Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Liked the neat pump bottle as we are very short on space in our kitchen cupboards.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Price I expect, but that goes for most quality products these days.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance mild and non-obtrusive. Children liked the way their uniforms smelled! Cleaning was fine, no stains despite having a messy 1 year old. haven't used it on nappies yet as its too cold to dry them outdoors.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend as an eco product, and for the reasons above- nice neat pump that doesn't take up space or necessitate caps.

SamsGoldilocks · 03/12/2012 21:13

Thanks Helen.
I'm really enjoying this test. I really like the pump system - no mess, no waste. I like the size of the package - not too mib to lug home with shopping on the bus.

I like how little solution you need. I don't have a problem with the smell.

It seems to do a good job cleaning but I want to do another white wash before I would commit to purchasing it. Like someone else suggested I hope they do refills as the packaging is really durable (although my boys are eyeing it up for some serious junk modelling).

Dependent on cost is buy it again and I certainly think it workable well on coloured clothes. I would recommend it for the pump system alone.

Parrish · 03/12/2012 21:13

Q1. I love the size of the bottle. I love sitting back on my heels and squirting it in. It has quite a long pump action!
Q2. It is quite expensive. And could Method make a separate stain remover? (See below)
Q3. I loved the fragrance. Not a chemical smell. And almost a neutral smell when the clothes dried but somehow they were fresher. Was impressed with the cleaning power but I tried squirting it directly on tomato sauce stains on a white vest and nothing shifted, despite this being a recommended technique on the bottle. But the liquid definitely cleaned much better than my usual Tesco colour wash tabs. I couldn't see if it had optical brighteners, this is usually an ingredient I avoid. I would be interested to know if it had brighteners as it may influence me in the future.
Q4. Yes I would. I would say it did a great job and the clothes came out softer and cleaner.

I definitely think I would buy again if the optical brighteners issue could be deciphered. How brilliant to have such a little bottle.

lucjam · 03/12/2012 21:17

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
It's so small and neat, brilliant - won't be hard to carry home from the shops. Like the pump a lot. It seems that you can get every last drop out if the instructions are to be believed.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Only chnaging it to powder, I do find that of I use liquid it makes my machine smell after a while so I have to do the 90 degree empty wash to clear the smell.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I like the fragrence, not overpowering like almost every other washing product on the market. Cleaning power ws reasonable for a non chemical cleaner. I LOVE method products, especially best in glass which is awesome.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes I regularly sing methods praises and I have already got quite a few friends on the method way of life, I just wish we got all the products that are on sale in the USA. I once managed to get hold of some moisturiser and baby shampoo - brilliant. I would prefer a powder if I'm honest so might buy the liquid and use it half the time to stop the smelly machine buiilding up.

Thanks for the opportunity to try it.

Heathen · 03/12/2012 21:19

Thanks for the opportunity to take part in this survey. Just got mine today and did a wash this afternoon - no messing about! I want to give it a few more goes before answering the questions but thought I'd give my initial impression. I started with a slightly challenging wash - the cover of a beanbag that had gone very musty in storage. Nice, easy to open bottle. Good pump action (smirk). Managed to waste first squirt on the wall though (ahem). Oops! Wink Really nice smell. 60 degree short wash. Musty smell completely gone. Looks very clean. I'm impressed! We don't have a tumble dryer so stuff is hanging in here as I type and the scent really is very pleasant. I have an aversion to the chemical-perfume smell of standard washing liquids and always use an almost scent-free one but this is lovely. So, off to a good start. Will add more as I use it more. Bye for now!

SpottySlippers · 03/12/2012 21:19

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Convenient size, I liked the pump action bottle and packaging; although it did strike me that it would not last long.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Possibly the price! I always use Method cleaning products and stock up when they are on offer, cannot afford full price unfortunately.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I liked the fragrance, not too overpowering; the clothes smelt fresh. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleaning power, I normally use powder as I find this more effective than liquid hence was alittle sceptical but this was unfounded.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes, definitely it's unique and effective. I would be keen to know what it costs though......

lucjam · 03/12/2012 21:22

samsgoldilocks they do do refills

here

junowiththegladrags · 03/12/2012 21:53

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Initially liked it very much, nice smell, wash colours and whites, came out lovely. Unfortunately it's flared the dcs eczema up badly so won't be using it again because of that.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Make it suitable for the dc.
Q3What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Very good on both.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I'd recommend it but would mention that it might not suit if there's any sensitive skins in the family.

craftynclothy · 03/12/2012 22:07

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I really liked the bottle. It was easy to use. I liked that it didn't take up huge amounts of space in the kitchen, though it wouldn't last very long with the amount of washing we do. At the moment dd1 doesn't seem to have had any reaction to it so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that continues even when things have been washed a few times with it.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I'd have preferred a bigger bottle. It wouldn't have to be huge, perhaps a 50 wash version. Or perhaps keep the bottle the same but offer 5L bottles to fill it up with iykwim.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I liked the fragrance and our clothes seem to be clean.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes, I would recommend it. I might mention that it doesn't do a huge number of washes though so probably works out quite pricey. Assuming Dd1 doesn't react to it I would recommend it to others in the family that react to lots of brands of washing powder. In particular, I'd recommend it to my aunty as she is elderly and struggles with powder going hard in large boxes, so she might prefer a pump.

RedKites · 03/12/2012 22:43

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Like lots of other people, I was really impressed by the small size of the bottle. It makes the current 'concentrated' washing liquid I use look really unimpressive in comparison.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I gather it's quite expensive, but I might buy again when it's on special offer.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I didn't particularly notice the fragrance, but I have got a cold at the moment. So far I'm happy by the cleaning power - not noticeably better or worse than my current one. DS2 is 7wo and has the occasional explosive nappy. I haven't tested it on his washing yet, but am interested to see how it does.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
If it did come up in conversation, I'd be positive about it, particularly from a 'green' point of view, but I would have to say I'd tried it on a free trial, and that it was pricier than many other options.

McPhee · 03/12/2012 22:51

Has anyone received their complimentary gift yet?

Being sent out as an apology for the product being in french.

eteo · 03/12/2012 22:56

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
It save space, easy to use, able to bring it for holiday, mild frangance.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Able to lock the pump without wasting it. Just in case, young toddler took it and drink it.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
It is mild. It suit me as I dont like strong small. It clean well and clothes feel soft.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes, I would recommend as it clean well and great for skin.

onelittleclara · 03/12/2012 23:11

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Perfect size bottle, but mine had a tendency to do an initial squirt in the wrong direction that meant I got it on my slippers! Also is too easy for the kids to fiddle about with. Would be good if you had large packs for refill purposes.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? Price? But do appreciate why its more expensive than some of the supposed market leader brands.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance was subtle, which I liked. Didn't smell artificial. Cleaning power seemingly good against pasta, chocolate, pen, mud and general child deritus.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes I would. I tend to sing Methods's praises anyhow, with the focus on the toxicity of mainstream products.

LakeFlyPie · 03/12/2012 23:17

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Neat, compact design, love the fragrance, good cleaning power

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Would like to see refill pouches at a lower price

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Love the fragrance and happy with the cleaning power

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Would recommend although much more expensive than the usual brands I buy.

GoodKingWenSOLOslas · 03/12/2012 23:20

I have used this just once and on a dark load.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I quite liked it. It is small and easily stored and if it goes a long way, that will be much better than having massive great bottles in the cupboard.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
No, nothing at all.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Quite a neutral scent, not overly perfumed, though I admit, I do like a nice scent to my washing liquids normally. It seemed to do a good job cleaning the load that I used it on, though it was a dark wash load
.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I think I would at this stage. There seems to be nothing negative to say about it.
I will return to add anything different/further once I've done a white and lights wash.

FannyPriceless · 03/12/2012 23:21

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Tried it tonight on a mixed load including DS's muddy coat he arrived home in today, and his jeans with mud around the bottom, etc. It actually seemed to clean really well, so I was quite happy with performance. I put a little bit directly on the worst marks. (I assumed that was what the directions said was 'possible' since I was too lazy to go and find the English directions we were sent. Wink) I also left some marks just as they were and they all came out fine. No complaints. Nice and clean in the machine too. Felt, erm, kind of modern... if that makes sense!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I have no idea how much it costs. That would be the big factor for me in the comparison.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance is good, smells clean. Cleaning power very good as above.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it?
I think I'd mentioned I'd used it I a product test and it was quite good.

snice · 03/12/2012 23:21

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I liked the design of the bottle/the pump action/size. It was easy to use and not use too much as I suspect I usually do with liquid laundry stuff. It washed all my 'general' washing well-better than I expected actually. We live in a hard water area so used 4 squirts and then 6 squirts on DCs muddy football kit-I was amazed that these came out clean. The only 'fail' I had was on a tea towel stained with tomato pasta sauce but I should have pre-treated the stain.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I wanted to be able to close up/lock the bottle. I accidentally knocked it and shot a stream of liquid across the worktop

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I didn't notice the fragrance-the clothes seermed clean but not scented. I prefer a stronger smell usually but this was OK. Cleaning power was good-and the clothes came out looking good too-sort of spruced up!

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would based on size/convenience/ease of use/cleaning power as long as it isnt too expensive

Elfontheshelfiswatchingyou · 03/12/2012 23:27

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? I am quite impressed. It cleans well and is easy to store. I like the fact it has eco-friendly credentials as I have a soak-away septic tank (so rural) and am restricted on what products I use.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? It doesn't smell of much which is ok in summer when I line dry, but this time of year a little fragrance can help when drying indoors.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? Cleaning power good, lack of fragrance less so.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? Yes, if the price was right. Natural products tend to be kinder to DD and DH's skin as well as the environment so I would recommend to my friend whose daughter is equally sensitive.

I have taken to using it with a little plastic ball (like Persil) as I kept missing the washing powder drawer when I squirted the pump.

Thanks very much for the opportunity to buy, I will be buying this product again, using it alongside fabric softener and salt as I live in a very hard water area.

Elfontheshelfiswatchingyou · 03/12/2012 23:29

*Thanks for the opportunity to try I mean. :)

Obstreperous · 03/12/2012 23:30

Q1
I love the pump dispenser, as I always make a right old mess of the ones that need pouring, especially if you need to measure using the lid. I also like that the liquid was fairly thin and you didn't need to do press ups to build up the strength to use it (which I find true of most of the really thick gels that go straight into the drum).

Q2
Bigger bottle. It's so light, it could be twice the weight. I think increasing the size could also make it better value for money. The same effect could be achieved by doing refills (which I'm assuming is on the cards because of the Eco angle?)

Q3
Didn't notice the scent, as I used with fabric softener. Bed linen came out nice and clean - impressive for such a small amount of liquid.

Q4
I would, because I love the pump dispenser. We're also recent converts to the rest of the range and love it all.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 03/12/2012 23:56

I liked the pump bottle, easy to use with one hand which is a bonus in this house!

I'd change the size of the pump bottle if there was no refill pouch as 25 washes is about 3-4 weeks worth of washing depending on what needed doing each week.

It cleans just as well as other branded powders that Ive used and anything that cleans a 3m and a 1yr olds nappies is a winner in my book. Its not harmed their skin especially ds2 who suffers eczema. Smells of outside!! Grin

I would recommend this as its small, easy to use, cleans well and smells fresh and will surprise people how little is needed, I was very surprised.

lisad123 · 03/12/2012 23:58

Marking place for tomorrow once 3rd load is dry and I can check out if the pen on dd2 school shirt has come off!

Salmon8 · 04/12/2012 00:56

I have received the method laundry liquid and have used it quite a few times now. I have been very impressed at how clean the clothes came out, especially as you have to put such a small amount of liquid in. The fragrance was quite mild but I just used a bit extra fabric softener so it wasn't a problem. I liked the squeezy pump. It was a lot easier when you have toddlers that like to help you put the liquid in the draw!! Overall I am very impressed with it and if it was a competitive price to the brands I normally use I would definitely buy it.

Salmon8 · 04/12/2012 01:04

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I was very surprised at how small it was but the small size is a bonus as space is always tight in our house. I thought the idea of the actual pump was brilliant and very convenient.
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I have noticed that the price is slightly less competitive than done other brands so a small reduction there would be helpful.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I thought the fragrance was very mild compared to a lot of brands but the clothes did smell fresh just not overly fragrant. I used slightly more fabric conditioner to compensate. I thought the cleaning power was excellent especially on baby clothes that have had spills on.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes I would definitely recommend it as it cleans superbly.

MrsMangoBiscuit · 04/12/2012 09:03

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I like the bottle, it's compact, seems pretty sturdy, doesn't leak and is easy to use. I'm, as of yet, unconvinced that there's 25 washes in there. 3 loads and 2 stain treatments in so time will tell.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Sometimes the catches air, so I'm not sure if I've put in enough liquid. I've only used the pump with the bottle tilted as directed, so it must have bubbles in. Probably unavoidable, but a bit annoying all the same. If it really is 25 washes then I'd probably pay the price, especially the cheaper one on amazon!

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I love the fragrance, it's very refreshing. I'm bloody impressed with the cleaning power! 2 direct treatments & washes and it got out a set in tomato stain from a top I thought I would have to throw out.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
If it came up, yes I would. I'm so impressed it shifted that stain. I think I'll probably stick to using Method now.
