We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

MNHQ, when is the first challenege? I feel we should be on the second one already!

AnnMumsnet · 14/07/2011 14:02

Am hoping to get the proper feedback thread up soon...! Confused

GypsyMoth · 14/07/2011 17:16

thanks Ann......any word on more controllers yet? its mutiny here! 5 dc squabbling over the one controlller!!

Bohica · 14/07/2011 17:17

Thankfully TIO is back! Searching the advanced search was a pain!

I had to delete our footage from yesterday after reading the filming rules as it was to shaky & dark.

DH isn't keen on the steering wheel, he said it's to light, that was his excuse for me beating him 5 times in a row.

rusmum · 14/07/2011 17:38

marking place x

ProfYaffle · 14/07/2011 17:40

Extra controllers does not mean peace! dd1 and 2 are being ear splittingly loud in their disagreements about where to go on Kirby's Hmm Wine

HereLiesDobbyAFreeElf · 14/07/2011 17:58

Thanks Ann.

I'm going to buy an extra controller, £40 but you get a game as well.

Bohica · 14/07/2011 18:35

Are we not getting extra controllers now then?

GypsyMoth · 14/07/2011 18:37

yes,we were told more would come.

and 'for all the family' so heres hoping!!

Collision · 14/07/2011 18:37

I think we do need extra controllers to be able to film properly or it will be one ds playing while we all sit and watch and film him.

Not being ungrateful for what we have though.

HereLiesDobbyAFreeElf · 14/07/2011 19:21

We are, but I'm sick of the fighting in the house.

HumperdinkFangboner · 15/07/2011 07:15

I'm off on holiday in August, I need to get reviewing! It's gone away until the extra controllers arrive - the arguments were driving me insane!

GypsyMoth · 15/07/2011 08:09

Luckily the udraw is one person anyway. It's first one to be reviewed I think so not too bad.

Played the kirby one last night.

HumperdinkFangboner · 15/07/2011 09:55

Managed to write up the udraw review, the filming was dull though!

LawrieMarlow · 15/07/2011 13:04

Is there somewhere we are meant to be doing our reviews?

Triggles · 15/07/2011 17:17

Yep, some frustration here due to fighting over the controller, so we've had to put it away for the moment.

Collision · 15/07/2011 17:25

Ann said she would put up a proper feedback thread.

Am presuming we film all 4 reviews of family playing games and send in the camera after 4 weeks??

ANN! Come and answer our questions!

GypsyMoth · 15/07/2011 17:35

So u draw was first, what was the second game to do?

AnnMumsnet · 15/07/2011 18:39

You called!
I chased the controllers and they will be next week
Also feedback thread will hopefully be next week
and 2nd game was Mario Kart ("I'm Marriiioooo")
And yes we'd like film folks to send back the cameras after the 4 weeks is up...we'll be sending out the envelopes separately
Nintendo are chasing the dance game..

think that's it! Grin sorry for the delays but in true queens guide fashion I am doing my best.

Ooooh thanks Ann!!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 15/07/2011 20:02

Thanks for the update.

It looks as if we may have to go away next week for a few days - DH has a very sick relative so it depends how she gets on over the next couple of days. We've played lots with the UDraw though so I can add my feedback for that whenever.

Wii sports is very popular here, as is MarioKart.

Spongebob is too fast for our dc but I find it strangely addictive!

Not tried Kirby or Pictionary yet - too much for me to take in atm!!

Jux · 15/07/2011 20:41

What do we do if we go on holiday? I thought it was all July to do this and knew we were OkK for that, but we're def going to be away for some of August, not finalised yet, but am worried we might not be here to do one or poss two of the weeks?

HereLiesDobbyAFreeElf · 15/07/2011 21:50

We tried pictionary tonight, it was quite fun.

NonnoMum · 15/07/2011 22:24

Ann - you will direct us to the proper-write-it-here-for-your-freebie thread, won't you? Have a horrible feeling I might forget to write something witty and pithy and end up in AIBU, with Nintendo bouncers knocking down the door?

LawrieMarlow · 15/07/2011 22:27

Thank you Ann :)

We are away first week in August (although am considering taking Wii with us on holiday BlushGrin)
