This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnetters who are testing out the Weight Watchers programme.

Weight Watchers say: “With 50 years of success behind us we understand how to make losing weight simple, delicious and fun; but we also understand how challenging it can be when you’re facing it alone. Join us to lose weight, feel fantastic and achieve great things. You can follow our healthy eating plan completely online with support from our unique community, or benefit from attending our lively meetings, for personal coaching and weight loss guidance.”

Testers: we'll be asking you to add feedback once a week - we'd like your first impressions now and every week after that, we'll be posting some new questions for you to answer.

So, in terms of your first impressions...

~ Will you be going to meetings, following the plan online or a bit of both?
~ Why did you sign up to test out the Weight Watchers plan?
~ What sorts of foods do you think you'll be eating following the plan? Will it be a big change for you?

Everyone who adds their feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will receive a £100 Asda voucher, good luck!

Please note: your anonymous comments may be used by Weight Watchers on their website and other marketing materials.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Well I've weighed in this morning after 6 days of pp and no sugar.
I'm now 6lbs lighter.
Most importantly I am feeling much better.
My chronic headaches have gone and I'm not knackered by 8 pm.

My food this week has been lots of veg. Some fruit. Beans and pulses plus meat. No pasta, rice or white carbs.
I have cooked more interesting meals.
I haven't touched biscuits, cakes, chocolate or sugar.
I'm really pleased.

lunar1 · 06/10/2014 08:20

Well done ihatethecold!!

iwantgin · 06/10/2014 10:43

Brilliant! Ihatethecold !!

That's a really good result.

My weigh-in this eve. I am worried that i haven't lost much if any

I shouldn't have bought the scales yesterday...

Teladi · 06/10/2014 10:59

That's a wonderful result ihatethecold! Virtual high five (are we allowed those on MN? Grin)

Good luck with your weigh-in, iwantgin. I'm dreading mine on Wednesday. I was following SS earlier in the week but looking back have eaten under or to the equivalent ProPoints total every day so I really hope I have lost something. I think I'll be quite discouraged if I haven't. Last time I lost 1-2lb per week on WW.

ihatethecold · 06/10/2014 11:19

Thanks.

Sixgeese · 06/10/2014 11:37

Well done ihatethecold

My weigh in is tomorrow morning and I really hope I have lost something after following SS for a week, I don't have an scales at home so I have no idea how I am doing.

LottieAndTheDinosaur · 06/10/2014 14:00

Well done ihatethat's a great weight loss!

My monthly pass arrived today so I can now go to a meeting but because of DP's work shift I can't make it till next Tuesday Sad

I've skipped the simple start bit and just gone straight to PP, I'm finding it quite frustrating though that I can't just see how many points something is at a glance like you can calorie counting.

ihatethecold · 06/10/2014 14:11

I do think there is an element of guesswork with the PP.

ShyPhilosopher · 06/10/2014 19:55

After a week on filling & healthy, I've lost 6lbs. I've now been switched to a combination of filling & healthy, with an additional 49 pro points a week to "spend" on anything not on the filling & healthy list. Should be interesting.

iwantgin · 06/10/2014 20:12

Back from my weigh-in. This first week I have lost

6.5 lbs!!

Well done to you shy - I am on the same programme for next week. I think it'll be good - as I wasn't using my treats every day anyway - so at least this way I can have more than one small glass of wine at a time. :)

Sixgeese · 06/10/2014 20:32

All these big losses are getting me a bit worried I won't do as well tomorrow.

Well done everyone, you have all done really great.

iwantgin · 06/10/2014 20:43

I didn't think i had lost much sixgeese.

I put my great loss this week down to the fact that my first weigh was the same day I returned from a boozy/eating weekend and was at 'maximum heft'.

Don't worry - any loss is good. You may surprise yourself :)

iwantgin · 06/10/2014 20:44

I like how individual weight losses aren't announced in the meeting.

Our leader just mentioned that we had had a good week - there were plenty of glass nuggets in the jar! And said that the 'new ladies' had lost x, y and z lbs. but with out naming names.

I like that.

Teladi · 06/10/2014 20:48

That's really good that they don't announce weight loss in the meeting. Someone at my work is starting WW this week and she was worried enough about someone else weighing her at a meeting so it will be good to tell her that it doesn't get announced!

I think I might try and get her to buy me some of the food that you only get at meetings, since I can't make it to one! Any recommendations from anyone who has tried any of the stuff they sell at meetings?

ihatethecold · 06/10/2014 20:51

Me to gin
I nearly had a heart attack when I got on the scales after being in Valencia all weekend drinking sangria and eating chocolate covered almonds by the bucketload.

iwantgin · 06/10/2014 20:54

ha ha ihatethecold - it does prove the point - that all that 'nice' stuff takes its toll :)

teladi I bought some of the choc bars - they are quite expensive- and i could probably buy a pack of mini milky ways or something, but will use them for treats this week. Also the sweeties are lovely. currently scoffing a pack of the liqorice soft drops. Chewy...

Sixgeese · 06/10/2014 21:20

I would second the chocolate bars, they are currently on offer 3 boxes (of 6) for £5. They are the only things that have got me through the SS week. I have also tried the instant porridge, and to be honest, I won't be buying again and will just make "proper" porridge with oats and water.

I am going to try the piri piri chicken seasoning for tea tomorrow, so will let you know.

Be back tomorrow lunchtime and let you all know how the weigh in went.

dobedobedo · 07/10/2014 02:36

Well done on your weight losses!
My second weigh in is tomorrow. I'm hoping for a loss, but it feels like I'm eating too much doing pp. I haven't even touched my 49 treat points for the week.

dobedobedo · 07/10/2014 06:53

I've lost 4lbs!! Shock Grin

That's half a stone in two weeks. Not bad weight watchers, not bad.

ihatethecold · 07/10/2014 07:05

Well done on your weight losses. Smile

iwantgin · 07/10/2014 09:12

Nice one dobedobedo!!!

Has anyone actually done any meal planning? I feel like I should- to firm it all up in my head - instead of spending all the day wondering what I could prep for dinner/lunch..

Sixgeese · 07/10/2014 10:01

I only lost 1.5, to be honest I am a bit disappointed but as the group leader said, I joined WW without a break from SW so I was never going to get a big first week loss.

Got to focus that my total weight loss is almost 6 stone.

iseedeadpeople · 07/10/2014 11:17

Yes - if you were already following a diet plan anyway then you aren't starting from full fatness (like me!!! )

But still - 1.5lbs is a good start. Keep at it - make use of the free 3 months!!!

Ledkr · 07/10/2014 11:21

I've lost another 2lb. All together I've lost around ten pounds since September but like others this was after a very long and indulgent summer holiday so a bit false but in very chuffed and feel good

ShyPhilosopher · 07/10/2014 11:44

I found out that one of the local Pound Land's (Leeds) have quite a few Weight Watchers items. Bought some biscuits, for when I finally start craving sweet stuff. They also had salad dressings, yogurts, bakewell slices & I can't remember what else otherwise than 2 tins of soup for £1. Worth a look if you're near a Pound Land.
