Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I really like it. Very compact.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I think it could smell a bit stronger. I use some method cleaners (kitchen spray, granite spray, glass cleaner and stainless steel cleaner) and they all have strong smells, so I was surprised I found the laundry liquid mildly scented.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance as above. Cleaning power seems good. As good as my current tablets I think.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
In the (frankly unlikely Wink )event that I were to discuss laundry detergents then I'd recommend it. Only if buying the refill though because otherwise I'd say it's pricey. I live in a very hard water area so do need to use a little bit more.

Finally got mine today! Will try it on a load tonight Smile

One small point I'd like to make (not read the whole thread so don't know if anyone else has said this), is that the packaging was far too big for the size of the product inside. A bit of overkill I think.

TheOtherHelenMumsnet · 04/12/2012 12:39

Just posting feedback from one of the testers - Laurenkate:

"I found that the method pump was very easy to use. I like the overall look of it and it made the washing smell and look clean and fresh.

I would Definitely recommend this to my friends depending on the price."

Oh and just to add. The first couple of loads I did I had to do an extra rinse because I seemed to have difficulty getting it in the drawer and squirted it into the fabric conditioner bit! Decided its much easier to put in directly in the drum.

whattodoo · 04/12/2012 12:47

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Great packaging, easy to use. Modern looking, size perfect for storing in small spaces.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
The price is off-putting. Is there a reful planned?
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance is fine, not too overpowering. the cleaning power was OK, I had a number of stains to tackle, found it a little difficult to apply a pea sized amount to stain, so ended up wasting more liquid than necesary. the tomato sauce stains came out but the dried in mud (which was very grim) is still noticeable. I'd still be included to use a stain remover which feels like its defeating the object.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? I like the product, not the price. It cleans as good as any other liquid I've used.

Found the refill on promotion in Waitrose today - now £10 instead of £14

3rdnparty · 04/12/2012 13:17

So far so good...its very small, smells nice not too strong, the top doesn't seem to drip which was a concern-as other bottle liquids always seem to
q2
however cant seem to do it back u again...will check the english instructions as may be missing something and need it to be not dropable!
q3
fragance - good light not massively noticeable which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. ~Wash power - so far so goodam amazed such a small amount works so well but have a load of white shirts coming up which is where other eco stuff has let me down so will update
q4- yes but again price is an issue am not yet convinced the neatness and good wash out weighs the price

duchesse · 04/12/2012 13:21

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Small! Seemed unlikely that it would stretch to 25 loads, especially on our big 10kg machine. After using it, realised that it really didn't need to be any bigger as it is perfectly powerful enough! Also the squirty pump is very handy, as is the fact that the bottle is refillable meaning less packaging waste.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? Not sure how many fragrances you have but would quite like to see a natural lavender oil flavour for example.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? We have a Dyson 10kg machine, and despite the instructions saying to use 6 pumps, I found that 4 was enough. So I'd say that the cleaning power is very adequate.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would certainly do so if it came up in conversation (not that I'm likely to start conversations about washing liquid) for example if somebody mentioned that it couldn't possibly work in quantities that small, or needed something more compact due to living in a small place.

duchesse · 04/12/2012 13:22

re fragrance; It's nice, not overpowering and not chemically like other washing powders can be.

NettleTea · 04/12/2012 13:23

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I liked the idea, and seemed a good way to cleanly and efficiently use the product
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? only the top- once I had released it to be able to 'squirt' I found it swung round a bit and wasnt so easy to direct. It may be that it should click into place and I havent dont that though Blush
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance and cleaning power both good. havent attempted the stains yet!
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would say that its a really good product - I am not aware of the price so cannot comment on that, but am assuming i to be comparable with other 'eco' products. I like the dispenser, allowing a mess free way of controlling the amount used, and the concentration of the product allowing it to be used for stain removal too.

RoscoPColtrane · 04/12/2012 13:26

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
very good, very neat container

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
no

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
lovely smell, very fresh, not at all chemically, perfectly good cleaning power.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Definately would recommend, all of the method things I've tried I've loved and this is no different

MrsMangoBiscuit · 04/12/2012 13:27

ovenglove, that's really cheap! Less than 12p a wash, but sadly it's not on waitrose online. Hmm, I wonder where my nearest waitrose is...

KentuckyFriedChildren · 04/12/2012 13:41
  1. Interesting packaging.
  1. The price. As usual method is expensive compared to other brands.
  1. Smells nice enough, no complaints there. Used on nappies and cleaned them well (also used on clothes etc) so cleaning power good
  1. Yes but I would warn about the price.
wigglewiggle32 · 04/12/2012 13:46

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I liked how small the pump. I normally buy washing tablets so have to unwrap them, It was nice to just get this out and pump it in, no extra packaging, plus I didnt have to touch the product which is good as my skin is quite sensistive.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Only that the instructions should come in English!!

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
At first I was disapointed that it didnt really have a smell, but for towels and sheets I normally pick a nice smelling fabric conditioner. Plus I wear a nice expensive perfume so it was nice that my clothes didnt smell too strongly so my perfume came through more!
I have to say Im really pleased with the cleaning power. I have two small children and live on a farm so they are proberly grubbier than your usual kids. The clothes have come up really clean. I very nearly didnt wash my kids very very muddy overalls but thought id give it a go and they cleaned beautifully!

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would (and have already) reconmended it! Ive not been shopping yet since recieving my method pump on friday so will definatly be looking for it in my supermarket

Spockster · 04/12/2012 13:47

Smell: nice, not too strong, but then I have a cold and can't smell anything anyway!Grin
Washing: no complaints, as god as my usual Sainsbury's liquid
Value: no idea what the price us, but I work it out wash-for-wash and buy the cheapest of the ones I like. Not usually keen on Eco, only because of effectiveness, but I would buy this.
Love the diddy bottle.
Love the pump action and neat way to dispense, no drips no mess no silly plastic tub to find its way into the tumble dryer.

GetKnitted · 04/12/2012 13:53

Oh no! My method is waiting to be picked up from the delivery office but I've got a temperature of 40degrees and can't face moving out of the house (and might crash the car if I did go anyway) I will feedback as soon as I retrieve it :)

horrorcomic · 04/12/2012 13:53

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I Love the little bottle and the pump is great as there is no waste.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
The most off putting thing is the price. A cheaper refill would be good, but I would find it hard to justify the extra cost.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
The smell is great and the cleaning power is good, but no better than my usual detergent.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes. I tend to recommend Method products as I like their ethos, but i would have to warn about the extra cost.

SixtyFootDoll · 04/12/2012 13:58

I have done whites, brights and darks using my Method liquid and am impressed so far.

Q1 overall impression is very good I like the neat shape and the pump is easy and clean to use. Takes up less cupboard space
Q2 I wouldn't change anything
Q3 I liked the fragrance, not too strong. Cleaning power good, got rugby kit clean.
Q4 I would recommend the product it worked well, and like the packaging.

TheTempest · 04/12/2012 14:02

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Attractive bottle and teeny tiny! Didn't smell as strongly as I'd like as I like smelly washing! The french writing did throw me slightly, I have to say!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

As above, i'd make it have a more noticable smell. I don' know how much it'll be but I'd imagine it's fairly pricy.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Cleaning power is good- I have 6 puppies at home at the moment and with a pre wash it cleaned their bedding very well and smelled clean too.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes I think I would. Possibly not to my mum though as she would fall over at the extravagance! I'll probably be buying it again though, and will definitely look at buying more method products from now on.

Thanks very much for letting me test it Xmas Smile

cherryjellow · 04/12/2012 14:09

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I like the shape of it and I like the pump. I didnt have to fiddle unwrapping or pouring things. I like it as much as the other brands I normally buy. My cupboards are limited on space so its the perfect size!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Ive read on here its pricy? When it comes to functionality (if thats a word?) then no :) My DH asked what it was :D But I'm sure that was becuse the packaging was in french and no other reason :)

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
It cleaned my whites better than the brand I normally use... and I love the fragrance! its very fresh smalling but not over powering

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would reccomend it. I would say it cleans well and smells great!

AllOutOfIdeas · 04/12/2012 14:09

Q1- I like the pump- I don't buy liquids usually as I over estimate how much to use-most say 2/3 of a capful etc I end up using the whole cap and never get the number of washes it says. So hopefully I will get all 25 washes.
Doesn't take up a lot of cupboard space either which is always good!

Q2- nothing- I m not bothered by all the fancy colours etc just whether it does the job.

Q3- I haven't noticed a big fragrance- towels washed without softener came out smelling clean but not perfumed, if that makes sense?
I haven't really noticed any difference in the cleaning power to my usual tablets tbh. Iwas hoping it would shift the stubborn bolognaise sauce stains so I could justify paying extra for method (I am making huge assumptions it will cost more than my aldi washing tablets!) but hasn't shifted them Sad

Q4- I probably would recommend depending on the price.

InTheBoonies · 04/12/2012 14:13

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I liked the design of the bottle - compact and looked modern. I also liked the pump which you can just pump straight into the washing machine and don't need to measure anything out.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

It is quite expensive at £6 to buy every week. I would like you do refills?

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

10/10 for the fragrance, it smells clean and fresh which is just what I look for. It is not cloying or sweet smelling which I like. I find it's cleaning power to be comparable but not better with ariel / bold etc.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes, I would recommend. I would say that it was my favorite smelling brand of washing liquid and I thought it cleaned well.
