We've been asked by Hasbro to find 20 MNers to try out their top 10 bestselling toys and games with their family (2 families per toy). We're looking for folks who are not only willing to try the toy but who are also happy to record a short video review with their child(ren) playing with the toy or game and to add feedback about it to a thread on Mumsnet. There are 10 toys/games to choose from:

Playskool Elefun Busy Ball Popper (minimum age 12 months) RRP £29.99

Sesame Street Let's Rock Elmo (Not in the shops till the 19th September, so this is a chance to get it first!) RRP £69.99

Littlest Pet Shop Tree house Playset RRP £44.99

FurReal Friends Cookie My Playful Pup RRP £74.99

Transformers 3 Ultimate Optimus Prime RRP £79.99

Star Wars Ultimate Force Lightsaber RRP £39.99

Nerf Vortex Nitron (Not in shops till 10th September, so this is a chance to get it first!) RRP £44.99

Bop It XT RRP £26.99

Simon Flash RRP £26.99

Monopoly Electronic Banking RRP £27.99

You need to be willing to video your child playing with the toy. These videos will be used on Hasbro websites and possibly on some retailer websites (e.g. Argos). As a thank you for giving video feedback you will get to keep the video camera (Vivitar DVR 610) and 4GB memory card (RRP £50) that Hasbro will supply you with. If selected, you will be advised about filming requirements and how to upload the footage to Hasbro. All testers will also be required to give written feedback on Mumsnet on a thread.

The toys will be sent out w/c 15th August and you'd need to submit your video by Wednesday 31st August. We'd like to gather your written feedback on a thread on Mumsnet shortly after (w/c 5th September).

If selected you will be sent the toy which will be yours to keep. If you aren't selected please do look out for the feedback thread as we'll be opening this up to all MNers to add their own reviews of any Hasbro toy or game their child is currently playing with. Everyone who does so will be entered into a draw where one winner will receive a £250 high street voucher.

To sign up please click here.

Many thanks

Newgirlhelen Thanks so much for sorting it...am so relieved I can stand down now - it wasn't turning into 'playtime' but 'Bribes to play with Elmo' in the end! Grin

Have they?! But it said that the upload failed Confused There was still some to go I think.

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 25/08/2011 11:46

Yep - they've checked it and all looks fine Chickens

Oh. Well. Good

fuzzywuzzy · 25/08/2011 22:16

I can't persuade my computer to recognise the video camera it is driving me insane.

I've emailed vivitar as my computer insists that the driver for the device is unavailable arrrggghhhhh.

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 26/08/2011 09:31

oh dear fuzzywuzzy - I'll let Hasbro know you're having problems and see if they have any advice

Am on hols so no access to my email. My laptop isn't detecting the video camera, it says unrecognised device so I can't upload the video I've taken. I've tried googling for a driver but can't find one. Can you advise where to download one from? I'll try to check back in later.

MaryBS · 26/08/2011 10:52

Oo I see fuzzywuzzy having the same problem!

MaryBS · 26/08/2011 10:54

laptop is running XP if that helps...

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 26/08/2011 10:58

Here's a bit of advice from Hasbro: Have a look at the Vivitar website and try downloading the Vivitar Experience Software at the bottom of this page. I cannot guarantee it but the drivers might be included when downloading this.

Have tried that already and it didn't work, I'm afraid, but thanks. Was fortunate in that I went to an internet cafe and a lady has lent me a microsd card reader which plugged into my usb port. Am in the process of loading it now... this is a second attempt after I ran out of credit midway through loading! Wish me luck!

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 26/08/2011 12:12

Good luck!!

Its 1Gb in size... may not work... hmm. If necessary can we submit when we are back from hols? On 3 September? I'll keep trying in the meantime?

fuzzywuzzy · 26/08/2011 12:35

MaryBS, I've just seen your problem, I've got a SD port on my desktop so now the films are on my computer. Thanx for the idea!

saycheese · 28/08/2011 18:48

im uploading 5 clips at the minute but it says 7 and a half hours left to upload them lol, and still got more to upload after that! not sure why it takes so long. maybe because i used my own camera due to the one they sent me recording image and voice about 5 seconds apart. thanks again mumsnet, the bop it is my kids favorite toy anyway so it will be well used! x

saycheese · 28/08/2011 20:59

only one of my clips uploaded. i have about 20! but the next one ive tried said it is going to take 11 hours.. and thats one of the little ones... so im guessing it may take weeks! is there any other way to upload them?? or is anyone else having the same issue? x

Marne · 28/08/2011 22:16

I uploaded 7 clips, took me 2 days but the longest was 3.5 hours, most of the others were small (2-3 minute clips), i hope thats ok?

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 29/08/2011 18:35

I've uploaded 1 long clip (eventually!) I'm not convinced about the quality. If Hasbro aren't happy (or want more!) let me know and I'll do some more - my sister has a camera I can borrow.

LynetteScavo · 29/08/2011 22:12

I have spent the last 10 hours uploading clips.

Only 6 more clips to go! Which should only take about one morning. Hmm Grin

saycheese · 29/08/2011 23:05

i stayed upto 5am this morning uploading clips lol, as i couldnt leave it overnight as when my computer hibernates it cancels the download. then got up at 9am and have been downloading ever since... still not even got half them uploaded. each clip is taking about 7 hours and i need to touch my computer every 10 minutes to keep it going! dont think im going to sleep at all tonight as i know the deadline is tomorrow x

saycheese · 30/08/2011 02:11

still up at this ridiculous hour uploading videos! trying to get it done as eldest daughter is going into hospital tomorrow so wont be able to upload any then, hopefully i will have done enough if i dont go to bed lol x

LynetteScavo · 30/08/2011 11:21

All done! Smile

lia66 · 30/08/2011 21:22

I have 3 clips, is this ok? but I can't open the www.bit, just saying page not found or sending me options to other stuff?

Anyone?

lia66 · 30/08/2011 21:29
