Thanks for the sample!Thanks
Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Very compact, pump works well and accurately (except when you get to near empty), no drips! From past experience, it's easy to refill the bottle (just don't overfill).
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
No. I know other people have commented that it seems expensive - I don't think it is bad when you realise that a little goes a long way. I have bought this before when it has been on offer, and buying the refill bag/pouch (esp when on offer) makes it good value.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I've never noticed much of a fragrance, which is a good thing. I dislike things being too overpowering. Cleaning power is generally good - I pretreat stains if I can be bothered, but haven't had to tackle a really dirty wash yet.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes, I'd recommend it. The one concern I have about Method products is that they are produced in the US. I try to be conscious of environmental factors in what I buy, and getting cleaning products shipped from the US doesn't seem very eco-friendly. I'm afraid my French isn't good enough to work out where this bottle came from, but would be interested to know whether Method manufacture on this side of the Atlantic.

Landlsmum · 04/12/2012 14:53

Hello,

It was great to get a proper parcel (more post should be sent full stop, but that's definitely a digression). I was a bit surprised to find it all in French but when the translation arrived I was pleased to find my translation not as rusty as I had expected - so that made me feel good about it for a start Wink.

So, my answers to the questions

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I really love Method products. I like their ethos and their brand styling so I was thoroughly pleased to find a new product in the line. I was impressed by the neat packaging and the unique shape, which makes it stand out from other washing liquids. I do agree with upinthehills' comment previously in this thread; if there isn't a refill I would think that was a waste of excellent packaging (although can be recycled - as one would expect with Method products!).

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
It's not cheap - although I am prepared to pay slightly more for an environmentally responsible product that helps me to be a greener citizen.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance not unpleasant, more 'artificial' than I was expecting but then I also wanted it to clean well, and if that meant a bit of compromise on the scent then so be it (and I think I have spotted a fragrance-free option available?). It cleaned very well - I have tried with with four squirts in the machine drum and also with four squirts in the washing liquid / powder drawer, and it has done a great job with both options. Not tried it on anything heavily soiled yet, but I can be confident with this weather and a Jack Russell to walk it won't be long till I do - and I will report back! The washed clothes smelt better than the liquid suggested they would, as well.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes, I would. I would praise it's cleaning power coupled with environmental responsibility - although I would probably flag up the price.

Landlsmum · 04/12/2012 14:54

Glad to hear there is a refill Smile

joolzy · 04/12/2012 15:02

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? I thought it was such an original and helpful idea!
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? Nope
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I loved the light and fresh fragrance. I have tried it on bedding, towels, coloureds and whites, all came up clean
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would recommend it, there is a lot of power in a small bottle, and eco too!

Wilts · 04/12/2012 15:14

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I like the pump, small and easy to store. The pump enabled far more accurate dispensing- I am terrible for over using, this helps with that!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
No

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I wasn't too impressed with the smell, it was in-offensive, but I personally prefer a stronger smell left on my clothes, which I don't think this did.

It washed as well as my normal powder, which I am surprised at, as I often associate this type of product with less efficient cleaning.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
If I was asked, I would happily recommend.

MaryBS · 04/12/2012 15:31

I was so impressed that I've just bought a refill (Sainsburys have an 85 wash refill for £14, or 16p a wash), just thought I'd share that. I'd not have considered the product before this trial, due to skin sensitivities plus the cost of the product if we didn't like it (but we do).

Shinyshoes1 · 04/12/2012 15:40

I still haven't recieved mine even though I was chosen and theres nothing in the letter box for a missed parcel Sad

shrimponastick · 04/12/2012 15:48

I have been using it for a few days.

I have a really stinky running top. Nothing got the sweaty odour out of the armpit area.
This did! Impressed!!!!

prakattack · 04/12/2012 15:59

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Lovey, very easy to use and the cleaning power seemed comparable to other brands considering how little you need to use.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
The pump mechanism is great, really easy to use, but I do worry it's a bit too easy... I'd prefer something a bit more child-proof. We do have cupboard locks but...
Also, it is a bit expensive for me. I tend to buy based on special offers and on that basis, I wouldn't buy Method very often!

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance was really mild, not overly chemical. I'd probably add fabric conditioner most loads to give a nicer smell.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
It'd be unlikely to come up but I would recommend it. I'd probably mention it was expensive though!

theodora · 04/12/2012 16:17

Hmm. Have posted my general impressions up thread but have just tried Method as a stain remover on some dried blood and it didn't shift it even after soaking in cold water first.

Am now re-washing with regular stain remover and normal washing powder.
That's disappointing.

Gigaflops · 04/12/2012 16:35

First two washes done - feedback as follows...

Bottle is brilliant, very clever but as a poster up thread said there would have to be a refill otherwise its pointless!

Loved the smell in the bottle - didn't seem to last on the clothes though.

Wash didn't seem as clean as I'd like - I did a load of food and paint stained nursery clothes and they're still stained... Sad I usually use Tesco own brand non- bio and they do a much better job!

Price is way out of my budget - as mentioned above I'm using cheap and cheerful and at the price it's working we'll for me! Wish I could afford this - it does smell so lovely...

DameMargotFountain · 04/12/2012 16:39

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

  • It looks so compact it's hard to imagine you could get 25 washes out of it!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

  • Yes, (sorry) I'd like a fragrance free version Blush

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

  • Not had a chance to test it on mud/grass but it's fine on 'normal' grime. I love the pump dispenser, far better than messing about with filling caps etc. I wonder if it'll be suitable for the MN maintenance wash Grin

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

  • Yes, I like things with less chemicals, we're quite an allergic family
CheeryCherry · 04/12/2012 17:07
  1. Overall impression was good, loved the bottle, the pump action idea. It felt like I could control the amount of product per wash, and easily tailor the amount per load. More compact in my cupboard too.
  2. The price! But cheaper would be lovely, and label in English please!
  3. Fragrance was fine, not too strong, was drowned out by the fabric conditioner anyway.
  4. Yes I would recommend it simply because I like the bottle, and the Eco friendly side to it. I would still need stain remover though. And would only buy it on special offer. I will keep an eye out for it though. Thank you.
lisad123 · 04/12/2012 17:09

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
That there was an awful lot of waste packaging!!
IT looks nice and sleak, but my kids might think its chocolate sauce

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I would like it in larger size, its not going to last me long

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Smell wasnt very strong, and so faded quickly. It didnt work well on my dd2 school shirt which had pen on or the mud stained pe kit.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
No, its cleaning power isnt great and the smell isnt very lasting either.
i like the idea of the pump, its a great tidy way, and bottle is great and much better than big boxes.

COCKadoodledooo · 04/12/2012 17:09

Mine has still not arrived Sad Have read some great reviews and looking forward to testing it!

MAsMum · 04/12/2012 17:13

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

It was handy to use, took up less space than my normal box of liquitabs and seems to be effective. Also, the design of the bottle appeals to me (as the liquid is self contained)because it doesn't appear to be as attractive as colourful liquitabs to inquisitive preschoolers!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Yes, the price point. I normally buy liquitabs which are a couple of pounds cheaper.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
The fragrance is really nice and the liquid has even managed to clean my husband's gym gear and make it smell really present( which is no mean feat!!).It also seems to have worked its magic on my preschooler's muddy coat.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I can't fault its cleaning power and so would probably recommend it if it was on offer because otherwise I think it is quite expensive.

Petershadow · 04/12/2012 17:16

Not impressed so far, hasn't removed any stains first wash, but will persevere.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 04/12/2012 17:19

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I liked the pump and the small packaging...

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

As others have mentioned, the cost, but with a refill which is 85 washes, and if you get it on offer at £10.00, like it was in Waitrose last week, it actually works out quite well.

The only thing I wasn't happy with is that if it's supposed to be eco friendly, not sure it fits the bill if it's being imported from the USA? But then again the label was in French and peut etre my French is poor...

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

DD1 and DD2 have really sensitive skin, and we usually buy fragrance free detergents, but they seemed to cope fine with it.

I used a bit on stains and it worked. I like the possibility of not having to buy stain remover for the uniform shirts (whose idea was it to put children in white! Hmm)

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes. me and DH hate doing laundry, and just want stuff to be clean. We don't enjoy it, so if it works, and the clothes are clean, the kids don't itch and it doesn't cost a ton, we're happy Grin

Would be happier if it was manufactured in the UK/EU.....

BoysAndGhouls · 04/12/2012 17:26

Hi,
Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Good small and compact so great.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I know some people have said about the fragrance but I couldn't smell anything after the wash, so maybe a stronger smell. As I don't use fabric softener.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Again I couldn't smell anything on the clothes which was odd as I'm used to it with my usual liquitabs. However the cleaning power worked :) clothes were clean which included school uniform and clothes from my toddler after play group so great.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes I probably would, although I would note the lack of fragrance, but great cleaning.

hettie · 04/12/2012 17:30

mmme- first impressions (will answer questions later)
Great that it's small..... Would be good if the bottle that goes on sale states number of washes in bottle (for price comparison purposes). Easy to use, no mess.... nice smell which seems to last, got clothes clean (though first and only wash so far not that dirty so....)

reluctantironer · 04/12/2012 17:45

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Really good - I liked the small bottle, the pump dispenser was great (very easy to use) and I like that it is a "greener" product.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Only the price really - a bit cheaper would be nice. I will buy again though, especially as I noticed at the supermarket that you can buy a large refill pouch.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I liked the fresh fragrance - not too overpowering - and was impressed with the cleaning power - it even cleaned muddy football kits. In addition, it didn't irritate my DS's eczema.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
It's an eco brand which smells nice and works well so yes, I would recommend it, especially if it was on special offer.

Cammelia · 04/12/2012 18:19

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
A:Easy to use

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
A:No

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
A: Fragrance was too "bleachy" for my liking. Cleaning power was good.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
A: I would recommend it because I like the compact size and ease of use.

spoonfulofnutella · 04/12/2012 18:25

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I liked it. The design of the bottle was good and I liked the pump action - not seen that before on this type of product. Our clothes came out clean and we have a baby who is currently being weaned (extremely messy with lots of stains). It even removed all of the stains from that.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I found my clothes didn't really smell of anything. Not a terrible thing but might be nice for it to be a little more fragranced.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
As above, it didn't smell of anything really. Cleaning power was brilliant. Stains that would usually need a few washes came out straightaway and without having to do the presoaking that was suggested.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes I definitely would. The lack of smell is not something that is that important to me and the cleaning power would definitely be something to recommend - and the main point of washing liquid really! I'll be interested to see the RRP. I imagine it'll be on the more expensive side but worth the extra in my opinion.

AntoinetteCosway · 04/12/2012 18:35

Marking place and off to put on my first load!

TapselteerieO · 04/12/2012 18:54

Q1 I really like the small bottle, great not spilling powder everywhere, simple & easy to use (even with French instructions).
Q2 Not at the moment. I think it is better than other brands of Eco laundry products I have used.Q3 Fragrance is fine, and more importantly not overpowering! And the cleaning power? Have not used it on heavy duty washing yet but I am happy so far.

Q4 It already has come up in conversation, my Mum saw the bottle & asked what it was. I would say I was surprised that it is good, I would recommend it, but I am not sure how much it costs.
