DS is 2 and we tested the size 4 nappies.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Very thin, and fit well under clothes. I can't say that I noticed a smell, as others have commented on, and I have a very sensitive nose.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No leaks at all, and no redness/rubbing where the elastic goes (which DS sometimes gets). Despite being thin, they hold up very well when filled.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, definitely.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes I would.

19 months, size 5.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Great, as I have come to expect from Pampers. I have used them with DC since day one but have always used Baby Dry. Now we have walking and climbing, I wanted to see if they withstood an active toddler and they do. I have never experienced any of the chemical smells others have mentioned [and I have a sensitive nose!] and we never have leaks. I am impressed with how much liquid they hold and how dry DC's skin keeps.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Great. Withstood active toddler all day and throughout the night too.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes but prefer Baby Dry. I think it's just in the mind as they perform just as well.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Definitely. People that talk about cost, just buy them on offer!

northernmummeh · 18/10/2014 23:30

DD is 2.5 and we are testing size 5

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Small and compact. Nice pattern on them but that's pretty irrelevant once you have clothes on. Didn't seem bulky. However once I got them on they seemed really small. Dd is slap bang in the middle of the weight for this size but compared so a size 5 aldi nappy which we normally use these seem rather on the snug side and could probably do with a 5+

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Day time they were fine. Dd has sensitive skin and a lot of nappies we have found give her almost what looks like skin burns and so far so good with these. However they have the most bizarre unpleasant smell which resulted in too many 'does she need changing I'll have a quick check' which drove me potty.

As for the night time. Absolute disaster. 12 hours of dryness my arse! We used them 3 nights on the bounce. Dd goes to bed about 8 ish and she was waking me at 6am so what 10 hours and every time they'd leaked. And were not just talking a little bit. They were sopping, heavy, bulging, soaked through her pajamas and bedding. Im a working mum and washing her sheets 3 times in a week is the last thing I need!

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No. To unreliable. See above about leaks. Too expensive and I think there are better brands at a more competitive price available

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No.

webster147 · 19/10/2014 06:51

The pampers Active Fit nappies look very comfortable for baby to wear, no harsh materials, they look less bulky than other brands of nappies.

Both during the day & overnight the nappies performed well for us, we had no leaks at all & the nappy remained a good shape even when wet.

We are regular Pampers customers so we will definately continue to use Active Fit, in fact we have swapped from Pampers Baby Dry to Active Fit.

I would & already have recommended Pampers to friends & family, other brands might be cheaper but it's a false economy if you have to use twice as many because of leaks.

trilbydoll · 19/10/2014 08:22

We were a bit neglectful yesterday and DD wore the same nappy for about 5 hours. She now has nappy rash, which she hardly ever gets.

So on that basis I can say they aren't as absorbent or as good at wicking away the wee as Sainsburys are. I know 5 hours is pushing it, but I don't think it is out of this world unreasonable.

17 month old wearing size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They haven't really left an impression, they are just nappies
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They performed well, although at times the outside of the nappy has felt a little cold/damp when there has been no leaks. However they are no better than my usual cheaper nappies.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would but only if they were on offer and therefore the cheapest option at the time I was buying nappies.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No, I don't believe that they perform any better than other cheaper nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

There is a smell to them that I don't like. But the fit and dryness is very good. I like the designs on them. The tabs stick well and they are not bulky.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

There performed well no leaks day or night. Comfy for my daughter.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not sure they are a good nappy but pricey and there is a smell that I really don't like.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes they fit well and are dry during day and night.

JemimaButtons · 19/10/2014 09:42

DS aged 2.3 is just recently potty trained during the day but we still use these at night. We've used these for a while. I was unsure at first, but then fell in love with them and wouldn't use anything else.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I was initially a bit unsure about the 'flat' part at the back of the nappy thinking that the nappy may leak. But actually, they just make the nappy much more comfortable, as it's not as bulky as other nappies but still fantastically absorbent, and we've never had any leaks. Even over night.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
When they were used during the day they were great, comfy, absorbent, no accidents. But the important thing for me when it comes to nappies, is no leaking at night! Sleep is just so important, and both my kids would (naturally!) wake in the night if the were wet. These nappies seem so comfy, as they aren't bulky, but still very, very absorbent and we've never had any wetness at night. Even though the nappy is extremely heavy after 12 hours sleep.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I love them. And when we travel abroad, I search everywhere to try to find them. In Italy, they are called "Pampers Progressi"!!!

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Absolutely!

makapakasdirtysponge · 19/10/2014 09:43

My overall impression of Pampers Active fit was that they were much thinner than I expected, very soft, flexible, very stretchy and I really liked the patterns and colours. They were easy to put on. I usually use an Eco-nappy brand and these did feel a lot more "plasticy" but I did like the way they fitted DS thanks to their softness.

The little tabs felt quite rough to touch, a bit like Velcro, but were effective at keeping everything in place for my very active boy.

They had a strange smell, almost almondy, which I wasn't keen on.

My son's skin was a bit itchy around the tummy so I wonder if he found the plastics a bit irritating or maybe I'm doing them up a bit tighter as they're stretchier than I'm used to.

They performed really well both day and night, no leaks over 12 hours and not even much dampness at all. No complaints there.

I would recommend them if a friend mentioned they were specifically looking for a nappy that didn't leak and had tried other brands, but I'm not v keen on the smell.

I probably will keep a stash to use when DS is going through a "leaky" phase when the usual eco brand isn't up to it, but am likely only to buy on special offer.

makapakasdirtysponge · 19/10/2014 09:44

Oops sorry DS is 21 months and size 5.

JemimaButtons · 19/10/2014 09:45

Ps we used size 5+

notoneforselfies · 19/10/2014 10:57

Like these nappies - very thin which is great for my handbag, no leaks at all and even coped with some terrible diarrhoea admirably. Like the stretchiness of the fastenings - no gaping even after a few hours wear. Only downside is the price. I'd buy them again but only on special offers. Though superior to my usual purchase, not enough to justify the additional cost on something so eminently disposable!

notoneforselfies · 19/10/2014 10:59

Oh - and very impressed that, after taking so long to receive he was the wrong size, that mumsnet sorted me out with the correct size as a second delivery. Thank you mumsnet! The box also bought me a hot cup of tea as DS was happily sitting in it and chewing it.Grin

notoneforselfies · 19/10/2014 11:00

God I'm rubbish at this, sorry: DS 9 months size 4.

Gilliancollins78 · 19/10/2014 11:00

Jennifer is 17 months in size 4 nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Good. Much improved from when I used them with my son. Not too bulky and nice and flexible for movement but at the same time, strong.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They were great. I was initially wary of overnight due to previous bad experiences and also she has been wetting through other brands of nappies but they were fantastic. No wet overnight or during the day either. Jennifer also had a 24 hour tummy bug with explosive nappies but the active fits managed to contain the poop no bother.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes although it would only be when they are on offer. Liked that jennifer had a less bulky bum, freedom of movement and stayed dry.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, at toddler/baby groups the topic often comes up as there are lots of new and first time mums so I'll definitely recommend them.
lottegraham · 19/10/2014 11:57

hi my child is 1 and he has size 5 nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
i like how thin they are, not very bulky but there a bit smelly.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
through the day they werent so bad only because i change him so often. but he has leaked through every night and i have gone back to my old nappies at night.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
no, there more expensive than my nappies and to get through the night i would have to but my nappies anyway
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
no i havent got much good to say about them really. :(
fourthandfinal · 19/10/2014 17:02
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I thought they were tidy nappies when put on, very neat. But as soon as my son did a wee in them, they looked like they were hanging between his knees and not very comfortable. I felt they had an odd smell to them as soon as he had done a wee.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Although they didn't leak, if they were wet and he then did a slightly less than solid poo, it really didn't deal with them well, it ended up squished everywhere and, on one occasion, escaping slightly from the legs.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not really. I felt that the initial wow reaction to the thinness was totally spoilt by the excessive bulging that happened post wee and I wasn't hugely impressed with how it dealt with both wee and poo if it wasn't a recently put on nappy.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

For fit, possibly. For dryness, no.

Innocuoususername · 19/10/2014 17:25

Thanks for the nappies. We used size 3 on 4mo DD.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

The nappies were soft and thin, but had a funny chemical smell which got worse when they were wet.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Daytime they were fine for wees, although I thought they seemed fuller more quickly than my usual supermarket brand. I was interested to see if they were better for poos, as we've had issues with leaks from the top of our usual brand, but this was an issue with the Pampers too. They performed quite well around the legs though, I think we had fewer leaks there.
At night time we didn't have any leaks, but DD definitely seemed more restless and uncomfortable and so after 2 nights we switched back to Baby Dry at night.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not. The smell really put me off and the performance doesn't really justify the extra you would pay compared to supermarket brands.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

No.

DS, 7 months, size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit? i was impressed with the quality, thinness and the softness of these al though they did give of a weird smell.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time? perfect both day and night, never any leaks or explosions and fit nicely on DS.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not? i would most defiantly use them again they were great apart from smell.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit? without doubt but a bit pricey.
HPD76 · 19/10/2014 20:02

Please state the age of your child and the size of Active Fit nappies you were trying in your response.
Aged 3 size 5+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
More lightweight than "normal" nappies, soft, not bulky, easier and more comfortable for him to move about in. Seemed to hold a fair quantity of liquid (sorry).
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
We mainly use nappies at night as he's pretty much potty trained during the day, but they kept him dry for most of the night, obviously we changed him if he woke naturally, there were a few leaks but then the nappy had gone 12 hours or more, any nappy would've leaked.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I like the Active Fit, they're much better especially for daytime use, they're less bulky and I think that makes it easier for them to move about.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes definitely.

Overall Impression
They were thin and not at all bulky. Didn't take up too much room in the changing bag. I liked the cute pictures, and glad they were numbered with the size (handy when you have two DC in nappies).

Performance
They were pretty good and kept him dry. We had no explosions or leakages. But he did have a little redness where the elastic was.

Use again?
I would use again. But I would probably only buy if they were on offer. They are more expensive than other brands which perform just as well.

Recommendation
I might mention them but I wouldn't say they perform better than cheaper brands I've used.

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I was surprised how thin they were, lots less bulky than usual ones. Bit over 'decorated' for my liking. Some of tapes were fiddly and unstuck or stuck in wrong place. As others have said, smell is horrible.
- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
My daughter has been potty trained through day for a while now, but as we have been through a lot of change at moment, we have been using nappies again, I found they held a reasonable amount, but obviously she is changed more during day. To be honest, I didn't expect much from them at night, surely they were too thin, but they mostly stayed dry, a couple of nights we had leaks, but only in the morning, just before changing, however they were bulging and looked really uncomfortable.
- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
They were less bulky so looked better under clothes, but too expensive compared to my usual brand (boots Baby), I don't feel the benefit is great enough to justify extra cost.
- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I'd recommend others first, but maybe these for daytime.

BrowneSugar · 20/10/2014 00:43

-What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They feel much better than many other brands in terms of the material used to make them and they fit well.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No leaks and a dry bottom in the morning. Worn for a longer time without needing to change as often.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would use them if they are on offer or the price is competitive.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes I would

DS 5months size 4

  1. good impression, nice light and soft feeling nappies. There was a strange smell though. It must have been quite strong because even my DH noticed it and he's oblivious to most things!

  2. daytime use was good, I liked the fit and he was comfortable to bounce and roll in them. We had one massive poo leak when we went out though so not ideal in the pushchair when the LO are more static. For this reason, nighttime use was not great either , had to change in the middle of the night which I don't have to do with normal brand.

  3. I would definitely use again in daytime but would stick with my current nappy brand for nights.

  4. yes. I would recommend to parents who have wriggly babies but specify that they are not good for times when the baby is static.

strawberryowl · 20/10/2014 07:32

I have always used these happily for girls but I now have a son. I was really unhappy with these and stopped using them. They were very smelly very quickly after changing and they puffed up at the front seeming to drag the nappy down and putting too much weight on the tabs.

He got very sore in his creases and round his boy bits which had never happened before.

Poos leaked up the back.

I won't be buying these for him and I wouldn't recommend them.
