My daughter is 19 months and we tested size 4+

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I like the size and elasticity of them, my usual Aldi brand are stiff and look quite bulky between her legs whereas these are much softer against her skin and mould to her shape better although they could do with being longer up the front.
They also take up less room in my changing bag.
The tabs are very stretchy and appear to secure the nappy tightly without cutting into her tummy

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Daytime they were fine, very absorbent and after watching the video I paid particular notice to how dry her skin was and was pleased to see that her skin was indeed dry even when the nappy was fairly full of urine.
My daughter does get toddler diarrhoea from time to time and they did leak around the leg if I didn't spot the poo in time but to be fair so has every other brand we've tried

Night time they have leaked both times badly at the front, my daughter sleeps face down and often for 12-14 hours, I understand it's a lot to expect from a nappy but my Aldi ones did outperform them during the night. She was soaked through her vest, sleepsuit, sleeping bag and sheet , hence my earlier comment about Pampers being a little short at the front, it could also be a downside to the softness and they are more prone to ride down than the stiffer nappies.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes definitely for daytime as they look very comfortable for her and very flexible, especially when we go to a toddler group or soft play session and I am happy with how dry her skin was.

I wouldn't use them for night time though due to the severe leakages at the front, they are an expensive brand and I don't mind paying more for her to be comfortable but as I had to wash her bedding each day it makes it too expensive and more importantly not nice for her to be lay in urine, on the second morning she was soaked up to her armpits.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes for daytime but no for night time, the daytime dryness and fit were the two things that impressed me the most.

Rigbyroo · 16/10/2014 21:03

Baby is 4.5 months and tested size 3.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit? Very pleased, I had recently heard negative things about pampers but I was pleased with the fit and effectiveness of these. They did seem to have a slightly unpleasant smell though.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night? They were great, we were thinking of moving up to next size as we were having night wee leakage and poos right up the back but didn't have any of these issues.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes as fit was good and no leakage.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit? Yes.
zippyrainbowbrite · 16/10/2014 21:05

DS, 14 months.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Looked good, good fit and strong, stretchy tabs. Bright, colourful animals.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Only tried during the day, I found that after about 3 hrs in them they started to get damp on the outside. I daren't try them at night as I fear he would wake up completely soaked!
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, I didn't find them as absorbant as our usual brand (Kiddicare Just 4 Bums) and they are much more expensive.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
For fit, yes, for dryness no.

I was excited to be chosen to test the nappies, as I've always heard such good things about Pampers, so I was really disappointed that they didn't perform as well as the Kiddicare brand we usually use.

zippyrainbowbrite · 16/10/2014 21:06

Oops, forgot to say we tested size 4!

PseudoBadger · 16/10/2014 21:09

DD is 12 months and we tried size 4.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

Soft, thin, very nice to use and easy to put on.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

We had no leaks and they stayed in place very well.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Possibly, but only if they were on a very good offer. Aldi Mamia, whilst thicker and not as 'pretty' perform just as well at a fraction of the price.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes I'd say i'd tried them and found them nice to use.

ohlittlepea · 16/10/2014 21:26

7 month old baby size 4 nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I like how well they fit and how they are slim, light and not bulky. I like the flexibility of the shape and the colours and designs. They do have a distinctive smell which is a little off putting. They were consistently dry, and didnt get bulky with wee.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Really well.Very dry over night Only 1 poo leak which was a very watery poo! the fit was very comfortable for my baby who could easily move around with them on. I did find she had slightly more nappy rash with these than with our usual baby dry.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes if reduced or on special offer. Full price they are a bit pricey for us.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes
bugsyburge · 16/10/2014 21:57

I always thought of Pampers as the "go to" nappy before I had a child. I tried out the size 3 nappies on DD aged 8 months & I really do not find them very good.

They are ok during the day because they are lightweight & easier for her to move in than some other brands. She is also changed more frequently during the day so absorbency wasn't an issue.

However they are absolutely dreadful at night. 3 nights in a row I had to change her after around 5/6 hours because her sleepsuit & bag were sodden, poor thing.

I unfortunately wouldn't recommend Pampers to others

redoctober · 16/10/2014 22:04

I tested the Pampers active fit on my 17 mo and we tried size 5.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I was impressed with how thin, flexible and soft they were. They had a nice design on them and the tabs gripped well and the nappies looked comfortable on my son. There was no bulging or drooping which I find with other nappies.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

They performed really well and actually lasted longer than other nappies that I have used. There was no leakages throughout the day and my son woke up dry too.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I will us Pampers active fit again. I felt they performed better than other nappies that I have used in the past and they were a better, more comfortable fit.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes definitely.

Gavlarrr · 16/10/2014 22:12

The active fit nappies are great during the day and seem to be a lot more comfortable for DD. The tabs stay out and the nappy seems to stay in good shape. Nightime we have had some leakage and I still just use normal pampers for this time. I also miss the yellow strip that turns green when wet!
Would buy again and use in daytime

ColdCottage · 16/10/2014 22:18

My son is 5 1/2 months old in size 3 nappies

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
My first thought was how thin they were. The slimiest nappies I've ever seen. I was using Aldi nappies but am currently using standard pampers.
I liked the lightness of the pattern as well as reduced the chance of them showing under clothes.
I found they kept my bouncing little boy nice and dry as well as not cramping his style under his clothes.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
He loves to be held standing and to run on the floor being held as well as in the air which was no problem. He is a big wetter over night and they coped fine so I was pleased.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
If they were on offer or if I had a larger shopping budget then yes.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, I have already told my NCT group and mentioned them at the local children's centre.

I have a few friends expecting who I will tell them about and a Uni friend who I need to them about as her little boy is a wiggler.

JaquelineHyde · 17/10/2014 00:11

We tested the nappies on DC4 who is 17 months and in size 5+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Very thin and light which is great and as usual with Pampers nappies the designs were pretty and DC4 was happy chatting to the pictures on the nappies whilst I changed him Smile

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Fabulous! I was very sceptical about the claim that they were the driest nappy as we currently usually use Pampers dry night nappies and have never had a problem. However, the difference in these nappies was noticeable immediately, when I changed DC4 I placed my hand on the core of the nappy and it felt considerably drier than other nappies. The fit was also great and DC4 had no problems with them. The experiences during the day and night were both positive.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I will buy them again because of everything I said in the last question.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes absolutely.

Emrob86 · 17/10/2014 08:42

My baby girl is now 9 months and size 4,

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Very thin, flexible and quite soft!
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Most of the time quite well but have had a couple of poo leaks. I think my usual brand Mamia keeps by baby dry for longer.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Only on promotion. The fit is great but my usual Mamia perform better.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
I'd recommend them for their fit but not absorbency.
hannahjns93 · 17/10/2014 09:08

Daisy is 15 months and used size 4 pampers

What was your overall impression of pampers active fit?

The nappie itself was really thin and soft and daisy seemes more comfortable in them. Sticky tabs were great didnt come undone all night. However I did find that they weren't as absorbent as other brands.

How did pampers active fit preform through the day and night?

Daisy didnt leak at all while using pampers active fit but I did find myself needing to change her more often then normal.

What you use them again?

I wouldnt use pampers active fit again as I dont feel the price matches the quality of nappy and I do prefer other brands which happen to be cheaper.

Would you recommend pampers active fit to a friend?

I would recommend these if a friend was looking for a well made, soft and comfortable nappy but if price and how absorbent they are was more important then I wouldn't recommend these.

pgaleota · 17/10/2014 09:43
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Not positive
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Not at all great! Pampers Baby Dry are so much better - My 9month old son has NEVER suffered from nappy rash, he is now that I am testing Pampers Active Fit.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
NO!! Please see the above answer.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
NO!!
rachaelsit · 17/10/2014 10:08
  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
I liked them, the packs are small which makes carrying shopping and storing them easier! They are nice and thin and for snuggly.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
They performed relatively well through both. I found they were clammy in the morning though. They left some redness around legs. Nothing. Other don't sometimes. Also, they were enormous after he has wet in them a few times!
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes if they were on offer. No because of price and there are similar on the market that are cheaper.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Not especially, no I didn't think they were anything special. Maybe in a bigger size than 3+ which I tested, when the child is moving around more you might see greater benefits to them. I find the pamper baby dry just as good if not better for over night.

Thanks for the chance to trial them.

Sarahseabury · 17/10/2014 10:20

My daughter is 10 months old (41 weeks) and we tested size 4 nappies

Bold: What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I was really impressed with the nappies. I like the design and feel of them. I found them easy to put on even with a wiggling baby. They felt secure and had a good fit.

Bold: How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

My daughter is crawling and exploring all over at the moment and trying to walk so I was looking forward to seeing how the active fit nappies performed. I was really impressed with their performance she was happy and comfortable all day and I took the opportunity to check the dryness of the nappy when I changed her and though I could see she had filled her nappy it was in fact dry.

My daughter sometimes suffers from trapped wind in the night and as a result wriggles all over her cot. We have use Pampers baby dry over night in the past as other nappies have leaked and we have found those to be the best nappies for over night. I was really happy with the performance of the active fit nappies and she stayed happy and dry throughout the night. I would be happy to use either Pampers baby dry or active fit overnight in the future.

Bold: Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would definitely use these nappies again particularly during the day with such an active baby.

I do try to buy nappies on promotion and this would be a consideration in the future but I would select these nappies over others if the price wasn't much more.

Bold: If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

I would definitely recommend these nappies to other parents I am very happy and impressed with their performance. I would suggest buying them on offer though as I'm aware how expensive nappies can be.

ChopperHopper · 17/10/2014 10:52

DS is 9 months and now a size 4. I originally applied for size 3+ as we waited for some time for the nappies to arrive and he has done a lot of growing recently! The size 3+ did fit him ok, maybe slightly snug, but ok.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?

I found them very thin and soft. They seemed quite strong too- none of the tabs broke, for example, until this morning on the final one i managed to put my fingers through the elasticated cuff just when I was opening it up. Overall I found them good and certainly stayed dry overnight. They do seem to puff up quite a bit when on though. Like other people I also noticed a bit of a chemical smell with them.

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?

Very well it has to be said. No leaks.

  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would but I find them expensive. I really get on well with the Aldi Mamia nappies too and cost is a big factor for me as well, unfortunately.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?

Yes I would.

odi1 · 17/10/2014 13:41

The nappies were size 4 for my DD age 6 months

at was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
They were slimmer than my Norma brand and a good fit but a strong smell and were not as absorbant as my normal nappy

  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
I had a few leaks especially at night and I don't t think my baby is a particularly heavy wetter
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not despite the good fit they did not perform as well as my normal nappy and the smell was really strong
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
For fit yes but I find that other nappies are better for dryness
chellem1 · 17/10/2014 13:48

DD is 20 months and size 5.

- What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Good fit on the waist, the legs bits had a tendency to bunch and there's a strong marzipan smell from the nappies! Designs are nice and unisex.

- How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Not great I'm afraid, we've had several leakages (both day and night) and my DD managed to get her hand down the back of her pooey nappy as well. That was not a highlight.

- Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not, I'm afraid - see the reasons above! Leakages haven't been great, and I thought the fit would be better around the legs for an active baby of 20 months old. I'll be sticking with Pampers Baby Dry.

- If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
No, afraid not. I'd recommend Pampers Baby Dry, which is what we usually use, but not these.

QueenOfThorns · 17/10/2014 13:59

DD aged 9 months, size 3+

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Good overall. My dinky DD is right in the middle of the weight bracket for this size (7.5kg) and they fit perfectly. The tabs were good for the hundred adjustments needed to get them on right - she's at a very squirmy stage! The only thing is the smell mentioned by other reviewers. It's not overpowering, but is stronger than I remember from using these nappies before.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
I use BabyDry at night, so can't comment on that. They've been fine during the day, no leaks at all. I have been fooled into changing them when it wasn't necessary, however. They seem to bulk up a lot at the front as if they're full of wee, but when you take them off, there's no weight to them.

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would. The only issue is the price - they don't seem much better than e.g. Aldi own brand, but far more expensive. I will buy in bulk if I see them on special offer, though.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes, absolutely.

wm3010 · 17/10/2014 14:01

DD is 5 months and we tried size 3.

Overall impression-
These are lovely fitting and soft with cute designs. However they do smell funny.

Performance-
Generally fine, contained a couple of impressive breastfed baby poos. They did seem to swell up with wee very quickly though so dd had a big lump of nappy between her legs after only a short time and I ended up changing more often because of that.

Would I use again?
Yes, but price would put me off.

Would I recommend?
Yes if slim fit is required but I would also mention that they are very pricey.

Micropigatadisco · 17/10/2014 14:08

Tested size 3 on DS aged 6 months, usually use pampers new baby in a size 3 or Aldi nappies.

What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Very slim fitting, slight smell that others have mentioned, but not so overpowering that you can tell from the other side of the room or anything like that.

How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Have not encountered any leaks, even managed to contain a poo-nami which occurred in the car park of a very busy Ikea store!

Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would use again, if seen on a good offer somewhere, as others have pointed out they are quite expensive compared with pampers new baby and baby dry.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
Yes for both although I probably wouldn't start a conversation to discuss what I wrap my baby's bottom in!

ALittleFaith · 17/10/2014 14:09

DD is 18 months and we used size 4+.

  • What was your overall impression of Pampers Active Fit?
Much thinner than most nappies. Also noticed the odd smell. They fit pretty well.
  • How did Pampers Active Fit perform through the day and at night time?
Generally ok but we did have one terrible leak after she'd been wearing it for only a couple of hours, required full outfit change which I haven't had with my usual brand.
  • Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?

The price would probably put me off! I don't think they're radically different or better than my usual brand so I wouldn't pay more for them.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Active Fit to other parents for dryness and fit?
For fit, yes. For dryness, not particularly.
loudarts · 17/10/2014 14:14

I have not received my pack of nappies so cannot say if they are any good Sad

cathpj1 · 17/10/2014 15:11

DS 4 months old and we tried size 3.

Overall impression - impressed with design and fit. Slight odour noted but didn't seem to affect baby's skin.

Performance - no leaks noted during day or night. However did have to change baby more frequently on some days when wearing them.

Would I use again? - yes but would probably buy in bulk on Amazon as quite expensive to buy smaller packs.

Recommend?- yes would recommend to friends if questioned.
