I have received mine and first washing on! :)

Vixjax · 02/12/2012 02:32

Found method very good, clothes nice and clean, fragrance fine. Appearance of bottle ok- nothing outstanding as it is so concentrated bottle seems small to cover 25 washes and expensive at £6. Perfectly happy with it but nothing particularly special about the product, wouldn't not recommend but wouldn't go out if my way go recommend it.

HilaryM · 02/12/2012 07:37

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I loved the pump. It is quite powerful though, I slightly misfired the first time! I would prefer a squarer bottle for storage purposes, although overall it is very compact.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Bigger bottle perhaps (ie two sizes) and easy refills. Squarer bottle.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Loved the smell. Really nice. Cleaning power good. Not better than my current own brand tablets but perfectly adequate.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I think I would, especially if eco is a priority. I would say it's compact, fun to use (!), refillable, with a lovely fragrance, and much gentler on the environment.

Thanks for the opportunity to try it. I'll be honest and say that the price puts me off, but I do love Method products and use them if I can ie usually when Ocado have them on 3 for 2 or special offer. If this was on offer from time to time I'd stock up then.

Sheepasaurus · 02/12/2012 07:40

Does anyone know if the little polystyrene
nuggety things it was packaged in can be recycled? I am hoping yes.

AWeeBitConfused · 02/12/2012 07:43

Just started my first wash will be along later to give feedback.

meep · 02/12/2012 08:07

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I like the bottle - that it is small and doesn't take up too much room in the cupboard.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
make it a bit less expensive!

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Have used it for 2 washes so far and the smell is nice and not too overpowering. I used an extra pump in a white wash and it has shifted the grime from the cuffs of dd1's school shirts.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I have recommended the all purpose cleaning spray and wood floor cleaners to friends. I wouldn't not recommend this, but there is nothing really outstanding to recommend it above others and it is pricey!

SoupDragon · 02/12/2012 08:27

Sheepasaurus They aren't polystyrene. They are something lie maize - DD spent well over an hour with the box and a damp sponge sticking them together :o Best bit of the trial so far in the Dragon house! They are compostable/biodegradable or will dissolve in water (I think)

SoupDragon · 02/12/2012 08:28

Rugby today Lots of muddy kit to test it on :o

maxybrown · 02/12/2012 08:42

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Love the size, that I don't have to think about storage, and the fantastic no waste method (ha) of just pumping it straigt in - also no risk of detergent on your hands. It coped well with the washing - I feel I can comment on this already as we have had sickness bugs galore in our house so it has had a lot to battle against and everything has come out clean and fresh smelling - even without my usual fabric softner. I must admit I did wonder how it would cope as I squirted it in as it looks like nothing!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

I think the only thing for me would be the price - all my other cleaning products, multi spray,, bathroom cleaner, polish and floor cleaner are all method and we love them - I used them first at work where I clean and now both me and my Mum use them too and they last and last too (or maybe I'm a slatten!) So the only reason I haven't bought it before has been the price - though I do think that were I to win the voucher I would use some of it to stock up on these for a while! (no, that is true honest)

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Smelt fresh as most Method proucts too but again as usual for Method - nothing smells overly harsh or chemically, I didn't feel dubious of it or that we would end up smelling all chemically. Though there are other method proucts I prefer the smell of! AS mentioned it seemed to clean great with all the sickness bugs in our house - going to wash DH's shirts later with it!

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would reccomend it yes, but of course would mention the price. I think the simplicity of it is a huge selling point - that and it does the job too! As most things like this can often just be gimmicky - I do not find Method so, it is in a league of it's own really. I think it might prompt my Mum to give it a go buying it now though - will give her a lend of it first!

madbutnotbad · 02/12/2012 08:44

1, I really liked the small size of the bottle however mine was rather tricky to get the actual product out. When I was doing my second wash with the product the first squirt came out no problem but after that the squirts (?) were just dribbling a little bit out so I have no idea really how much I ended up using! However I am sure that this is probably just a one off and wouldn't stop me using the product in future.
2, As other testers have said the only thing that I would change would be the price. As a family we are on a very tight income and this would stop me using the washing product at the full price.
3, I wasn't keen on the fragrance when I put it in the dispenser I felt it smelt very manufactured and rather stronger than my usual product however once the washing was washed and dried I found the smell much more acceptable. I was very happy with the cleaning power of the product - I didn't find it any better than my usual washing powder but it was as good as it which I admit I wasn't expecting. School shirts from a messy Reception class girl came up clean!
4, I am not sure that this would come up in conversation with my friends but I will certainly be telling my mum how good the product was as she knows that I am testing it!

Overall I liked the product but sadly think the price will be a stumbling block that will stop us using it on a regular basis.

toffeefee · 02/12/2012 08:45

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Neat little bottle that is easy to store away. Bit fiddly to get the stuff in the draw.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Cheaper price! Lovely stuff, but the price point is too high for what you get. After all, it is only to clean your clothes and there are many many products on the market for that!!

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Gorgeous fragrance, my washing still smells lovely even after ironing. Cleaning power so far stands up to my usual powder.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would recommend in terms of performance and scent, but warn of the higher price.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/12/2012 08:45

Rugby? How lovely! Good test on those muddy polo sort of tops they wear Smile

SoupDragon · 02/12/2012 08:49

Lesbeadiva · 02/12/2012 09:11

It's £6??? I don't know if I would pay that for 25 washes.

womblingalong · 02/12/2012 09:16

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Nice convenient pack, and no mess, so really good. Cleans well, and like the fact that it is mainly plant based. There is a refill, which is good, but due to the price would only buy on offer.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
The pump dispenser can come off/ be thickly to get a full pump out of.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Liked the fragrance, because it was not overpowering or overtly floral. Clothes smelt really clean. Clothes came out as clean as my normal detergent. Worked well on a black wash and whites.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend as Eco friendly and compact.

statusquo · 02/12/2012 09:21

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Compact and easy to use
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Tricky to use, the pumping mechanism, might be better to have a easier dispensible top
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance was ok and i use on school whites and it was absolutely brilliant the cuffs and collars very clean

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? Yes, will do ,would say , should try it, its really good

MulledTurkey · 02/12/2012 09:29

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? I really like the size and design of the bottle, it's dinky! Fits easily into my already overcrowded cleaning cupboard
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? I was surprised at the cost, too expensive for me
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? the fragrance is lovely, I did a fairly lightly soiled wash which smelt beautiful and felt soft too which surprised me. The heavier soiled wash also came out perfectly clean this had included dinner covered clothes and muddy stuff
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, I would use again and recommend because it works, smells lovely and seems to last well. The only downside is the cost unfortunately

shrimponastick · 02/12/2012 09:57

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I was surprised at the small size. I was expecting a huge, heavy parcel from the postman. I stuck to the amount of pumps prescribed, and it worked fine. I squirted it straight in to the drum on top of the laundry.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

I think the price would be put me off using it on a regular basis. Even though I know I should use the 'eco' ranges, they are always more pricey. Other than that - no.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I am used to no fragrance at all with my regular powder (and I don't use softener as i don't like the artificial fragrance). However this left a light scent on the damp clothes, when they were dry it was barely discernible, which is fine with me. They just smelt fresh. We don't have littlies here, just sweaty DH and teen DS. Their shirts smell very clean. I will bje able to tell when I iron them actually. Am impressed with the small amount required to wash a full load.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

yes, I would recommend it. I would say that I like the compact size of the container, who needs great big boxes of powder cluttering up the cupboards? I don't know how mnay of my friends/family would be wiling to pay £6 though for it. They put cost before eco friendliness unfortunately.

hermancakedestroyer · 02/12/2012 10:03

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I would say firstly that I love the design of the pump. What a great idea and takes up a lot less space in my kitchen. It was so easy to use as well simply pumping the liquid straight into the drum. I also love the idea that it is good for the environment - having a family we get through a lot of washing and to know you are doing your bit for the environment is great.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
At this time of year my children come home covered in muddy clothes and I found a lot of the clothes that I washed with this liquid had to be pre-treated with a squirt of method laundry liquid to enable them to come up to standard. Therefore I would intensify the strength of the liquid.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I loved the fragrance - the clothes smelt really fresh whilst drying. I would personally make the fragrance a bit stronger. As mentioned in the question above I would intensify the strength of the liquid to be able to cope with children's clothing inparticular.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
With a few tweaks in the manufacture of this liquid ie increasing the strength and therefore cleaning power of this liquid and increasing the strength of the fragrance I would happily recommend Method laundry liquid to a friend / relative. The absolute positives for me are the fabulous design of this product and its environmentally friendly ingredients.

Really enjoyed testing this product

roguepixie · 02/12/2012 10:29

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I thought it was much smaller than I expected but liked the design - the shape and colours used.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

The price. My usual brand works out much cheaper.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I liked the fragrance - it was light and not at all artificial. I was sceptical of the cleaning power - I live in a hard water area and was prepared for it to fail ... it didn't. It cleaned really well. I did whites and colours washes and all came out clean.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Definitely would recommend to friends/relatives. It works, smells nice and is kind to the environment. It also looks nice and takes up much less room than the usual bottles/cartons of washing powder/liquid.

SoupDragon · 02/12/2012 10:32

Looking on the Ocado app, there is a refill pouch - 85 washes for £14. I hope the pouch is fully leak proof when sealed as it clearly won't fit in one bottle!

SoupDragon · 02/12/2012 10:35

Interestingly, the 85 wash refill works out at 16.5p per wash. Waitrose 30 wash powder works out at 18.3p

Sheepasaurus · 02/12/2012 10:36

Thanks soupdragon. They do indeed disolve
:)

countingdown · 02/12/2012 10:39

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I really like the size of it, and the fact there is no mess or waste.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I'd like it to smell a bit stronger.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I'd like it to be stronger smelling. So far, no complaints about the cleaning power.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes, I would. Although, I have no idea how much this would cost to buy, so that may put me off.
