Disaster! My bottle split in transit to me and the Post Office understandably refused to deliver it, I had to make a special trip to the sorting office in order to authorise them to dispose of it.

So I can't test it, but I can say it smelt very nice as they handed it to me, dripping through the 'damaged' bag :)

Mine arrived yesterday- well a jiffy bag full of floor cleaner did!
There was a bit left in the bottle, though I'm not sure its going to be enough to wash an entire floor.

They really need to package things a little better!

Q1. Why did you want to take part in this product test? What aspect of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner appealed most?

For quick and easy cleaning of floors, a job I hate doing, although I always feel better afterwards!

Q2. Where in your home did you use the Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What type of floor did you use it on?

In the kitchen and the downstairs loo, both have lino.

Q3. What was your overall impression of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What did you like most about it? Was there anything you didn't like?

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use, although I still filled a bucket with hot water to wet the mop with, it didn't seem right otherwise. The direction of the nozzle was a bit hit and miss and I did overspray some areas.

Q4. How would you describe or rate the fragrance of the product? How did you find not having to rinse the floor afterwards?

I would highly rate the fragrance, it smelt fresh and clean without the overpowering smell that the normal floor cleaners have. I did still dunk the mop in the hot bucket of water after several sweeps of the mop, it didn't feel right otherwise. Maybe next time I will resist the temptation!

Q5. How much time would you say it saved you? What sort of situation do you think this would be particularly useful for?

Oddly it did save me time - I can't work that one out because I still filled the mop bucket with hot water, although I didn't dunk the mop as often as I normally would. I think it would be extremely useful for a quick clean of the downstairs toilet floor and odd spillages on the kitchen floor. I liked using it a lot more than I thought I would.

Q6. How effective did you find Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner compared to your usual cleaning product?

Very effective, the floors looked very clean without much effort.

Q7. The RRP for Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner is £2.00 (750ml bottle), do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I will probably buy it again and I am very surprised at that, I didn't think I would.

Q8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would recommend it, particularly for a quick clean of floors when you don't want to do a full mop and don't have time for the floors to dry properly.

So after driving to the sorting office this morning, and queuing for 20 minutes in the rain, the nice lady handed me a soggy white Jiffy bag with an empty bottle inside.

I'm therefore obviously unable to test it as there's none there!

I haven't read the whole thread but just incase this hasn't already been said, I'm astonished that Cif used Jiffy bags which were too small anyway, to send bottles of liquid around the country! Surely the end result was inevitable?!

If they'd like to send me another bottle by a different means, or packaged more securely, then I'd still be very happy to test it!

Q1. Why did you want to take part in this product test? What aspect of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner appealed most?I wanted to try this product to compare with my existing product.
Q2. Where in your home did you use the Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What type of floor did you use it on?the front room, hallway and kitchen
Q3. What was your overall impression of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What did you like most about it? Was there anything you didn't like? I felt the application was good until I realised how much you needed to pally to a large area. Feel it would be better as a spray dispenser.
Q4. How would you describe or rate the fragrance of the product? How did you find not having to rinse the floor afterwards? I thought the fragrance would be stronger. Disappointed compared to other products I have used. Pleased how you don't need to rinse afterwards. This is a good aect of this product.
Q5. How much time would you say it saved you? What sort of situation do you think this would be particularly useful for? No time saved in comparison difference is drying time. In between clean, freshen up.
Q6. How effective did you find Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner compared to your usual cleaning product? Not as effective as my flash cleaner.
Q7. The RRP for Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner is £2.00 (750ml bottle), do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not, why not? I won't buy this product at this price as I don't think it compares to the fragrance or easy use of my spray flash cleaner. May consider if on offer.
Q8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?unfortunately it isn't a product I would highly recommend due to the comments mentioned earlier.

Q3. Very good , lovely shine on the tiles.

Q4. I had the blue one, wasn't much of a smell, but I don't like a strong smell.

Q5. None, I use Dettol Direct floor cleaner usually. It's very good for a quick sweep around after the dog.

Q6. About the same, The Cif dried a bit tacky at first.

Q7. I would buy it at £2, but the Dettol one is often 99p - £1 in the cheapy shops /Poundland.

Q8. Yes I would recommend it.

Q1. I wanted to take part in this test as we have dogs, a cat and a small person who likes nothing better than throwing her food on the floor. CID Express Direct to Floor cleaner appealed to me as I hate mops, the floor takes ages to dry. I had a veiled a spray 'mop' which was brilliant but after a month the spray stopped working. So I wanted to find something I can use to clean the floor which is quick and easy,
Q2. I used this on the floors in the kitchen and the utility, both of which are tiled floors.
Q3. I liked that you could just squirt it straight onto the floor and could use it without putting it into a mop bucket. I didn't like the lack of fragrance.
Q4. The product didn't have any fragrance which was a shame as I like things to smell nice when they are clean. It was fantastic not having to rinse afterwards, so quick and easy!
Q5. I tend to use my Vileda 1-2 Spray Mop which I loved but it stopped spraying after only a couple of months so I have just been using floor wipes. This is a lot quicker than floor wipes and although it is probably as quick as the Vileda mop, it is a bit less messy and doesn't take as long to dry.
Q6. It was perhaps not quite as effective as using disinfectant in the Vileda mop as the Cif is obviously not as wet unless you used a lot or diluted it which defeats the object. However it therefore doesn't take as long to dry. It is designed more for your in between cleans as I don't think it would do a really thorough clean. I used a tesco sponge mop but I think I would look at something which has a washable mop head as the sponge never seems to get completely clean.
Q7. £2 for the 750ml bottle is a good price as it did go a long way, the nozzle doesn't let loads of product out so I probably would buy it if there is a fragranced version.
Q8. I would recommend Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner to my friends/family if there is a fragranced option.

Here are some photos of the utility which was filthy as that's where my two collies sleep

Q1. Why did you want to take part in this product test? What aspect of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner appealed most?
I don't have any carpets and I have a dog, 2 cats and a 2yo so I'm always mopping/sweeping/swiffing/steaming. In all honesty I was intrigued. I've used zillions of different things on my floors so I was interested to see how this was different.

Q2. Where in your home did you use the CIF Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What type of floor did you use it on?
All rooms and also work surfaces. Laminate floor (the cheap kind) and lino.

Q3. What was your overall impression of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What did you like most about it? Was there anything you didn't like?
It was great, cleaned really well. I liked it a lot, but I don't think it's any better than any other decent floor cleaner. To be totally honest I think it's a clever marketing gimmick. I don't see why you couldn't use any other floor cleaner in the same way if you wanted to.

Q4. How would you describe or rate the fragrance of the product? How did you find not having to rinse the floor afterwards?
Smell was really nice, not too strong but definitely 'clean' smelling without being too chemically. I can't imagine anyone actually 'rinses' their floor do they? As in, mopping again completely with plain water, I certainly haven't. And you need to wet your mop first anyway so I genuinely don't see what that claim is all about.

Q5. How much time would you say it saved you? What sort of situation do you think this would be particularly useful for?
Didn't save any time but it does clean very well so great for spills and muddy paw prints. I used it on the work surfaces a lot though, the same way I would use surface spray. It worked really well for that.

Q6. How effective did you find Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner compared to your usual cleaning product?
Worked just as well as any other decent quality cleaner.

Q7. The RRP for Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner is £2.00 (750ml bottle), do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
I wouldn't buy it at full price as there are plenty of own brand cleaners that do exactly the same job for much less but I'd definitely buy it on offer.

Q8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I honestly can't ever conceive of a situation whereby floor cleaner would come up in conversation! If it did I'd be having words with myself!

Q1. Why did you want to take part in this product test? What aspect of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner appealed most?

I'd tried a few Cif products before and found that they did a good job with less effort than I thought.

Q2. Where in your home did you use the Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What type of floor did you use it on?

I used it on laminate flooring in my kitchen and dining room.

Q3. What was your overall impression of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What did you like most about it? Was there anything you didn't like?

It worked! I really like that it doesn't require dilution or rinsing. We don't have a great deal of space to store a mop bucket so that really helped. There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

Q4. How would you describe or rate the fragrance of the product? How did you find not having to rinse the floor afterwards?

I got a blue one (not sure which fragrance it was supposed to be). Really glad not to have to rinse the floor afterwards, although it did take quite a long time to dry.

Q5. How much time would you say it saved you? What sort of situation do you think this would be particularly useful for?

I usually clean the floor with antibacterial wipes (see lack of space for a mop bucket above...) so this saved about 5 minutes of me scrubbing on my hands and knees. This is a great product for end-of-day cleaning.

Q6. How effective did you find Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner compared to your usual cleaning product?

Very effective. Drying time was longer but it was easier to use.

Q7. The RRP for Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner is £2.00 (750ml bottle), do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

I'll definitely buy this again. It was easy to use, effective and time-saving.

Q8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would. It works!

Q1. Why did you want to take part in this product test? What aspect of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner appealed most?
I wanted to take part as we have a hard to clean floor (procelain tiles), plus wood and ceramic tiles and a 4 month old baby, so once she is on the move we need a quick and effective cleaning method! The fast method was what appealed the most

Q2. Where in your home did you use the Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What type of floor did you use it on?
Porcelain tiles - kitchen diner
Wood - hallway
Ceramic tiles - downstairs cloakroom

Q3. What was your overall impression of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What did you like most about it? Was there anything you didn't like?
On the wood and ceramic tiles it was really great, fast, effective, saved time and effort and worked really well. It did dry very fast as well!
However on the porcelain tiles it left streaks when it dried. Even when we re-tried a patch and dried afterwards you could see lines from the mop - not impressed at all!

Q4. How would you describe or rate the fragrance of the product? How did you find not having to rinse the floor afterwards?
Enjoyed not rinsing (although didn't work on the porcelain tiles). Didn't notice much about the fragrance to be honest.

Q5. How much time would you say it saved you? What sort of situation do you think this would be particularly useful for?
Useful for a speedy clean definately.

Q6. How effective did you find Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner compared to your usual cleaning product?
Better on wood/ceramic tiles. Not as good on porcelain for reasons previously mentioned

Q7. The RRP for Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner is £2.00 (750ml bottle), do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, because of the kitchen floor issue. We would have bought it if we just had ceramic/wood floors, but no use having it for that if we have to have the full mop and bucket and use another product on the porcelain tiles.

Q8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes if they had ceramic tiles or wood as it did the job well. Would have to warn about the "shiny" tile problem though

I wanted to take part because, with 4 kids, a dog and an OH that wouldn't know what to do with a mop, anything that makes life easier is alright by me!
I used it on the bathroom, kitchen and bedroom floors. The bathroom and kitchen are lino and the bedroom is concrete. I also used it on the tiles around the bath.
I have to say I was a little sceptical about the cleaner, what's the point pouring it straight on the floor rather than mixing it in the bucket? So I was pleasantly surprised to find how much easier it was. No stopping to squeeze out the mop, no lugging around the heavy bucket. I was a little bit unsure of how much to use so instructions could be clearer. Do you squirt it all around the floor? Just a blob in the middle then spread it out?
The smell was delicious, really fresh and my OH said something smelled really nice when he came in the front door so it's long-lasting too.
Not having to squeeze out the mop and rinse probably saved me at least half an hour.
I usually use bleach with a little washing up liquid. I couldn't honestly say the floor was better cleaned, but it smelled much nicer and was much easier.
I think £2 is probably a fair price for it, the bottle seems huge! Unfortunately I'm on a really tight budget and a bottle of bleach is only 70p.
I would definitely recommend Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner to anyone who has a busy life and/or messy kids.

Thanks for choosing me!

I wanted to take part in the test because we have a lot of tiled floor and anything that claims to be very easy to use and dry sounded great to me. Smile
I used the CIF Express Direct Cleaner on the tiled bathroom floor and the tiled kitchen floor.
My overall impression was that it was extremely easy to use, as you could just squirt it directly onto the floor and then mop. It dried quickly too, which I liked as there was no soggy floors afterwards.
It was easy to use, quick and got them clean,so I was impressed.
I really liked the lemon fragrance, it's a nice fresh smell, and not too overpowering like some cleaners tend to be.
I'd definitely buy it again, as it's so quick and easy to apply - just squirt and mop! If anyone was wanting to know what cleaner is best to use on their floors, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Q1. Why did you want to take part in this product test? What aspect of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner appealed most?

I quite often do a spot-clean of the kitchen floor, when I haven't got time to mop the whole thing. I've used other products (spray cleaner, ordinary floor cleaner) on a cloth to wipe the floor but they often leave a sticky residue and then need rinsing.

I was hoping that the Direct to Floor cleaner would be more appropriate for this kind of quick spot-clear,

Q2. Where in your home did you use the Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What type of floor did you use it on?

I've used it on the kitchen floor (tiles), bathroom (manky old lino) and conservatory (wood laminate)

Q3. What was your overall impression of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What did you like most about it? Was there anything you didn't like?

I really like it! I've used it as directed, squirted onto the floor and mopping with my microfibre mop. This left all types of flooring lovely and clean, smelling fresh and most importantly to me - no sticky reside! You really don't need to rinse it. I've also used it on a cloth for a quick wipe of a spill on the kitchen floor and it's ideal for this. It also dried very quickly when I used it to mop, which is another good feature.

Q4. How would you describe or rate the fragrance of the product? How did you find not having to rinse the floor afterwards?

I like the fragrance. It's clean and fresh and not overpowering.
I love not having to rinse afterwards - this is the major selling point of the product for me.

Q5. How much time would you say it saved you? What sort of situation do you think this would be particularly useful for?

My kitchen is really small so mopping the floor was never a major job. It probably took me 20 mins to sweep, mop and rinse. With the Direct to Floor Cleaner, it probably knocked 5-10 mins off that time.

Q6. How effective did you find Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner compared to your usual cleaning product?

It cleaned as well as my usual floor cleaner. I also like that you could squirt it onto a particularly dirty patch, dried on food in the kitchen, for example, leave it for a bit and then wipe up.

Q7. The RRP for Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner is £2.00 (750ml bottle), do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I definitely would. I've only used a little bit so far, it seems to last well. The price is comparable to my usual floor cleaner, but overall I much prefer the Cif Express Direct to Floor cleaner.

Q8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would, especially for people with small children or pets, who don't have a lot of time to clean.

Q1. Why did you want to take part in this product test? What aspect of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner appealed most?

convenience and speed. I have used something similar to this before and found it good but hadn't been using it lately so wanted to try the cif version

Q2. Where in your home did you use the Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What type of floor did you use it on?

wooden and laminate floors, for all the downstairs rooms of my house

Q3. What was your overall impression of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What did you like most about it? Was there anything you didn't like?

I like it, it's really convenient and cleans well enough so I found it useful to keep the place freshened up in between the full mopping with a bucket

Q4. How would you describe or rate the fragrance of the product? How did you find not having to rinse the floor afterwards?

not having to rinse just saves a lot of time!

Q5. How much time would you say it saved you? What sort of situation do you think this would be particularly useful for?

it saves about half an hour compared to the usual method

Q6. How effective did you find Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner compared to your usual cleaning product?

just as good

Q7. The RRP for Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner is £2.00 (750ml bottle), do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes its great value

Q8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q1. Why did you want to take part in this product test? What aspect of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner appealed most?

I thought it sounded like a good product, nice and easy to use and would get a job done in no time at all.

Q2. Where in your home did you use the Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What type of floor did you use it on?

I have used it on tile, cushion floor and laminate through the whole downstairs of the house.

Q3. What was your overall impression of Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner? What did you like most about it? Was there anything you didn't like?

I'm in two minds about it to be honest. I think if used daily then it would be great, and it's a great way to give the floors a quick clean but it didn't remove food marks from the floor (after my 2 & 7 year old boys) it just didn't have enough power to break it down.

Q4. How would you describe or rate the fragrance of the product? How did you find not having to rinse the floor afterwards?

I liked the fragrance, we got the Wild Orchid & Velvet Flowers (Pink), and it had a great scent to it. I loved the fact that I didn't have to rinse the floor afterwards and also that the floor dried really quickly which is great in the kitchen as it usually takes ages due to the flooring!

Q5. How much time would you say it saved you? What sort of situation do you think this would be particularly useful for?

I wouldn't say it really saved any time I don't think, I didn't have to fill the mop bucket but that isn't really time consuming anyway, but it was quick and easy to use, just direct at the floor and squeeze. This would be great for everyday cleaning, or straight after spills have happened.

Q6. How effective did you find Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner compared to your usual cleaning product?

In the kitchen I found it brilliant and just as good as my usual cleaning product (bleach & hot water) but on the laminate floor I didn't find it as good, it didn't seem to remove food marks so easily, I had to rub at them with a hot wet cloth.

Q7. The RRP for Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner is £2.00 (750ml bottle), do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

I probably would buy it again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to source it if it wasn't easily available where I shop.

Q8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Cif Express Direct to Floor Cleaner to your friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I think I would. It's great for giving a quick clean over. It's effortless so long as your floors are relatively clean. (You don't have really messy children like mine who like to drop/rub their food in the floor lol)

Thanks for allowing me to try this product out.

Q1 I mistakenly thought it would leave a shine on tiles
Q2 I used it on a tiled hall floor and a grubby piece of floorboarding
Q3 I loved it, I really didn't believe it would work without smearing
Q4 The fragrance is lovely and fresh, the cleaning power compensated for lack of shine
Q5 It waved me a good hour! Very useful for general cleaning and emergency visitors!!
Q6 Very effective
Q7 I would maybe buy it and see how many uses I'd get from it
Q8 Yes, I definitely would, its great

Sorry I didn't take photos, but I had grubby floors before I used it and spotless clean floors afterwards, and all done in a Cif! Grin
