We tested size 5+ with DS aged 20 months.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I have used Just4Bums nappies from Kiddicare for my DS since birth and thought they were great but they only go up to a size 5 so we have recently been using Pampers Baby Dry which were dreadful for leaking, so I wasn't feeling too optimistic about trying the Active Fit.

My overall impression of these nappies was that they were actually a lot better than the Baby Dry nappies for absorbency and for comfort and fit I thought they seemed much softer and more streamlined than other cheaper supermarket nappies we have tried. However although we have had no major leaks, they do seem to allow some dampness out around the legs causing clothing to get very slightly damp to the touch and I also feel they don't have the capacity to hold as much wee as other nappies we have used as they seem to bulk up and get enormous very quickly and need changing more regularly.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

I found the nappies to perform equally well throughout the day and night. They didn't have any 'proper' leaks but as I mentioned, they did allow a small amount of dampness to form on DS vest around the legs of his nappy. After just one wee they felt like they needed changed because they had become bulky so I was concerned how they would perform overnight, but touch wood, they have been ok so far.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would use them again over Pampers Baby Dry as they have performed 100x better. I think the price is a bit high but they are always on offer in supermarkets anyway so I wouldn't be put off as I would avoid paying full price by waiting for promotions.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I would recommend them for fit as they seem comfy especially for an active almost two year old. The dryness point is a strange one for me - they have kept DS dry essentially, but I have had to change them more regularly so I don't feel the absorbency is up to that of other nappy brands.

merylstreepcouldplaybatman · 17/10/2014 16:22

DS is 2.9 and we tried size 5+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I liked how slim they seemed. They also appeared pretty soft to the touch. They seemed a bit smaller than Pampers simply dry or Tesco's own nappies that we regularly use though although he appeared to be comfortable in them.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time? My son is a guzzler of drinks in the day and the nappies lasted pretty much the same as our usual nappies, only leaking when he'd done a huge amount of wee's. He rarely wee's in the night so leaks weren't a problem there.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not? I would but only if the price was comparable to our usual nappies. I can't say I found them any better or worse than the nappies I mentioned above.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit? I would yes if they were finding their usual nappy was leaking, they'd be worth a try.

Nanasueathome · 17/10/2014 16:46

12 month old boy, size 4 nappies

Overall impression
Do agree with others who have posted that the nappies do smell, even after just one wee.
They are super thin and do fit well but the smell did put me off

Performance
Performed well during the day with regular nappy changes
Overnight had one explosive nappy ( where baby slept for 11 hours)
Nappies did seem to weigh heavy as well when in use

Use again
Already use Pampers and generally buy in bulk when on special offer
Have no reason to change from what use at the moment

Recommend
Just happy with Pampers as a whole so would not necessarily recommend these as opposed to regular nappies

BauerTime · 17/10/2014 17:02

Overall impression- nice and thin
Day and night - great. Using them DS woke up with dry pyjamas for the 1st time in ages.
Use again? - considering buying them for use at night but not general use due to price.
Would I recommend? - yes definitely.

BauerTime · 17/10/2014 17:03

Sorry DS is 14 months size 4+

BertaVanStyles · 17/10/2014 17:24

18 Months - Size 5 Nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

My overall impression of the nappies was alright. Despite the smell, which I hope is not a regular occurance, I have had no problems with the nappies. They fit nicely, and survive a very active toddler throughout playtime with climbing, rolling and playing.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

As above, they endured my active toddler, and with regular nappy changes I've had no problems with the nappies, neither during the day nor during the night.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would, but I would probably not purchase them due to the price. I can get great nappies I've never had a problem with from Aldi, and I get twice as many for less money than the Active Fits.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Maybe, if it came up in a comparison conversation.

rlouisa · 17/10/2014 18:05

Ds is 2yrs and i used size 5

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
i like the look and feel of it, it looks pretty on a babys bum

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
not so great im afraid, not sure if its cos hes an older boy n drinks alot of waters, but the nappy was always sagging under the weight and he had to tear it off himself. and this was within 3hrs
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not? i wont use this one because i think its probably for younger babies but i will still use the easy ups
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit? depends on the kids age
Solasum · 17/10/2014 19:10

10 month old boy size 3+

Very strong chemical smell, but thin and fit well. I really don't seee the point in having patterns on nappies though.

Work well during the day, and contained all but the most explosive teething nappy. We norrmally use babydry at night, but this seemed equally good. Though they are more expensive and not sure DS is active enough to warrant them at night.

Would use them again. This is partially because DS has reacted badly to both brands of nonPampers nappies I have tried though.

Yes, would recommend.

McGriffo · 17/10/2014 19:35

I tried Size 5 nappies on my 2.4 year old DS.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
That they were very thin and well elasticated.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
OK during the day time. Mostly OK during the night time but occasionally DS's pyjamas were a bit damp at the front in the morning.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I think so. I like their lack of bulk and they fit well. I would try to get them on offer though and they wouldn't replace my usual brand (Aldi).
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I would recommend them for fit and lack of bulk but wouldn't recommend them for dryness.
TedGlen · 17/10/2014 19:40

Dd is 22 months and wears size 4.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I really liked them. We usually use baby dry, and these are much less bulky.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They performed brilliantly during the day, even coping with some explosive teething poos without any leakage. They seem wider across the bottom than baby dry and seem to stay put better. I haven't tried them at night yet.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not? I'm a convert and will be buying these next time we run out of nappies.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit? Yes, definitely. Thank you for the free packet.
AppleCrumble1 · 17/10/2014 20:06

I tested size 3 nappies on my 21 week old DS

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I expected a lot and was slightly disappointed
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
During the day they were ok but prefer Pampers new baby due to keeping baby drier & the wetness indicator. This is the same for night time
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would when DS starts to crawl & becomes more active especially if on offer!
  • If it came in conversation, would you commend Pampers Active Fit other parents for dryness ad fit
For an older baby yes but would suggest new baby for under 7 months
BoredNinja · 17/10/2014 20:12
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I tried size 3 on my 4 month old. Overall impression is that they are ok but they reek, to the extent that I had concerns about putting something with such a strong chemical smell on my baby. The smell has reduced since opening the packet but is still present and is very unpleasant - it's making me want to get the cloth nappies out!

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They have been fine both day and night - no leaks at all, and contained a poo explosion which I think would have come up the back of our usual nappies. They do get very bulky at the front.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, although I was happy with the absorbency, the smell is just not worth it. Price would also be a factor if they didn't smell so strongly.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Probably not, but if I did I would also mention the revolting smell.

nannynome · 17/10/2014 20:28

DS 9 months 4+ nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

They fit well, stayed put and seemed comfortable for him.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

During the day they performed well although we did notice him getting a bit red in comparison to when he wears his washable nappies.
During the night they were not suitable as they leaked considerably. We use washables and changed to them for exactly this reason as we can stuff with more padding and make sure he doesn't leak overnight.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

We will use them whilst he is teething or when he has a tummy bug but will stay with washable nappies for the rest of the time due to them being better for overnights, better for the environment and leave him with less red patches and sore spots.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I recommend washables generally but normally recommend pampers (having used many different nappies whilst working with children) for those not interested in washables.

AndHarry · 17/10/2014 20:52

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They worked well and were very thin so no bulk.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
We've had a few leaks during the day, mainly because DD keeps wriggling and they're so thin that I end up not getting the crotch quite in the right place and not realising until it's too late. DD soaked straight through them at night time unfortunately but she is a big wee-er and drinks a lot at and through the night too.

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, they're too expensive when cheaper options work just fine. I used to buy them as my standard nappy for my older child but stopped when Pampers brought out a new design that smelled dreadful. These ones are less stinky but I'm just not used to paying that much for nappies any more.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
They're very well fitting so if someone was having problems with bulkiness I would recommend them.

AndHarry · 17/10/2014 20:53

Sorry, DD is now 19 months in size 4+ nappies.

mummy2monkeys · 17/10/2014 22:06

Age 18 months size 6

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Great. We use pampers baby dry or simply dry usually but I found the active fit, fitted better around my sons waist and bum cheeks.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Perfect we had no leaks, no red marks in the waist. Couldn't fault.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes definitely already stocked up

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes also I work in a nursery and I would recommend them to parents and colleagues with little ones

godeeva · 18/10/2014 01:13

Son aged 9 months - early crawler, thin and tall build
No leaking day or night. In fact, as a test, after 14 hours nappy v full but dry.
Waistband adjustable but a bit too wide/big for thinner babies
The only brand I use....so happy with it
Son loves it too - he plays with a new nappy while I chage his nappy

MummyIsh · 18/10/2014 10:38

Daughter aged 9 months

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Very thin, looked different aesthetically to other Pampers nappies I've used previous (Baby Dry, New Baby, etc). Paler colours so looked more like a cheaper brand (supermarket own). Very strong smell, especially when wet, so couldn't use them more than a day, as actually made me feel nauseous!
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Not bad for dryness, but I didn't use them for long due to the strong smell.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Nope, smell too bad. Perhaps it was only the samples, but it's put me off buying them in store, which is a shame, as we've used Pampers and nothing else since our daughter was born.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Nope - for reasons above

Also very disappointed with the way the product test was handled - I only got my nappies a few days ago, the box was open with the nappies hanging out, and the USB stick was no where to be seen!

noney1234 · 18/10/2014 13:25

My son is 19 months and we tried size 5 in the Active Fit.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
As others said there was a sort of plastic smell of these but I didn't find it overly offensive. I found they had additional stretch which made them easier to fit on my son than the babydry that we normally use.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
I was happy with the performance during both day and night. My son is very active running around, climbing etc. It nappy did leak on one occasion but it was extremely full after a long nights sleep so I was not suprised.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
In theory I would use these again, but I would not be prepared to pay more than my current nappies.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I think definitely for fit. My son is very tall and I think the added stretch made these nappies easier to fasten than the babydry.
BB01 · 18/10/2014 14:24

Tested on dd aged fifteen months, size 4

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Effective

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No leaks. Appeared to be very dry even after a whole night.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, if on special offer. Not sure they are worth the price when others perform just, or almost, as well.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes if they are offer

Daughter 17 months size 5

q1.)What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I thought that they looked great, i liked the design and the pattern on them and they looked really stretchy and they also felt really soft and not as bulky as other nappies.
q2.) How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Really well, we normally use pampers baby dry but sometimes we have leaks at night time but with the active fit daughter has been waking up dry every night we have used them , have also noticed that her skin feels dryer off these nappies. They performed really well during the day time too with no leaks at all and they did not sag at all when her nappy was getting full.
q3.) Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
yes i am going to buy them all the time from now on, we have always used pampers nappies on her since birth and i was aware of active fit but used the baby dry as we were happy with them and didn't want to change her nappies but since trying these out i prefer them as they are stretchy and easy to fit on a wriggling toddler and her skin feels dryer and we have had no leaks during the night.
q4.) If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
yes i would do as they are a perfect fit and stretch and move with my toddler and she has been nice and dry with them.

Cherryjellybean · 18/10/2014 16:05

We tried the size 3, my daughter is now 4 months.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Light, flexible, small and strong. They did leak poo though ( like nearly every other disposable nappy I have tried).
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They were good at containing wee day and night. They allowed poo to come out, but so have nearly every nappy we have tried. ( so we are just starting to use reusable nappies more as this happens less).
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would as a back up, they keep her dry at least :)
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
For dryness yes. My daughter would have fitted the size 3+ or 4 better I think but they came about a month later than expected so she had grown a lot since we applied. So I'm not sure whether they would have fitted better if we had had the right size. :)
rollmeover · 18/10/2014 19:15

Size 3+ for 8month old (small) boy
Great nappies, great now he is crawling.

No leaks but he is not a heavy wetter, and no problems at night.
I think pampers are the best quality nappy on the market and I will buy them again (especially if an offer in bulk) but supermarket varieties (particularly Aldi) provide the almost the same for a much reduced price.
If I had a heavy wetter I would probably be more inclined to use them.

Would definately recommend.

eggsnbacon · 18/10/2014 19:30

DD is 13 months and we tried the size 4

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They were thinner than our usual Aldi nappies, and I do think DD could move more easily in them which was good as she is learning to walk. They do have a strong smell but I didn't find it too offensive and it didn't put me off using them.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
No leaks at all and I liked the fact that they didn't get really heavy once wet.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would use again if cheaper but could not afford to use them all the time.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes
Cuppy84 · 18/10/2014 20:29

Tested size 4 on 7 month old.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Impressed with the fit! Tried these a while back after outgrowing the pampers new baby range and felt they were a bit rough on waistband so moved to baby dry. The active fit seem to fit her like a glove and don't constrict her tummy while sitting up like others so very pleased.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Coped well even with a rather impressive dirty nappy! Have noticed that she had a bit of redness after being in the baby dry all night but it has cleared since using the active fit. Only off put is the smell once it becomes wet, can tell I need to change her from across the room!
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Have already purchased more since finishing test pack as the fit sealed the deal. Being podgy she needs the room/give that active fit provide but not the bulk of a larger nappy.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes I would.
