DS is 18m and we tried size 5

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Nice design they fit well without looking bulky.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Performed well throughout the day with ds being able to run climb and be up to allsorts of mischief without ant leaks. They performed great at night too he did 12-13hours in them and he was dry no signs if leaks
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would like to use them again but I probably would only buy them if they were on offer or a good deal.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I probably would recommend them the fit was great and that kept my monkey dry throughout the whole experience. Overall I was very impressed with them its a few years since I last used pampers, I switched after a previous product test. I would get these if they were on offer but the only thing against them is the price at the moment.
PrettyVacant1 · 20/10/2014 08:52

DS is 11 months and we tried size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Thin and nice design, really stretchy waistband Although, they had a really strong chemical smell which was a little disconcerting.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
We have had several leaks in the morning after less than 12 hours and even throughout the day they seemed to "feel fuller" more quickly than the usual brand we use, this also contributed to the leakage as it seemed to weigh the front down.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not, not reliable enough for the price.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No, not when there are other brands that perform much better for a lot less money.

What was your overall impression of pampers active fit?

The first thing I noticed was how light the box was when delivered I didn't think it was the nappies and was surprised to find a whole pack in there. Also the nappies are very thin but strong

How did pampers active fit perform through out the day and night?

These leaked at night and needed changing more during the day

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not why not?

I would not use them again because my baby is more suited to the pull up nappies because he finds it too easy to pull the tags and get the nappy off. Also its easier to get pull ups on a very big wriggly 19 month old than to try and fasten tags in the correct place.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers active fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Not for this product

Thank you for choosing us for this trial

thebluefoxategreensocks · 20/10/2014 09:28

I've never been keen on Pampers - had bad experience of them in the past. But surprisingly, I've not had any leaks with the tester pack. My little boy is 2 years old, so not sure how they'd work for a young baby/explosive poo stage! I think the fit on the back might mean leaks for younger ones. But for a toddler, I was impressed. I'm a cloth nappy user, but have been using disposables for night time, and these Pampers actually performed better than the brand I usually use!

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I was impressed - and surprised to be impressed too, as not keen on the brand before.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No leaks day or night - kept the skin dry, no rashes or anything - not bad!
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
The price is more than I usually pay for his night time disposables, but the fact that we had NO leaks, I might just be tempted to buy them.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, for toddlers. NOt sure about how the fit of them would work for young babies.
NaiceAm · 20/10/2014 09:31

Before I start I just want to reiterate what others have said - pampers, if you are listening this is the 21st century- dads, grandparents, other carers change nappies too. Your tv clip was incredibly patronising and out dated. Why send a stick when you could email a link to YouTube and use the savings to reduce the cost of your nappies? Finally, it took so long for this trial to start I thought my kids would have grown up and left home before we received the trial pack! Ok, rant over

Identical twin girls 14 months old size 4

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Thinner and much less bulky than other nappies.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
surprisingly well given how thin they are

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I can't see how I could justify the additional cost of them - we get through a lot of nappies!

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I'm still a pampers baby dry devotee.

HuggleBuggleBear · 20/10/2014 09:33

8 month old size 4

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Overall I like the fit of the nappy and can see how it allows my daughter to move without restriction. Look good quality appearance wise. Nappy looked quite slim.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
My daughter's nappy leaked while using them at night, something which doesn't happen with the normal pampers nappies baby dry. Performed well during the day.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not due to the night time leaking and also my daughter developed a nappy rash, her first in 8 months which might be a coincidence but has put me off them abit.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
To be honest don't think I would go out of my way to recommend due to the issues with leaking and nappy rash. I would recommend pampers baby dry.

NoTeaForMe · 20/10/2014 11:11

My daughter is 17 months old in a size 4 nappy

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They're nice and thin, and seemed to fit well. However, they do move quite a bit throughout the day and night. They leaked a couple of nights and I didn't feel confident in the day, as they did sag and move quite quickly.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They leaked a couple of nights and a little one day.
- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I won't be using these nappies again, we currently use Pampers Simply dry or baby dry and they keep our daughter dry and comfortable through the night and they stay firmly in place.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit? I wouldn't recommend them. I liked how slim and soft they are but they don't offer the fit and dryness you expect from a nappy.

Child with Special Needs Age 6

Overall impression: Good, fit really well and seem quite absorbent. I like how thin they are and the smell/design.

Performance: Seem ok, we have a lot of urine to deal with (as child is older) but no leaks and skin all seems fine after using

Yes would use again, if not too expensive. Slighty better than the ones we get via NHS, and if on offer somewhere would pick up a pack to supplement supply. Would probably recommend, depending on price.

78net · 20/10/2014 11:49

Baby boy 10 Months 4+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Good quality and not bulky they also had a nice high back. I have a baby boy and I found the nappies bulged excessively at the front where the urine had been soaked up and tended to leak while the back part remained dry. Other nappies we use are more uniform in their absorbance of urine front to back, preventing the likelihood of leaks.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They performed reasonably well although we have had some leakage. I would not use the active fit for nigh time due to leakage.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not, due to nappy leakage and relatively high price. Active fit are one of the most expensive in the pampers range and are rarely on offer. We prefer pampers baby dry and no leakage.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No, there are other nappies on the market at a better price which we have had no leakage issues with.
Givemecoffeeplease · 20/10/2014 11:58

My 8mo has found them great as he learns to cruise. Dry with a good fit both day and night, no explosions or leaks. I'd recommend them. However not sure how they differ to other pampers brands. I didn't notice any chemical smell and he never gets nappy rash and this was true of these nappies too.

Cute designs etc. I'd be interested in hearing how long they take to degrade and what the impact on landfill is (I know I should do real nappies. I just havent got the energy!!)

lolliplop · 20/10/2014 12:12

Hi, I have been trialing Pampers Active Fit size 4+ on my 17 month old son and here are my comments.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Positive. My son is still waking and I've got him off milk and onto water and reducing the amount but because he drinks, he has been waking up wet most mornings. This is the main reason I wanted to try Pampers Active Fit, to see if it helped the situation. It has, definitely an improvement.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Daytime is fine and as above, night time is good. There were leaks on 2 mornings but much better than previous. I also don't want to confirm it is the nappy as I think I may have needed a size 5 instead of 4+ so will try those next to see if that sorts the final leaks.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely. They seem much thinner than other nappies too which I feel is much better for my son's mobility.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, so far and improvement and I will be able to comment more after trying the size 5s.

Many thanks

Lauren

Nouseforausername · 20/10/2014 12:22
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit? They're not bad at all, very thin but nice and absorbant
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time? They did well in the daytime, I'd requested 4+as this was what we were in at the time, however had been having some leak problems recently so had actually been trialling the 5+ for night time which are working a treat
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not? Have actually switched back to them from the aldi ones as they are thinner, feel more absorbant and are doing great overnight :)
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
definately
kittykate81 · 20/10/2014 12:38

Please state the age of your child and the size of Active Fit nappies you were trying in your response.

9 months, size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Nice and thin, very easy to put on, attractive design.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Brilliant during the day, they keep poo in better than any other nappy I've tried. I haven't had a single leak during the day. My daughter seems comfortable in them and they don't restrict her movement.

At night, unfortunately, I find they frequently leak. They just don't seem to be able to cope with the 8-10 oz my daughter drinks before bed which is a shame.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I am using active fit during the day but at night I now use baby dry which don't tend to leak. Unfortunately, baby dry don't hold in poo anywhere near as well as active fit so I don't like using them in the day. What a pity I can't seem to find a nappy which copes as well with both liquids and solids.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes, as above, I would recommend them for daytime usage but not at night.

NornIrishNut · 20/10/2014 13:34

DD is 1 year and using Size 4.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Nappies were thinner than the ones i regularly use and therefore easier to carry around.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
During the day i found the nappies quite good, with the stretch, they suited my active baby who was just learning to find her feet. The only time we had leakage was during the night; i regularly had to wash sleep suits in the morning.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would use the nappies again during the day if i had them, however, not at night. As the brand i currently use work both daytime and night for dryness, i think i would continue to bulk up on one nappy staple.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
As from my experience, i would recommend for fit (on my baby) and for daytime dryness, but would not recommend for nighttime.

Vikiib · 20/10/2014 13:47
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I though they were very good, lightweight, good fit and flexible.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Through the day they were good but I wouldn't use them at night because the don't hold as much liquid and feel wet through the nappy.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would these again but only during the day to allow for better movement. not at night as they aren't very good when quite wet.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I would recommend them for active babies during the day but not for night time!
Vikiib · 20/10/2014 13:48

Oops I forgot we used size 4 for my 1 year old daughter

ViperActive · 20/10/2014 13:54
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

they were thin, soft and comfortable. They did have an slight odd smell and I noticed I could smell her urine a bit more than my usual nappy even after just an hour of being worn. They did for well.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

through the day they performed fine, except I felt they smelled a bit more than my usual nappy. At night I changed half way through night as it got quite full feeling and my usual nappy brand goes 10 -12 hours through to get to that fullness in morning.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use if I had no other choice as I feel the nappy I already use, pampers baby dry is exactly what I like and I am happy with it so I don't want to change for the active fit as I feel it's no better.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

the fit is good and comfortable but for dryness and performance I prefer my usual nappy so overall I would only recommend the active fit if a parent/guardian had trouble with well fitting nappies.

Thank you for letting me trial the product.

SunshineDaisiesButterMellow · 20/10/2014 13:57

Ds is 18 months old and in size 5+ nappies.

  • I was quite apprehensive about trying the nappies when they finally arrived due to the negative feedback I read on here. But I was very pleased with them. Liked the look and they were much thinner than my normal nappies.
I didn't like the smell but took them all out of the pack and the next day they seemed ok.

  • They performed very well. Ds is very active climbing everywhere and they did not leak once. They were very bulging in the morning after a whole night 6pm to 7 am, but no leaks.

  • I don't think I would buy them unless they were on offer as I usually buy aldi, Tesco or asda and have not had problems with any of them so would not spend extra just for thinner nappies..

  • I would but would also recommend the others that I use just for the value factor.

ViperActive · 20/10/2014 14:06

I forgot to say, DD is 11 months and in size 5. Answers are above Smile

Nouseforausername · 20/10/2014 14:09

oops. forgot. ds is 16mo and we rrialled size 4+

Iamnotanugget · 20/10/2014 14:14

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?The first thing I noticed was how thin they are. I like the pictures on them but they're unnecessary, a plain nappy will do. I think they are probably the best nappy I have used with ds, 5 months, size 3.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time? Very well. Ds is still feeding at night so he's very wet in morning. His nappy was bulging but no leaks. During the day it gave a good fit and rarely needed changing.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not? Although I am impressed with how thin they are and how well they perform, I think the difference between them and Boots own is small enough that I can't justify the price difference.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit? Yes. I do believe these are the best nappies I've ever used but only just.

Wjjkl · 20/10/2014 14:21

Son is 10 months and in 4+ nappies

Like others, I found the nappy to be lightweight, flexible and soft feeling providing good dryness during the day.

I wouldn't use the active fit nappy overnight as I don't find it as effective or absorbant as the baby dry nappies he usually wears overnight.

I would recommend this nappy and although they are expensive, there is very regularly a BOGOF type deal in the supermarkets which means they become very good value - and quality wise, you get what you pay for

nappiesandnaptimes · 20/10/2014 15:35

Dd2 is 8.5months and wearing size 4

  • First impressions were good, lightweight and thin. Felt soft to touch.
  • The nappy performed well during the day but leaked at night.
  • I actually prefer Baby-dry if I'm going to buy Pampers as they don't leak at all. Although I was pleasantly surprised by the active-fit nappies I find Morrison's better value for money.
  • I would say they were very good but that they are probably a bit too expensive.

Thank you!

McFox · 20/10/2014 19:04

DS is 4 months old and wearing size 3.

Overall impression - these nappies are really light, soft and flexible. They ate easy to carry around. They fit really well. Unfortunately they also stink, it's a really horrible chemical scent which I found very off putting, particularly since we have been using unbleached eco nappies and reusables since DS was born. I was also concerned that they might give DS a rash when he's not used to such scents, but gladly this doesn't seem to have happened.

Performance - overall they have been very good. A recent change in medication means that DS is doing explosive poos that his previous nappies just couldn't contain. The Active Fit nappies mainly contained it with only a couple of exceptions. As this can happen at any time of the day or night it's been very important to have a well fitting absorbent nappy. The nappy has often been bulging in the morning, but there was only one leaking incident when there was no poo.

Use again? - I would and have in fact bought some more already. While the smell of these nappies is not nice at all, neither is dealing with poo covered clothes/bedding etc, so I've decided to stick with these nappies for now. If the smell could be dealt with they would be even better in my opinion.

Recommend? - Yes, I have done so already.

They really are very good, and while they may seem expensive, the eco nappies that is been using were more so. I would be interested to know how long they take to biodegrade as this was a key consideration when choosing to use the eco nappies and reusables in the first place.

DaisySteinersChickenStew · 20/10/2014 19:35

Test child is 12 months and wore a 5+. Could probably have done with a size up but I gave the size he was at the time we were asked. Unfortunately quite a long time passed before we received the nappies and he grew a bit. Nonetheless...

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They were ok. I liked the lack of bulk and the tabs were better than most. They felt secure and nice and stretchy.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They performed well considering test baby should've been a size up. Only leaked with an explosive poo and twice soaked through during the night due to saturation.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I probably would if they were on offer. I would use them again because they are slimline. The only thing that put me off was the smell.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Fit, possibly. Dryness, not more than any other nappy.
