My daughter will be 3 at the end of this month but she is small for her age, I used the size 5+ on her.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Was surprised at how thin they were; the design looked quite nice and was a talking point if my daughter was being fussy at nappy change time.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Surprisingly well as the last experience of Pampers (Baby Dry) was horrid. These stayed in place, absorbed well and didn't leak. She was much happier overnight - as the wee was wicked away better.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Maybe, am contemplating potty training her now - so hopefully won't need to be using nappies, in the daytime at least, for too much longer. Plus I think the cost per pack is quite high.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No, as I'm happier to recommend Boots own brand nappies which she's been using since I switched from the Asda ones.

10 month old boy, size 4 nappies

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

good product, nice fit and not too bulky. great for a busy crawler

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

fine for day, quite wet after 12 hours at night

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes if they were on special offer.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

possibly

6 month old baby in size 3 plus up to 22lbs. it was great to try a premium brand.

1st impressions were that they were very thin and had s slightly chemical smell. when they hold wee, they seem unnervingly squishy very quickly.

how did they perform - sorry to say that they leaked in the day on a couple of occasions in the day. used for just 8 hours in the night and were ok although baby only had one feed that night so perhaps less wee produced. returned to use aldi nappies after night 2.

would i use again - unfortunately, no. the squishy feel is very off putting and i was worried that the nappy might rip even though it had been on for only an hour after a milk feed. they were a good size and covered whole area very well and fit well too. id recommend on that basis only. ive tried the orange simply dry budget pampers and i thought they were good.

Just to say i got my box yesterday so will be back for feedback in a few days time.

Boy, 2 1/2 years wearing size 5+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit? I love the active fit, they are super absorbent, easy to fit on and I love the stretchy side panels. They can be really full and still not leak out and survive a whole nights wear. They are very thin and not very bulky at all compared to other nappies.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Great my son sleeps for 12 hours and he wears his nappy for about 13 and it did incredibly well despite being very full. He likes to wear them as they are comfortable. We haven't had any leaks at all.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes absolutely I use one of these to every 2/3 of another brand because these are so good. Cost wise although these are a bit more money it makes them great value that I am using 50% less than I would be with another brand. They are so thin and have a great range of movement perfect for development.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes absolutely I am always telling people how great pampers are.
ThedementedPenguin · 15/10/2014 14:29

Baby: 6 months using size 3.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

When I opened them, I found them very thin, they looked good.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

During the day I found them to be quite saggy, always felt fuller than they actually were. Meant I was changing more often than I usually would. Also when dd pooped it usually came up her back, which was a pain.
Night time absolutely fine. Managed just over 12 hours with no problems.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

We currently use pampers new baby, when we move up I would possibly consider them. Although would like to try the baby dry also.
We currently use active fit for my oldest boy as I found them the best fit.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I would recommend them to others,

Tidypidy · 15/10/2014 14:37

Tried nappies with ds2 aged 19 months, wearing size 4+.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
The packet seemed quite small but when I opened it I realised it's because the nappies are far more compact than our usual brand. They also have quite a strong chemical smell which did dissipate a bit on use.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They have been excellent, great fit and only leaked once but think that due to a high velocity very loose poo rather than a flaw in the nappy. They seem to fit well and ds has certainly been very comfortable in them.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I will use them again yes even though they are more expensive than our usual brand because they fit very well and are more compact which means they fit better in my changing bag.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I have already recommended them to a friend with a child a similar age to mine.
MollyHooper · 15/10/2014 15:00

DS is 15 months and we used a size 5.

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Lovely fit, nice and light but have an odd smell.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Very well during the day, they get much less bulky when wet than my usual brand. Average for night time, DS's sleep suit was a little damp when he woke up but it's the same with all nappies.

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably not, they are great but not cost effective.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit

If I saw them on offer, yes.

MummyBtothree · 15/10/2014 15:14

Tester - My son age 28 months, size 6 nappies.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I liked these nappies alot!. I loved the fact that they were so stretchy considering his age, he is always on the go now and thought they were nice and big around his bum and legs - no leaks! yay!.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

These nappies were fab during the night, no leaks and often endured 12 hours!.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would def use these again, especially if I had a money off voucher :)

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes I would definately recommend these nappies again. I thought they were fab. Thank you Mumsnet and Pampers!!!!!!!!!!!.

SwallowsInSpring · 15/10/2014 15:22

My daughter is 18 months and small and narrow for her age, we used the 3+ on her (she is 9kg).
First impressions were that they take up very little space before using them, packet is well designed to give you an opening to get nappies out without having to spill all the nappies out at once.
They fit her well, didn't rub her legs or make red lines one her legs or tummy. They seemed a bit baggy under her crotch but once she'd weed a few times and they'd swollen up they were alright. By the morning they were hanging quite low between her legs, very heavy with wee, but we didn't find they leaked at all.
I also noticed the smell-in fact a couple of times I thought maybe she'd pooed, but it was just wet nappy smell. Sort of chemically and not wholly pleasant.
She wasn't able to undo the tabs herself-bonus!
I would buy them again if on offer, but have tried the baby dry in the past with no problems and so would probably buy those again as they were cheaper and seemed to suit her just as well.

SwallowsInSpring · 15/10/2014 15:24

Oops my paragraphs didn't come out with gaps in between, sorry!

Also meant to say yes would recommend them, but also it was a treat to have them for free so thanks!

And finally, it may be relevant that we usually use reusable nappies, so this trial was mainly overnight (when we use disposables anyway) and occasional day use

MakeTeaNotWar · 15/10/2014 16:05

Used size 5 on 2 year old DS.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Nice looking slim nappies, can pack lots into my day bag when out and about, not bulk under cloths. Have a strong smell which is off-putting.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Absolutely fine - no redness to DS skin and no leaks. However having read other comments, i am reluctant to use them overnight again as I'd rather not have to deal with soggy bedding and a wet child.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes but only if they were on special offer as I normally use Asda's Little Angel's brand which are much cheaper.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
yes I would
lynnheath50716 · 15/10/2014 16:09

My overall impression of these nappies is good, I have had no incidents with leaking day or night, The fit is good and I feel that the size is right for my little one. The one negative I have from using these nappies is the smell, even before you have used them there is a chemical smell, This makes me wonder what has been put into the nappy to ensure that they don't leak.

If this smell was removed I would use them again as I feel they have done a really good job of keeping my little one dry and happy - As a baby with a wet bum makes for a very unhappy mum!!!! I would recommend them to other mums on the basis of this but I would also bring up the fact that they have a funny unnatural smell, which if I am honest really put me off.

Emmabro710 · 15/10/2014 16:14

DS 5months in size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I like the design on the nappy and that they aren't to bulky. I was a little worried that the absorbent layer doesn't go All the way up the back of the nappy as my little boy tends to leak a lot after a bowel movement.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

I felt they performed the same as the baby dry nappy.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use them again if they were on offer but they are slightly to expensive to buy normally.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes I would as I like pampers nappies and after trying many brands found them the best.

Samantha0076 · 15/10/2014 16:30

I tried these on my 18 month old son, size 4+

-What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

My overall impression was good, nice animal designs, thin, material very soft inside and out, stretchy tabs make doing nappy up easier and are good and strong and didn't come off when little one was trying to escape mid change.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They worked well during the day & night, no leaks, good dryness not every night but most, they do feel much fuller when wet than our usual brand though.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would not switch to them from our usual brand for two reasons, I am happy with the fit and level of dryness from our usual brand. They are £8.50 for 36 nappies in my local supermarket and that is to expensive for me. However I would use them in an emergency if there was limited choice.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit

If it came up in conversation, for dryness and fit I would say they were good most of the time, no nappy is ever going to be perfect and every child is different in them. I would not recommend them though on price as they are just so expensive.

pinkandstripey · 15/10/2014 17:01

Ds is 18 months and size 4+

Overall impressions - fit well, thinner than other brands and other pampers. Smell quite plasticky/ chemically even when dry. Seem to come a long way up ds back.

Performance - fine during the day, elastic around legs contains even cold-lurgy poo. Leaked at the front during the night, his pjs have been wet and waistband at the front a few mornings after 12 hours.

Use again - yes, in the day. Would use baby dry or similar over night.

Recommend? - yes, for day time use only.

Monkeyblue2 · 15/10/2014 17:11

My LO is 11 months and we had the 3+ nappies. Due to the time waiting to receive a pack he had gone up a size so out results may be a little skewed due to the nappies being slightly too small.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Good impression, the smell was strong though.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time? We had one small poo leak but no item leaks. He had nappy rash for the first time at night though using these.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes but in a bigger size. They fit well and never come off, they hold soft poo well too.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit? Yes I would, I can tell the quality is superior to other brands.
malachite · 15/10/2014 17:15

Please state the age of your child and the size of Active Fit nappies you were trying in your response.

Tried with both my two as they as similar size. 2 year old and 4 year old.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit? Overall they were very thin so fitted nicely under clothes and the fit around their legs seemed ok.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Only used during the day for the 2 year old. They performed fine. No leaks (other than when he rearranged himself and peed out the top). He seemed comfortable in them. No nappy rash. At night, they were fine for the 2 year old but the 4 year old leaked.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Maybe during the day, especially if I needed a slim fit for a particular outfit. Not at night.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

For fit yes, for dryness no.

kfever10 · 15/10/2014 17:33

DS is 16 months and we tried a size 5

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Good size, nice and thin (can't stand a buly nappy) and Max liked the pattern lol. They also felt soft.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Throughout the day and night we had no leaks, they stayed in position, no movement or loose tabs. Max slept for 13 hours one night, and the nappy was FULL but had no leaked at all.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes. most definitely. They outperformed our usual brand for night time use, and Max seemed really comfortable - no nappy rash etc.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Absolutley. As I said, they fit well, the sides were really flexible, and there were no leaks, meaning Max slept well. He couldn't have felt damp, or he would have woken. I would recommend.

Miaow1234 · 15/10/2014 17:48

2 years size 5 nappies

Nappies thin and light so great compared to others that are bulky shaped. Fasten well with long strips.

Used day and night and performed well. She still feeds at night and impressed didn't leak.

I would use again as they fit my child much better than others I've used where the strips are often too short to fasten properly.
More gender neutral colours.
Would recommend or mention to others because there are thin and great absorbency.

ShadyMyLady · 15/10/2014 17:56

MNHQ can you please confirm if it's £150 or £200 in vouchers, as this thread says £200 and the most recent email says £150?

I also can't create an account with OpinonsBar, which is apparently needed to be entered into the draw, because it keeps coming back my email address is invalid. I tried my second address and that said that same.

Is anyone else having problems or is it just me?!

Alex71 · 15/10/2014 18:03

Our overall view of the nappys was very good all in all soft to touch and nice design

We would use them at night as they seemed to keep my ds 16 month dry till the morning with fewer leaks than our previous nappys.
Daytime wear was also good the fit seemed unbulky under clothes!

We would happily use this brand again ! The fit was great , leakage was minimal so all round win win

I would recommend them to other mums if it came up

The MNHQ OP says that everyone who comments on the thread will be entered into the draw. Nothing about creating an account elsewhere Confused

My daughter is 15 months, testing size 4+ (although she is actually in a size 5 nappy now - in the time it took to send them out she has gone up a size)

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They have a really horrible, strong smell. On several occasions I've smelt something overpowering from across the room from my fully-clothed daughter, thought she must have pooed and gone to change her, and it was just the smell of the chemically nappy. We haven't used Pampers since the first few early weeks when she was a newborn, and I'd forgotten the awful smell they give off, and that it was one of the main reasons we switched.

Otherwise, they're nothing special. Fit ok, absorb ok, but no slimmer, softer or better than the Asda ones we use. And 2-3 times the price of those ones (plus hideous smell....)

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Fine. No leaks. But we haven't had any leaks from our normal nappies either.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not unless I was desperate, had run out of nappies, and that was all someone could lend me (for free). I wouldn't pay extra for something that, in my view, is worse than the supermarket brands because it smells so much.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

No. I'd tell them not to waste their money, and use Asda or Aldi ones instead.

milliemoon · 15/10/2014 18:25

Overall impression- the nappies were soft and thin. Seemed to come up bigger than the nappy we currently use (pampers baby dry)

How did nappy perform? I didn't really notice a difference to the nappy we use currently

Would I use them again? Very possibly, but would depend on whether the baby dry product or the active fit was cheaper in the store at the time of purchase

Would I recommend them? I would recommend them for the fit
