DS, 11 months, wearing a 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Very good. They seemed a bit more stretchy tabs than other brands and were easier to get onto a wriggly baby intent on escape. They also seemed to be a bit less bulky so gave him a bit more freedom when he's walking around. They also made it easier to pull his trousers up!

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Good, they seemed very dry during the day and I really liked them at night, they never seemed to feel wet and they never got as full up as baby dry.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would, I thought they were very good. I usually buy bulk buy baby dry when they're on offer though, so I'd look out for offers on them.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I would.

SaMuEl12 · 15/10/2014 09:27

My dd is 2 in size 5
The nappies are thin and not bulky, my daughter and I loved the animals.
They performed well day and night, we didn't have any leaks even when she had slept for 12 hours, although after this time her skin felt damp.
They are good for a child on the move and didn't impede her movement.
I would happily use them again if they were on offer, as they are expensive at full price.
Yes I would recommend them to others.

LackingCommonSense · 15/10/2014 09:36

Thanks for trial pack!

DS is 15mo and wearing the size 4's. We usually use supermarket brand (usually Aldi's) in a size 4 during the day and Pampers Baby Dry overnight in a size 4+.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Nice and thin. I didn't notice the smell everyone is referring to, but I have had a cold! I like the pictures on the nappies and they actually help me bribe DS into having his bum changed!

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Fine during the day. We don't usually have any issues during the day though, so I would've been surprised if there had been. Overnight we've had one case of leakage from the waistband so his PJ's wear a bit wet. Nothing major though. We've been quiet impressed.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would get them if they were on offer for overnight use only. Then again, if Baby Dry was cheaper I'd stick with Baby Dry as they do the same job. I wouldn't swap my supermarket brands during the day as I don't see the need to spend more!

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I'd mention that I've been pleased with them overnight but probably point out that the only real difference seems to be the size of the nappy when dry.

DS is 14 months and in 4+ nappies.

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
My first impression was that they were very light and thin. When DS first wore them they had good manoeuverability and the tabs were excellent as he couldn't pull them off. Unfortunately once they got wet, they gave off a very strong smell even without being full.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They leaked during the night and gave off a very strong smell during the day. We have never had this happen with any other nappies.

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I probably wouldn't use them again as it isn't ideal to have extra washing from leaks when back at work and the smell is off putting and resulted in using more nappies than normal as changing DS to get rid of the smell even when not strictly necessary.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No, I was really expecting to change my opinion about Pampers nappies after we first used them with DD but have really found value brands to be better for absorption and cost. The one area in which these nappies really excelled was in manoeuverability as they are a lot less bulky than competitor brands.

EmilyandIndiana · 15/10/2014 09:39

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Not very impressed! They fit well, however they seemed to need to be changed very often. They bulged and felt extremely squishy after just a few hours use. They smelt really strong too when full.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Throughout the day if I changed often (which needed to be every 1-2 hours) they were fine. However if left longer, and especially over night my daughter felt damp and uncomfortable.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not any time soon. Apart from them being far too expensive, they just aren't worth the money. Cheaper store brands have performed much better!

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

For fit yet, however I couldn't recommend them for their dryness.

EmilyandIndiana · 15/10/2014 09:40

Oops forgot to add DD is almost 11 months, size 4 nappies

IBelieveInPink · 15/10/2014 09:53

11 month old daughter, size 4 nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Good quality, liked the feel of them compared to other nappies. Also the fit is better, and more generous than others.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Great during the day. Didn't have any leak throughs (which has been known with our others). Night was fine, although didn't seem as dry as with baby dry which we usually use at night.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, would definitely use again as much preferred the feel and fit compared to our usual nappies. However would be price dependant!!
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes.
Geniene · 15/10/2014 09:59

DS is 2, size 4+

Overall - Overall I quite liked using these nappies and found they do contain wetness, although they do have a 'funny' smell, plasticy smell? They aren't as bulky as other brands and this is great for taking out in the change bag and when first put on DS.
Performance - great for holding in wetness, but I had several poo disasters, unlike other brands the poo seems to literally slide up the back (and out) of the nappy. I admit this happens occasionally with any brand of nappy but did seem more common with these ones. The fit was great though and they did stop and side leakage.
Use again - yes I would probably use again if they were on offer but I can't say I found them different in performance to shops own brands.
Recommend - I would possibly recommend them but would mention the negatives points when doing so.

Thanks for selecting us to be 'testers', I enjoyed trying them.

lifewithpinkprincesses · 15/10/2014 09:59

Daughter aged 20 months - size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They are a very thin nappy and the pictures really amused my daughter. They fit really well but the tabs are quite weak and I've accidentally broken them when pulling to fasten. I do love the slim fit though especially under leggings.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Unfortunately, I haven't been very satisfied with the overall performance of the Active Fit. We've had three poo explosions since using them which is the first time we've ever had poo leakages in 20 months. However, they seem to contain wee fantastically during the day but we do have to change her half way through the night. She's a heavy wetter generally, changing isn't something new for us.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I wouldn't use the Active Fits again. I find them too expensive and am not happy with the performance. I would use a different Pampers though.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I don't think I could recommend the Pampers Active Fit purely as I have tried other nappies that provide a much better performance rating.

Xem0girlx · 15/10/2014 10:13
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Really thin, I found they smelt lovely. They held all the moisture well with no leakages and found they improved any redness.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Brilliantly, they were amazing, held everything, no leakages. Lasted 14 hours at night!
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Deffinately, I will be switching to these as my permanent nappy, they were amazing, helped with nappy rash and didn't go thin at the Velcro when full
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Deffinately! Amazing!
Xem0girlx · 15/10/2014 10:15

Forgot to say size 4+ 10 months

katiewalters · 15/10/2014 10:18

My daughter is 15 months and we tried a size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I liked the design. Compared to what we normally used I thought they looked really thin, so I didn't think they would be great for absorbing the wee, but they were fine. A good fit, tabs were good, as I've had problems with other brands where the tabs kept wrapping off when putting the nappy on.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They performed well through the day and night. I didn't have to change them more often than usual nappies. They were comfortable for my daughter, didn't leak at all.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use again, as compared to my normal nappy I use are thinner but do the job just as well, and they seemed to fit better even though my usual brand are the same size nappy.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I would definitely recommend to other moms. They do what they say they will. I didn't have any problems with them whatsoever.

Lisaj75 · 15/10/2014 10:21

Perfect fit and comfortable for baby. They were fine in the night, although my baby doesn't drink in the night. I wouldn't buy them unless they are on offer as quite expensive and you don't get as many in a pack as other brands. The nappy had a smell that wasn't very nice and also felt quite thin. I would only recommend them for the fit.

mmjb · 15/10/2014 10:23

Thank you for choosing us to participate in the pampers trial

Daughter 9 months

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Stretchy sides, soft padding in bum area
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

I didn't think it performed as well as my usual nappies as I seemed to have to change them more often as they didn't seem to hold as much liquid as my normal nappies, night time I found they leaked on more than one occasion and my little girl developed a very sore bottom aswell, which she had not done before,I also found on changing a wet nappy there was also a strong smell from the nappy that I have not noticed before with my usual nappies

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I probably would not use them again as I didn't find them as absorbent as my usual disposable nappies and they are also more expensive, and also my daughter got a very sore bum whilst using them

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Probably not

Cariad007 · 15/10/2014 10:26

I'd have loved for my DS to try them out but unfortunately MNHQ took so long to send the nappies out that by the time they arrived he'd gone up to the next size!

TaperJeanGirl · 15/10/2014 10:27

My dd is 11 months and we are using the size 4+

What was your overall impression of the pampers active fit?

I thought they were very thin, nice designs, brilliant tabs, but they smell a lot like nappy cream...metanium!

How did pampers active fit perform through the day and at night time?

They were brilliant for the first hour or so, she could move around easily, ( just started walking confidently) she seemed nice and dry, but afte around an hour the nappy seems so full and squishy it was hanging between her legs! She doesn't drink a massive amount, and we don't have this after an hour with our usual brand ( sainsburys little ones) after about 2 hours she was pulling them off as they were so baggy, the smell when wet also gets stronger.....
During the night, they kept everything in, no leaks, but they were so puffy they looked like she had sat in a swimming pool ( anyone else's kids been in a paddling pool in a normal nappy when you've ran out of swim nappies? You get the idea!) her skin was wet and clammy and she felt cold, not nice!

Would you use them again? If so why? If not, why not?

I wouldn't use them again, as they're more expensive than our normal brand, and after an hour, are actually worse, the hour or so they were better than our normal brand wouldn't be enough to make me cough up the extra cash for them, the only exception would be for if my dd was going to wear a nice party dress with tights, as they were so nice and thin and looked far nicer under tights than the bulkier sainsburys ones, in fact I may keep a couple back for her birthday party in 2 weeks!

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend pampers active fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend them, I don't like my baby's skin to feel damp when I change her, I have used pampers in the past and not had this so really didn't expect it with these nappies, as I said, the fit and tabs were brilliant and I loved the fact they were so thin, but the way they puff up and left my dds skin clammy, combined with the price of them makes them something I wouldn't recommend to a friend.

mmjb · 15/10/2014 10:27

Forget to say we used 3+ they were a good fit

ShadyMyLady · 15/10/2014 10:31

DS 18 months size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Thin and soft. No bulkiness or stiffness like some brands.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

No leaks day or night. Looked comfy with the exception of slight redness on his legs from the inside barrier.

When I used them with my DD1 who is now 10, the side tabs were much stretchier and that was part of the selling point, as baby dry and other brands didn't have the stretchiness. Now all nappies seem to be flexible so I'm not sure of difference between these and baby/simply dry?

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would if I could afford them. I find pampers very expensive comparied to other nappies. I usually buy Aldi nappies, which are good but not as soft. Lower the prices significantly and I'd use them.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

For dryness and fit yes, but not for price.

The chemical smell is also quite noticeable. I didn't find it as strong as others have, but it's definitely there.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time? I only used it at night time and it was great
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not? No, only because of the price
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, if they are willing to pay that amount
chanice · 15/10/2014 11:33

Also used size 6

Spirael · 15/10/2014 11:37

DD2 is 4.5 months and we were testing size 3 nappies.

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They're slimmer and less bulky than the Pampers Baby Dry that we normally use. The performance seems roughly the same.

One thing we did note that is for the Active Fit, the sticky tabs are the same colour as the waist band, making it a bit harder to see them when changing an overnight nappy in dim light. Making them a more contrasting colour would help!

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Relatively well. All wet nappies were contained, but we had a few exploding poonamis. For the smaller nappies when babies are likely still just on milk, I wonder if there is a way to extend the back section a bit further to help prevent these?

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, but I'd probably wait until DD2 is more mobile as the extra bulk of the nappy doesn't really bother her at the moment so the Active Fit being slimmer isn't really required and the Baby Dry work fine.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, but as above I'd probably recommend it for crawling/toddling babies.

MissRee · 15/10/2014 11:56

DD is 2yrs and in a size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They are much, much thinner than the usual nappies I buy for DD (Sainsburys Little Ones) and also more flexible. They do have a horrible chemical smell that I don't get with my usual brand.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They performed fairly well - about the same as my usual brand. With overnight use, her pajama bottoms did feel damp in the mornings but they do with the Sainsburys ones too.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, I don't think they're any better (other than slimmer and more flexible) than the current brand I use and they still have an awful chemical smell when they have pee in them!

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Probably not - the Sainsburys ones are just as good and half the price. I'd probably recommend those over Pampers.

elociN · 15/10/2014 12:02

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
A bit smelly but quite thin and absorbent at the same time.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Ok during the day but occasional leaks during the night, but from my experience with both boys and girls, night time leaks are very hard to avoid with boys regardless of nappy brand.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would esp if they are on special offer
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I'd definitely recommend them.
StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 15/10/2014 12:07

Used size 5 on DD2 who is 15 months.
The nappies were soft, thin & flexible.
They performed well. We didn't have any leakages.
I'm not convinced there's any significant advantage over the baby dry, so I think we'll stick with them unless active fit are cheaper (unlikely!).
I'd recommend pampers to a friend & I'd suggest trying both active fit and baby dry and seeing which suits their baby best.
