The only one I could find (after second attempt!) was caramelised onion.

Home and Saturday evening.

  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what

Toast? It was tempting me though to try it.

I really liked it. The taste was good!

It seems fine to me. I don't have any strong feelings either way in all honesty.

  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?

Yes!

  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?

Yes. It was £1.50 when I purchased it.

  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?

No, the product fitted with how I previously saw the brand. A great addition to the range and I will be buying again. The lady who served me at the supermarket was also a big fan and buys one every evening!

lankyesme · 04/10/2014 19:36

Pistachiotruffle · 04/10/2014 20:06

Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?

Yes, I know my mother in law buys the LowLow cheese regularly, but I hadn't personally tried it.

LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)

Red pepper and onion chutney

When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?

At work, at lunchtime.

Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what

I ate in in place of a sandwich for lunch, along with some fruit and a biscuit.

How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?

I really enjoyed it, but it wasn't as filling as my usual sandwich or wrap. I'm always looking for easy snacks though, and as I feel it's more balanced than a packet of crisps I would probably eat it as a snack in future.

How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?

I was initially concerned the cheese would have an odd taste, but as it just tasted like a mild cheddar I'd find it appealing as a healthier option.

Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?

Yes, I think I would.

Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?

It was priced at £1.75 in my local store, which I think is too expensive. I'd happily pay about £1-1.20 for it though, or a multipack at a reduced cost would be handy.

If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?

I was pleasantly surprised, and if on offer or at a reasonable price I'd purchase again. I think I'd be willing to try other LowLow products now, which I wouldn't have considered before.

Just a suggestion - I didn't notice anything on the front of the packaging about the little spoon included, and I didn't actually notice it inside until I'd started eating. Perhaps adding this information would be helpful to others looking for something suitable to eat on the go?

Thanks!

Not really - it was ok but not amazing

Wasn't previously aware

  • Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?

I don't think I was, actually. If I saw it before then I probably dismissed it as low-fat and therefore, gross cheese.

  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?

No, again it's something I probably looked over.

  • Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)

The Red Pepper one. It was the only variety they had in my local grocer's.

  • When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?

Walking home from school with the kids. We all had a bit.

  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what

Yes, normally I bring them a piece of fruit or rice cakes.

  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?

It was pretty good, but v v small. We all had one cracker each.

  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?

Unappealing, as I've tried it many moons ago and found it rubbery and tasteless. However, the cheese in this was pretty good, especially with the other flavours.

  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?

Erm, possible, if the topic of snack packs came up in conversation.

  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?

I don't know...there's not much to it, overall. I think I'd rather buy cheese strings or babybels for that price.

  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?

I wasn't really aware of the brand, but the cheese isn't bad.

DifferentNow · 05/10/2014 10:43
  • Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?

I wasn't aware of the brand.

  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?

No

  • Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)

Caramelised Onion Chutney

  • When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?

At home as a supper snack with a cup of tea.

  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what

It was in place of a chocolate biscuit.

  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?

As a light snack I found it to be reasonably satisfying. The biscuits were adequate at best, the cheese was quite nice. The Chutney was definitely the highlight but as a package I wasn't bowled over.

  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?

That didn't bother me at all I would always base my opinion on what it tasted like.

  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?

I wouldn't go that far. The chutney was very nice but I would be more inclined to buy chutney and combine it with better cheese and biscuits.

  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?

Definitely not. Ridiculously overpriced for what you get. I appreciate that you are paying for convenience but it's just not anything like value for money.

  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?

I wasn't aware of the brand before.

maddiemostmerry · 05/10/2014 12:08

Tesco would not accept voucher as the price on shelf £1.50 did not match the voucher price £1.80. They informed me there was nothing they could do about this, therefore I did not buy the product.

I haven't seen it on sale anywhere else.

Emrob86 · 05/10/2014 18:46
  • Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?
Yes, but only the name. Just thought that it was a cheese brand.
  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?
No.
  • Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)
Caramelised red onion chutney!
  • When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?
I ate it at home mid afternoon.
  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what
Yes, I would usually have something similar or fruit.
  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?
It was very nice! Tasty and good quality!
  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?
It tasted as nice as full fat so it's appealing.
  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?
Yes!
  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?
It's a bit expensive but I would if I was out and about and needed a quick and healthy snack.
  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?
Yes, now that I have tried it I am more likely to have it again since I am satisfied with the flavour and quality.
Wabbit1 · 05/10/2014 20:02

Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?
I wasn't aware of the low low brand of snack but did eat the spread cheese. It brings to mind a tasty treat, a bit lower in fat than most other spreadables

  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?

No I wasn't aware

  • Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)
Sweet tomato relish
  • When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?
At home, in front of the TV during nap time!
  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what
Yes, normally I'd eat anything I can find that is quick - slice of bread with a chicken slice, or a cake.
  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?

It was very tasty so I was very satisfied

  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?
It's very appealing, better than full fat.
  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?
Not sure, 160 calories is still a bit high for a small pack in my opinion. Some packets of crisps are less calorific...even a slice of brown toast is less...
  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?
Probably not.
  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?
Not really, I still think of it as a convenience food - but not really healthy. Ryvita with cheese is healthier - maybe the sales on it's own could be an accompaniment to that
neversleepagain · 05/10/2014 22:41

Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?
Yes but only very vaguely. Because of the name I automatically assumed it was low in fat.

  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?

At home, mid afternoon. I shared it with my toddler twins (who both asked for more!)
  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what
Yes, we would normally have oat cakes with cheese and fruit
  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?
Yum! I really liked it and so did my twins
  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?
Neither appealing nor unappealing

  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what

Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?
Yes, I think there was an advert with a white mouse in it, that's about it.

Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?
No.

Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy?
Caramelised Onion Chutney.

When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?
At home as a mid morning snack.

Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what
Yes, I would usually have a biscuit, toast or fruit.

How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?
I liked it. The cheese tasted good and not low fat. Sometimes pre cut cheese feels like it has a plastic film on it, this doesn't. I found the chutney too sweet. The toasts were great too.

How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?
I don't really feel either way but I don't like the taste of low fat cheese normally.

Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?
Yes, it tasted good and made a nice change from my usual snack.

Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?
No, they are too expensive to be a snack. They are also too filling and too many calories, 187 for my pack. I might consider having them as part of lunch with some fruit, particularly if I was calorie counting.

If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?
It tastes much better than I expected. I would use LowLow cheese as an everyday option now.

HollyBen · 06/10/2014 12:17

Anyone else struggling to find the product? I have been carrying the voucher around but so far failed to find them in either Asda or Tesco. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong places? Please advise

WhyIRayLiotta · 06/10/2014 12:32

Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test? no I wasn't.
Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? Caramelised Onion Chutney
When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack? shared it with DH as we were having some wine on Friday night.

Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what yes we'd usually have crisps / cheese and biscuits or hummous and dips.
How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack? it was quite small - so not satisfied from a hunger point of view.
How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk? I'm a little indifferent to it as long as it doesn't impact the taste.
Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend? hmmm think if be more inclined to tell them to buy proper cheese and crackers... If we were out and about though I probably would - it was tasty and handy.
Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store? I think that it's too expensive. I'd pay £1 for it.
If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand? not really. I was aware of the brand and I think the snack pack is a good addition - and it's in keeping with the brand in my view.

MrsPnut · 06/10/2014 12:39

- Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?
I was aware of the brand and have bought the cheese spread before. When I think about the brand, I think low fat.
- Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test? No, I've never seen them.
- Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)
I bought two, Red Pepper & Onion Chutney and Caremalised Onion Chutney, because they were on offer at Tescos, who incidentally didn't want to accept my voucher. It needed a manager over ride to go through.
- When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?
I had one as an after work snack when I knew dinner was going to be late and I ate the other as a late night snack after a meeting.
- Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what
I probably would have looked for biscuits or crisps to snack on instead.
- How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?
They were both OK, not great and not awful. The cheese was pretty bland but not overly rubbery. The chutnies were both very sweet and there weren't many toasts. I too didn't find the fork until after finishing the second pack!
- How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk? It sounds quite appealing but only if the taste is right.
- Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?
I probably wouldn't.
- Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price 1.50 if it was available in your usual store?
I may buy them if they were on special offer and we were going away but otherwise they aren't worth 1.50.
- If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?
It hasn't really changed the way I think about the brand, I feel the same about the snack packs as I did about the spread. Better than dairylea but not as good as seriously strong.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 06/10/2014 12:44

HollyBen me too..am going to try another place tomorrow, then not sure where to go from there.

RandallFloyd · 06/10/2014 13:00

I found mine in Wilkos, Holly.

Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?
Yes - low fat, processed cheese spread and slices.
Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?
No
Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy?
Onion chutney

When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?
At home
Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what
Cheese and crackers for light/snacky lunch
How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?
It was fine, nice enough although a bit small. Odd shaped packaging which didn't seem to fit the product though, and why big triangles of cheese for small round toast? Cheese was nice, toast was fine but the chutney was very cheap-tasting. Also it's 187 calories so not the 'under 150' quoted above.
How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?
I like the idea but it can be a mixed bag. Some do it a lot better than others
Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?
No
Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?
No, too expensive for what it is, although it was only £1.40 in Wilkos. It's more gimmick than anything else.
If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?
No. I'd still happily buy the spread and cheese, wouldn't bother with the snack pack unless it was on offer though.

  1. I was aware of the LowLow brand before, I have tried some of their ready meals. Always assumed it meant low fat.
  1. I was aware of the snack pack but had never tried it.
  1. I tried the Cranberry relish one, not listed.
  1. Ate it mid afternoon at home.
  1. I work split shifts and would normally have a sandwich at this time so I had it instead of that.
  1. I was satisfied, although I prefer a stronger cheese and this one was quite tasteless, the cranberry relish made up for it though, it was lovely!
  1. I dont mind if cheese is made with skimmed milk as long as it doesnt mean it loses the flavour.
  1. I probably wouldnt recommend it. Crackers and cheese do just the same job.
  1. No I wouldnt pay £1.50 for it, i regularly eat oatcakes and cheese, more substantial and far less than £1.50.
  1. No it hasnt.
