Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I usually buy washing tablets as they are easier for me to store, so found the small, compact pump great! Fitted in the draw under the sink nicely. Will probaby reuse the pump in future for fabric conditioner.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Price- too expensive for me to buy unless on special offer. Although, I haven't actually seen it stocked in my local supermarket.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Fragrance was fairly mild and after clothes being hung up to dry inside, thought it smelt vaguely of wee. Cleaning power seemed average, but haven't had chance to put it through its paces on baby sick or poo.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

No, because it didn't strike me as an over whelmingly great product, which it would have to be for me to mention a washing product to a friend.

melodyangel · 06/12/2012 12:03

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I really liked the fact that it's small and fits in the cupboard easily. No powder spills or dust. Easy to use and no residue. I haven't finished it yet so don't know how well it works when you get to the last bit at the bottom . It will annoy me if I feel I will be wasting some if the pump stops working for the last bit.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Not so far.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I like the smell as it's not too strong. Cleaning seems good but I haven't had any really dirty washing to do.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would recommend it but would mention it seems to be quite expensive.

Spirael · 06/12/2012 12:21

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I have to buy washing liquid as DH is allergic to powders. The bottle seems very small compared to the huge ones I normally use!

Filling the machine draw is very easy and makes less mess. Is also quick, useful when a toddler is pawing at your leg for immediate attention!

I was initially skeptical of how well it would work, but it seems to have done the job getting our clothes clean.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

It's a bit more expensive than my usual washing liquid, so I guess I'd like to see the price come down. I'd also be interested in a bigger bottle, or the ability to refill, if that would bring the cost per wash down.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I haven't actually noticed a fragrance, but I have had a cold lately! I guess that means it's a mild fragrance, which suits me fine. The cleaning power seems fine, though I've not had anything too stained to wash yet.

We might make some chocolate brownies at the weekend, that should result in some messy clothes to test with!

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I probably would, specifically if someone was complaining about their existing washing liquid bottle being unweildy or that they were struggling to measure doses. Might be particularly useful for someone who is only able to use one of their hands, through injury or disability.

Belo · 06/12/2012 12:32

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Once I worked out how to open it (didn't have glasses on) I really liked it. Very easy to dispense from

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
No, so far so good.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
It doesn't appear to have much fragrance. I've used it along with conditioner to add a touch of fragrance to my wash. The cleaning power seems good. However, I've only used it 4 times so far. I found when I used ecover it wasn't until I washed dh's shirts in it for a couple of months that I realised it wasn't cleaning as well as the non environmentally stuff.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
So far, I would recommend it. I like the fact that when following the dosage instructions, you don't need to use much. I feel like it is more expensive, but you'll get more out of it. I also like how easy to use the dispenser is.

ln1981 · 06/12/2012 12:39

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Loved that it was small and compact, quite liked the smell too. I also liked the way it was dispensed. I have done quite a few loads of varying dirtiness and with different fabrics (it arrived just in time for bed-changing day!) and whilst generally all the loads were clean and smelled lovely, there was a particularly ink stained shirt from ds1 that didnt come up very well, despite being soaked first. tbh though, my normal power doesnt always cope well with ink stains either.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
different sized bottles.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
the fragrance is nice and clean smelling. and it cleaned reasonable well.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I think I would recommend it to others. the standard of clean was on a par with other powders/liquids that I have used.

CabbageLooking · 06/12/2012 12:40

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
It's a different look which I liked. Generally it is presented as modern and efficient. The way in which you administer it (with the spray) is novel.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Although novel, I don't like the pump. When you spray it into a full load of washing you can't see how much comes out and I got it all over my hands on a couple of occasions.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
The fragrance was light and unobtrusive (which is how I like it). It cleaned effectively but no more so than any other cleaning product I've used recently.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would certainly mention it for the novelty factor but recommendations would depend on price.

laughalot · 06/12/2012 12:42

Q1. I liked the product however it looked a bit clinical.

Q2. The packaging was boring and not very eye catching.

Q3. The fragrance was very nice and the cleaning power was good for the amont you put in.

Q4. I am not sure if I would recommend it the product was nice but it looked to clinical and not very eye catching.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 06/12/2012 12:47

Q1 I really like it. Have done lots of washes now and everything seems clean, including Dhs dirty mountain biking clothes. Even gets things clean with 3 squirts. Like how small and light the product is, doesn't take up much room in my cupboard.

Q2 the price. I currently use lidls formal tablet but only put in one not 2, so I get 40 washes for less than £4.

Q3 love the smell, really, really love the smell. The cleaning power is fine so far.

Q4 depends on the friend due to the price.

BumpyS · 06/12/2012 12:48

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I have done 4 loads with the laundry liquid. The bottle is very easy to use and I especially like the fact that you put the liquid directly into the washing machine (instead of using a doser), which is quicker and minimises loss. Clothes came out clean and fresh.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Price
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Cleaning power was fine and clothes came out clean as desired. Fragance is pleasant but for my personal taste, I would rather something a bit stronger. However, I put more weight on cleaniness, which as mentioned, was effective.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would recommend it as a product, but taking into account price, I would not recommend it as best value for money in its category.

TheOtherHelenMumsnet · 06/12/2012 12:57

unquietmind - don't worry - 'marking my place' just means that people post so that the thread then appears in their list of 'threads I'm on', so they can easily find it when they want to come back and add their feedback. It doesn't have any influence on the prize draw at all!

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

When the liquid arrived, I was quite surprised with the size. It's perfect for our little kitchen where space really matters!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

So far I wouldn't change anything about it.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

The fragrance was very pleasant, not too overpowering smelly quite fresh rather than very perfumed like some other washing detergents.
So far the cleaning power has been very good, I have washed the kids school uniforms and baby's clothes (who is currently weaning) and all clothes have come out clean and stain free!

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would probably recommend if it came up in conversation, so far I have been very pleased with the product, fresh scent, good clean and stain removal. My only concern is the price, I currently buy whatever is on offer to try and keep the costs of the weekly shop down although if it was on offer I would definitely buy!

PurpleCrazyHorse · 06/12/2012 13:13

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Really liking the pump, the bottle is small too. It's currently just stood on the counter on top of the machine as it's so easy to just pick up and squirt in.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I'm not sure of the price, it isn't stocked in my local Sainsbury's. That would be a big factor for me as I tend to buy laundry detergent in bulk at Macro so get a good deal.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Cleaning power seemed fine, I don't recall we had anything overly dirty or stained in the wash. I would have preferred more of a fragrance, the detergent didn't really smell of much and I quite like a bit of a whiff of flowerly odour coming out of the machine!

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I think I would recommend it if the price was right. I like the tiny bottle and the easy pump dispenser. No drips, clean hands and really quick and easy. That was a real plus and if the straw gets all of it out of the bottom of the bottle then that'll be fab too.

Overall, it seems really good. I'll update if I have any stained stuff to try it out on. Thanks for picking me to test the product.

gelo · 06/12/2012 13:18

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I quite liked it - it's easy to use and a bit different.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Just the fragrance (see below)

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Not entirely sure about the fragrance, perhaps it's just that I'm not used to it, but it seemed a bit chemically, rather than fresh to me. The cleaning power was fine.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

It's unlikely to come up, but if it did then I'd probably recommend, with particular reference to the innovative packaging.

Vene · 06/12/2012 13:45

Finally used it
Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I was impressed by the look of the bottle and it's compact size. It doesn't take up a lot of space which is great because we have a really small kitchen.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I would make it stronger/ more concentrated.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance was good, very unobtrusive, but strong enough to get rid of smells. The cleaning power wasn't good for me at all. Despite applying directly to food stains (orange juice) and using extra squirts in the wash, it still wasn't able to remove the stains. It works well for lightly soiled clothing- not useful when you have a toddler who likes to get messy!)

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would recommend it for delicates and things that aren't especially dirty. Also good for people with sensitive skin.

DeckTheHallsWithBoughsOfBolly · 06/12/2012 13:54

The squirter works well, very clean.

NagooHoHoHo · 06/12/2012 13:55

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

lovely design, loved that it was so tiny.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

the price. I would buy it if it were cheaper, but the compact design is not worth the premium to me. Also like another poster said, a refill would be good, especially if it made it cheaper.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I can't really discern a fragrance. I was expecting it to smell all delicious like their other cleaning products but I can't smell it. That's fine as it lets my fabric conditioner leave the smell. I washed my filthy curtains in it, and the cleaning power was excellent. I didn't use conditioner in that was and the curtains just smell clean, not 'of' anything. that's fine by me :) My white school shirts look good too. I haven't seen anything at all come out stained and I've done about 6 loads now.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I wouldn't put them off it, that's for sure. I have nothing bad to say about it. I buy washing powder at the moment as liquids don't seem to cope with school shirts, but the method was really good at cleaning them. I like that it doesn't smell strongly (I can't abide the strong smell of ariel, for example). I prefer the small bottle to a big box of powder, and I like that the dosage is measured so precisely. It's up to the other person if they can afford it or not!

Cols13 · 06/12/2012 13:55

Agree on the refill as the eco angle is why I would buy this - like that it's compact & easy to use & easy to dose & could use it as a pretreatment. Like the fact that my drawer won't get gunked up (normally use powder). Seems to wash fine although havent as yet had any really bad stains to shift. Can't say I really noticed the fragrance. Haven't bought Method before as thought it's pricier than Ecover but I'll see how long this lasts to see whether it's comparable.

klm1702 · 06/12/2012 14:13

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I liked it and thought a pump top was fantastic, liked that you could pump direct into the drawer hence less waste.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I think a bigger "value size" bottle would be good (do a lot of washing in this house!) also be more specific about it being a non bio equivalent as I'm sure a lot of people with kids may not try it just because they'd be looking for non bio washing powder/liquid.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I can't say I was overly keen on the fragrance (had a chemical smell) but it would not put me off if it worked well. As for the cleaning power, to be honest I used a bit more than was recommended for each wash and it did the job well, I wouldn't say it was any better than my regular non bio though and it does cost quite a bit more. Oh with laundry that had marks I also use vanish sensitive and it worked well with that but not sure how well it would do at removing stains without the vanish, that said I don't find any non bio good at removing stains.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Not sure if I would recommend it or not purely because of the price, don't get much for your money nowadays and as I said in my previous answer it didn't out perform my usual non bio which is quite a bit cheaper so couldn't really justify the price difference. If it was on offer anywhere or did a refill that was competitive then I would use again and would recommend. Choice of fragrance would be a bonus too!

vincenta · 06/12/2012 14:29

1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I liked it a lot. It comes in lovely shaped bottle with pump, something completely new and different and easy to use I should say.It was easy to use, it has lovely fragrance, not too strong or too weak just right and washed clothes well.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

I think everything is perfect enough, maybe I added more choices of fragrances, because all the time use laundry detergent with same fragrance is quite boring.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Fragrance was lovely, still present after wash when clothes were damp and when I ironed they smell wonderful, really liked the fragrance.
It was just right strength. Cleaning power was okey, It didn't washed my sons nursery jumper, but looks like it stained it so badly that now it is ruined, that's why can complain about Method. All other closes come out fresh and clean after wash.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes, definitely it is great product and worth to mention, to be honest I though that environmentally friendly products are mostly overpraised , non working stuff, but it great to realize that I'm wrong. Product which is kind to skin, kind to environment, prices reasonably (if there are price discounts) smells lovely and do what it promise-wash clothes.
Worth to buy and try especially with lovely pump spray!

meala · 06/12/2012 14:30

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I really like the pump bottle, it's a very clever design (although maybe a child lock system might be useful)
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Maybe a non bio version too?
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance was OK, it wasn't overpowering. the washing I've done so far seemed to clean well.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Probably recommend it for the pump. It would depend upon the price locally.

meggymegmegs · 06/12/2012 14:52

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Nice and neat, surprised at the small size.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Make it cheaper to compare with other brands I'd normally use.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Nice, not too strong.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes, especially for those interested in the environment.

withjamin · 06/12/2012 14:52

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Good. Excellent in fact and bottle will.last ages. Shame the instructions are in.french...
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Have a hard water variety! Do better value refills.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance a little long-lasting : what is it made of? Persistent fragrances sometimes have very harmful ingredients.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would but it wasn't much better than the value bio liquid we normally use in terms of cleaning. And it is very expensive.

jes73 · 06/12/2012 14:53

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I thought it was a great size. I did think it would be bigger but when I read that I just needed 4 ? 5 squirts, it seems fine.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I think if there was a bit of more fragrance added it would be great.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I thought the fragrance was a bit too mild. The cleaning power is just great. My clothes came out fresh and clean.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would recommend to Method because I think it is a great laundry liquid. I would tell them that it is a little bottle that packs a great punch and makes the clothes freshly clean.

BlatherskitedaboutChristmas · 06/12/2012 14:53

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I like the dinky little bottle. Take up much less room in my crowded cupboard. It took me a while to get used to having to hold it bolt upright when dispensing though as it seems to stop squirting if tilted even a little. It made pre treating very easy though which was nice.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I'd make it cheaper! Other than that, I'd probably change the smell, it's not alluring in it's pre wash state. It did smell lovely when I was doing the ironing though.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I wasn't totally sold on the fragrance as I've said above. Cleaning-wise I'm impressed though. Some gloves of DS's that had already been washed and deemed ruined have come up a lot better after a wash with Method and a t-shirt of mine that had a seemingly indelible grease mark is finally clean after some pre-treating. It seems to have struggled with DD's white tights though leaving behind both mud and orange juice stains. I'm going to try pre-treating them and putting them through again.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
If someone was specifically looking for a more eco wash liquid then I would probably recommend it. It is expensive though which I think would put a lot of people - me included - off using it exclusively.

axlbaby · 06/12/2012 14:53

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Really liked it, nice and small and really liked the pump dispenser.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Its probably a bit expensive for me, so would need to look for special offers. Can you get refills given the environmental status of the product rather than replacing the bottle each time?
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance was fine, didn't really notice it. Cleaning power seemed good, coped well with an exploded nappy!
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes would probably recommend especially if i knew they liked to use environmentally friendly products. Would say worked well and had a great pump dispenser.
