Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
It was so small that if I saw it on the shelf I probably wouldn't even have recognised it as a laundry liquid. I would have thought it was for handwashing woollens or something. It fits beautifully in my cupboard and is much quicker and less messy to put in the machine than powder or normal liquid. Especially when DD1 is trying to "help". Top marks for that.
I really find it easy to use and the design of bottle is fine. Pleased refills are available. The annoyingly trendy letter with no capitals really pissed me off though. (Is that relevant?)

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I didn't like the smell. It smelt like cheap toilet cleaner. If it is available in fragrance free that would appeal to me.
It was also made in the US. I prefer my products to be made as close to home as possible. This made me go and check my usual brand (Ecover) and note that it is made in the EU.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
As above re. the fragrance.
The cleaning power was ok. It left some stains at low temperatures (I'm weaning DD2, it's very very filthy work) but to be honest all my non-bios do. I also found the clothes creased the first time as I was confused about whether to use separate fabric softener. I added softener to later loads, which helped.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Not sure I have strong feelings to be honest. I have mentioned it to MIL as she doesn't like internet shopping and finds it hard to lug big boxes or bottles around, so it might really suit her. She was quite interested.
For my family, I think I feel safer using Ecover Zero as it is specifically recommended for allergies and DD2 has mild eczema. (To be fair though I didn't notice her having a flare-up after wearing clothes washed in Method, I have done four washes so far). I also worried that it was over fragranced and generally believe powders are better for washing machines than liquids (I think I read that somewhere on Mumsnet!) though to be fair this one doesn't seem to leave the usual gunky residue. So there you go. No strong feelings either way.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I really like the look of the pump. It is a lot smaller than the bottle of liquid I usually use for more washes. It's nice, modern and fresh looking.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

I don't think there is anything I would change. I have been very happy with it. I like the fact that you can see through the bottle to see how much you have left. It's really handy to be able to squirt straight into the drum - so much less mess than my current liquid which goes into a cup inside the drum.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

To be honest, I couldn't really smell the fragrance. I've tried a few washes, and can't smell any fragrance at all. Maybe I'm not using enough, or maybe my conditioner is masking the fragrance from the method. With regards to cleaning power, I haven't really washed anything that was stained, only usual weekly washing, but I haven't noticed any problems at all.

I would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend or relative, but I would probably also mention that it is quite pricy per wash.

I think it's really smart, very portable, good for storage and easy to use
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? Nothing, it seems great, user friendly and makes me feel like I am doing the best for my family and the environment.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? I didn't think that there was much of a fragrance but that leads me to believe that the product is natural and not full of harmful additives.
And the cleaning power? Everything came out clean but some stuff had been languishing at the bottom of the basket still came out smelling of damp

I would recommend it based on the size, portability and ease of use. I'd say it washes clothes well, doesn't leave things smelling unnaturally perfumed and saves so much space in the cupboard!

I quite liked the fragrance of the liquid, but found the pump mechanism a bit fiddley. If it needs 4 pumps per wash, why not do one larger pump? However i also found it a bit hard to gauge the range of fire of the liquid. It seemed to wash the clothes well enough, but the £6 per bottle that was quoted would make it unaffordable for me. I wouldn't talk about it with others as I didn't find it sufficiently different from other laundry liquids to be worth mentioning.

I am very impressed with this product. The bottle is greatly designed, does not take up too much space in cupboard and I love the ease of just squirting the product into my dispenser drawer instead of having to take off lids and pour out the product. It is very easy and mess free to use.

Q2 is there anything you'd change about method laundry liquid?
Make more fragrance options and make it more affordable by having offers on.

Have no issues with cleaning power, all my clothes came out clean. They smelled clean And fresh when unloading washing machine.

I would say the overall impression of the liquid is different it was great to use and had a lovely scent alongside my fabric softner

The thing i would change would be the colour of the liquid as i dont like the neutral colour very much

It has a nice fragrance not too overpowering i would say the cleaning power is quite good as i washed a few white towels they come out really fresh and clean

I would recommend the product to a family member as i would say its very different and i like the bottle with the pump dispenser a nice fragrance good cleaning power and also it would last longer than other detergents good value for money

I was very sceptical of this laundry product at first, mainly due to its size and the amount of liquid suggested for each wash. However, I have now completed two washes and I am pleasantly surprised by the results. My washing came up clean and all marks, (mainly mud due to the mucky weather at the moment), disappeared in the wash.

I would like to see the option of a larger bottle which may mean that the product is more economical in the long run.

The fragrance was slightly chemical and not as strong as I would like. However, I always use fabric conditioner and so this would compensate for the lack of fragrance. The cleaning power was good for muddy items of clothing but I have not had the opportunity to try it on more persistant stains yet.

I would recommend the product as it is an excellent environmentally friendly product but I would warn that it is quite expensive.

Looks really good, smaller than expected but seems to pack alot of punch. Good that its small as my kitchen is not overly large

Yes I would recommend, especially the size and the power of its cleaning though it would depend on the price

Not bad. I liked the small bottle, but felt it didn't have much of a smell, and not sure if it would last for 25 washes in hard water area.

Probably not, but if it did i would say nice small bottle, but not sure if it is economic based on price & use in hard water area.

The bottle is so small! I expected it to be bigger! Looks very neat and modern, really like the design - looks fresh and funky. I was initially unsure about the pump as it was hard to see how much was coming out, so I just gave it a few squirts and hoped for the best :)

Maybe have different size bottles? Also make refills available.

I loved the fragrance, very fresh and not too overpowering or synthetic. Very pleasant, and it stayed on the clothes for days. The cleaning power was surprisingly good for much a small amount, although not better (or worse) than the products I currently use.

I would recommend it, as it's an eco friendly product, whcih takes little space and is convenient to use. I would specifically mention the fresh fragrance.

I liked the bottle, I found it easy to use and liked the fact it takes so little space compared to my usual big packaging of washing tablets.

No, I liked it a lot. Whether I went on to but it depends entirely on price though I'm afraid. If it's just a bit more expensive I would probably go for it, if it's much more expensive then no.

I found the fragrance fresh and really liked it, and the clothes were clean!

Yes, actually I would as I think it was really handy and I liked the smaller packaging and smell.

The fragrance was quite nice, at the minute we use a washing powder with no smell so it was a nice change. We have only washed work shirts so far and are happy with it.

I would recommend it if they were looking for an eco wash as most friends/family only trust the regular brands although there are one or two friends who I would recommend it to for the reason it hasn't affected our little boy who has allergies or our eczema.

Ok, I think I've used it enough to answer the questions now, after my 'first impressions' post:

Really rather good. From my experience as someone who has used eco laundry products exclusively for years and years, this rates pretty highly. I got a better result than from my usual brand and I love that you need so much less! It also seems that you can buy refills which ticks the 'less waste' box too.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
It would prefer it to be a bit cheaper, money being tight.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I actually love the fragrance! I have never said that about any laundry product before. I can't abide the smell of all the big brand washing powders and liquids but this is lovely. It's not like fresh air though. I don't believe anyone can synthesise that unique scent. Cleaning power is good. The first load I did was a properly challenging one and it came out very clean indeed.

Yes, I think I would. I'd give the reasons above. However the cost will be off-putting to people who don't have much money to spare.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? Initial impression was that it is tiny. Having used it, I think it's great, so far. I love Method products (particularly the Lavender surface cleaner and the wood cleaner)

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I'm not sure about the smell, but it's possible that I'm just so used to my old washing powder that this seems a bit overwhelming. It's quite expensive too, but I see the refills are on special offer in Waitrose, so I may stock up.

It smells fresh, but a little bit strong for my taste. I prefer a more subtle fragrance. It's done a great job on DS's washable nappies and on a white shirt that was splattered with tomato soup. It seems to rinse out better than some other products too. There aren't loads of bubbles left at the end of a rinse cycle.

I would probably recommend it to my mum - she loves Method too after I converted her to the other products earlier in the year. I would probably recommend it to friends who use washable nappies as washing powder build up can be a problem.

Love the novelty of it - very unique, the fact that it is so compact - and very easy to use with NO MESS ( bonus )

As has been mentioned - cost can be an issue - like many others, I am on a budget and have no issue with my usual brand of liquitabs etc. I think I saw someone mention a pouch to refill - this makes perfect sense! Would keep cost down and add to eco credentials!

I actually really liked the 'fresh' fragrance - used without fabric conditioner and the smell was noticeable when the wash came out.Cleaning power - fine - nothing particularly stained in our ouse usually!

For sure - is innovative in design and loved the fragrance. Negative - higher cost.

With 5 of us the washer has barely stopped!

I really do love it. I really like the smell the size and the ease of use despite the french label, I have read the bottle in the shop before but never purchased it, will be buying a refill for it soon I think, I was impressed with the pump bit it meant no more spilling or dribbling down the bottle and no silly measuring.

For a pricey bottle £6 I think the look seems cheap it needs to be more in keeping with the kitchen range (the bright colours, holographic bits) like all the ads on MN. The white doesn't do t justice.

I liked the scent it was clean and fresh I love "clean linen" type scents. It was a little powerful on the first load but once I knew the scent it was rather pleasant, you could tell where I had freshly washed clothes drying!
It seemed to clean just as well as my previous liquid but a coupe of school shirts I put on a 35min wash dry cycle didn't have the cuff of one very clean it may be my cycle more than the liquid.

Yes Probably, I will be talking about it with MIL this weekend, about the lovely smell although she will prefer the peony one, size especially as she has a weak wrist so this is easier to handle and small enough to store anywhere, and of course it cleans well too!
Product suggestion fabric conditioner too please, I felt disloyal when using conditioner due to smell reasons.

I was very impressed. I left it til now to add my review to this thread, but have been using the product all week at various temperatures and on different types of laundry. After washing some school uniform, I hung it on the radiator to dry and it made the house smell lovely - clean and fresh, not cloying like some. I chose not to use fabric conditioner as the washing smelt so nice!

I would recommend it. I had my reservations about this, I honestly didn't think that it would work as well as it did.

As I said, above, I was put off by the lack of fragrance but once I had completed the first wash I enjoyed not being overpowered by fragrance and was able to appreciate the fabric softener.
I was unimpressed by the cleaning power, I tried to keep the variables the same when comparing to my usual liquid. E.g. wash temperature, spin, weight of load etc. But the liquid just did not perform as well as any of my usual brands.

I thought the pump was great. Unfortunately I cannot recommend it; I would not buy the product because of the price and performance.

Survey completed, and post added - I forgot to mention that me and my son both have eczema and so far no reaction at all to change in washing liquid to Method which is good news.

Loved the size of the bottle, hardly takes up any room in the cupboard. Did take me a while how to open it and use it as all the instructions on the bottle are in French!! I was a little bit skeptical that it would get the clothes cleaned as it seemed such a tiny amount to use but it did.

Good. Didnt look like there was any nasty chemicals, just looked like soapy water. Have to get past the different thin consustency and lack of colour. Good quality pump, squirted easily.

Would buy a bigger bottle if we bought it.

Hardly smelled it - not heavily fragranced, but what was there was fine.

Would recommend to someone who had sensitive skin. We tend to use a short wash programme (under 1 hour), and I'm yet to be convinced that this will clean well on whites wash after wash.

It caused an allergic reaction on my skin, I have quite sensitive skin and usually use unscented non-bio. I would also change the price! To make it cheaper.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I liked the fragrance, left clothes smelling clean and wasn't overpowering, however it didn't remove baby poo stains from nappies or from baby clothes, whereas my normal non-bio does. My nappies also came up feeling crunchier than if I was using the normal powder (we live in a hard water area)

I'd probably mention it as a good eco-alternative if it came up in conversation, but I wouldn't recommend it out of the blue. Partly as it's so expensive and partly as it didn't do anything out of the ordinary and actually performed less well on the reusable nappies. I'd recommend the scent though!
