We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

Oh and we have the flip camera (which DH is waving in front of my face).

5inthebed · 09/07/2011 14:11

Have waited in all week for the Wii, take Dh to work today, was out for 25 mins max and the Wii got delivered while we were out.

Will have to wait until next week now

Bohica · 09/07/2011 14:24

Did they not leave it with a neighbour 5? Your poor children.

I was going to post how fab the Udraw is but I won't rub your nose in it.

5inthebed · 09/07/2011 14:29

Ah no Bohica, post away!

I would do the same if I had mine.

Neverlandpirate · 09/07/2011 15:06

Are we going to get any more remote thingmys does anyone know? Or because I got the pictionary and spongebob game is that instead of more handheld remotes?

Did anyone get the dance game?

I haven't quite managed to play it yet in between getting prescriptions for me and granny, doing weekly shop on the busiest shopping day before northern Ireland holidays (won't do that again next year!! ) and cooking for visitors that are due later.

Dd wants to play in the garden so here am sitting watching her play actually willing the clouds and rain to come so I have a good reason to take her indoors! Grin I know as a good parent I should encourage outside play....but..I want to play with the wii!
Grin

HumperdinkFangboner · 09/07/2011 15:11

Wouldn't make sense to not give us the extra remotes, will be quite hard to do the 'family challenge' with my big 2 arguing over the one control!

Am quite Envy at the extra Pictionary game though!

LawrieMarlow · 09/07/2011 15:13

I think we will probably get more remote thingys. It did say in the third bit about enough for all the family to play and some of the games you need more than one to play with more than one person at once.

I think no one has the dance game yet.

DS and DD are creating a lot of Miis. Including one called Wee Wee HmmGrin

LawrieMarlow · 09/07/2011 15:18

I feel a bit bad about the Pictionary and Sponge Bob. They are played with the Draw tablet I think (haven't actually opened them yet) and I assumed other people got them as well Blush

Neverlandpirate · 09/07/2011 15:20

oh sorry Humperdink Blush maybe you will get it too when the dance junior game is delivered?

Neverlandpirate · 09/07/2011 15:28

Can I just say now that I love mumsnet and nintendo, and I do believe that AnnMumsnet should be awarded a medal!

Jaquelinehyde · 09/07/2011 15:46

Humperdink I'm also [henvy] about the pictionary, was tempted to raid the dc's savings and get dh to pick it up today but have decided to wait just incase it comes at a later date.

Could it be that the ones who have got the extra games are doing the videos for Nintendo?

Bohica · 09/07/2011 15:50

Well I have been the worst mother ever as we have played on the Wii all day!

3 children & 1 remote has been interesting & I'm glad the camera hasn't arrived yet because it would have been a lot of arguing over who's turn it is.

The elder 2 have now wandered off but DD3 (3) is currently playing mario cart with the steering wheel.

I don't have a clue what is for dinner & I haven't even put the washing on but we have certainly had a family day here!

Scootergrrrl · 09/07/2011 15:53

We got the Pictionary and Spongebob games and we're not being filmed. Maybe you'll get them later? DD is particularly enjoying Spongebob although we did have a minor tantrum because she couldn't get through all the levels straight away.

HumperdinkFangboner · 09/07/2011 16:30

We're doing the filming but didn't get them, doesn't really matter, really hope we get the extra controls though!

GypsyMoth · 09/07/2011 16:34

Yes extra controls are essential!!

5 dc and me and one controller, not a good thing!!!

Jaquelinehyde · 09/07/2011 16:36

Yes controllers are definately needed!

Bohica · 09/07/2011 16:52

I wondered if the extra games went to the families with certain ages or with more children. We got them & have 3 children 9 7 & 3.

HumperdinkFangboner · 09/07/2011 16:54

I have 3 DC too, mine are 5, 3 and 14 months so maybe too young for Spongebob.

IShallWearMidnight · 09/07/2011 17:35

Wonder why some of us got extra games and some didn't? The udraw by itself isn't especially brilliant but pictionary would have been good I think

HumperdinkFangboner · 09/07/2011 18:10

Just teaching the kids how to play Mario Karts, they're enjoying it, I picked it up very quickly but can't do Playstation/xbox driving games to save my life.

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 09/07/2011 18:11

Hurrah! Twas like Christmas here this morning.

Looks like we've got the same as most folks: all but the extra handsets and Dance Jnr.

Dd1 is transfixed with uDraw as we speak and its headmashing hypnotic music Grin

Will give her and dd2 tomorrow to play as well then do some feedback.

Thank you very much!

Triggles · 09/07/2011 18:22

DS2 (4yrs) was really enjoying the Udraw tonight. My goodness but he picked it up quick!

TheProvincialLady · 09/07/2011 18:30

My DH is now a total convert to the mariokart game, despite being worse than the children at it!

Jux · 09/07/2011 18:31

Hi, just opened it and looking at components etc.

We have one nunchuck. uDraw game tablet.

No Dance Jnr.

Games: MarioKart prob with wheel but haven't opened that box yet, Spongebob Squigglepants, Pictionary, Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Have been out all day, so took delivery at 8am. but had to leave almost immediately. Left a note for dh that he could open it but he's still not v well, so he didn't. Am exhausted so won't set it up yet. Need to recuperate a bit or I'll plug it in wrong and short everything outGrin.

Thank you very much, MN/Nintendo; sorry we've not been playing all day like everyone else, but we do have friends coming over on Monday to help us test it. We'll have a 4 yr old round then too, so we'll have people playing aged from 4 up to 56.

Collision · 09/07/2011 18:44
