Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
They were tasty and different from any other crisp, which was quite novel.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
I told friends about them Grin and billed them as healthy crisps.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?
I liked the onion/rosemary and cheddar ones best. Also chilli but they could have been stronger in flavour.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

They look different, the texture is quite 'grainy' and as a result they fill me up better than regular crisps.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?
I already have done! :) Whether I buy them again would depend on the retail price, but I'd quite like to get some more rosemary & onion ones, as they were mega tasty!

BettyButterknife · 20/09/2011 22:10

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
I liked them - really enjoyed eating them but I am a crispaholic.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
I'd say they were more like the kind of snack you'd have in a bowl as a nibble rather than crisps. I'd probably mention the fact they are wholegrain and also that they are 120 calories but I am on a diet at the moment so these things are important.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?
I like the sour cream flavour - reminds me of Doritto's cool flavour. The ready salted ones were pretty boring in comparison to the rest of the flavours. I was a bit apprehensive about the chilli ones as I really don't like Ryvita chilli bites much, but they were much nicer than I expected. Likewise the onion and rosemary - I thought they'd be unpleasantly pungent but they were actually nice. The cheese were my least favourite as they were a bit strong and made me paranoid my breath smelt.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?
They're the only snack I can think of that tastes more interesting than crisps, more like nibbles, but that you can buy in a small bag enough for one.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, probably, although i'm not sure the conversation would ever come up!

sevenkittens · 21/09/2011 07:07

We LOVED sunbites. They have a really good flavour and are a great alternative to crisps. With less fat and grains they make me feel like I'm give my family something reasonably healthy! We were a bit dubious of what we thought were random flavours, only some of them, but were pleasantly surprised. The taste and texture make them stand out in the snack world.
I love the rosemary and onion ones and my dh the chilli ones, my ds liked any he could get his hands on! We would love to see a smokey BBQ flavour.
We will and have already recommended them to friends.

hotnspicyonions · 21/09/2011 10:43

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes we enjoyed eating them very much.Tried and tasted my Grandmother (82) Mum (57) myself (35) DP (27) and DS (5). The flavours were a great range and were quite strong.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
A tasty snack for those inbetween meal times.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?
We liked the Sour Cream and Cracked Black Pepper and the Cheddar & Onion.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?
You get your savoury fix with a lower fat intake than regular crisps.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would as we found them very flavoursome and there was just the right amount in the packet. I will be buying them in the future.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 21/09/2011 13:01

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

I did enjoy eating them. They were pleasingly crunchy. However, the flavours were a bit wishy washy. I like a bit of punch to my crispy snacky things.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

I'd say they were a cross between Frazzles and Wheat Crunchies. So a crisp yet not a crisp. This would intrigue them. Probably.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

I think I liked the sweet chilli one the best. The sea salt ones didn't really taste of anything. I'm a salt and vinegar nut, so I'd like to see some tangy sharpness going on.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

They seem more grown up somehow than the usual packet of crisps. The flavours are certainly more geared towards an adult palate than a childs.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

I suppose I would say they were worth trying, but the flavours need to get a bit more intense IMO.

natcat7000 · 21/09/2011 14:00

These are a fab substitute when you have that craving for crisps but you're trying to be good! They say they are lower in fat and its also nice to introduce more wholegrain into the diet (cant hurt right?). Some flavours worked better for me than others- I loved the sweet chili and the onion and rosemary in particular and can't go wrong with simple ready salted. I didn't love the cheddar or the sour cream as much but then I tend not to choose those flavours in crisps either so maybe it's just a personal preference thing. Overall, I'll definitely want to have these in the cupboard for a quick, guilt-free snack.

Aimsmum · 21/09/2011 22:48

They just arrived today and we have managed to work our way through them! Grin

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

I thought the packaging looked nice and they were a different texture from what I had thought they would be. We did enjoy then, they were tasty and surprisingly filling.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

I'd say they were a bit like a diet type crisp, but less like eating dust, more flavour and filling!

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

I liked the cheddar and sour cream best. would like a nice spicy flavour, was a bit disappointed by the sweet chilli.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

Different texture, wholewheat.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would say they are worth a try, seem healthier than other crisp type snacks.

bethelbeth · 22/09/2011 00:02

Overall impression is that they seemed like a better alternative to a packet of crisps. A bit healthier.
If describing them to a friend, I'd probably just say 'the new walkers healthier crisps'. I don't really discuss crisps that often!
I thought that the sweet chilli ones were the nicest. The rosemary ones were vile imho.
I wasn't keen on the 'sweet' aftertaste that I got from this product. Some have compared them to doritos but I don't agree.
The chilli ones were the best in my opinion, nobody in my household pinched any of them so they don't seem to appeal to men!

ItDoesntBodenWell · 22/09/2011 14:41

Overall I really like the texture of them, nice and crunchy and grainy, and not too greasy. They make a good crisp sandwich.

My favourite were the cheesy ones, I have bought more of them!

I would never have bought the rosemary flavour ones, but did like them when I tried them so that was a nice surprise

Least favourite are the lightly salted - they are too sweet and actually a bit sickly by the end of the pack.

Thanks for letting me try them!

BedHog · 23/09/2011 08:58

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
I really enjoyed them - they were very thin and crispy, so didn't leave that 'soggy mush' in your mouth like some crisps do. They were very similar to those cylinder shaped snacks you can get - I think they are called Wheaties or Wheat Crunchies, not sure if they are Walkers.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
A light, crunchy snack.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?
I liked the sour cream best. I was dreading eating the cheddar and onion as I can't stand cheese and onion crisps usually, but they were surprisingly nice.
I'd like to see paprika flavour, and maybe some meaty/bbq/steak flavour. Also roast vegetable flavour might be interesting - parsnip/squash/shallot/sweet potato etc.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?
They have a more delicate flavour, and don't leave you with sore, salty lips.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, although I don't tend to discuss crisps very much!!

Oh, and while you lovely Walkers people are reading, can I please make a request to bring back a type of snack that I really enjoyed in the 1980s and 90s? They were like little rectangular air-filled pillows, sort of waffle textured, like very small shredded wheat, and were pale yellow, so possibly made from corn? I can't remember whether or not they were Walkers, but they were delicious and I'd love to see them back!! Smile

wahwahwah · 23/09/2011 11:53

I thought they we very tasty
I would describe them as being a bit like crisps but almost like crackers
I liked them ALL except the cheese ones - they were quite revolting and I love cheese
They are very well shaped for dips!
I would recommend - and I have (but not the cheese ones)
A spicy flavour would be nice - like the red kettle crisps

thereinmadnesslies · 23/09/2011 13:36

I couldn't try all the flavours because most of them had milk in, so my feedback is partially based on what DH and DS1 said ...

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
I used really like Sunbites then stopped eating them for a bit. The are yummy and different to most of the crisps on the market. I liked the package size and calorie count - enough for a snack without being too heavy (as long as you only eat one pack!)

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
Cross between a crisp and a ryvita but with much more flavour.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?
The only flavour that didn't have milk in was the sweet chilli ones. Why oh why do Walkers need to put milk (whey) in the lightly salted ones? I'm sure that didn't used to be an ingredient. The sweet chilli ones were nice, had a bit of a kick but not overwhelming so.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?
The texture - not obviously potato but not synthetic like childrens snack crisps.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would - just because they are a bit different.

ChairmumSupermum · 23/09/2011 17:58

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I liked the texture and all the flavours were nice but not extra special.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

Crunchy crisp-like bakes

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

sweet chilli. I enjoyed all the flavours but most of them needed something a bit more tangy in them. More 'sour' to the sour cream etc

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

The great crunchy texture.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes.

Gigglebizmizz · 26/09/2011 13:25

I enjoyed eating these all flavours were tasty especially the cheesy ones but definitely was not keen on the chilli flavour they were a bit too firey for my liking and agree did leave a strange after taste (quickly got rid of this by eating another packet!!) I have to be honest though and say I much prefer Walkers baked as a lower fat option to crisps. Sorry but I will not be rushing out to buy these when dieting just prefer to try and abstain as by eating these it just wanted me to have another bag.

LoopyLoopsPussInBoots · 26/09/2011 13:52

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not? I liked the texture, and the chilli flavoured ones were lovely. Onion and rosemary ones were nice too Didn't like the other flavours.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were? Crunchy crispy snacks.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range? Loved the chilli one, like onion and rosemary. I like strong flavour s - salt and vinegar and prawn cocktail always go down well in this house, maybe a variation on this - scampi? Calamari? Caviar? Grin

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it? Lovely texture

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes

We all really enjoyed them, the different flavours and different texture to regular crisps.

Cracker like, crisps but like crackers (thats a bit confusing! sorry)

I would say the texture, quite hard to explain it.

TimeForMeIsFree · 26/09/2011 14:19

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

A light, crunchy snack, nice flavours but far too sweet for me, I could taste the sugar in all the flavours.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

A wholegrain snack, non greasy, very light and tasty.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

I enjoyed the Sour Cream flavour the most and no, there are no other flavours I would like to see in the range.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

The Sunbites seem to be a lighter, less dense snack than others.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I think I would recommend them but I would mention the sweetness, I really could taste the sugar in every flavour, this was the only thing I didn't like about them.

Bloodymary · 26/09/2011 14:38

Q1
More wholesome tasting than crisps.
Q2
Lighter than crisps, with a good texture.
Q3
The ones with rosemary. Fab.
Q4
As someone else said, not synthetic, and you can taste the wholegrain.
Q5
Yes I would reccomend them, in fact I already have!

Bearcrumble · 26/09/2011 15:22

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

They seemed like a hybrid crisp/cracker type thing. I enjoyed some of the flavours.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

Kind of wholemeal baked crisps.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

I liked the sour cream ones the best. Would quite like a lemon and chili flavour.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

They are totally non-greasy and seem to be a lot healthier than most crisps.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would probably mention I'd tried them and that I liked the sour cream flavour.

Bearcrumble · 26/09/2011 15:22

Agree about not liking the sweetness of some flavours.

nikkitay · 26/09/2011 15:45

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes the whole family enjoyed them and we all swapped to try the different flavours. The wholegrain nature makes them different to other crisps.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

Like McCoys but look healthier due to their wholegrain nature and they feel lighter as they are thinner than McCoys.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

Quite like the sour cream and black pepper but also the sweet chilli flavour. Can't think of any other flavours that I'd like - maybe cheese and onion.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

The texture - our family really like the wholegrain nature.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

They feel lighter than other crinkle crisps and they are full of flavour. They also have less calories than normal Walker's crisps.
