Dry.
  3. Yes, I would. However, I would want to buy size 3+ again and can't find them in any shops! There seems to be a big difference between sizes 3 and 4 so this is annoying.
  4. Yes, I would - although I would flag the smell to them just in case they didn't like it!

Thanks for accepting me onto the trial!

Panzee · 15/10/2014 18:56

I'm just marking my place, mine arrived yesterday and I've not opened them yet. Back soon!

CoffeeOne · 15/10/2014 18:56

DS is 2.5 and we tested size 5+.

I found the nappies to be a nice size and they fit well. They weren't bulky under clothing. DS played happily in them and slept happily in them and he stayed dry. I do think I had to change them slightly more frequently than my usual nappies, Pampers baby dry.

I would use them again and would probably recommend them as a second choice to baby dry. My one negative is the smell, they do smell quite chemically.

In the survey I clicked no to all the answers, because I don't think that active fit offer unbeatable dryness, I think Pampers baby dry are superior.

billybear · 15/10/2014 19:10

great that I was picked for this trial aged 15 months size 6 , overall impression nice soft great fit, strong tabs no chance of coming off by accident, permormed well day and night bit more expensive than what I normaaly use , so would look out for offers at shops .sorry for spelling dog keeps jumping on my knee,i would use again especially if on offer price. yes I would recommend to other people

ShadyMyLady · 15/10/2014 19:16

Maybe I read it wrong Toby. I finished the Pampers survey and then it said click arrow to enter the draw. It then took me to the OpinionBar page.

It's probably me not reading it properly!

ShadyMyLady · 15/10/2014 19:18

This is what it says. Then the arrow takes you to the OpinionBar acount page.

DD 19 months, size 5.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Nice and thin, they felt quite soft too. The sticky tabs held really well too. For some reason the elastic dug into my daughters legs quite a lot more than our usual brand, which I wasn't too happy about.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They performed fine, both day and night. Did a good 12 hours overnight. No leaks at any time.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use them again, but only if I get a really good price deal on them because they have performed no better or worse than my usual brand.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes to both.

Treesandbees · 15/10/2014 19:20
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I thought they were quite thin but had a nice design.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They have been fab during the day. My toddler is very active and the nappies seemed to stay in place well. They seemed to take longer to 'fill up' than cheaper brands, despite being thin. I haven't been brave enough to try them at night as I don't want any disruption!! We use Pampers Baby Dry instead! I also thought they were generous in size which is good as I hate tight nappies.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, definitely. I prefer them to the pull ups which we have been using.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I'd definitely recommend them as a day nappy!

thatstoast · 15/10/2014 19:28

Size 4 8M old.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I was surprised at how thin they were. I've been using Aldi Mammia previously and they're very bulky in comparison.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Both good. No night time leaks which had been happening with my previous brand.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I think I'll use Pampers for night and aldi in the day purely for cost issue.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

For dryness and fit, yes but I would feel the need to qualify that with a comment about the relatively higher price.

Shroomboom · 15/10/2014 19:29

DD is 8 months, and we're using size 4.

  1. I was quite happy with them, and like the fact that the tabs either side of the front part of the nappy are longer and so it seemed a little more secure.

  2. I normally use Pampers Baby Dry, and to be honest didn't notice that much difference, which is a good thing Smile

  3. I wouldn't not use them iykwim. I will probably stick to buying Baby Dry, but if there weren't any left for example, then I would be happy to use Active Fit instead.

  4. I probably would recommend them due to the extra tab bit (as mentioned above). Any Pampers nappies are great imo though.

When ds was little (he's 7 now) I remember trying out Active Fit and vowing never to use them again as they leaked every time. Whether it's because they just didn't suit ds, or because they might have changed since then I don't know, but I thought they were great on dd Smile

Thanks for letting us try them!

Dolallytats · 15/10/2014 19:33

DD 15 months size 4 nappies

First impressions were they were a lot thinner than the supermarket brand I usually use. They stunk!! The nappies had a really strong smell that was noticeable through DD's clothes, although it did disappear when I too the nappies out of their packaging and left them on the side.

Performance: They were pretty good. They were very absorbent and we had no leaks either during the day or night. DD looked comfortable wearing them as they were thinner so she didn't have the 'John Wayne' look when walking!! Also the waist band was lovely and stretchy, more so than my usual brand.

Would I use them again? Yes, if they were on offer. I'm afraid they are quite a bit more money than my usual nappy, which work absolutely fine.

Would i recommend? Yes, they are a good nappy and a trusted brand.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 15/10/2014 19:37

DD is 8 months, I tried the size 3 nappies.

I like the fact that they are less bulky than other brands I have used, they fit well under her clothes and take up less space in my changing bag! I like the design on them as it is cute but subtle. The fit around the legs is good, though they are less generously sized than my usual brand, meaning that I would have to go up a size sooner, thus making each nappy a bit more expensive.

They perform well in the day on the whole. No wee leaks but we have had some poo leaks out the top, where despite doing the nappy up securely, they seem to gape a bit. So far they have been fine at night. However, despite containing the wee, her skin is always very wet when I change her so I expect these aren't as absorbent as our current ones, they don't wick the moisture away from the skin as effectively, which could make her sore.

I would buy them again if they were on a really good offer, but at twice the price of my normal brand I can't justify buying them as they don't actually perform noticeably better. We had some soreness, which may be down to the nappies or could be other factors.

I might recommend them to someone with a really active child, especially if they weren't happy with the nappies they were using, as the legs are more elasticated than others we have tried.

Leeanne2205 · 15/10/2014 19:43

Daughter is 18 months we tried 5 + size nappies

I was very impressed with the nappies have used pampers dry nappies for overnight but over a week ever morning the nappy had leaked not impressed so had gone back to Aldi nappies.i thought active fit was more for day time wear but was really pleased that each morning checked her nappy and p.j's and no accidents Result!

I would definitely use them again but depending on costs as I do shop around and like to look out for offers, but would recommend them to friends.

aturtlenamedmack · 15/10/2014 19:55

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They're nice and stretchy and fit well.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They were fine through the day, but did not make it through the night. Ds was wet by the morning every time we used them.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I might use them during the day, but definitely not at night.
If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Probably not, the brand that I normally use are more reliable.

cherrylolly · 15/10/2014 19:58

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They were fine
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Used them at night there were ok,liked that they were thin
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
To be honest I thought they were a bit smelly when wet,I have noticed this with pampers before, its a bit like a chemical type smell
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Really not sure if I would recommend, they were ok but not amazing, guess they would be fine if you didn't want a bulky nappy but wouldn't recommend them for wearing for a while due to the smell.
cmc1976 · 15/10/2014 20:14

Dos is 7 months, size 4 nappies

1 overall impression is good, they are thinner than my usual brand and fit well on the waist, but they smell terrible when wet, it's a very strong chemical smell.

  1. Ok in the day, didn't last 12 hours at night. I changed him when he woke after About 7 hours, as the front was very bulky with wee

3 the smell puts me off using them as does the price, as other brands are cheaper

4 probably not

OooOooTheMonkey · 15/10/2014 20:16

DD 11 months size 4.

  1. very thin, nice design. Good fit, no leaks at all, even at night (DD sleeps for 12 hours) I liked how thin they were as she is getting more mobile now and also look less bulky under leggings.

  2. brilliant performance, no issues at all with any leaks. Didn't notice they smelt any weirder than other nappies, they all smell a bit chemical-y to me.

  3. I would use them again, only when out the house and not at night but only because of the price. They are far more expensive than my usual Boots or Aldi. I would buy them when on offer instead of Pampers Baby Dry though.

  4. Yes I would recommend them to other parents, I was really pleased with them.

aynsleyred · 15/10/2014 20:31

DD 10 months. Size 4

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I was impressed. I like that they're quite thin and soft and don't even seem to bulk up greatly when they're wet. They were a good fit. They seem roomier than baby dry in the same size.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Through the day great, following the night there was slight moisture on her bum and the nappy but less than the other brand I'd been using I'd say.

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would if they were cheaper. Not sure why they're more expensive than the baby dry version as there's no noticeable difference to me.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Possibly.

chaztree · 15/10/2014 20:45

My son is 19 months old and was trying size 5 active fit nappies

  • they were soft to touch, and not papery like other brands, and the elasticated areas were nice and stretchy.
  • they were great during the day, his skin was dry to.touch when I changed a wet nappy. I change him regularly, probably every 3 to 4 hours unless there was a poo. The nappy help that in well and we didn't have any leaks. The nappy fit really high front and back and was able to hold in his night weed and the morning ones after his milk. They leaked once though, but my son does move around a lot in bed so.it happens with other nappies. One thing I did notice is he didn't wake up with marks around his thighs where he has moved around and nappy has not been as flexible.
  • Yes I would use them, but only if I got them on offer. The individual packs are expensive for the number we need really and you loads more per pack of baby dry or other brands.
  • If it did come up I would recommend them for fit and dryness but probably also recommend just using the baby dry or other dry brands at night.

It's nice to see a nappy that gives my son freedom to move so comfortably, almost like a second skin.

Samichuboo · 15/10/2014 20:46
  • dd 17weeks size 3

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Well fitted, not bulky

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Kept dd dry but did have a smell when wet
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Would use them again as dd is rolling around and where they are not bulky it's easier for her to move
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes

Thank you for inviting me to try them

Catpawprint · 15/10/2014 20:48

Daughter aged 5 months size 3

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They were good quality and reliable.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Very well. No rashes, no leaks. I did need to change her very full (wee only) nappy on a couple of nights as it did bother her so wouldn't say that it's guaranteed to cope for 12 hours. The pattern helped to differentiate front and back quickly for my parents who have been known to put nappies on backwards on several occasions.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. I liked the soft feel, size and quality of the nappies.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes I probably would.
