Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
it is fantastic, and have done 3 laundries already. my 5 year old daughter was able to help without spilling it all on the floor. thanks to the cute squirt pump and remarkable small bottle for her little hands to hold.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
not really, as it smells nice and not too strong. just the price tag as its much more pricey compared to other competitive brands

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
the fragrance was just right and the cleaning power was okay. the clothes washed well just the collar of the white school shirts were left not so white which is more the material than the laundry liquid i think

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
i will definately recommend method as it washes well, the fragrance is just right and the packaging is really cute. also, my daughter has sensitive skin and has reacted to every product out there apart from surcare and i must say method has been very mild on her skin and no reactions yet. thanks to method smart packaging my daughter can now help with our washing. although the price is quite steep compared to the other brands out there and that will be mentioned as well.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Thought, how can something so small be so powerful!! How wrong could I be, I have a 3 year old and it has tackled the toughest of cleaning. Love how it is dispensed, so quick and easy

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Only the price

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I liked the smell but did use a fabric softener as well, cleaning power was excellent

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not?

I would recommend but price could be an issue

mum2jakie · 17/12/2012 22:38

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I liked the simple and practical design of the bottle. I found the liquid format really easy to dispense using the pump and there was no mess or waste. I found the amount dispensed to be easy to control and to add extra when needed. The only drawback to this format is that I would prefer a larger size to accommodate the laundry produced by my family of five!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

It does work out quite expensive, even though I'm used to paying premium prices for Fairy non-bio (powder or gel.) I would also prefer the option of a larger sized bottle as I generally stock upon laundry products once a month rather than buying them more frequently.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

The fragrance was almost non-existent. I don't mind this in some ways as both I and my free boys have sensitive skin and are prone to eczema, so am grateful for products where added perfumes are kept to a minimum. To be a little contradictory, however, it is nice to smell something indicating freshly washed clothing so I would probably choose the other fragrance (Peony? I think?) rather than the Fresh Air scent that I used.

I had no issues at all with the cleaning power and found that the liquid cleaned equally as effectively as my usual Fairy non-bio, even on my boys' mucky school clothing and toddler's food-stained tops.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I am a fan of Method products from previous experiences and have previously recommended them both face-to-face and online. I love the ethics of the brand and their eco-friendly status so would recommend this on that basis. I would prefer a slighlty more distinctive fragrance but certainly found the cleaning performance to be as good as my usual brand of non-bio so, on that basis, I would recommend this.

Thanks to Method and Mumsnet for the opportunity to try this xx

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Quite easy to use but was a bit worried about liquid leaking out if it fell over in cupboard etc.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Maybe the smell - prefer something unscented.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I didn't really like the smell - it wasn't unpleasant just prefer unscented. Was quite impressed with the cleaning power - removed a lot of dirt and mud from school uniform and sports stuff.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not?

Yes probably as an alternative to more chemical products but there are also other eco liquids not as expensive.

justshootmenow · 17/12/2012 23:56

Err I've run out now!
Sick kids and grubby hubby!

LightHousekeeping · 18/12/2012 00:42

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? I loved the size of it and how it was easy to hold. No mess!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? Nothing at all

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I thought it cleaned really well. The fragrance was subtle in fact, possibly too subtle.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? Yes I would especially if it came in a bigger size.

LeoandBoosmum · 18/12/2012 00:46

Not in the tester team but I've used this for a while (18 wash, I think). I use the fragrance free one (did try a blue one once and it was way too strong but I am sensitive to smells tbh). I find it works well and get clothes really clean.

ImInLoveWithAGermanPornStar · 18/12/2012 04:37

Q1. It's an attractively designed product and pleasingly small.
Q2. A little pricey, you'd have to catch me on a good day for me to buy it.
Q3. Love the fragrance. Reminds me of a camping trip in with my parents in France during the early 80's. Cleaning power seems to be as good as my regular powder, which I hadn't expected.
Q4. I would recommend it. It's a great product, will also be trying other Method products now too.

gelo · 18/12/2012 10:31

Having used more of this the smell has grown on me - I'm using fewer squirts so it's less strong which possibly helps, though it may just be that I've got used to it. The other major benefit that the dispensing system has is it is simple enough that dh can manage it - with normal powders or liquids (unless in tablet/liquitab form) he always chucks far too much in!

gabby1204 · 18/12/2012 11:52

First impression.-very good.like the bottle size, the pump-makes it very easy than normal ones.i like the smell too.havem't had too spotty clothes but my daughter will take care of the spotes soon and i'll try it for heavy spotes.i would def recommed it.thanx

TapirAroundTheChristmasTree · 18/12/2012 12:26

(Have posted previously)

My bottle has finally run out, and dh is insisting that we buy more. I have pointed out that it is twice the price of our normal soap powder, but he's in love with this stuff - and I don't blame him.

It's excellent, leaves everything so much softer, and works brilliantly.

HouseOfTinsel · 18/12/2012 13:11

The smell has grown on me too - I guess you do get desensitised to a certain extent, but it actually smells pleasant rather than overpowering, which it did to start with. Confusing!

Still finding it very effective and easy to use.

Tangfasticsanta · 18/12/2012 13:30

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Loved the compact bottle and pump dispenser.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
See Q3

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I thought the fragrance was ok, but I prefer the stronger smell of my normal brand. I found the cleaning power inadequate for my family needs. I have two teenagers and the washing liquid failed to remove the sweat residue from the armpits of my sons school shirts or the make up residue from my daughters shirts.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not.
I wouldn't recommend Method laundry liquid as I didn't find it to be a very effective product.

renaldo · 18/12/2012 13:39

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

neat and easy to use/store

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

noce.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

nice and pretty good.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

yes

MillyMollyMardy · 18/12/2012 13:46

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I loved the fact that it's so small, I was initially dubious that it would clean as well as my regular detergent, I was proved wrong.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
The price it is quite expensive although the refill makes it more competitive.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I liked the subtle smell and it cleans effectively.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would recommend it, I would say that it's very small but is effective and once you have got over the mindset that you need lots of detergent it's great. I use Method cleaners in the house I had just not tried the laundry liquid.

trice · 18/12/2012 13:59

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I liked the size and the design of the packaging. It smelled nice and I liked the green credentials.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I think there was too much packaging and the pump was hard to aim into my washing machine drawer. I kept squirting it on the floor.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I liked the smell. I thought the cleaning power was about equal to my normal ecover product. It definitely didn't clean as thoroughly as a bio powder would have.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not.
I would not recommend it. I think ecover is a better product, smells nicer, less packaging. I think it is OK but I would not buy it again.
I love the method lavender multi surface cleaner though, I am constantly telling people about that stuff.

TamasinR · 18/12/2012 14:25

i like the bottle and it's very easy to use, even my other half thinks so and it stops the drawer clogging up.
I like the smell though i would like to try the other one too. It is pricey but the pump system helps with not using more than is needed.
I would also appreciate a refill and possibly a larger bottle as we got through it quite fast.
I would recommend it to friends with a slight reservation about cost. but i think the product itself is great.
i have used some of the other environmentally friendly cleaners and i think this compares well particularly because of the pump.

mugoftea · 18/12/2012 14:36

Q1 - Really liked the pump, no drips or having to mess about with pouring liquid into lids
Q2 - price is more expensive than I would normally spend, I usually buy whatever is on special offer, but will look at the refill costs next time I go to the supermarket, although it has lasted a long time I didn't think it would last for 25?washes but it has.
Q3 - liked the smell and removed any stains on our clothes
Q4 - yes I would

LiveItUp · 18/12/2012 14:42

Just checking back in although I posted ages ago up thread. But I have become quite addicted to using this. I'm loving the whole ease of use, the pump, the gentle smell, how clean things come out. I'm dreading the last pump which I think is fast approaching - have been reducing number of squirts to eek it out a bit longer. I will def be looking out for refill packets to fill the bottle up and keep using the product - just maybe when they are on some sort of offer as, like so many of us, I am having to watch all the pennies at the moment.

Thanks Method - a great product in a great package.

MrsKwaziipanFruits · 18/12/2012 15:15

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? Nice and compact, takes up a lot less space on my laundry worktop than the big box of washing powder. Like the ecological bent to it, and think the packaging and label look good. Pump was easy and clean to use - no waste.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? Perhaps have it come in a bigger size too? That may defeat some of the 'small but mighty' selling point I suppose though. I do at least one wash load a day though, so prefer larger amounts.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? My clothes were all clean, the fragrance was subtle and I liked that it wasn't overpowering.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? Yes, I'd recommend it as an effective and ecological product. It would depend on price though, as Method products can be on the expensive side.

MissClaire1 · 18/12/2012 15:29

The instructions were in a foreign language so I really struggled to work out how to dispense the liquid and I got it all over my hands. My friend also had a go but struggled as much as I did.

However washing does smell lovely, only washed on a dark wash as I was worried it wouldnt clean my clothes as well on a white wash but confident to try it again.

And the bottle looks really lovely (despite not being that useable) so much nicer than the usual washing powders.

Indith · 18/12/2012 16:02

MissClaire check your e-mails, Method cocked up and sent them with French instructions but MN sent out an e-mail explaining that and providing a translation.

COCKadoodledooo · 18/12/2012 17:09

Hoorah! Mine arrived this afternoon. Thanks Helen Xmas Grin Am glad it took this long to arrive though because the instructions on mine are in English!

First impressions? I opened the mahoosive great box, pulled out the bottle and ds1 said "is that it?!". Mind you, he's grateful for all the wee polystyrene nuggets because they'll be great snow for his Santa-stuck-in-the-chimney Christmas hat.
Pump is great, but with a curious toddler around a lockable one would be better. Like the smell too.
First load is in, will be back later with results..

mtp18 · 18/12/2012 17:23

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
The bottle seemed very compact and really seemed not a lot of liquid in the pumps.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Maybe a different range of fragrance.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Felt very clean and did the job of removing stained baby clothes.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I'd certainly recommend it. Environmentally seems better value, also as you use less works out cheaper and is just as good as other washing products.

chekka · 18/12/2012 18:33

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I really liked it. I liked it's compact size, the smell, and the results. THere's no residue of soap left in the drawer and the pump is accurate enough to prevent spillages.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
lower price
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I liked the fragrance. It was pleasant and fresh smelling without being overpowerling. I could smell it on the clothes when hung in wardrobes. I deliberately didnt use fabric conditioner so as to test the scent properly
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would recommend it. I'd say it did a great job and was a great size.
