We've been asked by Dyson to find 15 MNers who are willing and able to try out the new Dyson Digital Slim - DC44.

Dyson say "The Dyson Digital Slim(tm) is one of Dyson's newest inventions and is a lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner, engineered for nimble, high performance spot cleaning. From cobwebs in corners to quick skirting boards and stairs, it is balanced for floor to ceiling cordless cleaning.

Dyson's DC44 is also perfect for quick clean ups - so you'll be ready for any surprise visitors this festive period"

More info here

We're looking for MNers to try this who:
~ are around between now and Christmas eve to receive the product (and ideally have a house-full of guests)
~ are at home over Christmas break to try it out (it's ideal for whizzing round under the tree)
~ willing to add feedback - at least twice - to a thread on Mumsnet over the festive season - we'll be looking for you to add your responses to some questions and also to add further thoughts
~ willing to add a review here
~ are in the UK

Dyson would also like to set MNers some challenges with their DC44 - these will be sent to the selected testers and you'll be asked to add your feedback on how you got on with the challenges.

We're also looking for the testers to send in some video footage of the DC44 being used around the home - and completing the challenges. If you're happy to make a film for Dyson please tick the box on the application form. If you're selected you'll be asked to film yourself, your children and any pets in your home using the DC44. This shouldn't be too onerous. You'll then need to send in your footage to MN. Please note the videos will then be edited into a montage and will feature on dyson.co.uk as well as on the Dyson YouTube channel and possibly elsewhere (eg Facebook, MN) - your name will not be used. You will be sent notes on filming.

If you'd like to take part please add your details here

Please note : if selected products will be sent out this week for delivery before Christmas - please only apply if you are around then for delivery and can also feedback. And for those not successful on becoming a tester, you will be emailed by MN details of a special Christmas treat from Dyson.

If you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

Thanks MNHQ

PS if you don't get selected or aren't able to apply for this test, please keep an eye out for the feedback thread where you could win a Dyson product of your choice.

Done, everything crossed here, I meant to say on my reasons that I can provide proof that I am getting a new stair carpet laid tomorow!

Good luck everyone!

I would definitely give it a run for its money. My family is coming over from Holland (2 adults and 2 teens), there's the 4 of us and my in laws. Most of them will be staying here for 5 days. We also have a greyhound and are looking after SIL's lovely but hair shedding boxer for the duration. Our house is usually used as a guesthouse combined with private home so lots of emergency quick tidy ups to do all the time. My current Henri is a lovely, strong work horse but really heavy to move between 4 floors all the time.
Sounds like this Dyson could be the answer to my prayers as I have been looking for a hand-held vacuum cleaner for a long time but have so far always been disappointed as they are never up to the job.
Go on....... let me have a go!! Xmas Grin

I would LOVE to test this! Our huge DC14 is on it's last legs, having been abused by builders, and we have the compact Dyson Animal, but it's obviously not enough to keep our house clean over Xmas! I was looking at the Slim but not convinced it was heavy duty enough for our household.

Survey completed Xmas Smile
Would LOVE to try this out.
We still have the original DC01 Xmas Shock

I can think of so many more than three reasons why I would love to try this.

Oh my goodness, I would LOVE to try this! I have lusted after it in John Lewis.
Survey duly filled in, and I keep everything crossed.
If I'm not successful I'll scour the feedback thread anyway to see what others think.

I really hope this is better than their Animal one. I have just one cat (short haired & outdoors most of the time) & the damned thing (hoover, not cat) doesn't do half as well as my old Phillips pull along one. I have cleaned it, washed all the washable bits & even hoovered it backwards to no avail!

Done.
It's so skinny and looks so light, I have to take my bloody enormous vax to bits and carry it separately to be able to Hoover upstairs because its so heavy.
Fingers crossed Smile

Done, but I managed to omit half the household.

Over the Christmas period, we will be 3 children (as stated) but 5 adults - I think I put 2 Blush.

Sorry for the mix up!

Ooh yes i've applied for this one. I have a messy child, house guinea pigs and currently TWO broken Dysons! I will also have a house full of people all over Christmas and my house is tiny so it looks ideal to be able to whip it out and do a quick clean up around people!

bluebump · 18/12/2012 17:58

I just thought actually, I changed my mind at the last minute and put that I would do a video (well my 4 year old wants to do one and I figured that might help my chances if I put yes to that question Blush) but then I forgot to go back and answer the question on how i'd film it (there was a question on that wasn't there?) I'd use my phone or camera, whatever is easiest...

Done, when will we know??

Dyson have a lot of faith in British postal system if the vacuums are going to get where there going by Monday!

CrushedWithIcicles · 18/12/2012 18:58

Gaah!!! I've only put 2 adults, as that is what is usually on my family. On Christmas Day I've got DM, DF, DSis, DBil and another DBil so will have 7 adults and 3 children....please tell me I haven't fucked up my (slim) chance?

Report
SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 18/12/2012 19:04

Were we meant to put in the adults who will be in the house on Xmas day? I only put the 4 adults that live here all the time, there will be more than that on Xmas day. Confused
