Thought the new Sunbites were great. Surprisingly my favourite flavour were the plain ones. Didn't really like the sour cream ones as they left a funny taste in my mouth the rest of the afternoon. Like the fact that they are wholesome and not too many calories - only 3 WW points. Would like more in the bag though!!!

Huge apologies! Thought I'd done this already? Damn iPhone!

My overall thought on sunbites was that they are yummy, look nice & appetising and substitute junk as a healthier option.
I'd describe them as a cross between a crisp & a cracker, I preferred the sour cream ones, liked the black pepper ones not too keen on the chilli flavour didn't think it was authentic, just artificial spicey IYSWIM. did not like the cheese & onion ones either, too sickly sweet?
I'd recommend to a friend, in fact I have done to one friend who is dieting but crisps are her downfall! I'd also serve these as chips n dips at a gathering etc I'd like to see a salsa flavour or perhaps roasted pepper flavour? Something smokey.

Thank you! x

Q4 Their texture and the fact that they are healthier than a lunchtime or snack time bag of crisps.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

packet was good, they look expensive and healthy. I didn't feel the flavour branding was enough to differentiate the packets. I enjoyed them at the time, but as I went through the flavours I felt they tasted too same-y.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

Very cruchy and not like crisps. More like an extra crispy crispbread.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range? I liked the sour cream, it was the strongest. The others were a bit bland for me.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

Very very crunchy.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably not, as I found them too bland, and also a bit too moreish. I would need about 5 packets to feel satisfied.

Sorry! Not a great review from me, but thank you very much for sending them Smile

  1. I didn't like them at all. I have only tried two of the flavours, and the flavours were fine, I just couldn't bear the texture. They seemed gritty.

The other packets are still in the cupboard weeks later.

  1. To a friend I would say that they are healthier than crisps as a snack, and that they are welcome to try the ones I still have.

  1. I tried the salted ones and the rosemary ones. The flavour is fine.

  1. The only other similar snacks that I eat regularly are crisps, and they are very different in that they have a crispier texture but the gritty bits are unpleasant.

  1. If it were to come up in conversation I would offer my remaining bags to a friend and let that person make up their own mind.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

In general yes. They are a tasty, healthier alternative to crips. Liked the matt packaging.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

Crunchy, wheaty, lots of flavour.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

Most liked rosemary. I love rosemary and it's not a common flavour for snacky-type things. Also liked sour cream. Did not like lightly salted. Would like to see more alternative flavours, although not of the wierd Walkers variety, more following on from rosemary.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

Very crunchy and alternative flavour options.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would. I did however buy a few of the multipacks following the taste trial and found them to get a bit same-y. Although the flavours are nice and strong, because the snacks are quite substantial and take a fair bit of chewing, the wheaty flavour is the one that is predominant.

They are crunchy enough and the flavour is just right, I will buy them in future.

I've has sunbites before but not for ages. I liked the rebranded packaging and the new flavours. They all tasted great, but sour cream were my favourite. I liked that they are wholegrain and a healthier alternative to crisps, but at the same time they still taste good too.

Q1. 1st impressions - really liked the packaging. Nice matt foil so different from crisps. Felt more luxurious if that's the word I'm looking for.
Thought all the flavours were nice but overall had the same dryness of other 'baked' crisps which I really don't like.
Q2. Very tasty, light but need a drink with them.
Q3. Loved the sour cream. DH liked the chilli.
Q4. Tastier than other 'diet' snacks but on the dry side
Q5. If it came up in natural conversation I might mention I'd tried them. Not sure if I'd recommend unless the person specifically asked about diet snacks.

I absolutley love walkers sunbites, infact I now prefer them over normal crisps, my favourite flavour is sweet chilli witrh cracked black pepper and sour cream coming in close second.

I would descibe them as crunchy, tasty and perfect for those wanting something lighter than crisps but wanting more flavour than snacka jacks.

Dh would like a meatier flavour please.

I have already recommended them to friends and family, just because they're fabulously tasty and moreish.

I found the flavour of the cheese was too strong in the chese and onion flavour, no matter I just gave them to the dh to finish.

I would like to say thank you for my free samples, they were most delish. Grin

  1. Very nice
  2. bit like ryvia but actually edible
  3. I liked the plain ones, but then again I like plain crisps
  4. they sort of fill the gap between crisps and corn snacks (ie wotsits)
  5. yup would recommend them.

I remember them from a few years ago. Can't remember why I stopped buying them, think it was because I started seriously dieting which included no snacks at all

Loved the Sunbites - my favourite flavour was the chilli, closely followed by the sour cream and black pepper! YUM!
My girls loved them too, and glad as it's a healthier snack for us all than crisps (we are all crisp fiends in this house!)
I would definitely recommend them to friends and family - my nan has tried them and loves them too!

On the plus side:
Nice and crunchy, easy to eat (quite quickly!), nice packaging, chilli flavour lovely, cheese surprisingly pleasant as don't usually like, interesting varieties.
Negatives:
Left a taste similar to Doritos (which could be a plus to some), Salted was tasteless but not bad dipped in brown sauce!
Would like to see some stronger flavours or more traditional crisp flavours in the range.

Just finished trying all the flavours, we have never tried the product before, but now I would certainly consider them to an alternative to crisps.
We only eat crisps in the house as a treat at weekends, I do not let my DS eat them at school.
However my DS who is six loved them, his fav flavour was the sweet Chilli, and plain salted. Me and my OT thought the plain salted were a little bland.
His fav flavour was Rosemary and onion, well balanced in both flavours and no after taste, we found the cheddar to be a little strong, and it did linger a while as an after taste.
I like the fact they are a healthy snack with wholegrain, I like the texture, which nothing else can compare too.
Thank you for the opportunity
Sharon

  1. Definitely enjoyed them, had switched to Baked Lite some time ago but will now switch to Sunbites!
  2. Healthy non greasy crisps
  3. Sour cream were the family favourite, children also liked ready plain salted, OT loved rosemary, no-one cared for the Cheddar flavour
  4. Plus points: Wholegrain, no meaty flavours. As a vegetarian, I prefer not to buy meat flavoured crisps
  5. Would definitely recommend, as most mums are looking for healthy alternatives for lunchbox and after-school club snacks
