We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

This would be so mega getting this.

jimswifein1964 · 21/06/2011 13:08

I have a wii but I've never let the kids use it Grin

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 21/06/2011 13:22

Done - fingers crossed!

JustSayin · 21/06/2011 14:08

Would be a shame if people were lying about how many children they have...
or being greedy and already own a Wii. Just to get another.

Hope MN can consult their official spreadsheet Wink and weed out the fibbers so that HONEST people are in with a chance.

StrawberryMewMew · 21/06/2011 15:36

I applied (I know I wont get it though), I only have my Nephew living with us at the moment though and I didn't lie about that. :)

MrsOnTheMove · 21/06/2011 17:01

I have applied - feeling old though as never used a Wii or any other console before - have played many some of the CBeebies games though! Blush

PredictableDullard · 21/06/2011 18:28

i only have one child, but i don't want a wanky wii anyway. they are for losers

SharonGless · 21/06/2011 18:51

I have applied although didn't get any confirmation. Think it is great to get the chance to do this - good luck everyone!

PredictableDullard · 21/06/2011 18:54

you need a TV to plug it into. It is a stand alone console so doesn't plug into a computer. You can access the internet on it though.

purpleknittingmum · 21/06/2011 19:54

What a great product test! Can apply as we alreay have one AND only have one child (hate it when having one excludes you from stuff like this!)

Will look forward to the other thread we can take part in!

I applied - we don't have a Wii or any other games consoles, much to DD's disgust.

I've got an 8yo and a baby of my own but share a house with two teenage boys who would also be enthusiastic testers if one came here Grin

Lilyloo · 21/06/2011 20:09

shame we already have a wii bought by gran but the kids would love to test out the u draw game or other bits could we apply for them ?

AnnMumsnet · 21/06/2011 20:32

birdsofshoreandsea - as fruitshoots said yes you do need a TV to plug it in to - it uses the 3 cables you get with -for eg a camera (yellow, red and whites ones).

Lilyloo sorry no, this one is for non Wii owners - will pass on the request to them though for the future.....Grin

Oooh I'm quietly crossing my fingers and hoping like MAD that we might be picked.....my children would be thrilled!!
BTW, well done once again MN for arranging such a fabulous opportunity!

purpleknittingmum · 21/06/2011 20:56

Ooops typo from me *can't apply...!

jennylindinha · 21/06/2011 22:04

Ooh, I'm definitely in for this one! We've been thinking about a Wii for ages but have only just got a proper tv at last! (watched through the pc before...). fingers and toes crossed...

Valpollicella · 21/06/2011 22:28

Is this a luck of the draw thing, or are my chances slim to minimal if I only have one DC?

KateMiddletonsEyebrows · 21/06/2011 22:29

Excellent - thanks for the opportunity!

SeenButNotHeard · 21/06/2011 22:48

I never do the whole 'done' thing, but am so excited about even being in with a chance of winning a Wii that I can't resist.

Am even thinking about how I could bribe MN...

Bast · 21/06/2011 22:53

Our Wii's been completely redundant since we got the Kinnect Grin sorry Nintendo but I wouldn't even want a free one!

PippiLongBottom · 22/06/2011 12:50

Ann, can I just check my questionnaire went through ok because I was doing it on my phone and kept losing internet connection. Thanks.

AnnMumsnet · 22/06/2011 13:02
