We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

Why did no-one tell me you can watch iplayer on it! We would've bought one ages ago! Grin

Bohica · 10/07/2011 10:57

I've only just let mine go on the Wii, great bribing tool for bath & hair wash & tidy rooms Smile

MarioKart is the overall winner again in our house, even our 3 year old is a whizz with a little steering help although admittedly she is mainly going in circles & driving backwards but she is thoroughly enjoying herself Grin

GypsyMoth · 10/07/2011 11:04

Yes my 3 year old has mastered mario too! I'm useless tho and the kids shriek 'mum, nooooooo your going the wrong way!!'

Have been looking at all the smart black accessories to buy on amazon. Matching sports kits and chargers etc. And lots of games too

Wii sing
Guitar hero
Peppa pig
Toy story
Adult just dance
Wii fit

Triggles · 10/07/2011 11:30

Hmmm.... this would be more enjoyable if DH wasn't freaking out every 2 minutes that DS2 (4yo) is going to break the controls... and breathe.....

do we have an eyeroll emoticon? Hmm close enough

Triggles · 10/07/2011 11:31

Oh, and 1 control is DEFINITELY not enough! That is causing a huge issue - especially as you have to fiddle around with adjusting the wrist band for little wrists, then adult sized, then little wrists again.....

LawrieMarlow · 10/07/2011 11:33

I've been happily browsing Amazon as well :)

DC are making Miis for rheir toy animals. Is v sweet :)

TheFeministsWife · 10/07/2011 11:36

I didn't get the junior dance game, got Sponge Bob and Pictionary instead. Was looking forward to the junior dance game too. Sad

HumperdinkFangboner · 10/07/2011 11:38

I've made a special Wii drawer, also searching Amazon for accessories. Haven't had a chance to play on it this morning, FIL is here and watching the motocross.

MrsSnaplegs · 10/07/2011 11:39

Well we've downloaded iplayerGrin played kirby's yarnGrinGrinand Mario Smile
Needed to tidy bedroomSad so we can film and now have to wash my hairGrin refused to let DH film us in bed in our pajamas this morning especially as it was gone 10Blush

HumperdinkFangboner · 10/07/2011 11:39

We didn't get the dance game OR Pictionary and Spongebob!

MrsSnaplegs · 10/07/2011 11:40

I see a small addiction in this houseBlush

Triggles · 10/07/2011 11:49

I don't think anyone got the dance game yet. It's coming separately, I believe (hopefully with another controller and nunchuk to avoid family squabbles!!). Once the dance game gets here, it may be hard to get a look in as both DS2 and DD are anxious to play that one! Grin

TheFeministsWife · 10/07/2011 11:54

Ah ok thanks Triggles.

Triggles · 10/07/2011 12:23

Having played for awhile on the Udraw, we're now going through the sports/sports resort to see what games are good for younger players. So far boxing, swordfighting, and cycling have gone over well. Canoeing was difficult for the adults!! LOL Not due to any gameplay issues, just simple coordination problems on our part. Grin

GypsyMoth · 10/07/2011 12:38

We have borrowed a second controller for the day from dd friend!!

Much, much better! With 6 of us we can play 2 player heats...... Great fun
Recommend seeing if you can borrow a controller from neighbours etc!! Doubles the fun. It needs to go back tonight tho

Triggles · 10/07/2011 12:47

I don't think our 80yo neighbours have any. Grin

oricella · 10/07/2011 13:10

ours hasn't arrived either - we are officially the back of beyond

It has done nothing but rain all weekend, so we're now getting on our wellies and quite literally drown our sorrows Grin

GypsyMoth · 10/07/2011 14:34

Have just come back from sainsburys to find dd has connected through the Internet to multi players live! She was playing with random people in Japan!!!!!

Neverlandpirate · 10/07/2011 14:44

I think our wii is seriously flawed as it says my fitness age is 75!!!! Now we all know that couldn't possibly be right!! Hmm

Triggles · 10/07/2011 15:11

I'm not sure I want to know how to find my fitness age. Ignorance is bliss, and all that! Grin

MrsSnaplegs · 10/07/2011 16:03

I'm 79Angry according to this stupid machineGrin

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 10/07/2011 20:24

I Draw is going down surprisingly well with ds's (5 and 3), though they need help to change the colours, pens etc atm

We're leaving the video camera out and it's so easy to use that ds1 is filming anything at any time - that included us in our pyjamas this morning in a messy living room Blush I'm consoling myself with the fact that we're not a great advert for Nintendo so it probably won't make it into any advertisements!

Bohica · 10/07/2011 20:35

I've just beaten DH on MarioKart & we have done our Wii fit test. DH 56 & I'm 49. Only 15 years out for me Smile

We have borrowed a second controller but I can't get it to work, it's a white one if that makes any difference?

Maybe giving a Wii to a complete techno phobe wasn't such a good idea as not only can't I get a 2nd controller to work I still can't connect to the internet either Sad

I'm working all week so we have written our Udraw review today & once the thread opens we can just type it all out.

Still waiting for our camera here.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 10/07/2011 21:24

How do you do a Wii fit test?

Your controller might need synchronising to your Wii - it said something about this on the quick set up card.

pithtaker · 10/07/2011 21:30

This has been an absolute lifesaver this weekend, Dh and I are both ill so the dcs have been wonderfully occupied while we slump in front of the tv, will give good feedback next week when I get near the thing, obviously quite child friendly though.x
