We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

Yes, pictionary would be great. Shame we didn't get it either tho my age 12 has been on it ages drawing.

All day it's been 'mum, give it here,I'll show you' I'm not very good! But got it set up on my own and then managed to tune it to tv,so that's something!

Fennel · 09/07/2011 18:48

Ours came when we were still in bed Smile

But I was in Wholesome Mother mood so we all went to play tennis first. Real life tennis that is, before trying out the Wii versions.

We haven't got pictionary or spongebob but aren't too bothered. dds are happily working their way through all the games. dd2 has turned the cardboard box into a troll home with working lift too.

NonnoMum · 09/07/2011 19:14

Yep - DD3 has had a lot of fun with the bubble wrap...Wink but we are setting up the drawingthingy as we speak...

TheFeministsWife · 09/07/2011 19:17

Mine came this morning. [hgrin] Haven't had a chance to set it up yet.

HumperdinkFangboner · 09/07/2011 19:30

Nintendo (If you're reading) being able to stream films from my LoveFilm account through the Wii would be fab! Any plans?

Triggles · 09/07/2011 19:32

DS2 is absolutely entranced with the Udraw. He spent most of the time on MarioKart driving backwards and in circles... Grin

GypsyMoth · 09/07/2011 19:39

Dd delighted with the BBC iplayer..... All her missed Waterloo rd episodes there for her!!

And Facebook, when we figure out how to do it

LawrieMarlow · 09/07/2011 19:51

How do you connect to the Internet with it? Did have a brief try but got distracted by children Grin

LawrieMarlow · 09/07/2011 19:54

My DC are 7 and 5 and we got pictionary and sponge bob. And we aren't filming (just to add more information on the who got those games and who didn't).

Bohica · 09/07/2011 19:59

I connected from the menu & selected internet something. I have connected but can't find where to go to actual type mumsnet.com & be able to MN off my tv!!

Children now in bed after a whole day on & off playing the Wii, I'm off to make dinner & DH has just come home from work & is already on marrio cart.

I'm going to need some tactics to remove him so I can watch casualty later.

HumperdinkFangboner · 09/07/2011 20:04

You need to go to the Internet channel and download it by following the prompts. Then the address bar is around somewhere . YouTube is good in 'big'.

Fennel · 09/07/2011 20:42

We are filming but it's not very dramatic filming one child doing Udraw.

Neverlandpirate · 09/07/2011 20:53

Oh I seem to be slower than most..I didn't know you could get iplayer or the Internet! I did manage to get my mii, but got stuck when trying to set up dd's mii or grannys. I will try again tomorrow.

Granny watching tv now so no hope of trying out the wii now! Unless that is it shows QVC programmes? (QVC addicted granny)![hsmile]

Bohica · 09/07/2011 21:05

The children will be so pleased if I manage to get youtube on our 50" TV Grin

I downloaded & connected but didn't see an address bar.

I'm now feeling a bit guilty about the amount of time we spent in front of the telly today Blush Especially as my 3y old went to bed asking "will the Wii still be here tomorrow so I can finish my drawing"

I think I will let them gorge on it this weekend & then set some time limits

Has anyone played Kirby's EpicYarn yet? I found it a bit, meh.

roomforthree · 09/07/2011 21:05

Ours hasn't come. DS1 has been so excited all week, I shouldn't have told him Sad

Fennel · 09/07/2011 21:08

My 9yo dd liked Kirby's epic yarn, perhaps the best of the Mario Kart, Kirby and Udraw options.

She likes the wii sport sword fighting best but that isn't part of our product testing.

7yo hasn't really had much of a look in but seems to like the udraw.

GypsyMoth · 09/07/2011 21:10

Yes,kirbys yarn didn't look so good, but teen dd had a good go and seemed to enjoy it.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 09/07/2011 21:32

Whooppee!

Our was delivered to us at home this morning. Unfortunately we've been out all day and have only just had a chance to unpack it.

Here's what we had in our parcel:

A Wii sports resort pack which contained the Wii and all the wires to connect it, one wii remote, one nunchuck and the Wii sports and Wii sports resort games.

Mariokart game with one steering wheel

Kirby's Epic Yarn game

U Draw game tablet with U Draw studio

Video camera.

Hopefully we'll get the rest of the games that we need to test pretty soon, along with some more controllers (1 controller with 2 ds's, DH and myself = some falling out pretty soon!)

BTW - Dh was not at all interested in having a Wii but is now fiddling around merrily and it is now wirelessly connected to the internet!! (Does that mean I can MN on it? Grin )

Bohica · 09/07/2011 21:37

Oh room I'm sorry, I assumed we had all had deliverys today.

Fingers crossed for monday morning for you.

Our favourite one today was sponge bob as all the children could do it at some level.
I like Mariokart & once I have finished watching casualty & now DH is asleep on the sofa after a long day at work I think I may have one more go before bed!

Triggles · 10/07/2011 08:33

DS2 has discovered the colouring book on the Udraw and quite likes it. He spent time colouring and then altering the pictures with the after effects. So definitely a hit there!

ProfYaffle · 10/07/2011 09:10

Can we really connect to iplayer? Saw the icon on the screen but haven't investigated it yet, that would be seriously cool!

LawrieMarlow · 10/07/2011 09:20

Yes if you have wireless internet you can connect it and get iplayer :) can't remember exactly how I did it but it was quite easy.

DD playing tennis now :)

ruddynorah · 10/07/2011 10:04

Been on it this morning and noticed all the Wii miis on sports are now dh..guess he was busy while I was at work last night Wink

Scootergrrrl · 10/07/2011 10:04

Ive just connected mine to iplayer - ds now watching Baby Jake! It wasn't hard at all. You just have to follow the on screen prompts.

roomforthree · 10/07/2011 10:25

Thanks Bohica Smile I know it'll be worth the wait! I'm looking forward to joining in with the wii fun Grin
