Q1. First impressions - overall quite happy. Like the fact there are no 'nasties' and it has been made with sensitive skin and environmental impact in mind. Currently using similar from ASDA Little Angels, have also used other Eco Baby ranges. Quality seems high in comparison to other ranges I've tried.

Q2.DS (4.5) has autism and very particular about new things and very sensitive to overpowering fragrances. He had a sniff and didn't want me to use it. I did anyway and he soon got over it Grin I don't think that's any reflection on the product at all Smile DS2 (16mo) didn't seem to notice - although he did enjoy knocking it over into the bath, so in that respect it made bath time more fun for him. He has multiple allergies and gets very dry skin and doesn't seem to have been irritated by this.

Q3. Performed well. I was surprised at the thickness - but that is down to not having foaming agents in, so that's ok. It just means you have to get used to how much to apply, and applying with wet hands helps. I usually only use a dot of shampoo and found I had to use more so it probably wouldn't last me as long as a bottle of the same size with foaming agents in. I really put it to the test using it after a baby toes/paint incident - and it cleaned perfectly well.

Q4. I liked the fragrance. Not too overpowering, nice and fresh. I don't like to sniff my baby's head and it smells all perfumey and it passed my sniff test.

Q5. The bottle leaks when submerged in bathwater. Yes. I know. It's not supposed to be submerged. But ours do get submerged. A lot. Agree, I'd like a pump but this may leak even more!

Q6. I would use this product again if it was good value for money. So if it lasts me a good amount of time and isn't massively more expensive over equivalent brands then I would.

Q7. I would recommend to others, but would feel I had to warn them it was a different consistency to usual. It has a nice fragrance for an 'eco' brand - I'm not one for herby scents so it slightly has the edge there.

TruthSweet · 27/01/2012 23:00

Q1. What were your first impressions of the product? What did you like? Was there anything you didn't like? How did it compare with other products you've tried?

Packaging looked really fresh and new, smelled lovely and citrus-y. It looked a thicker consistency than other shower gels/shampoos we have used.

Q2. How about your DC - was there anything they liked or disliked about the product (if they're not old enough to tell you what they thought, then your interpretation of their opinion is fine!)? Would you say it made bath time more fun at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

They loved the smell and colour and my eldest DD (5y) loved the way it made her skin so soft.

Q3. Overall, how did the product perform? Did it clean your child well? Was it easy to use or not? Did you find you used about the right amount to start with or did it take a few goes to get this right?

Quite easy to get the right amount out if the adult did it - children were overly generous! DD1's skin was so soft afterwards (tendency towards dryness as she has not long out grown eczema). DD2 like 'squidging' it in her hands before washing herself with it (she is 4y).

Q4. What did you think of the fragrance? Can you think of any other fragrances that you'd like Halos N Horns to use?

Really liked the fragrance - it did smell zingy and wasn't too perfumed but rather smelt more like the fruit itself than an artificial orange smell.

Raspberry or vanilla would be good (but not the sickly fake vanilla!)

Q5. Is there anything about the product and/or its packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what and how?

Possibly make the nozzle slightly smaller to help protect against 15 baths more being squeezed out in one go.

Q6. Do you think you'd use this product again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would buy it again, the children like the way it smell and I like the no SLS and the softness of their skin. Couldn't try it out on DD3 as she has specialist bath products for severe eczema and I can't use any kind of cosmetic bath product on her at the moment (if her skin calms down I would happily use it on her skin as it suited her sisters well).

Q7. If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Halos N Horns Zingy Orange Hair & Body Wash to your friends who have children? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would as I thought it was a great product for children's baths/showers and would be happy to recommend to friends.

serotoninbutterfly · 28/01/2012 12:45

Q1. What were your first impressions of the product? What did you like? Was there anything you didn't like? How did it compare with other products you've tried?
I liked the packaging, although the tube was a bit fiddly, a pump would definitely be better I think. It smelled lovely, although not as strong as I had hoped!

Q2. How about your DC - was there anything they liked or disliked about the product (if they're not old enough to tell you what they thought, then your interpretation of their opinion is fine!)? Would you say it made bath time more fun at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

He didnt really notice a difference, far too interested in his ducks! The older kids (5 &7 - DSD and DSS) liked the smell though!

Q3. Overall, how did the product perform? Did it clean your child well? Was it easy to use or not? Did you find you used about the right amount to start with or did it take a few goes to get this right?

It performed well, although didnt lather as much as I had hoped, so I ended up using quite a bit.

Q4. What did you think of the fragrance? Can you think of any other fragrances that you'd like Halos N Horns to use?

I love fruity smells when I am showering etc, so anything like that is lovely. As I have already said, it would be nicer if it smelled a bit stronger!

Q5. Is there anything about the product and/or its packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what and how?

The pump idea is a good one, and perhaps a bit more lathering would be good.

Q6. Do you think you'd use this product again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I think the cost would be prohibitive, and I like the smell of Johnsons products better Blush

Q7. If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Halos N Horns Zingy Orange Hair & Body Wash to your friends who have children? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend they try it, especially if they have skin issues - my DS doesn't so its not all that important to me.

Thank you for letting us try it!

Q1. A larger tube than I'd expected though it looked good.

Q2. Dd1 age 6 was convinced it was toothpaste, not helped by us using a tropical fruit toothpaste for our dds. Dd2 and dd3 didn't really notice in honesty

Q3. It cleaned well and we used about the right amount the first time. However as shampoo it was horrible, all 3 children's hair was unmanageable after even dd3 who has such fine hair it rarely has any knots.

Q4. It was nice and my dds liked it. Fruity smells are great for little ones.

Q5. Not really

Q6. Possibly depending on the cost but definitely not on hair

Q7. I would mention it but would have to comment on how it left the girls hair as well as how nice it is as a shower gel.

Q1 - the tube was bigger than I expected. It looked expensive rather than cheap and tacky.

Q2 - she knew what is was for (said "have a wash!") On first seeing the product. She did not complain about her eyes or skin so I presume it didn't irritate her.

Q3- it is easy to spread and only use a little. Which was very impressive but the lack of scent was a let down. I also had to use a conditioner inn dds hair as it felt very dry and tangled so i feel it defeated the object of the product.

Q4- the smell was very mild and not at all what I expected from the title so a little bit of a let down. The products we normally use are unscented so the lack of smell is not a problem in itself but the title and the product did not marry up.

Q5- as others have suggested a pump bottle would be good. Also rename to mild Orange or something of the Like to reduce expectations

Q6 - not on hair but nice as soap. Did not irritate dds eczema which is very important. Would depend on cost.
.
Q7 - depends what they wanted. But prob not for every day use.

Sorry this feedback is so late, just back from a week away with no internet access!

Q1. Thought it looked good, I like the name, nice packaging, a bit different to other baby products

Q2. Oldest dd (4.5) thought it was exciting we were trying something different and liked the name as well and the orange packaging.

Q3. It was good for washing and made good bubbles in the bath. Their skin has been seemed to be less irritated after their bath compared to the last product we used so I'm happy with that. It was good to wash dd2's (1.5) hair as her hair is fine and she still doesn't have much of it to wash! Wasn't great for washing dd1 (4.5) hair - she has very long, thick hair - I had to keep adding more to get all of it washed and found it really hard to rinse all of it out. It was very tangled and hard to comb once I did get it all rinsed out.

Q4. The fragrance was fine but didn't really think it was what I would call orange. I like fragrances that are appealing to kidds without being too sickly - our favourite was a mango one.

Q5. Only to make it easier to rinse out of thick hair (but since she wasn't really part of the target research group that's possibly a bit unfair). Maybe change the name of the fragrance?

Q6. Yes for washing and in a bath but probably not for hair washing. Will probably continue to use for a while to see if it helps with their skin after using for a longer period of time.

Q7. I would recommend it if someone mentioned they were looking for something for sensitive skin that didn't irritate the skin

P.S. Thanks for choosing us to take part!

  1. Really liked the packaging, very fresh looking, tube wasn't as small as I'd expected. Love the Halo and Horns name ... perfect for children.
  1. DS1 liked the colour and images on tube, DS2 not interested.
  1. Fine for washing body with, lathered OK in our hard water but nothing wow. As shampoo I felt the hair needed conditioner afterwards. My boys have short hair but I thought it might make longer hair difficult to comb through.
  1. Fragrance OK but not very fruity and not what I would call zingy!
  1. Rename the fragrance?
  1. Fine as a shower gel but not as a shampoo (have gone back to using our regular shampoo).
  1. Not sure I would recommend it unless it was on offer somewhere. Definitely wouldn't recommend it as a shampoo though...

Thank you for letting me try it, I was really pleased to be chosen and my boys have enjoyed the change of product!

Q1. What were your first impressions of the product? What did you like? Was there anything you didn't like? How did it compare with other products you've tried? First impression of the products were it was nice looking, child friendly I also liked the look of the packaging

Q2. How about your DC - was there anything they liked or disliked about the product (if they're not old enough to tell you what they thought, then your interpretation of their opinion is fine!)? Would you say it made bath time more fun at all? If so, why? If not, why not? My DD 3.5yr liked the packaging and that it was for her to use, she said it smelt like strawberries. It made bathtime more fun for her as she could open and put it in the bath herself - likes to be independant

Q3. Overall, how did the product perform? Did it clean your child well? Was it easy to use or not? Did you find you used about the right amount to start with or did it take a few goes to get this right? I felt it cleaned her well although as a few others have pointed out it doesn't foam as much as other products which I personally find better as DD has sensitive skin, we more or less got the right amount straight away

Q4. What did you think of the fragrance? Can you think of any other fragrances that you'd like Halos N Horns to use? the fragrance was nice although DD said it smelt of strawberries, DD seems to like the ones which are fruity, but I would like to maybe see a lavender one for bedtimes

Q5. Is there anything about the product and/or its packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what and how? the only thing I can think to improve on is maybe a warning/note saying about how it foams but not as much as you expect

Q6. Do you think you'd use this product again? If so, why? If not, why not?
I will be looking at this product again as DD liked using it and it agreed with her skin aswell and has less nasty ingrediants than some others on the market

Q7. If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Halos N Horns Zingy Orange Hair & Body Wash to your friends who have children? If so, why? If not, why not? I feel I would recommend this product to friends etc as its very mild on skin and also smells nice

thehen · 30/01/2012 12:02

Q1. First impressions were good. I liked the orange colour and it doesnt seem to have as many chemiicals in as other brands

Q2. DC like the orange colour too. They want to squeeze it out themselves.

Q3. It took a few gos to get the right amout as i don't think it foams up as much as other products we are used too

Q4.like the fragrance, although not personally a big fan of 'fruity' smells. I think lavender would be another good one.

Q5. I think a pump would be good as this limits how much the dc can get out of it!

Q6. If the price was right, yes I would

Q7. Yes

starlight36 · 30/01/2012 13:53

Hi,
Please see below our feedback.

Q1. What were your first impressions of the product? What did you like? Was there anything you didn't like? How did it compare with other products you've tried?

The tube was nice and bright. I thought it would appeal to both boys and girls. Certainly my daughter was attracted to the tube and started playing with it as soon as I opened the package. It was reassuring to discover that the tube didn't leak at all and that the top was quite secure!

Q2. How about your DC - was there anything they liked or disliked about the product (if they're not old enough to tell you what they thought, then your interpretation of their opinion is fine!)? Would you say it made bath time more fun at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, bath time was more fun as the tube soon became another toy to be tipped in and out of the bath.

Q3. Overall, how did the product perform? Did it clean your child well? Was it easy to use or not? Did you find you used about the right amount to start with or did it take a few goes to get this right?

The product was good to use. We used a bit too much as shampoo as it lathered up more than I expected a natural based product to do.

Q4. What did you think of the fragrance? Can you think of any other fragrances that you'd like Halos N Horns to use?
The fragrance was not as strong as I expected 'zingy' to be. It was quite pleasant but not as obvious as the name / packaging would suggest.

Q5. Is there anything about the product and/or its packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what and how?
Perhaps the scent could be stronger but then it might be off-putting to some young children.

Q6. Do you think you'd use this product again? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes we would buy the product as it smelt nice and fresh and we didn't need to use much. I appreciate that is more expensive than some well known 'baby' brands but would expect to pay a premium for a paraben-free brand.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Halos N Horns Zingy Orange Hair & Body Wash to your friends who have children? If so, why? If not, why not

Yes, definitely

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to try this brand.

Q1. What were your first impressions of the product? What did you like? Was there anything you didn't like? How did it compare with other products you've tried?

I liked the packaging, nice and simple. I liked the little devils line as mine can be little devils!

Q2. How about your DC - was there anything they liked or disliked about the product (if they're not old enough to tell you what they thought, then your interpretation of their opinion is fine!)? Would you say it made bath time more fun at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

We put some in with the running water and made some bubbles which made it a bit fun for dc3, but they didn't last long. My older dcs liked the fact it was especially for them.

Q3. Overall, how did the product perform? Did it clean your child well? Was it easy to use or not? Did you find you used about the right amount to start with or did it take a few goes to get this right?

The product cleaned hair and body well. It was easy to use and a little went a long way. It was great that it was hair and body wash. I found that I used the right amount right away.

Q4. What did you think of the fragrance? Can you think of any other fragrances that you'd like Halos N Horns to use?

I liked the fragrance although there was a synthetic undertone. Other citrus fragrances such as lime or lemon or maybe apple would be nice.

Q5. Is there anything about the product and/or its packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what and how?

Maybe a pump bottle. Otherwise no.

Q6. Do you think you'd use this product again? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes my kids liked it and it wasn't too babyish so while it was gentle enough for ds3 (15 months) my older ds's (7 & 9) also liked using it.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Halos N Horns Zingy Orange Hair & Body Wash to your friends who have children? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, we liked using it.

louise2011 · 30/01/2012 15:58

1.Lovely modern packing. Easy to use. Don't need to turn upside down to use unlike most other shampoos.
2.Children loves the smell and the fact it was 'gloupy'. Didn't make bathtime mor fun though their hair smelt beautiful.

  1. Easy to use. Bit thick but I prefer bodywash/shampoo this way. Maybe due to consistency it look a little longer to get good lather.
4.Loved the smell- wouldn't say it was 'oranges' but did smell fruity. Other fruit combinations would be nice eg. babana, mango, peach. 5.Pump dispenser would be perfect but if elevated the price too much I wouldn't buy. 6.Yes, I would buy again as great for childrens' sensitive skin and loved the smell.
  1. Would recommend to friends if it was a little cheaper. Will buy again if on special offer.
foolserrand · 30/01/2012 17:06

Q1. What were your first impressions of the product? What did you like? Was there anything you didn't like? How did it compare with other products you've tried?

Simple packaging, bright colours, fun by line. No need to faff turning the bottle upside down and squeezing as it runs low. Nice smell too!

Q2. How about your DC - was there anything they liked or disliked about the product (if they're not old enough to tell you what they thought, then your interpretation of their opinion is fine!)? Would you say it made bath time more fun at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

Ds liked that it was orange and smelled, well, like oranges. There were bubbles to blow and pop. All in all, a roaring success in the eyes of Ds (2.11).

Q3. Overall, how did the product perform? Did it clean your child well? Was it easy to use or not? Did you find you used about the right amount to start with or did it take a few goes to get this right?

We actually found we used too much initially (call us pessimistic! :o) but found a little was all that was needed to get a very grubby young man clean again. Ds is prone to rashes and dry skin and this has practically vanished within the few weeks we have been using it. For this reason alone, we will not be changing back.

Q4. What did you think of the fragrance? Can you think of any other fragrances that you'd like Halos N Horns to use?

Ds loved it, I would perhaps have preferred strawberry :o orange was nice enough though!

Q5. Is there anything about the product and/or its packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what and how?

Not really, it works nicely as it is.

Q6. Do you think you'd use this product again? If so, why? If not, why not?

As above, yes.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Halos N Horns Zingy Orange Hair & Body Wash to your friends who have children? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. Because it smells nice, is child friendly, the packaging is bright and fun, it is very good on.sensitive skin.... there is a long list! I have already recommended it to a few immature adults I know because they would like it too!

NessaRose · 30/01/2012 18:02

Will post feedback when unpacked. (been in hospital)

room4another1 · 30/01/2012 18:03

A bit late posting feedback but been hectic last couple of weeks. Anyway here goes:-

Q1. Liked the packaging and the scent was a bit unsure of the consistency at first.

Q2. DD1 (aged 6) liked the scent but DD2 (aged 5) not so sure. DS liked the tube.

Q3. Even though I thought it seemed a bit thick in consistency and almost gloopy it did a good job at washing DS and DD2's hair. DD1 had thick wavy hair so I used her usual shampoo and conditioner. DD2 did say she wished it was more bubbly.

Q4. I really liked the fragrance as did DD1. DD2 didn't though but she is going through a hate fruit stage. Maybe a coconut version would be nice in future for a sweeter holiday approach :)

Q5. DD2 would like to see more bubbles (which I know would defeat the purpose) but other than that nothing needed.

Q6. Yeah will continue to use and since I've spotted it is a good price in Boots and Tesco (cheaper than current) will keep using it.

Q7. If I were on the subject with someone then I would recommend the brand.

Thanks for sending the product to me to trial :)

notasausage · 30/01/2012 21:19
  1. We liked the smell, thought the packaging design was funky and I was pleased at the size of the tube.

2.DD(3) liked it because it cane in the post = present! It was a nice novelty to use something like my shower gel as we normally use hard soap to wash her.

  1. It cleaned well, left her smelling orangey but took more to get it to lather in her hair than our normal shampoo though it did leave her hair nice and shiny. I also tried it as a face wash and it left my skin feeling clean but not dry.
  1. We liked the smell. I like fruity smelling stuff - maybe a berry scent would be good.
  1. Easy to use - maybe a bit too easy to squeeze out for little fingers though as dd discovered when she tried to have a smell!
  1. No, I think soap is easier and cheaper - sorry. It was a nice treat to test it for you though.
  1. Yes if it was something I thought they'd like.
GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 31/01/2012 11:24

Q1. What were your first impressions of the product? What did you like? Was there anything you didn't like? How did it compare with other products you've tried?

I liked the big size of the bottle. I liked the fact the product is "kind to eyes". I would prefer a pump dispenser as slippery hands and squeezy bottles do not always go together well. I did not like the text speak " 4 UR" at all and this would put me off buying this product. Another big problem for me was the gender stereotyping of the pink Halo and the blue O in Horns. I think that is frankly unacceptable.

Q2. How about your DC - was there anything they liked or disliked about the product (if they're not old enough to tell you what they thought, then your interpretation of their opinion is fine!)? Would you say it made bath time more fun at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

My DS was not grabbed by this at all, and was reluctant to use it. As a nearly four year old boy he is quite clear on products he likes and this was not one of them. He wanted a pump dispenser so he could use it himself. His hands were too small to use the bottle properly independently. It did not make bathtime more fun. We have toys and games for that. He did not like the fact that it did not lather up that much so he could not make bubble beards.

Q3. Overall, how did the product perform? Did it clean your child well? Was it easy to use or not? Did you find you used about the right amount to start with or did it take a few goes to get this right?

Yes, the product cleaned my DS well. I knew it would not lather much due to the lack of SLS and that was fine. I liked the fact it was a combination hair and body wash.

Q4. What did you think of the fragrance? Can you think of any other fragrances that you'd like Halos N Horns to use?

I did not like the fragrance at all. I was expecting something along the line of citrus essential oils and I was disappointed by the artificial and sickly fragrance. Anything which smelt more "real" would be better than that.

Q5. Is there anything about the product and/or its packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what and how?

Although much is made of natural and plant based ingredients on the top of the bottle at the back, the list of actual ingredients seems to be a long line of chemicals. Better explanation of the provenance of the ingredients would be an improvement. And a pump dispenser would make life easier for me.

Q6. Do you think you'd use this product again? If so, why? If not, why not?

I don't think I would. To me this product falls between the chemical/natural products already available. I think it is a lot of money for something which doesn't smell particularly nice and my DS didn't like. The gender stereotyping on the bottle as detailed in Q1 is enough to put me off by itself.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Halos N Horns Zingy Orange Hair & Body Wash to your friends who have children? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, I would not, for the reasons I have outlined in Q6.

Sorry, I have left this to the last minute and that a lot of my feedback was negative. I really wanted to like this product but I feel a bit let down. Thanks for sending us the product though Smile

Q1. What were your first impressions of the product? What did you like? Was there anything you didn't like? How did it compare with other products you've tried?

I really liked it, I liked the packaging which was fun and different and i liked the smell. I also liked that its quite a big bottle compared to the one we usually buy

Q2. How about your DC - was there anything they liked or disliked about the product (if they're not old enough to tell you what they thought, then your interpretation of their opinion is fine!)? Would you say it made bath time more fun at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

The DC seem to really like it, no complaints at all - it also smells really nice and hasn't set off DC2's mild excema - which is great

Q3. Overall, how did the product perform? Did it clean your child well? Was it easy to use or not? Did you find you used about the right amount to start with or did it take a few goes to get this right?

Found it great - easy to use, cleaned the DC well,

Q4. What did you think of the fragrance? Can you think of any other fragrances that you'd like Halos N Horns to use?

I really like the smell - and the DC smell really nice after their bath - really happy with it.

Q5. Is there anything about the product and/or its packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what and how?

Q6. Do you think you'd use this product again? If so, why? If not, why not? The only issue would be cost - we would use it unless it was too expensive - but I will be looking for it in the shops to see.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Halos N Horns Zingy Orange Hair & Body Wash to your friends who have children? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend it - it cleans the well, smells nice and is good on sensitive skin

  1. I like the packaging, as it's not too baby-focussed, so it appealed to DTs (6) as well as DD (2).
  2. DCs comments - DT1 - I can't smell any oranges, DT2 - It smells of strawberries, DD - me do. (she likes squeezing tubes!)
  3. It got all 3 DCs nice and clean, even after a very
muddy football game, and left DD's fine hair feeling very soft but not too flyaway. They were disappointed at the general lack of bubbles though.
  1. Hmmm, what fragrance?! I was expecting a much more noticeable orangey smell, rather than a vaguely fruity one.
  1. Neither DH or myself particularly liked the Horns part of the brand name. As others have said, a pump dispenser would make it easier to use, as the tube was hard to grip with wet hands. A stronger orange fragrance would be lovely, or maybe apple or melon?
  1. I would use it again, as it was very useful for showering after swimming.
  1. I would recommend it to people, as I like the ethos behind HnH, and know lots of people it would appeal to on that basis.
