We've been asked by Hasbro to find 20 MNers to try out their top 10 bestselling toys and games with their family (2 families per toy). We're looking for folks who are not only willing to try the toy but who are also happy to record a short video review with their child(ren) playing with the toy or game and to add feedback about it to a thread on Mumsnet. There are 10 toys/games to choose from:

Playskool Elefun Busy Ball Popper (minimum age 12 months) RRP £29.99

Sesame Street Let's Rock Elmo (Not in the shops till the 19th September, so this is a chance to get it first!) RRP £69.99

Littlest Pet Shop Tree house Playset RRP £44.99

FurReal Friends Cookie My Playful Pup RRP £74.99

Transformers 3 Ultimate Optimus Prime RRP £79.99

Star Wars Ultimate Force Lightsaber RRP £39.99

Nerf Vortex Nitron (Not in shops till 10th September, so this is a chance to get it first!) RRP £44.99

Bop It XT RRP £26.99

Simon Flash RRP £26.99

Monopoly Electronic Banking RRP £27.99

You need to be willing to video your child playing with the toy. These videos will be used on Hasbro websites and possibly on some retailer websites (e.g. Argos). As a thank you for giving video feedback you will get to keep the video camera (Vivitar DVR 610) and 4GB memory card (RRP £50) that Hasbro will supply you with. If selected, you will be advised about filming requirements and how to upload the footage to Hasbro. All testers will also be required to give written feedback on Mumsnet on a thread.

The toys will be sent out w/c 15th August and you'd need to submit your video by Wednesday 31st August. We'd like to gather your written feedback on a thread on Mumsnet shortly after (w/c 5th September).

If selected you will be sent the toy which will be yours to keep. If you aren't selected please do look out for the feedback thread as we'll be opening this up to all MNers to add their own reviews of any Hasbro toy or game their child is currently playing with. Everyone who does so will be entered into a draw where one winner will receive a £250 high street voucher.

To sign up please click here.

Many thanks

mnhq can you ind out if what I have submitted is acceptable as i didn't get Ds to answer the questions or such like as he was playing, he was just kind of running around after his brother, chatting and talking naturally.

Thanks

I've uploaded my video now - I hope it's ok!

Ilikepinkwine · 30/08/2011 23:17

My videos are awful quality, really grainy and out of synch. I can take a couple more on another camera tomorrow after work (my girls have been away and are now asleep). If the camera was the subject of the product test my feedback would be very negative. What time is the deadline?

The dog is lovely on the other hand. Thank you. :)

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 31/08/2011 17:10

lia66 - yes, all received and fine thank you!
ilikepinkwine - your videos are fine too, thanks

Am having last minute attempt to upload 3 videos - the first has currently been going for over an hour and still showing as 3hrs 54 minutes to go. Helen is it ok for me to continue doing so tomorrow? Sorry should have responded to your chase up email that you sent yesterday, but didn't realise it would take this long to download.

Had great fun creating the videos!

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 01/09/2011 09:26

ibby - yes, that's fine

Thanks Helen......my PC crashed late last night but when I logged on to Hasbro site this morning it appears that my first video is there. I am in the process of uploading second video, but is it possible for you to check whether the first one is ok please? (Sorry about the bare plastered wall in the background)

Am sitting here in dressing gown trying to get this done, and have just had to open the door to the postman...the shame..! Blush

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 01/09/2011 10:17

ibby - Hasbro have got your film and it's all fine, thank you.

oh thanks....PC still chugging through the 2nd one...at least am dressed now

ibbydibby · 01/09/2011 12:39

Sorry to post again, Helen - my 2nd video is 90%, so will soon be there. I am desparate to get on with some work though which involves loading some software onto my PC, and am reluctant to do this while Hasbro still chugging away. So, would it be ok for me to upload my last video tonight? Am I the last one? Blush

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 01/09/2011 13:05

That should be fine ibby

Have finally uploaded 3rd video. Think that the first one which went up last night has not loaded fully, as it seems to be a lot smaller on the Hasbro site than the others - though actually it is larger than the second one.

Have also completed the feedback thread - phew! Enjoyed doing it - thank you again!

MaryBS · 05/09/2011 11:19

I've resubmitted it and it said its complete, but am not sure if it is??? Also someone else submitted under my name. Name of file was the chap with the ark followed by the number 2 :)

Marne · 16/09/2011 09:46

When will we know and be able to see the videos that they have used? dd1 is very excited about being famous Grin?

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 16/09/2011 11:01

Marne - I've asked Hasbro and will get back to you

Hi all - the winner of the best video will be announced here later this week (hopefully on Weds)

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 21/09/2011 16:38

Hasbro would like to say: "thanks to everyone for all their hard work and creativity in creating the toy tester videos, they are all very original and give a great overview of the products features and benefits."

The winner of the £100 high street voucher for the best video is...

Ibbydibby

Congratulations - Hasbro will be sending your voucher out very soon!

Helen thanks for this (also posted my thanks on the other thread). Was highly delighted to hear that I had won a prize for best video (techy stuff not being my speciality!) but also surprised as I thought you said originally that £250 prize was for giving feedback? Feel a bit bad posting this, but just wondering....as I haven't actually heard from Hasbro yet (but maybe it is early days!)

Also wondering if Hasbro are actually going to do anything with the videos?

The news really made my day last week, so thanks again!

AnnMumsnet · 27/09/2011 13:44

ibbydibby - Helen is on hols at the mo...please bear with me and I will ask her on her return - will be 10th Oct.

ibbydibby · 10/10/2011 14:00

OOps thought I had posted to say thanks, Ann. Hope you had good holiday Helen.

Just wondering if there is any news on this as have not yet heard from Hasbro.

thanks

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 11/10/2011 10:04

Hi ibby - think I've worked out where the confusion lies - in the OP I said that there would be a £250 prize draw for non-testers who have a Hasbro toy who added feedback. However, Hasbro decided not to do this after we'd started the recruitment. The voucher you have won is for best video - I'll chase Hasbro now and let you know when to expect your winnings!

ibbydibby · 21/10/2011 09:54

Hi Helen - is there any news on this please? Not a peep from Hasbro yet...

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 25/10/2011 11:27

ibby - sorry about that - will find out and let you know
