Never heard of LowLow before.

Therefore never heard of the Snack Pack.

Haven't bought a pack as still trying to find the packs in any shops I have been too - Tesco, Boots or Saimsburys. I have been looking in amongst sandwiches and also the cheese aisle by the cheese Dunkers etc. Am
I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks

  1. had heard of low low, buy the cheese spread. It's a brand I like and think does healthy products
  2. hadn't seen snack packs before
  3. chose caramelised onion one, eaten as a post dinner snack
  4. replaced another snack of a couple of chocolate biscuits
  5. yes the cheese with semi skimmed milk was nice, love cheese biut usually too high fat to contemplate eating much of
  6. 1.50 is a little steep, if they were on offer bogof or 2 for x I would.
  7. yes I'd be more inclined to try other products from this brand as pleasantly surprised.

Yay finally got them! Visited 3 - admittedly small - supermarkets without joy so ended up adding them to my Ocado shop. Luckily I really liked them!

Yes I was aware of the low low brand as I have frequently bought the blocks of cheese.
No I wasn't aware of the low low snack packs.
I bought the sweet tomato relish pack.
I ate it at home yesterday as a snack while having a break from doing my decorating.
It was so I was having something quick and easy as I was full of paint!
I was quite satisfied by it but would of liked to have the choice of a snack for 1 or 2 people as my partner was peckish but I didn't share with him as I didn't think there was enough for sharing!
I don't really mind if the cheese is made with full fat or semi skimmed it was still delicious.
Yes I would recommend it to a friend.
I would probably so buy this snack again as I enjoyed it but would also like to see bigger packs with more in made for sharing.
It hasn't changed my mind I'm already a fan of low low cheese!

  • Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?
No I hadn't heard of them.
  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?
No.
  • Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)
We tried the Sweet Tomato Relish and the Caramelised Onion Chutney flavours.
  • When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?
At home, as a mid afternoon snack as we'd had a small lunch.
  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what
Not really, perhaps instead of a piece of fruit.
  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?
I enjoyed the caramelised onion pack, but not the tomato relish at all and the other half liked the tomato relish one and not the onion chutney, our little boy liked the cheese and crackers in both packs only.
  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?
I find it appealing for the adults in the household but not so much for our one year old, he's in the slight side so always go for full fat when it comes to him.
  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?
Yes, would be a handy snack for an adult or perhaps a primary school aged child, nice after school snack.
  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?
No I probably wouldn't at that price, would do if it was on offer or reduced however.
  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?

Many Thanks :-) xx

  • Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?
I was aware of the LowLow brand but had only seen the actual blocks of cheese. I had seen it on tv adverts and pop-ups on the internet
  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?
Not at all, I was not aware they were being sold
  • Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)
I bought the Red Pepper and Onion Chutney variety
  • When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?
I was on the move, on the way home from Supermarket shopping (the boyfriend was driving!) and I felt a bit peckish! It was around 11am
  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what
I would usually have either a piece of fruit or a yogurt at home but as I was on the move I fancied a bit of a change and a little treat!
  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?
I was very satisfied! It was filling enough to tide me over until my next meal and very moreish!
  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?
I find it Very appealing! We only drink semi-skimmed milk in the house and some cheeses seem very rich, the combination of using this type of milk was a great balance
  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?
Most definitely! I'd recommend it to other busy mums on the go and also anyone who works in an office workplace! They'd be perfect for take-in snacks for your break!
  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?
Yes as an occasional treat, maybe one per week as it is still quite costly for one serving in comparison to fruit and other things
  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?
It has definitely improved the way I think about the brand, they make delicious products and ones that I will be keeping an eye on for new products in the future!
Roseformeplease · 20/10/2014 18:36

I had never heard of the brand before as a snack pot but have enjoyed the cheese before which I love for its strong taste.

I had the onion chutney one which was the only one I could find locally.

I woolfed it down in the car, furtively as it was delicious and I didn't want to share. The children have since insisted they try one too so it is costing me money, their new snack addiction!

I thought it was delicious and would definitely recommend them. It was satisfying but I am a greedy pig so might want 2. I will definitely buy them again, probably in the other flavours too for ringing the changes.

I really enjoyed them. Thanks for picking me.

  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what
It was actually in place of dinner as I'd had a late lunch. If I'd not eaten the Snack Pack, I would've made a sandwich or a small salad.
  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?
It was ok. I found the chutney a bit too sweet, and the multigrain toast was very crunchy. The cheese was the best part!
  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?
Appealing- it tasted ok, and less fat for the same taste is a good thing in my book!
  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 22/10/2014 10:36

Haven't tried it yet as I still have not found it. Admittedly, I haven't run willy nilly from store to store, but let's be fair, I shouldn't have to. I've checked a few major supermarkets and no joy. I don't have the cash to keep driving around looking and now dc is ill, I can't drag him out to the shop anyway. A bit disappointing, really.

If sending out a voucher for the product, it's helpful to advise right off the bat which stores are carrying it tbh.

Coffeechick · 22/10/2014 13:02

-I wasn't aware of the brand before. Low low seems to indicate lower calories to me.

-I wasn't aware of the snack pack before this product and I actually wasn't sure where to find it. My local smaller supermarkets or even the slightly bigger ones didn't stock it and I actually only found it in the large supermarket which sells lots of non food items as well as food.

-I bought the sweet tomato relish flavour and I enjoyed it.

-I ate it as a snack whilst out with my son carrying out weekly errands as it was nearly lunchtime and I wasn't going to be home soon.

-I ate it to fill in a gap before lunch if I hadn't eaten this I might have had a brioche or fruit or some crackers.

-I enjoyed it I preferred the relish and the cheese to the toast which was a bit too crunchy but overall very satisfying and enjoyable.

-Appealing , less calories are good and I don't notice a difference in taste.

-I would recommend it to a friend

-I might buy it but probably more likely if it was on offer.

There is one more place I haven't checked for this bloomin' snack, but I can't get to it for a few days! Hoping the test stays open for a few days more! :)

Where has everyone else gotten theirs? As in, if it was a Sainsbury's, was it a Sainsbury's local or a superstore?

Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?

No, I had never heard of the brand before I was selected to do the test. I imagined it to be a low fat cheese-based snack.

Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?

No.

Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)

I haven't been able to find one in my local Morrison's but was a bit distracted when shopping so will check again next week.

When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?

I haven't yet...

Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what

Yes, I normally have a snack during the morning when I'm at work (usually something from my Graze snack box) If they are easily transported/stored they could be a viable alternative, although they are too expensive to have every day, so I can't see LowLow Snack Packs replacing this snack completely.

How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?

As I can't even find one on the shelves to try I am pretty disappointed so far...

How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?

As long as the flavour is good, the low fat aspect doesn't appeal or not appeal, as taste is the most important factor to me when choosing a cheese!

Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?

Yes, if I can find one to test and I liked it.

Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?

Not on a regular basis, as I think it's a bit steep for a daily snack. I'd be more likely to buy them as a one off if I was shopping and needed a quick snack.

If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?

Not applicable.

Thank you for giving me the chance to test this product!

Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?
I wasn't aware of it- and I find the name a bit off-putting - but can't really put my finger on why.

  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?
No.
  • Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney) I bought caramelised onion chutney.
  • When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?
I bought it in Tesco and ate it at work as an afternoon snack.
  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what
A biscuit... or two...
  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?
I enjoyed it- it tasted nice and was way better than the usual biscuit.
  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?
It doesn't really bother me either way.
  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?
Yes, although only if it was a bit cheaper...
  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?
No, I think £1 would be a fairer price - I'd prefer to buy multipacks at a cheaper price I think.
  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?
Wasn't aware.

Thanks again for letting me test this. I enjoyed it and would buy it again if it were a bit cheaper!

Tester

Well, I feel a right tit! Here I've been looking around shop after shop, despairing at the elusive LowLow Snack Pack. I eventually caved and just bought them myself with my weekly food shop I have delivered from Asda. It arrived this morning and I realised I have probably been unsuccessful in locating this product by looking in the wrong bloomin' aisles! I thought they would be in the snacks aisle. But it looks like they belong in a chilled aisle?

ANYWAY. I've tried some now! I tried the cream cheese with the cranberry relish. (See picture below!)

  • I wasn't aware of the LowLow brand before this product test. I am not a dieter, nor do I consciously buy low fat stuff. I'm not even much of a healthy snack eater, either! Although, I have started buying lighter butter and cheese.
  • I tried the snack pack in the morning after it had arrived from Asda. I hadn't eaten yet and had another errand to run so was feeling a wee bit peckish! Normally, I wait until about midday and have a sort of breakfast lunch. That's not brunch! lol I usually have toast, a yoghurt, cheese and fruit about mid morning. Then I'll have a cup of tea and a snack later on in the afternoon when my son is napping!
  • I was quite satisfied with the LowLow Snack Pack. I wasn't sure if I liked it, but wanted to eat more after. The toast was nice on it's own. It's not something I'm used to eating. I think if it became a regular snack option, I would grow to really enjoy them!
  • I mean, I like cheese and I like semi skimmed milk. The idea of cheese being made from semi skilled milk didn't really bother me too much! It still tastes good!
  • I would probably recommend the Snack Pack to a friend, yes. As something new to try. I'm not sure if it is something I would eat on the go or at work as you definitely need both hands for it!
  • I would buy the Snack Pack for £1.50. For what it is, it is very good value for money! I'd like to see it in more shops, though. If I'm going to have a snack on the go, it's got to be something I can easily get. Not something to be delivered on a weekly basis with the food shopping!

Thank you LowLow and MN for the opportunity to try something new!

Just tried my snack pack today. Bought at Sainsburys (couldn't see it in my local Tescos). They had two flavours and I chose the caramelised onion version. I picked it up for my lunch and was a little worried that it wouldn't be filling enough and looking inside the pack I also thought it looked a bit small but actually it was satisfying enough. I had to search out these a bit in the shop not having bought anything like this before I wasn't sure where to look for it. If I was to buy again then having it in with the sandwiches in future may be a good idea.

Tester. It took me a while to track this item down, it was on offer in Morrisons and out of stock every time I went in, eventually found it in a bigger Sainsburys store.
a) No I wasn't aware of the LowLow brand before this product test, I don't usually consider lower fat cheese as I always think they must be lacking in taste.

b) No, never heard of it or noticed it in the shops.
c) I tested the Caramelised Onion Chutney pack.
d) I ate it after the school run, around 3pm to avoid tucking into the cake the children had!
e) I don't always eat at that time, but I was feeling peckish and dinner would be late, around 8pm.
f) The chutney was very tasty and plent of it, the toasts were rather hard and quite tasteless really. The cheese was ok, not much flavour, but not too bad considering it was a healthy option, the chutney was definitely needed though to bring it all together and give it some taste.
g) I'm not really bothered how the cheese is made as long as it tastes good.
h) Mmm I'm not sure on this one, possibly as a healthy alternative on the go, easy to carry in handbag or baby changing bag, instead of crisps, biscuits etc
I) I think £1.50 is a bit high, at £1 I would be far more likely to buy one.
j) Not previously aware of the brand but will certainly look out for it in the future.
