Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? A very neat package , Small , light and easy to use
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? No
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I haven't really noticed the fragrance , have very poor sense of smell , cleaning power is very good
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? I don't like recommending products , if someone asked what detergent I used I would say Method , and say I was happy using it . Cost would be an issue , found it online at £12 for 25 washes , which to be honest I couldn't justify paying .
Thanks for letting me test it though .

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Nice and compact. I was sceptical that four pumps would do a full load though!
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Refillable pump is a good idea. I also think the pump should be resealable, I don't like that it is always active.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Doesn't really leave a smell on the clothes. As for cleaning power, there were some tea towels that were horribly stained that came out pretty much stain free however I did a load of reusable nappies and there was still a stain left on one of the inserts which would have come out normally.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
If asked I would say I liked the product but not for the reusable nappies (unless the next load comes up fine!)

Bicnod · 03/12/2012 19:00

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

A handy size to fit in the under sink cupboard which is a bonus! Doesn't really look like your typical laundry liquid because it's so small - if I glanced at it on the shelf I'd assume it was stain remover or some such. I like the fact you can buy refill packs.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

A way of locking the pump would make it safer for use around children. Is there going to be a fabric conditioner as well?

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I really like the fragrance - it isn't overpowering and makes clothes smell fresh airy. Cleaning power seemed as good as my usual laundry powder so no complaints there. I used 4 pumps each time I used it and we are in a very hard water area and it was still enough.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes, I'd recommend it - particularly the fact you can buy the refill pack (85 washes) for £14 - that's very good value for money.

Catz1 · 03/12/2012 19:06

On sixth wash so far.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method laundry liquid pump?

Small and compact but difficult to squirt unless upright so have squirted some outside of washer drawer! Not convinced I will get 25 washes out of such a small bottle.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method laundry liquid?

I love method cleaning products for their colours and smells and I find this laundry liquid a bit bland. I know it's supposed to wash clothes but I do like a stronger smelling detergent smell and a brighter colour. Sorry weird but just my preference. Would be helpful to know how many squirts to use with hard or soft water.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

As before I would like a stronger smell as with other method products but my laundry has been left super soft. Works well on delicate items at lower temperature. White hot wash towels came out clean but not brilliant white.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend method laundry liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would recommend this product for skin friendly and delicate wash, but this would depend on the price and how it is marketed against other products.

QuickQuickSleigh · 03/12/2012 19:17

I have tried this on a hot wash of white cottons, DHs work clothes (he works in construction and gets filthy) and a sheepskin rug covered in bolognaise based baby puke.

Everything has come out spotless and smelling lovely.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? I didn't think it would work! Nice packaging.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? As has been said above, I think the package needs to be safer and recloseable.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? The fragrance is lovely. Nt too strong or chemically, just clean. My clothes smell almost like they have been line dried.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? Yes, it works, it smells lovely and takes up very little space.

missorinoco · 03/12/2012 19:24

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I liked the controlled delivery system. I normally chuck in a small amount of detergent, this was noticably less than that.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Nothing comes to mind.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Fragrance pleasant but not overpowering. Cleaning power good.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would suggest it, especially if storage space was an issue. The refill for 85 washes is attractive.

caz1010 · 03/12/2012 19:24

q1. liked the size of the bottle, as i dont drive it wouldnt be too big and heavy to carry back from the shops. the squirty nozzle thing was good, after i got the hang of it and stopped firing it across the kitchen attempting to hit the drum!
q2. not at the moment, everything i have seen so far i have liked.
q3. the fragrance was less florry than i would normally go for, however, the scent smelt clean and fresh.
q4. yes, i have never used anything like this before, i have already told friends about it and would not hesitate to do so in the future.

derekthehamster · 03/12/2012 19:41

Quick update. I've done 3 washes now with it, and I'm really impressed. We live in a hard water area so I use water softening/limescale prevention powder as standard, and I'm only having to use 3 squirts to get a really clean wash. There is very little fragrance afterwards (which is good imo, as I dislike the smell of washing powder).

It works much better than other eco products I've used.

millie19 · 03/12/2012 19:44

Marking my place too - new bottle arrived today after first bottle was damaged by Royal Mail. Load of towels on tonight so look forward to results! Smile

MrsJohnDeere · 03/12/2012 19:51

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Nice neat packaging. Looked lovely, but not necessarily like washing powder.

Fine for a general wash where clothes weren't particularly dirty. Didn't cope so well with muddy trousers (football playing Dcs) or chocolate stains.

Not convinced I'd getc25 washes put of one bottle, but we're in a hard water area.

Would take it on holiday (we often do self-catering in cottages) because it is easier to pack than boxes of powder, but wouldn't change from my normal powder (Fairy) because it didn't get clothes so clean.

Think it would work out more expensive than my usual powder too.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

The smell - too much.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Didn't like the smell. Would prefer fragrance free.
Cleaning power better than I expected but not as good as my normal powder.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I'd recommend it to some one with space issues, or who struggled to carry heavy powder. Nothing much wrong with it, but the ws nothing particularly special about it that would make me positively recommend it to someone. Tbh, I can't remember ever having a conversation in RL about washing powder.

VeganCow · 03/12/2012 19:57

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

Love that its compact and doesnt take up much cupboard room, easy to use (I used 4 pumps into the drawer)

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

If not already, there MUST be refill pouches, cos if not, its not really environmentally as friendly as it could be.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

the fragrance I found barely there...can hardly smell it on the wet washing, again, on the dry. Cleaning power good for averagely dirty family clothes.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Again, could only really recommend this if it comes in refills, I hate the thought of throwing that perfectly good pump bottle away.

Wolfcub · 03/12/2012 19:59

Yay my bottle has finally arrived and the first wash is on. Did we all get the same scent? I like this blue one much better than the pink one that I wash my rug in

crikeybadger · 03/12/2012 20:05

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
The packaging was unusual, compact and I liked the neatness of it all. I found the pump action really good (once I got my aim correct) and it felt like I wasn't wasting any. I've knocked over so many bottles of ordinary washing liquid (and lost some of the liquid by forgetting to put the cap on properly) so this was so much easier and cleaner all round.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Not really, but I haven't seen the price!

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I really liked the fragrance initially - really fresh without being over powering. However, the more I used it the less I seemed to be able to smell it! This could be down to an appalling sense of smell though.
I think it washed pretty well, some things didn't get very clean, but with three DS's in the house, that's a pretty tall order.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Again, I'd be interested to know the price, as this is an important factor in my purchasing decisions. I think I would recommend it to friends just because the pump action was such a great idea.

choccyp1g · 03/12/2012 20:14

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I like the small size, and it didn't dribble when I squirted it.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Nothing at this stage.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Don't like the smell, but it got the stuff clean at 40%.
I felt that clothes weren't as soft as usual, despite using my regular fabric softener...and they don't smell as nice.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

If it came up I'd mention the dinky size (we are all looking to save space in the kitchen).

Willemdefoeismine · 03/12/2012 20:17

OMG you're all very quick off the mark. I got mine on Friday pm, having just put a load of washing on, and not likely to do another wash until midweek so my review will be at least a week away I would have thought Xmas Blush.

muddledsheep · 03/12/2012 20:18

I loved the neatness of the bottle and didn't think that 4 squirts could possibly be enough! The dosing system is easy to use, clean and convenient.

Wouldn't change anything except the price! Although refill pouches would be a brilliant idea if not already available.

The fragrance was subtle, to the point of non existent but I liked that the washing just smelt clean. Everything came up clean including socks, school shirts so it did a great job.

I would happily recommend it but the price would be a huge factor in whether I used it again let alone recommended it.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to test the liquid! Xmas Smile

McPhee · 03/12/2012 20:26

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

It was a very neat little bottle, easy to use and no mess. My reservations with it however are that once you have activated the pump, you can't then close it up without dispensing the liquid. So for a safety factor I would like to see some kind of lid, or lockable pump. Even though we keep these things away from children, accidents can happen.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

An array of fragrances, and as I mentioned above, I don't feel the pump is child safe.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I quite liked the fragrance. Nice and fresh. And I was quite surprised that just 4 pumps got my Dds babygrows clean and stainfree after a large nappy explosion! Normally I presoak in a stain remover first, but this time I didn't, just to test how powerful this Method Laundry Liquid was. And I am pleasantly surprised.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I think I would because it's very compact, cleans brilliantly, and you're getting a lot of washing done for your money with the added bonus of it being environmentally friendly.

Smile
Jackie221084 · 03/12/2012 20:27

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
i love the pump action. i have never used any method products before and i am pretty impressed with the design of the bottle. i am impressed about how little you have to use. when read how many pumps you need for a large load i pressumed that would be half a bottle gone...
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
bigger bottle
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
didnt like the fragrance at all...seems to smeel like my floor cleaner, but was ok when used with fabric conditioner. it cleaned stains really well, better than expected.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
i would recommend it and i have done to my sister in law. i like that its kind to skin. the price would put people off though i think.

IsletsOfLangerhans · 03/12/2012 20:33

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Having done three washes, I am very impressed. The bottle is attractive, compact and it is very simple to use. It has exceeded my expectations for an eco washing product so far ( irecently moved back from Ecover to store branded non-bio due to continued disappointment).
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Maybe some sort of lock on the cap so that children can't get hold of the bottle and dispense at will.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I really like the fragrance. It is natural, subtle, yet pleasant. I put on a freshly cleaned top earlier and noticed the pleasant scent still lingering. I was also very happy with the cleaning power. The first load came out clean and fresh-smelling. The second load involved pre-treating some bolognaise stains on my children's tops. This worked very well, with no evidence of tomato after washing at 40 C. I also re-washed a white school polo shirt which had staining from felt-tip pens. My normal non-bio liquid had not made any impact on the marks, but the Method detergent removed some of the staining.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? I would definitely recommend on the basis of it's cleaning power. However, I would not feel in a position to whole-heartedly recommend, unless I knew the price. I'm hoping it will be reasonable!

Thanks for the testing experience!

talkingnonsense · 03/12/2012 20:37

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I was surprised it didn't look like the other method cleaning stuff, it wasn't such a pretty colour! But the pump dispenser was fab to use, really neat, and the clothes are clean.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

The smell is nice but not as lovely as the shower spray or the bathroom wipes.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Scent fine, see above. Cleaning power fine.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

Yes, because it's so mess free to use! I really liked pumping it into the drawer.
Thank you for sending it to me.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw.

TheInvisiblePoster · 03/12/2012 20:38

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I love it's neat compact size, fit's in my very cluttered under the sink cupboard. The pump dispenser is a brilliant idea.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
As others have said the price would need to be lower to persuade me to buy it.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I've done 2 loads of washing so far one on a cold 30 min wash and one wash at 40, both loads came out as clean as they would with my usual washing powder.

The smell is lovely, infact as I my washing was drying in the tumbler I had the vent hose sticking out of the kitchen window, a friend came to visit and when I answered the door she said "Oh it's you making the street smell nice":)

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would recommend because it's compact easy to use and smells nice, but I think that the price would put a lot of people off. While I believe that it's important that we all try to be a little greener, in this current climate where many people are struggling financially I think they would probably opt for cheaper alternatives.

pinkangelita · 03/12/2012 20:41

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Very impressed with the compact bottle and ease of use. I was amazed at how well it cleaned and how it tackled difficult stains! (Orange, strawberries, mud on tights etc) it made our clothes lovely and soft too! I am very pleased with this product and I will be buying this in the future.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I am unsure if this is a refillable bottle, if it isn't then I would suggest changing the design to make it refillable. I was concerned that it wasn't very child safe due to the ease of the pump. I would have preferred a lid or some form of locking mechanism to prevent children from opening it so easily. I would also like it to be available in a larger size.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I loved the fragrance, very fresh. I was very surprised at how effective the product was as a stain remover and detergent. I regularly use ace on stains and found this product to be far more effective and much easier to apply directly to stains.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Absolutely. I would recommend its ease of use and compact size for storage alongside the fantastic cleaning power and ability to remove stains.

Leafmould · 03/12/2012 20:56

Overall impression: so far so good.

Anything I'd change: my dd has had a skin reaction with every other product containing enzymes. I have washed her trousers so far, and she said they were fine. I will test her vests next. If it is a different sort of enzyme from what is in other products, it would be helpful if that was made clear on the packaging.

Fragrance: yuck. Don't like it. It would put me off buying the product. The product is more expensive than my normal product, so I expected it so have a subtle, unchemical smell. Ecover smells loads better

Also it took a while for my clothes to dry on the clothes rack, so they started to smell a bit off, and there is nothing worse than the smell of off clothes combined with a chemical perfume. I don't have this problem with my normal product.

Cleaning power: good. Will test on something filthy soon and let you know!

Softness: good. My dc school jumpers had become a bit stiff with product residue, I think, and they came out of the tumble drier lovely and soft. I will try drying them without the tumble drier too.

Recommend?:I would suggest it to my elderly relation who likes small bottles for convenience of handling. I would want more convincing about your Eco credentials before recommending it to ecologically minded friends. I wonder what 'the ethical consumer guide' says about your company as a whole? [off to google]

RichTeaAreCrap · 03/12/2012 20:59

Thank you for letting me take part in this, I have done 3 loads today using my Method.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I loved the size of the bottle, it only takes up a small space in the cupboard. I also love the pump, so much easier to use than scooping powder out or filling those balls with liquid. I was also really impressed with how good it was, I had 2 stained tops in the wash, one with spag bol down it and one with make up on it - both stains came out on a normal wash.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
I think that refills are available but if not they would be brilliant. I know it is a bit more expensive than other washing liquid, but I love Method products and this one is now added to my list of luxuries!

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
The cleaning power was faultless - as mentioned above 2 items of clothing were stained and I didn't expect one of them to come out with just this alone but it did. The fragrance was lovely, I don't like overpowering washing liquid smells and this was just right, smelt nice and clean too.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would definitely recommend this product to a friend/relative. Infact I have already told my mum about it and as she is obsessed as I am with nice washing powders/liquids she is going to try it too.

tinypumpkin · 03/12/2012 20:59

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I liked the pump and also like the fact that nothing is wasted in the cap. I like the small sized bottle, it fits nicely in my laundry cupboard!

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

The price perhaps but the product itself is great. The Eco focus is something I really like too.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I liked the fragrance personally. It smelled nice in the pump and the clothes smelled good too. It was not overly strong and synthetically smelling. I liked the cleaning power too, clothes looked and smelled clean. Great!

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would recommend it. I would say that it is easy to use and comes in a nice pump dispenser. I would also comment that the eco focus is something I like as was the cleaning power of the liquid and smell. Nothing bad to report!
