  • Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand? No, I hadn’t come across the brand before the product test.
  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test? Same as above, I wasn’t aware of the Snack Pack before the test.
  • Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney) I tried the Sweet Tomato Relish pack
  • When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack? I ate the pack whilst watching my son swim after school
  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what Yep, I usually munch a bag of crisps whilst watching him swim
  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack? Not overly impressed to be honest. This might have been to do with the fact that a piece of toast was swimming in the relish when I opened the pack. It was soggy and not very appealing!
  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk? Fairly appealing.
  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend? Possibly. I’m putting my soggy toast swimmer down as an anomaly!
  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store? Hmmm… if it was £1 - £1.30 I would or in a snack deal.
  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand? I wasn’t aware.
EmLH · 12/10/2014 20:50

I was aware of Lowlow snack packs before the test, but didn't realise they did other products too. I bought both red pepper and sweet tomato flavours from Asda. I ate one at home on a busy day for a quick substitute lunch. DD took the other one to school for snack time. I would usually have a salad or sandwich and DD usually takes fruit/veg or oat bars etc.

I was very happy with it and DD (aged 4) said she liked it too. It feels a bit more substantial than some of her usual snacks, so I was pleased.

I had tried red pepper before so I chose the sweet tomato flavour this time. I think both are lovely. If for a substitute lunch they could do with being bigger, but as a snack idea, they're just right.

I like the idea of semi-skimmed, it doesn't put me off. I would prefer full fat for DD though.

I would definitely recommend the product. I would, however, only buy them at £1 each or on a two for £2 deal. This is the price I've paid before and I think £1.50 is a bit steep.

I liked the brand before and still do.

Thanks for the trial Smile

Lindy2 · 12/10/2014 22:44

Not aware of the low low brand before this or this product.
I had caramelised onion.

I ate it as an afternoon snack at home.
I would probably have eaten crisps if I hadn't had this.
I liked it, it was a bit different and more filling and special than crisps.
I like the fact it is skimmed milk so it is lower in calories.
I would recommend it to a friend of we were talking about snacks.
The price of £1.50 seems high to me as it was quite small. I would probably buy crisps as a cheaper alternative or if I was spending that much would but a sandwich ad something a bit more substantial.

MakeTeaNotWar · 13/10/2014 08:56

I haven't found anywhere local that stocks these either so have added to my Ocado shop to be delivered on Thursday so will report back then. Luckily they are currently on 2-for-1 offer in case I don't like them!

jaamy · 13/10/2014 12:56

How long do we have left to post feedback? Am keeping an eye out for them whenever I am in a store but am not going to make a special trip around all the supermarkets, sorry.

Etihad · 13/10/2014 17:46

Finally found them! Lovely chutney (onion) cheese nice texture and flavour strength just right. Would have liked a bit more toast though.

mjmooseface · 13/10/2014 18:30

Etihad Where did you find yours?! I still can't find any!! :/

dinkystinky · 14/10/2014 10:49

I'm still trying to find somewhere that stocks them too (work in central London, the Tesco metro near me had them for 2 days then they were withdrawn for some reason) - will report back as and when I do!

lottietiger · 14/10/2014 12:01

Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?
Yes. The name makes you think of a low calorie product.

blindcaptaincat · 14/10/2014 12:27

Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?

No, I don't think I had heard of it. If I had, I would automatically assume it was a low fat brand.

  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?

No. I did look in a few smaller supermarkets before finding the snack in a large Sainbos, so perhaps it is not ubiquitous yet?

  • Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)

Caramelised Onion Chutney.

  • When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?

I ate it today for lunch. At home.

  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what.

I would normally have lunch - usually a sandwich, scrambled egg or crackers and cheese or similar.

  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?

It was nice, but I was surprised by the lack of substance on opening it. Five pieces of toast was a little stingy, although the cheese slices (5) were good. I am still hungry having eaten it about 20 minutes ago and will no doubt get something else to eat shortly (though I do understand that it is not meant to be a meal replacement).

The relish was WAY WAY too sweet and overpowered the cheese completely. The cheese was a good texture - it was nice to see 'proper' cheese, but I would prefer a stronger flavour. There was too much relish and not enough crackers.

Also, I discovered the fork after finishing the snack. A black fork, in black packaging, underneath some cheese and with no indication of the inclusion of a utensil on the box Hmm

  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?

Fairly appealing. We do sometimes buy low fat cheese. It certainly wouldn't put me off buying the cheese.

  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?

Perhaps. It was tasty and very convenient, but far too expensive (£1.75 in Sainsburys).

  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?

No, too expensive. I would maybe buy it if I was on the go and there was little else on offer, but only if it was £1 or less.

  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?

No change as I wasn't aware previously. However, I think there was too much sugar in the pack, As with most low fat snacks, it seems hugely over-sugared (is that a word...)

Thanks for the voucher!

Didyouevah · 14/10/2014 16:28

Many thanks for the opportunity to try this:

  • Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test?

No - never heard of it.

  • Were you aware of the LowLow Snack Pack before this product test?

Nope!

  • Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy?

Caramelised Onion Chutney

  • When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?

At home - Sunday morning after swimming. About 11am.

  • Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what

Yes - crisps/biscuits or some other junk.

  • How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?

I absolutely loved it. I was expecting to be underwhelmed, but it was lovely. Just the right amount.

  • How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?

I like the idea of cheese per se, so the fact it is slightly lower in fat is a bonus but not a deal breaker.

  • Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?

Yes, definitely.

  • Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price £1.50 if it was available in your usual store?

This was the only thing.... I think it's a bit expensive. If it was £1 I'd definitely have it as part of my snack armoury. I think I'd also be prepared to find the fork as that wasn't immediately obvious!

  • If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?

Never heard of it, so no preconceptions Smile

Thank-you!

CaptainSinker · 14/10/2014 21:43

I can't cut and paste the questions so trying to answer from memory.

Thanks for the voucher. I had heard of Low Low but not tried it. I have eaten other low fat hard cheese before. I am fine about the idea of it. As long as it tastes ok it is good to have a healthier option.

I got the tomato relish one. Very nice. I scoffed it in my car on the way back to work ( bought on lunch break).

I would recommend it and would buy again.

CaptainSinker · 14/10/2014 21:45

Questions I missed. £1.50 is too much for a snack.

When I think of low low I think of mice (from advert?). I suppose for some reason it has cheap, synthetic connotations. Cheese was a nice surprise as a result.

AndHarry · 15/10/2014 11:19

Were you aware of the LowLow brand before this product test? If so, what comes to mind when you think about the LowLow brand?

No, I wasn't aware of the brand at all.

No, not at all.

Which LowLow Snack Pack did you buy? (available in 3 flavours: Red Pepper & Onion Chutney, Sweet Tomato Relish, Caramelised Onion Chutney)

Caramelised onion chutney.

When and where did you eat the LowLow Snack Pack?
At work for a mid-morning snack.

Was this in place of another snack you would normally eat at that time? If so, please tell us what

I usually have a small packet of rice cakes or, if I forget to bring them, crisps or chocolate from the work canteen.

How satisfied were you with the LowLow Snack Pack?

It was very nice. A couple more crackers would be great.

How appealing or unappealing do you find the idea of cheese made from semi skimmed milk?

I haven't really thought about it but surely you need fat to make the cheese?

Would you recommend the LowLow Snack Pack to a friend?

Yes, probably.

Would you buy the LowLow Snack Pack at the price 1.50 if it was available in your usual store?

Probably not as my usual snack is 2.50 for a pack of 5x4 rice cakes. However I might consider it as a change now and again.

If you were previously aware of the LowLow brand, has the LowLow Snack Pack changed the way you think about the brand?

Not applicabke; I wasn't aware of the brand before.

dinkystinky · 15/10/2014 14:01

Right finally found a Tesco metro stocking it and after a 5 minute argument with the manager as to whether or not the voucher should be accepted, have purchased and consumed it.

SweetPeaPods · 16/10/2014 06:50

Still trying to find them in stock near me....

Be ready to have an argument about whether or not the voucher is valid when you finally do find a stockist cupofteaplease and Sweetpeapods...

  • I was aware of the LowLow brand before trying the snack pack, we have some of their cheese slices, so I already knew I like the cheese, although it isn't my favourite.
  • yes, I was aware of the snack packs before the test.

-I bought the sweet tomato relish one as it was the only one stocked in Tescos where I work. I wanted to try the caramelised onion relish one.

  • I ate the snack at my desk at work in the late afternoon.
  • I often eat fruit, biscuits or crisps at this time normally. It was more filling than fruit and felt healthier than crisps or biscuits. It wouldn't be enough for lunch for me.
  • the taste of the cheese us perfectly acceptable, but there is another low fat brand that I ruins more flavoursome.

-I would buy the snack pack for a change, but probably not regularly.

It was quite annoying that the voucher wouldn't scan and I had to wait for someone to help he.

PopPig · 17/10/2014 20:36

Asked husband to get this while doing the shopping. Argument in Tesco ensued... wouldn't accept the voucher.. big queue so he just bought it. Feedback to follow...
