Weight Watchers Feedback Thread NOW CLOSED

AngelieMumsnet · 29/09/2014 14:53

This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnetters who are testing out the Weight Watchers programme.

Weight Watchers say: “With 50 years of success behind us we understand how to make losing weight simple, delicious and fun; but we also understand how challenging it can be when you’re facing it alone. Join us to lose weight, feel fantastic and achieve great things. You can follow our healthy eating plan completely online with support from our unique community, or benefit from attending our lively meetings, for personal coaching and weight loss guidance.”

Testers: we'll be asking you to add feedback once a week - we'd like your first impressions now and every week after that, we'll be posting some new questions for you to answer.

So, in terms of your first impressions...

~ Will you be going to meetings, following the plan online or a bit of both?
~ Why did you sign up to test out the Weight Watchers plan?
~ What sorts of foods do you think you'll be eating following the plan? Will it be a big change for you?

Everyone who adds their feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will receive a £100 Asda voucher, good luck!

Please note: your anonymous comments may be used by Weight Watchers on their website and other marketing materials.

Thanks,
MNHQ

I will keep an eye on mine and let you know if there are any changes, goodness only know why I had an expiry of Feb from the test when everyone else seemed to have a January date.

If (and it's a big if) I lose 2.5 -3 pounds a week until my pass expires I will get to goal before it expires, but I think that is extremely unlikely.

It is good to know that it looks like we have to give them 2 weeks, before the date on the pass, to cancel, but I predict that we will have a few of the other testers on the thread in the next couple of days complaining. I thought the original idea was that we were going to be contacted to find out who wanted to continue and who wanted to cancel, but I might have got the wrong end of the stick.

Hi everyone, we're really sorry about this issue. Yesterday Weight Watchers confirmed that everyone who was charged should have been refunded, and we're continuing to work on this to ensure that it is resolved properly.

How did you get on today iwant?

I am not looking forward to tomorrow, while I have stuck to the diet and still have 30 weeklies left, I think it is the week that I usually gain. I hate my monthly increase, but look forward to the corresponding larger loss in a couple of weeks.

iwantgin · 12/01/2015 22:19

Ah, i forgot to post - had a busy day. Thanks for asking *sixgeese

I lost 1 lb this week. A bit disappointing really as have been mostly sticking to plan. However clearly not strictly enough. Plus a Caribbean takeaway was impossible to Point up - I could feel it sticking to my hips as I ate it!

I did do Filling and Healthy last week, which doesn't seem to work as well for me - so am counting Propoints this week.

Good luck for you tomorrow. You may have done better than you think.

Sixgeese · 13/01/2015 10:09

I had my expected gain, 2.5 lbs, ouch!

I have been good, weighed and tracked everything so there wasn't anything I could do about it.

It is just so frustrating knowing that I always have a gain every month that I can't do anything to prevent.

Oh well, got to put it to the back of my mind and continue tracking, weighing and counting everything and I should get a good loss in a couple of weeks.

AngelieMumsnet · 13/01/2015 17:40

Hi everyone, just to let you know, all of the refunds have been processed, and the affected testers should have their accounts refunded today. Weight Watchers are also refunding any bank charges incurred, and we have been in touch with all the affected testers accordingly to organise this.

I never thought I'd lose much weight through this Weight Watchers trial. I've continued my Weight Watchers membership & have now lost just over 3 stone. I've made some wonderful friends and am now a meeting clerk.

Sixgeese · 14/02/2015 22:49

I have lost over 2 stone, still got about 3/4 stone to go before I get to goal and my leader is encouraging me to think about applying for training to become a leader.

I have continued my membership too (though I still have a week left on my free membership), I have just paid my first monthly fee and hopefully it won't take me too many more months to get to goal.

Sixgeese · 07/04/2015 16:29

Just in case anyone still looks, I got to goal weight today, I have lost over three stone at weight watchers and over 8.5 stones altogether.

I am so happy that I was picked for this product test as I never really thought it would work, but it has and it has been really life changing.

I have even been offered a place on a training course to become a Leader, but unfortunately it doesn't fit in around my family at the moment (DH works 2 jobs - well Teacher proper job, Football Steward at the Emirates, enjoyable job, and I don't have any evenings or weekend that I can guarantee I would be always free)

iwantgin · 07/04/2015 18:04

Well done six that is brilliant!

I hope you have treated yourself to something nice as a reward.

Sixgeese · 08/04/2015 13:53

Thanks iwantgin, DH is away at the moment on a school trip to Paris and Eurodisney (leaving me at home with our three for the week) so I have sent him a text and told him he is taking me out for a meal when he gets home.

How are you getting on?

iwantgin · 08/04/2015 21:41

Well I don't go to class now the free trial is finished.

I have let it slide a little as was training for a Half marathon, and needed food - but don't seem to have gained any weight.

Plan to do Simple Start for a couple of weeks - prior to our next trip away - so knowing the 'rules' of WW is a good tool to have I suppose. :)

Sixgeese · 09/04/2015 19:43

I was very lucky that for some reason my trial ended in February, so I only ended up having to pay for 6 weeks. I have now reduced the membership to esource only, I use the app all the time to work out points for both food and activities.

ShyPhilosopher · 31/05/2015 18:21

Well done on getting to goal Six - I hope you're really proud!

I have stuck with Weight Watchers & so far have lost 4 stone 2 lbs, which leaves me just 5 pounds away from reaching my goal weight. Also, I have my final assessment to become a Weight Watchers Leader this Wednesday! So this time next month I will have my own meetings Smile

I still can't believe how I have gone from being obese and out of work to being a healthy weight & in paid employment. None of that would have been possible without this free trial happening. It really has changed my life for the better & I will forever be grateful to Mumsnet & Weight Watchers for such an amazing opportunity! Star

Sixgeese · 01/06/2015 00:19

Shy that's really great I hope you get to goal soon.

I had an interview too, got through it but didn't go on to do the training as the Groups that they were recruiting for in my area wouldn't fit in around DH's jobs so the child care cost made it uneconomic.

It has definitely been one of the more life changing product tests that I have done, my weight loss was over 2 1/2 stone at WW, over 8 1/2 stones in total.

ShyPhilosopher · 19/06/2015 12:52

Thanks Six. Such a shame it didn't fit into your schedule, as it is an amazingly rewarding job. I had my interview in April, then started training within 2 weeks. My Final Assessment was when I qualified, so I am now a Weight Watchers Leader myself. I have my own meeting already. Not only that, but on the day I did the handover meeting with the previous leader - I also reached my goal weight! Such perfect timing, to be a Gold Member as well as a leader.
