Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? Very pleased with it, a small amount of detergent copes really well even in my very hard water area.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? Instructions in English might be an idea although I found it quite easy to figure out that it needed four squirts.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I thought it had a neutral smell which suits me as I hate being overpowered by the smell of washing powder. Cleaning power was excellent, coped well with DS's clothes, he works as a falconer so often has very dirty clothes.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? I'd recommend it, it copes well with what I've thrown at it and the smell is not overpowering.

OneTwoOrThree · 06/12/2012 15:35

Wow - a lot of you got your feedback here way before me!

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I really really like it! The washing liquid is good - nice scent in the bottle/pump and not too strong a smell on the clothes. Neither DH nor DD (4 going on 24!) noticed the change in washing liquid. My favourite bit though, is the pump - why has nobody else done this sooner! So easy to use, no getting chemicals tablets etc on your hands. The next best bit is the concentrated nature of the product - 4 pumps doesn't seem like a lot, but it does the job! Ususally I used half the manufacturers recommended dose (ie one tablet instead of two), but because I felt like I was using so little (and I hadn't paid for it!) I used the full 4 pumps in each load.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
No, I don't think so. Some of the others have commented on the price, which I agree is a bit on the expensive side. I'd probably only buy it if it was on special. Also, I assume the instructions would be in English if I bought it locally.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Lovely, and good! No issues. Some stains (baby poo / baby food) remained on some items, but nothing that my usual detergent would manage to get out. Why does baby poo/food stain so badly??

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I'm not sure I would actively talk about it, but if it came up I would happily recommend.

Hope this helps :)

Mine only arrived yesterday as I wasnt in when they first delivered it, wont be able to try it til tomorrow

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 06/12/2012 15:44

*Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I liked the fragrance, nice and fresh, not overpowering like most other laundry liquids. Also liked the bottle and the pump action.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? Could get the whites whiter and be better at removing sweat smells from shirts.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? Fragrance was nice, I liked it. Cleaning power is ok for freshening clothes, but not overly great at removing tough stains or sweat.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?*
I would recommend it for those who dont like strong smelling washing liquids and for those who are more eco friendly than I am. I might keep a bottle handy for going on holiday. It is small and easy to pack and would freshen up clothes when needed.

Avocadopie · 06/12/2012 15:44

Q1 like the smell and cleanliness.
Q2 expensive
Q3 good and good!
Q4 possibly, in a this works if you don't mind paying extra...

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Really easy action and satisfying to know that it is eco-friendly

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Does it come in a larger bottle? I like to buy as large as possible to minimise supermarket visits!

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
A strong, but nice fragrance. Most importantly, really good cleaning power. I forgot to pre-treat a poo-covered baby vest (!) and, to mu surprise, it almost completely cleaned it. It would definitely have shifted it with some pre-treatment. Very impressive for a 'natural' product.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would. I would recommend it on the basis that it is ec-friendly yet an effective cleaner, that it can be dispensed into the drawer or drum, and that the fixed amount of pumps means that you're not using too much (or too little). Excellent product.

FreelanceMama · 06/12/2012 15:53

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I thought it was handy and quick to use - no messy caps and lids to measure out and pleased to see an eco liquid to compete with Ecover.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I was a bit concerned that it would be easy for my child to dispense as there's no lid to unscrew, or cap to twist so I'd like some kind of "safety catch"

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
The cleaning power was on a par with the Persil Small And Mighty we were using before, but I definitely noticed that the fragrance was lovely - which made it better.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes if they were interested in an eco alternative. I'd say it was handy, reasonably priced and smelt nice.

Happiestinwellybobs · 06/12/2012 15:56

Q1. I liked the packaging and it was really easy to use. Washed clothes well. While some stains remained, they were the usual suspects (baby food) that my current washing tablets leave behind.

Q2. It's too expensive. I normally buy supermarket own brand versions and this doesn't compare money wise

Q3. Liked the fragrance - not too overpowering. Clothes smelled fresh and clean.

Q4. Yes, would say that it cleaned well and had a fresh fragrance

Biggem · 06/12/2012 15:56

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Impressed, liked the style of packaging and the small size. Cleaned well

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Errmm no, possibly the price depending on what it is?

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance was a non event which is a good thing, cleaned really well stood up to newborn & toddler stains without addition of any other removers an washed at 30

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes. Like the cleaning power for minimal use / squirts. Smaller packaging and I like the fact that you squirt it straight in - no silly dosing lids to lose and now drips and spills to clean up PLUS it takes up less space in the cupboard.

LiveItUp · 06/12/2012 16:15

Have done a few washes now, so ...

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? Really liked the bottle. So much neater than the huge box usually filling my cupboard beside the washer. Very easy to use.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? I looked up the price and it does seem a lot little more expensive than non-eco brands. I would probably get it if I saw it on sale though. I wouldn't change anything about the product itself.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? Loved the fragrance. Very non-offensive, slightly orangey when clothing wet, but dries to plain old "fresh". Very pleased with the cleaning power. Has had some challenging tasks this last week, with rugby kit. Have tried using fewer than recommended squirts too as most manufacturers say to use more than you need to, and it still cleans perfectly fine.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? Yes I would. I would mention the neatness of the bottle and use, and the cleaning power.

MirandaWest · 06/12/2012 16:19

Have finally managed to get the top to open properly Blush. Was taking whole thing F&F before.....

So not sure how many squirts I was using before but hopefully not too many.

Will answer properly at some point.

natcat7000 · 06/12/2012 16:24

Thank you for picking me to test the product.

Q1. My overall impression of the product was good. The branding is fresh and friendly and appealed to my minimalist style. The pump design has worked very well because there havent been any spills, messy hands or rings on the counter. I have only done three loads and I am not at the end of the bottle yet so I am interested to see how much liquid the pump leaves at the bottom.

Q2. I was a bit put off by the suggested retail price. As a stay at home mum, I need to shop for lower priced detergents (and generally ignore any Eco credentials).

Q3. I personally loved the subtle fragrance. I tend to prefer fresher and more natural fragrances than heavily (fake) perfumed ones so this was lovely. I did not have any serious stains to deal with so the clothes I did wash came out fresh and clean and most importantly without any nasty residue. I will update if I do need to wash anything heavily stained.

Q4. I would recommend to my Eco conscious friends with money to spare. I wouldn't bother the other mums I know with because they've got enough to worry about making ends meet!

Thanks again, a nice quality product but a bit on the pricey side particularly in these cash strapped times!

spabbygirl · 06/12/2012 16:24

Mine arrived a few days ago. I used it almost straight away, there's always so much washing here (sob, sob!) I love it, I like the packaging and found the squirty thing worked really well because its so big. I have a disability which leaves me with weak hands and tops on bottles/aerosols are often a problem. I loved the smell, very understated. I don't like the overscented stuff, which never smells like what it supposed to. I use plain grated soap to avoid it. The cleaning power was great, I washed my husband's work clothes with it. He's a gardener & really fussy about his clothes. He always uses vanish with an overscented powder, but he used Method without, just on its own, and he was really pleased with the wash. I thought it had good cleaning power too, but I'm easy to please. I'd happily recommend it and would love to use it myself but for that it would have to be reasonably priced. At the moment we use either a strong detergent washing powder or grated soap. I would much prefer to use Method cos it's nicer & better for the environment. I would like to buy a huge bottle and refill the one I have now & bulk buying also helps with cost I find.
One more thing, I would like you clever folk at Method to do the same with washing-up liquid. I have used Ecover but find it not effective and I'm ashamed to say I use an ordinary detergent one, even though I dislike it's effects on the environment. Do contact me if you'd like anymore feedback though.

poorbuthappy · 06/12/2012 16:25

Over

piebald · 06/12/2012 16:25

I have only used it twice and didnt really see any improvement in wash quality. It smelt quite nice but i had tiput a towel back in with a big dirty mark (not sure though how bad that was to start with)
I very much like the idea of small bottle and less to carry etc
Not sure i would recomend except for usefulness of size (not generally advising other people about what washing powder to use anyway!)

missusjen · 06/12/2012 16:28

Q1. My overall impression is really good. I love that it's so compact, and the pump is so clean and tidy and I don't feel I'll be wasting any product. It really looks very good, not like a big box of powder at all!
Q2. I can't think that I'd change anything, it seems to work as well as the leading brands.
Q3. I was really impressed that such a tiny amount really was concentrated enough to wash a whole load as well as I'd expect from a major leading brand.
Q4. I would definitely recommend it to other people because it is gentle on the skin and the environment, looks so nice on the shelf, it's clean and neat, easy to carry home and store, and works as well as any other non-bio product Smile

ThePoppyAndTheIvy · 06/12/2012 16:29

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

It's not a design that would have jumped out at me from a supermarket shelf but I like it. Small, neat bottle - fits easily into the cupboard. Pump is easy to use so far but a little unsure how easy it will be to get to the last dregs of liquid.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Just the price. I normally pay around £3.00 for 18 washes with my usual detergent.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Loved the fragrance after washing although the neat liquid smells quite chemically. Cleaning power is excellent, especially for such a small amount of liquid! The overall softness is better than my usual detergent too.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would say it's excellent if you can afford it. I think this may be one of those products I have to stock-pile when it's on offer somewhere Grin.

foosty · 06/12/2012 16:29

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Love the squirty pump - why has no-one else thought of this?! Saves the faff of using caps and in-wash dispensers. Bottle nice and compact. However, I have found I don't always get a decent squirt out - have to angle the bottle to get it out!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Not really - would like to know if there will be refill pouches available for cheaper price and are the bottles refillable?

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Don't really notice much fragrance once the clothes are washed - would like it to be a bit stronger. Love all the other Method fragrances for the other products so would like the laundry detergent to have similar. Cleaning power seems fine, actually - I'm quite surprised at this as usually
Eco-friendly products just don't clean as efficiently.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would to my environmentally -aware friends, definitely. In fact, yeah, I would to anyone who asked.

QueenofNightmares · 06/12/2012 16:32

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

It's tiny! I was shocked that it held so much in such a very small container.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

The price, I'm on a really strict budget and as lovely as I thought it was I just couldn't justify the price unless it was on special offer. Which is what I will have to do if I want to purchase it in future - Stock up when its on offer.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I loved the smell, it smelled very clean I dry my washing indoors during the winter and everyone who walked into my home while I was drying them remarked on the fragrance. It took out some very old stains too which I really didn't expect it to do.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would happily recommend it, its small and compact pretty impossible to use too much and honestly for the job it does its decent value shame its just not value enough for me!

BerryLellow · 06/12/2012 16:34

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Neat little bottle, very easy to use, great if you can afford it.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I think, the price, and the size. I buy the very large boxes of Fairy usually as we have so much sodding washing, and I get it when it's on offer. I wouldn't want to be buying a bottle every other week, or having 10 of them stashed. Which is a shame, as I really liked it. Maybe if you could buy a large bottle and then buy refill packs to top it up?

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Cleaning was pretty good, it didn't have a particularly strong smell IMO, which is good in this house as DP can be pretty squeamish about strong fragrance in anything. Also, I haven't noticed DS2 having any reaction to it (so far)

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I'd certainly tell them what I thought of it, but I wouldn't be insisting someone bought it, as it's not cheap enough to try out for one wash. You should do testers, in sachets so that people can have a go and then be won over by it :)

If it were just my clothes, I'd probably buy it for me tbh. But with a 9kg washing machine and at least two loads a day for now I don't think it's an option.

swallowedAfly · 06/12/2012 16:36

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

i liked it - i liked the brand and was drawn to the idea of it being a small company doing something different but then i'm an underdog supporter. i appreciated the letter that came with it and the personal touch and would recommend marketing in that way as a good idea.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

i don't know how everyone else knows the price - i must have missed that but i'm guessing i'd say price too if i knew it. i buy liquids as i find powders irritate my skin and i'd say i buy from about 3 or 4 different brands depending what is on offer. i don't think that i would pay more for this product despite liking it because if it works i'm happy brand wise - i don't pay more than i have to as a shopper generally. i wouldn't buy cheap powders but i wouldn't buy a liquid that was markedly more expensive than others.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

fine and fine.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

maybe my mum as she struggles with strength in her hands. i'm not really the chat about washing liquid type (who is???) but if it came up i'd mention it.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Its ok. Really I can't think of a lot more to say about it. Its just ok. A bit meh perhaps? I find it quite hard to get really excited about laundry!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I am yet to get to the end of the bottle so don't know if it lasts as long as it should.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
So far, the cleaning seems ok, although I don't think it has been really tested yet. Mind you I@'m yet to find a washing powder/liquid which I haven't managed to beat so I doubt this will be it!
Fragrance is ok. I'm not big into fragrances to be honest. Just clean and smelling of nothing is fine!
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Its ok, probably its biggest competitor is ecover which has a far bigger product placement in the market, but so maybe a "greener" coloured bottle would be a start?

D1974 · 06/12/2012 16:40

Q1. I couldn't believe it would do 25 standard washes. I had a smell and thought it was lovely, nice looking bottle. The space saving ability of it is brillilant.
Q2. Nothing that I can think of.
Q3. The fragrance on freshly washed clothes is lovely. I deliberately didn't use any fabric conditioner as I wanted to see how the fragrance of method lasted. To be honest I don't think I really need fabric conditioner as much as I used to use it so this test has benefited me and saved money on that.
The cleaning power seems as good as my regular brand but there hasn't been much in the way of tough cleaning to do.
Q4. I have made investigations and there is a refill that does 85 standard washes for RRP £13.99. This is a brilliant price compared to the £6 for this bottle, and I will be looking to purchase this product from now on rather than my non eco friendly powder. I'd certainly recommend it.
