Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Easty to use, and easy to store. The pump made it easy to not over-use the liquid, which I liked.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
It is quite expensive compared to my usual brand. Had a quick look at the refil pouches online - are they bigger than the pump dispenser? This would cancel in some of benefits of the neatness of the pump dispenser for me.

Not especailly related to this product in particular, but our local supermarkets in the NW can be a bit hit-and-miss about stocking Method products.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I liked the fragrance. Cleaning power seemed excellent - have washed football kits, bedding, towels, things covered in food, and the liquid has coped with them all.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I might if I knew that they were especially keen on eco products, but as a general topic, as others have said, it's not one that comes up a lot!

emmaoll · 17/12/2012 15:16

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Really liked the small pump and the fact you can refill and reuse the same pump once its run out. Plus my daughter liked helping me put the liquid in the machine and pumping it in, and it was great that half of it didn't end up on the floor as it normally does with our regular liquid or powder!
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Only the price as it is more expensive than other detergents and it doesn't seem to ever be on offer.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I really liked the smell, as found it simple and fresh. The cleaning power was good on a normal load, but I did find that it didn't remove some of the stains from my daughters nursery clothes. I had to add a pretreating stain remover to the load for those items.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would recommend it as I have liked the smell of the laundry afterwards, and I think with any detergent i would end up having to treat some stains. Its also helped my overly sensitive pregnant skin and has meant I'm not quite so itchy!

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Good looking product -so small for 25 washes.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

No

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Cleaning power seemed good - fragrance not v strong

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would recommend it but would probasblt onmly buy it if on special offer as I rend to buy whatever is cheapest depending on the offers available when I need more. I would consider it for taking on self-catering holiday though as so small.

Leafmould · 17/12/2012 15:36

My dd is NOT sensitive to this product! Hurray! I Would REALLY like to know more about the enzymes used in this product, and how they differ from other enzymes in other products that my dd is sensitive to.

I wish washing products had specific ingredients lists in, like food products. How am I supposed to know whether x product with enzymes in will be different from y product with enzymes in?

sybilfaulty · 17/12/2012 15:38

Q1 - I liked how the product looked and I especially liked pumping it straight into the drum. No fannying around trying to find the top of the bottle to pour it in and then missing and getting it over the carpet.

Q2 There isn't anything I'd change about it. Am seriously impressed that a bottle so small can do 25 washes. I would definitely buy it, price permitting.

Q3 I loved the fragrance and thought the cleaning power was up there with all the chemical ones I'd bought.

Q4 I would recommend it as it's compact and smells great. Lasts well and does a good job. Can't fault it really.

Thanks for the opportunity to test.

Salt14 · 17/12/2012 15:53

Q1: love the dispenser, easy to use, quick, clean & compact
Q2: I'd like to see a way of sealing the pump so I can store in cupboard (where stuff seems to get piled on top) & for child safety, maybe twist like hand soap dispensers?
Q3: I normally like strong smelling washing powders/liquid but this smelt too artificial, yuck. Luckily fragrance less overpowering on clothes once washed but then seemed no fragrance at all. Cleaning power seemed good but same as my usual products (whatever's on offer) Big selling point for me is the ease if use but wouldn't necessarily pay extra for that alone as is expensive
Q4: I would recommend based on compact size & ease of use

RedBerryJoyTown · 17/12/2012 16:15

Q1 I really liked the pump. I found it very easy to use.
Q2. Not much I would change, maybe price.
Q3. The fragrance was ok. I don't like strong smelling detergents so I liked that it didn't have a strong fragrance. But I found the smell a bit chemically and would have liked a more floral or powdery smell. It washed normally soiled clothes ok.
Q4. I would recommend it due to size and ease of use.

mymar · 17/12/2012 16:25

Q1 I really liked the dispenser, easy to use with no mess and measured so no need to worry about putting in too much/too little

Q2 I think the design could be a bit more jazzier. Not sure if there is anything else I would change
Q3 I didn't mind the fragrance, thought it was okay for the man in the house not too flowery or scenty. I used it in the machine and also on a particularly bad stain and it did what I expected and was on par with my normal soap power
Q4 If asked i would recommend it but say it was a bit pricey.

mrsjohndeere1971 · 17/12/2012 16:27

Very impressed with the size of the bottle - very compact. Very easy to use pump and less messy than usual powder/liquid. Liked the smell and cleaned the clothes really well (I live on a farm and we get very dirty oily clothing!) I think it maybe would be quite pricey but I would be prepared to pay for the quality of the cleaning. I would definitely recommend it due to the small space it takes up in my cupboard and its cleaning!

internationalmum · 17/12/2012 16:28

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Love the compact size - even smaller than the "small and mighty" types. Easy to use the pump, which is a nice change from the open and pour liquids and requires less packaging and thus less waste(!). A tad confused on how much I was meant to use as the email that followed the delivery said two pumps (I'm pretty sure) but the French instructions indicated four. Tried it both ways and both seemed okay though! :)

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I do like method products as I think they are more eco-friendly than much of what's in the market, but with that generally comes a more premium price. I understand that the two tend to go hand-in-hand, but I think in order to really make an impact by being eco-conscious this has to be available to a larger portion of the population. As a mum, I try to save everywhere I can and even and extra £1, for example, spent on laundry detergent adds up quickly.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
The fragrance was pleasant - it had a hint of fragrance to let you know the clothes had been cleaned, but was not overpowering. And I didn't seem to be allergic to it, which is a bonus as I tend to be allergic to many laundry detergents! As I mentioned above, I was a bit confused on how much to use (2 vs 4 pumps), but the clothes seemed to come out clean!

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? I probably would recommend method to a friend. The biggest selling points for me are the reduction in packaging and the reduction in the amount of space it takes up in my cupboard as well as the ease of use of the pump. Just pump it straight into the drawer and send the laundry on its way!

M22kids · 17/12/2012 16:34

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Love the compact bottle size; not sure it would do 25 washes, especially with such hard water. Would love it to be cheaper so that it could be our regular laundry liquid.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

The price! It would need to be cheaper for me to buy it regularly.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Wasn't sure about the fragrance at first (just smelling it from the bottle) but loved the smell of the washed clothes. Re: cleaning power, clothes seemed clean enough but I did worry whether it would be strong enough, so would use six pumps for extra big or extra mucky loads.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes, would recommend. I do find it expensive but a very good, skin- and planet-friendly option.

M22kids · 17/12/2012 16:37

Also liked the ease and tidiness of pumping straight into the dispenser. No more sweeping up powder from the kitchen floor...

revellgirl · 17/12/2012 16:38

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? I was really impressed with the small size of the bottle and the design, it's really easy to use.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? I haven't checked out how much it is but I suspect it is a pricier option than the supermarket own brands I normally buy. I would have to think carefully about whether it is worth paying a premium for.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I have been pleasantly surprised with both the fragrance and the cleaning power. Other Eco friendly brands I have tried have been no good at removing stains and have smelt fairly insipid but this seems good at shifting everyday food stains and also smells fresh and clean.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? I would definitely recommend it, especially for ease of use and the compact bottle. But again, price is an important factor so I would have to think carefully whether to make it my preferred brand.

Iph · 17/12/2012 16:45
  1. Loved the look and size of the pump. Super quick and easy to use.
  1. No surprise, the price! It's far more than I would usually spend on washing powder or liquid and even though I love the idea of Method products, price wins out of necessity at the moment.
  1. The fragrance was fresh and clean and not overpowering, liked a lot. Cleaning power good, although not enough to deal with breast-fed poo stained vests - haven't tried it as a soak/prewash yet though.
  1. I would recommend it to someone specifically looking for a more natural product.
sandysmum · 17/12/2012 18:06
  1. I really liked the size and shape of the bottle. It has been a lot less messy than other liquids and powders.
  1. I believe it is too pricey in comparison to the equivalent brands on the market which I have found to be more efficient.
  1. I found the fragrance to be pleasant however I prefer the scents of Ariel and Persil. When I washed my husband's work clothes (he is a farmer) they still smelt of diesel/silage when I opened the machine. With the children's clothes they haven't quite had the same 'just washed' smell. Method cleaned all the baby's weaning stains off but again it did not touch the marks on my DH and DS's farm clothes.
  1. I do not think I would recommend it to others unless they were looking for a more natural washing liquid. I definitely not recommend it to those who needed stronger cleaning power.

Thank you for the opportunity to take part.

MrsKitty · 17/12/2012 18:18

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Loved the size, style and functionality of the bottle. Also loved that you could just pump it straight in to the drum, rather than having to measure it out. (This is why I currently use 'tabs' but could certainly be tempted to switch to the method pump.)

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

I'd need to consider the price - I usually buy fairy liquitabs when they're on special offer, so it's need to be comparable, or on offer occasionally so I could stock up!

Also, a way to tell when you're nearly out of washes might be useful

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Really liked the fragrance - There's not a lot of washing products I can say that about.

Cleaning power - didn't notice any problems/issues, seemed to do as good a job as my usual product.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes I would, particularly if someone were looking for a less harsh product / trying to find a product for a child with skin reactions to washing products.

Thanks for the opportunity to try it out Xmas Smile

nothingtodotoday · 17/12/2012 18:24

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Easy to use and small to store

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Nothing

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Cleans well, pleasant smell

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes, I would suggest they ntry it but I have not seen it for sale near me.

DeckTheHallsWithBoughsOfBolly · 17/12/2012 18:29

Really like the pump dispenser, no mess at all. I have had to second wash trousers with tomato soup on as it didn't come out and even with pre treating, on the second wash there was a bit of a mark which was disappointing.

morri106 · 17/12/2012 19:15

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? - I like the fancy bottle with the pump; very modern looking.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? Personally, my only gripe would be the price. It is a wee bit expensive.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? Fragrance and cleaning power were great, no problems at all. Just as good as my regular washing liquids.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? Yes, apart from the expensive price, I would probably recommend it. It is a good product and washed my son's school uniform perfectly.

Stujobohm · 17/12/2012 19:20

Q1- nice easy to use product. Easy to store.
Q2- the price is quite expensive
Q3- cleaned well, fragrance could be stronger.
Q4- yes I would recommended but would also advise of the price.

algieash · 17/12/2012 19:44

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
looks nice but dubious about pump idea, too gimicky. my experience of other pumps is that there is an issue with the pump not working so well unless vertical once its not full. i'm prob about half way through bottle and indeed i don't get a full squirt if bottle isn't vertical (and holding bottle and aiming accurately into drawer is pretty tricky) so how do i get exactly 4 pumps as prescribed? plus non-see through label means you can't see how much is left in the bottle. have to go by weight to know whether near the end of the bottle and need to buy more, my judge of weight is not an accurate indicator. finally there is inevitable waste at the end of a pump and the bottle has to be upended anyway to get the remaining liquid out.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
the pump, and i'd prefer to buy in larger quantities. i have space to store laundry products, so i buy in 10kgs of powder at a time and therefore rarely have to worry about running out.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
not used to having any fragrance, but seems fine, not too overpowering. cleaning power seems equivalent to the ecover powder i use currently

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
i wouldn't recommend it particularly over any other similar product, unless it was much better value than other products. i find the pump gimicky and prefer to buy in larger quantities.

glosgran · 17/12/2012 19:45

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?:

I think that the pump idea is innovative, however, when I tried to squeeze out a small drop to spot treat a stain, too much came out and it was a bit messy.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?:

Better wash result. I was disappointed with the poor result and pleased that I didn't pay for it. I would not bother to buy it again or try any other Method products.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?:

The fragrance is fairly bland so ok if you don't like a perfumed result. I thought that the cleaning power was not very impressive. I used 8 pumps in the first wash I did as it was a full load and I was disappointed with the results of my tea towels and oven gloves which remained stained. The whites were not very white and had the same 'grey' appearance seen on washing done using other eco products. I like my whites to be white, which is why I have avoided using eco or 'environmentally friendly' products in the past. Lightly soiled washing came out ok but would have done equally well (or even better) if washed with any other cheaper supermarket brand detergent. The second time I used it, I only had a half load but, because of previous experience, I put in 10 pumps of liquid as well as spot treating stains on a tea towel. I also used the 'SOAK' programme before the main wash on my Miele machine, which usually gives excellent results. However, I was very disappointed once again with the results on a white cotton tea towel which had been pre-treated with additional product on some food stains. The stains did not come out. I will use up the remainder of the product on lightly stained coloureds that only need a 'freshen up' wash. I would not use this product again on anything that I wanted to look clean & white.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?:

I would not recommend this product as it is very expensive and as far as I can tell it doesn't wash very well. I would tell them not to waste their money as the results are poor in comparison with normal bio washing products.

CaptainCalamari · 17/12/2012 19:46

Q1 Great - really easy to use and no mess. A bit worried to start with that it wouldn't be enough liquid to clean my very grubby toddler's clothes, but it did the job!
Q2 Nothing I'd change.
Q3 Fragrance good - not too overpowering or flowery. Cleaning power surprisingly good too.
Q4 I'd recommend this as really easy to use, no mess, very little packaging and light which my friends who don't drive would appreciate when lugging the shopping home from the supermarket!

danmoore00 · 17/12/2012 20:09

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Really liked it - packaging eye-catching (had to work out what the words meant as my test product was written in French)! The product itself was amazing wasn't sure if it was going to be powerful enough but it even worked on my other halves dirty work clothes - little and powerful!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Haven't noticed it on discount in any supermarket since testing. Price maybe would be the only thing that I'd change.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Fragance was really great - just right not too strong.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would recommend product but I would make them aware of the price. I have since purchased other Method products and found them to be really good too - recommend the wooden floor cleaner.

spg · 17/12/2012 20:54

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

The pump is the one thing that lets it down badly. It is pretty fiddly to use.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Both are fine.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I'd probably recommend, with a tip to open the bottle and pour!
