Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Good size for my small kitchen

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

I would like to know what is it rin but everything is in French! I need to know as I am currently tryoing outdifferent laundry liquids due to v bad eczema, and need to be able to tell my GP what is in it.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Fine. Better than Ecover.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Not until I know what is in it.

EmpressOfTheNorthPole · 02/12/2012 10:44

I had a look at a pouch, Soupy. They have screw on caps so should be fine.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Very small, easy to use

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
make the bottle bigger

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
loved the smell- impressed by the cleaning power

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes, I am impressed by the smell and the cleaning results, and the fact that it is hypoallergenic (although DD's sensitive skin has not yet had a chance to test this out)

IAmSheWhoMustBeObeyed · 02/12/2012 10:56

Marking place. Bottle arrived Friday. Full test as soon as there is space on the pulley, racks and radiators.

What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Small and compact. Ideal for me as I sometimes go to the supermarket on the bus if DP is working so it would be easier/lighter to carry! The pump itself is fab - squirts precisely into the washer drawer so no mess.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
It is quite pricey. Also the fragrance is barely there on the washed clothes and I do like a bit of fragrance but that's just personal preference.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
The fragrance in the bottle is nice but after washing the clothes don't really smell of anything. The cleaning power of the liquid is good even on a whites wash.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would recommend purely because it's so concentrated and therefore easier to carry when shopping.

thestylethatdecadesforgot · 02/12/2012 11:01

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I really like it. I've used it for the last year or so and buy the refill, which means the packaging is not thrown away. Although you do have to throw the refill packaging away, unfortunately! I love how small it is, taking up less space under the sink. My daughter (2.5) can squirt the pump Ito the washer drawer so she likes it!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I suppose only the price! I usually pay £6 and sometimes manage to get it on offer for £4 or £5. The refill is £14 but I have found it on offer for £10. I search My supermarket to find when it's on offer.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I love the fragrance. The other two fragrances are also lovely. It's a much more natural smell and I'm so used to it now that when I smell other washing liquid smells they are so strong and over powering I feel a bit queasy! Waning wise it's great. I use an Eco stain remover on stains but generally speaking anything that's not been allowed to set dry on clothes will come out using Method. Even newborn poo! Though the reusable nappies need some extra help.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would recommend it and I have to a few friends and relatives. I think most are put off by the price because it looks small.

I love Method stuff and I use their products all over the house. One thing I would like with regard to refills, now they are merged with Ecover is refill stations. That would save on packaging even more. I have never seen them but I understand Ecover has refill stations. If they could be in supermarkets for the washing liquid, washing up liquid and the sprays that would be great!

thestylethatdecadesforgot · 02/12/2012 11:05

Oh and I forgot to add, I haven't cleaned my washing machine drawer for a while, having had another baby, and was worried it would be really bad. But having used Method exclusively for so long now, the drawer was fine, no build up, no residue set and hard to clean and no mould, which seems to stick to powder somehow.

Tigerbomb · 02/12/2012 11:14

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Size was great and I love the pump action

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
The price! I want to be green but I can't always afford it.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I loved the fragrence when sniffing the bottle but I couldn't smell it on the clean dried washing. The laundry smelt clean but not as good as the bottle

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes - I have already told my mother that it's great at cleaning but did say it was a bit pricey.

SoupDragon · 02/12/2012 11:38

Persil 50 wash box powder is currently on offer at Ocado at 14p per wash. It is usually 24p per wash. Ariel 65 washes powder on offer at 15.4p per wash, usually 23p. Fairy 65 washes on offer at 16.9p, usually 26p.

The full priced Method refill isn't looking so expensive after all.

Elfontheedge · 02/12/2012 12:10

First wash on. It's s jeans wash too so should be a good challenge!

MrsSJG · 02/12/2012 12:19

First load on, hopefully it's good

ilovemydogandMrObama · 02/12/2012 12:22

am doing a load of washing, but for those who commented about a refill pouch option, I have seen them in Waitrose and Sainsbury's.

fairyfun · 02/12/2012 12:22

Q1 - I love the compact bottle ideally does help when you have a lack of storage. Its hard to get your head around such a small amount can clean your clothes so well. I like the pump action so we have no spills. So overall I really like the product.

Q2 - it would be a preferred choice if the price was in line with similar brands.

Q3 - I would like it a little more fragrance, it smells a little sterile.

Q4 - I would tell family/ friends about the product due to how compact it is and the pump nozzle but the price would be the issue.

Elegantlywasted · 02/12/2012 12:58

Q1 like the size of the bottle, if I had smaller children would store well out of their reach as appears not be childproof.

Q2. The price, Waitrose has the refill pouch on offer at the moment at £10.20, for 85 washes that's very good but still at full price supermarket own brands are better.

Q3. I have only done one load, nothing particularly grubby apart from a paint stained blouse. I did apply a small amount directly to it, added 5 squirts to the load and put it on a 30 c wash. I'm afraid the stain didn't budge, in fairness to Method it may need a stain devil type treatment but I have some towels to wash later so will add the blouse and wash at a higher temp. The smell does seem less chemical.

Q4. not sure yet, I want to do a couple of loads with sports kit to see how it deals with ingrained mud! If the cleaning power passes muster, I would recommend but with a warning about the price.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 02/12/2012 13:01

quick and scintillating update:
I spot-treated the stained polo shirt with a squirt of method, and rewashed. It is now clean. I am now more impressed Grin

SoupDragon · 02/12/2012 13:11

at full price supermarket own brands are better.

Waitrose washing powder isn't.

fishandlilacs · 02/12/2012 13:26

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I like the compact packaging and the ease of dispensing the liquid.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
It's a little highly scented for me in the bottle.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I like the fragrance once the clothes are dry, it's really fresh, but i got some on my hand and despite washing it off the smell stayed on my hand for ages.

I am very impressed with the cleaning power, I used it to stain treat a oil stain on a favourite top of mine which other laundry products had failed to remove. One wash and the mark is gone and i am delighted. It also made my husbands uniform polo shirts which had gone a bit fusty under the arms smell better.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
yes i really would. i would say that it's compact, effective and easy to use.

Onetwothreeoops · 02/12/2012 13:28

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

The size of the bottle is fab and absolutely love squirting straight into the machine rather than faffing with a little pot.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

I am unclear whether additional fabric conditioner is necessary, if it is necessary then I would like to change that.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

The fragrance seems quite strong but that is probably just because I'm not used to it. I actually like the smell, it made my kitchen/drying room smell very fresh.

The cleaning power is at least equal to my current laundry liquid.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I will have to reserve judgement on that one at the moment. The only reason I can think for having a conversation about laundry liquid is in relation to my dc's eczema. There has been no immediate reaction to the Method liquid which is good but it will take a while longer to rule out any reaction at all. If there are no flare-ups I will definitely be recommending this product.

MrsMangoBiscuit · 02/12/2012 13:29

Mine turned up on Friday, but I haven't done any washing in the last few days [slattern] Just about to go put a wash on, the bottle smells delicious. Same as Juno here, the bottle is in french. I'm hoping I've understood it correctly, if not, foam party at mine in 1 hour! Xmas Grin

PoppyAmex · 02/12/2012 13:33

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Lovely dinky bottle, very user friendly. I usually use Ecover and hate the fact that when you measure it half the product stays in the lid and everything gets gunky. Thought I'd have to buy a few bottles at a time, because 25 washes wouldn't last long in this house, but just checked and the refill does x85 washes, so I'm happy with that.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
The fragrance (Fresh Air)

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I use a lot of Method products and love the fragrances (in fact, I'd sacrifice some cleaning power and price just for yummy smells) so was really looking forward to having lovely scented clothes. Was very disappointed with the Fresh Air fragrance, it just smelled "wrong" somehow - bit chemical, almost "pukey" smell Blush. On the flipside, it's very mild and DH thought it smells great, so I guess it's a very personal thing.

Cleaning power: Really impressive. I did a 40C white load of baby clothes (pee ridden and food stained from Weaning) and it came out immaculate. It also got rid of tomato stains with no pre-treatment. DH's sports clothes also came out clean and soft.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes I would. It's eco-friendly, very practical, there's no waste of product and very effective. I would however prefer to try a different scent and might buy Peony next time.

PoppyAmex · 02/12/2012 13:34

PS: Sorry to derail but just saw Method are doing a Christmas washing up liquid with Fir scent!

Xmas loveliness

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2012 13:56

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? Really liked it, far less messy than scooping powder or measuring out liquid. Takes up less room in the cupboard.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? No, although I agree the price may be prohibitive.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? Thought the fragrance was lovely, and not overpowering. It cleaned football shirts no problem, and dealt with food stains.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? Yes I would recommend to friends.

FIFIBEBE · 02/12/2012 13:57

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Loved the size of it, my undersink cupboard is bursting with cleaning products so it was nice to have something compact.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Perhaps more sizes, even double that sizepack would be compact in my opinion

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Very chemical, which I don't mind. Have done 4 washes so far and the dry clothes smell clean rather than "summer meadow" or whatever. cleaning power seems fine, have done a mixed coloured load and a white load. Not really too dirty so didn't really put it to the test.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes I would recommend. At the end of the day it is just another cleaning product, but it is quirky and does the job.

pithy · 02/12/2012 13:58

Q1 Overall impression.

Liked the neat, compact pump. Product cuts down on waste due to fewer spillages. More convenient than liquid pouches which are wasteful on light loads - a single squirt is enough for delicates which have to be washed separately.
Q2 Anything you would change?
The price. Too expensive for me.
Q3 Opinion on fragrance and cleaning.
Liked the fragrance. I left some clothes airing in one room of the house, it smelled lovely on return. Was pleasantly surprised with cleaning power. I cold wash a lot of items which are "dry clean only." On the advice of dry cleaner owner friend. Did this with black, designer, trousers and they were fine. Zero residue etc.
Q4 Would you recommend the product?
Yes. It is very easy to use when in a hurry, and has warm, floral top note fragrance on dry clothes.

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2012 13:59

Poppy if I go out and spend £3 on washing up liquid it will be all your fault. Grin
