Only just got mine this afternoon. :-) does anyone know if it's non-bio? (it's all in bloomin French) if it's not dh will be doing his own washing Grin

klm1702 · 01/12/2012 16:33

Just received yesterday so will post feedback in the next few days :-)

klm1702 · 01/12/2012 16:34

I think the blue bottles are non bio but could be wrong!

justaweeone · 01/12/2012 16:36

1/ liked the packaging, product very easy to store as so small
2/ I would like a refill option
3/ smells nice and cleaned well, even the dogs bed
4/ yes would tell people about it esp if they have a septic tank and they did not want to use to my chemical based products

klm1702 · 01/12/2012 16:38

Checked the website and read through the list of ingredients, although it doesn't specify bio/non bio it does state against each of the ingredients "non irritant to skin" so hoping that's non bio equivalent!

WhatWouldGrandmaDo · 01/12/2012 16:42

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Really liked it - the bottle is small, it's very easy to use and the results seem to be good too.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
As others have said, the price - I do about 6 loads a week and our water is very hard so this wouldn't last us a month, I don't think. If the water here was soft I guess it'd be better value.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I really liked the fragrance - normally I prefer fragrance free as many of the fragrances in other products are really artificial and unpleasant but this was nice and fresh. As I'm drying stuff indoors at this time of year that's quite important right now!
I was also pleasantly surprised by the cleaning power - DS1's white school shirts can be a bit challenging but they came out well and DS2's efforts with the tomato soup on his top didn't defeat it either. So all round I was impressed.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes, definitely. My mum was there when the product arrived and she was extremely sceptical about 'eco cleaning products' in general but I think she may have to eat her words in this case. I'd say it's definitely something worth considering if you want to reduce your impact on the environment.
I'm no longer using cloth nappies (DS2 toilet trained!) but I'm not sure if this would be suitable to use with them - I thought powder was recommended over liquitabs etc to avoid build up. So if a cloth user asked me about it I'd not be too sure if it was suitable.

Cardea · 01/12/2012 16:43

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Great size, like the pump as less messy than pouring into the lid as I always manage to get drips down the edge of the bottle, and I drop powder on the floor.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I don't think so.
I did wonder about the price but the refill is much better value per wash (around 16p)and I suppose the pump costs more money to produce than a box, and actually it compares well to Fairy at full price.. however, I tend to buy my washing powder in bulk when it's offer, so it is a bit more per wash than I'd usually spend.. but not a huge amount more. I do buy Method cleaning products as they compare reasonably price wise with most branded cleaners, work well and don't have as many harsh chemicals.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I like the fragrance, and I like that you can get a non-fragrance version as well. The cleaning power is OK - has coped with all the muddy PE kit but hasn't got out whatever they put into the pasta sauce at school from the white shirts, but to be fair not much does!
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes, I would recommend, if it came up in conversation (!). Good points are size, less mess, fewer harsh chemicals, nice smell plus non smelly option.

MerryMarigold · 01/12/2012 16:47

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
It's fantastic - so compact. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I'd make more of it being natural

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance really lovely. Not too perfumey, just very fresh. No need for fab con (mostly I don't use it anyway). As for cleaning power, not used on whites yet!!! The real test will be the clothes I normally wash in biological.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would say price is v competitive, it's very small to store, smells amazing, and is fine for sensitive skin so I can wash all our clothes in it (usually wash kids clothes separately). Great for everyone in the family.

I'll post more on power later when I've tried it on dh's cycling clothes (very sweaty) and kids school shirts.

MirandaWest · 01/12/2012 16:51

Found mine On the back doorstep last night having been away. Will test it tomorrow (much washing to be done Grin)

MerryMarigold · 01/12/2012 16:56

"It says 95% plant based, biodegradable formula with no harsh chemicals" so am assuming non bio. Ds1 gets eczema with lots of non bio's so am going to see how this performs on him.

MNHQ - whats going to happen when this thread hit 1000 messages???

Love the bottle - 25 washes and it fits in the cupboard - which is a very good job, as the pump is totally un toddler proof - they would get it out in a jiffy (my 18 month old knows how to get his cream out of a pump bottle) Any way to put a lock on the pump mechanism?

The PO (thanks to whoever said they had a spotty box) also loved it - I went to pick it up from the PO, and mentioned if it was what I thought, it was in a spotty box. They requested all customers were as helpful as us!

Washing - will leave DH to deal with that over the week (I'm travelling), and get his thoughts.

How much is it? And would a refill for the bottle be available?

BobblyGussets · 01/12/2012 17:00

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Nice and Neat.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

No: it's is nice a pared down, so nothing "bad" to take away. it would be nice if it was a bit cheaper though.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

The fragrance is nice. Not too strong. I think I received the fresh air one.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes I would. I have a friend who likes eco/organic products. We both like this sort of thing and often exchange bottles of organic shampoo, mild suncream etc.

gremlinmum · 01/12/2012 17:04

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? Amazed I couldn't believe you can get 25 washes from this small bottle. It's great that it doesn't take up much room and very easy to use
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? I believe that it is quite expensive and I don't think I would buy it (lost my job) unless it was significantly cheaper
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I liked the fragrance and it washes as good as my usual soap powder tabs
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? I would say to give it a try :)

BobblyGussets · 01/12/2012 17:11

oOOps: cleaning power good. I used it on my white 600 thread count cotton bedding and it looks fine. Nowt wrong with it.

JulesJules · 01/12/2012 17:59

Was relieved to get the email with the translation - was a bit thrown to start with by the French packaging!

Looking online from the link in the OP I see that this bottle retails at £4.99 so approx 20p per wash, and the refill pack is £14 for 85 washes, so approx 16.5p per wash.

I love the look of the bottle, it's dinky. I like the idea of having less to carry home from the supermarket, and that it will take up a lot less space in the cupboard, but having said that I would buy a bigger size if available.

I liked the smell of the liquid (I got the "fresh air" one. I would try the others - "peony" and I like the fact it's also available in an unscented version)

Very easy to use. I've only done one wash with it so far, came out clean, soft and smelling nice - fresh and not too perfumed.

Will report back when I've done sheets, towels, sports kit etc.

The only reservation I have about buying it so far is that the Miele man told me liquid washes aren't good for your machine and it's better to use powder.

Filmbuffmum · 01/12/2012 18:03

Just finished first two loads:

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
As others have said, the pump design is excellent- I usually use Ecover, and refill the large bottles at a local shop. I have had the same laundry detergent and washing up liquid bottles for over 5 years, so would prefer a similar refilling option as I like the idea of having 'saved' several hundred plastic bottles! However the refilling process and use of the actual bottles for Ecover is messy, and I like the pump.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I don't think 25 washes is large enough- so even though the bottle is quite a nice compact size, I would prefer something larger (would get through this in a couple of weeks).
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I really like the fragrance- a bit stronger than Ecover, but not unpleasant (and I have hever used any other detergents or any fabric conditioners because the perfume irritates my skin)- this seems fine.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
It is quite expensive, but I would probably recommend. As someone else said, the tub scrub is amazing (and I love the design of that bottle)- I also like the shower spray and clementine cleaner, so already a pretty frequent user. Still not sure about this, as I do like refilling my existing bottles!

JulesJules · 01/12/2012 18:06

Oops, 24p a wash, approx.for the 25 washes size. Misread the price!

mumblechum1 · 01/12/2012 18:06

Q1 Like the pump design. They really do need to do a refill pouch.
Q2. No, not really
Q3. I like the smell.
Q4. Yes, because it's a dinky design so you don't waste any liquid and smells nice.

MaureenMLove · 01/12/2012 18:07

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? I was a bit dubious that just 4-6 squirts would be enough to clean laundry
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? less packaging! It took me ages to pull the wrapper off!
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? Fragrance was lovely. Really different from the usual highly fragranced products on the market
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? Yes. I would tell them the fragrance is light, but fresh and clean smelling. That it comes in a small bottle that can be much more easily stored away and that the cleaning power is very good.

lubeybooby · 01/12/2012 18:14

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I liked the look of the bottle, nice design and compact. and was really intrigued to see if it would have the cleaning power.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Nothing, although maybe the price as it isn't really comparable to my usual brand. I would be happy to pay a little more but £6 for 25 washes works out quite a lot more for me.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I love the fragrance, subtle and really clean smelling, and the cleaning power has been really good on two loads of washing so far, both with food stains that have come off no problem.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would yes because it's so compact and looks great as well as working well.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 01/12/2012 18:27

just back from a few days away - this was waiting for me when I got home. Will wash my holiday clothes in it to try and then get cracking on the rest of the laundry. Grin

Dontbesodramatic · 01/12/2012 18:31

Mine arrived today! First wash is in.
I have to say, for such a small bottle it was very heavily packed.Quite a large box with lots and lots of polystyreneHmm

PurpleKittyKnitting · 01/12/2012 18:56

Mine arrived today, first wash will be done tomorrow with it!

lubeybooby · 01/12/2012 18:59

Just to add further, I'm now wearing a dressing gown I washed in it, and it smells really clean and fresh like it's been line dried outside, when actually I dried it in the tumble drier... so I'm now thinking the 'fresh air' scent is entirely correct, that's the effect it achieves!

Bicnod · 01/12/2012 19:07

Marking place - arrived today and first load in tumbler...
